This was my first time going to the Stampede and it was so fun! There really was so much more going on than just the rides that my niece and nephews had so much fun going on. I loved the pioneer village, and of course the rodeo events shouldn't be missed.
I wish we could have food vendors with unique items come down from Calgary to Medicine Hat stampede. Food was sub par. Had sausage and pyrogies. The pyrogiess were not cooked through and through. They gave 1/2 sausage cut up on top of the pyrogies that was definitely not worth how much I paid for the order. Lethbridge is offering free gate admission so definitely would be worth the drive because the stampede in MH is boring unless you enjoy the dog show every year. If your taking Children, my advice is to pack a healthy lunch. I noticed this particular vendor did not wash hands in between orders or coach staff on hand washing. I was concerned when they were handling meat and made hand to garbage bin contact with no hand washing. The only pros I could find is. I'm not sure. Need to think about it. It's the same year after year. Next year I'll be supporting the Calgary stampede.
J'adore!
Good place to take the kids. Be sure to buy your wistbands before hand as they are much cheaper. Also if you go earlier in the day you avoid a lot of the lines if you can handle the heat
I held my Dad’s 80th Birthday party in the Fireside Room. The room was recently renovated and perfect for this event. I cannot say enough about the people who work here, Kristina was amazing. She is so efficient and great to work with, very kind and professional. Stan Sakamoto with Shooting Star Events did the catering, it was excellent. Stan and his team are so great, and always provide great food and a warm and friendly atmosphere. This facility and the people will always be my first choice for hosting an event. Thank you so much for making this a memorable day!
Love both volunteering and going to events at the stampede grounds. I've met a couple shareholders and they're always smiling and joking around and extremely accepting. All around good people.
I spent my younger years at Stampede. My dad Dr. Ted Slack was a founding member of the Exhibition. We also showed our horses at Horse Show and of course THE PARADE. Always loved my days enjoying midway, rodeo, chuckwagon races fireworks. Miss my time there.
Great Canada Day at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede! Pancake breakfast, speeches by dignitaries and awesome orchestra making music to accompany us.
The Farmer's Market is held on Saturday mornings. In consideration of the Covid-19 situation, all rules and processes recommended are in place to assure everyone's concerns.
Not a safe place as wind was blowing over canopies vendors products. Many people said they were surprised it wasn't called off because by noon it really got dangerous for everyone attending
We are here for the chuckwagon races. This is a favorite western sport that my husband both love. We take one or two shows each year when we can. Love the competition.
The venue was nice however they seem to block all LTE and you have to pay for wireless access here. Or just leave the building to check scores and whatnot
Stayed here so many times in the past years but this time was the last. From horrible front desk staff that clearly hated their jobs to old and completely worn out furniture in the rooms. The room we had was in the newer South tower so would hate to see the rooms that haven't been renovated. Our bathroom door had previously been kicked in and the repair job was a 1 out of 10. On Friday night I went to the steak house in the hotel at 9: 30 for a meal and I was told I needed to hurry cause they were closing. The food came and everything on my plate was cold including the so called hot butter that was for the seafood. The breakfast in the morning was average and be cautious on what you get as the hard boiled eggs were all brown with grey yolks so clearly they were really good and not fresh or was the chef boiling them so long that they were ruined. When the waitress saw the eggs on my plate, she told me that all the eggs were returned and the Head chef was completely fine with how they were. The overall experience has been deteriorating for a while now and has finally shown me that it's time to stay elsewhere after so many years. The pool and waterslides are a draw into this place but other places have pools that will be a whole lot cleaner and newer.
Such a fun place for families and tourists. It can get expensive but I totally feel like it's worth it. So many rides and games, there's many booths with awesome items you can buy and tons of yummy foods. We go every year for our sons birthday and we always have a blast. Our kids look forward to the fireworks at night too. I've heard great things about the rodeo and we have a great variety of musicians that come and play concerts. Lots of police presence for safetey which is great aswell. A beer garden and casino is on the grounds as well for those who are interested! There are dog shows and a varitey of free funs shows like a hypnotist too. It's a very fun event. They also have kids get in free days and discount entrance fee days. Our family counts down every year to go!
