Terrible Customer Service Experience at Medicine Hat Toyota

I recently had a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience at Medicine Hat Toyota. I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that others can avoid the same ordeal.

My ordeal began when I decided to purchase a van from the dealership. Everything seemed to be going smoothly at first, with the sales manager, Branden, and the accounts manager, Erin, guiding me through the process. I provided them with all the necessary personal and financial information, including my SIN number and credit card details. I invested around two days in this process, only to have the deal cancelled at the last minute.

To make matters worse, when I questioned this abrupt cancellation, Erin's response was nothing short of shocking. She nonchalantly explained that the dealership does not operate on a "first come, first serve" basis. Instead, they have the right to sell to whoever they choose, using an analogy that likened the car purchase to a real estate transaction where the highest bidder wins. This lack of transparency and integrity is deeply concerning.

It appears that Medicine Hat Toyota is taking advantage of the high demand for Toyota cars by resorting to unscrupulous tactics. I was pressured into purchasing winter tires and extended warranties, despite the fact that Toyota already offers excellent warranty coverage. Erin and Branden insisted that a one-time credit report check wouldn't harm my credit score, but their behavior was utterly dismissive and inconsiderate.

What struck me the most was the horrible customer service I received from both Erin and Branden. They were not only unprofessional but also extremely rude. Their indifference to my concerns and their lack of accountability is unacceptable. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I will never return to this dealership.

I believe it is essential for the owner to take a close look at the operations within Medicine Hat Toyota. This type of behavior tarnishes the reputation of the dealership and reflects poorly on the entire Toyota brand. Customers should be able to trust their car dealerships, but the actions of Erin and Branden have shattered that trust for me.

In conclusion, my experience with Medicine Hat Toyota was marked by deplorable customer service, a lack of transparency, and an overall disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly advise potential buyers to exercise caution when dealing with this dealership, and I hope that Toyota takes action to address these issues to protect its reputation and the interests of its customers.

Please don’t go here for service. The team will try to convince you to get unnecessary upgrades, checks and changes or just give you terrible advice on what to do for repairs.

I dealt with 3 people on the team trying to convince me I needed repairs and went to a local external mechanic and they said they were just trying to take my money.

Very unprofessional and I am so disappointed. Save your money and go to a local mechanic.

Exceptional service from start to finish! After looking for a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid in Calgary I got in contact with Kim and she got me a fantastic deal that included everything that was important to me and more! Bought an older Toyota from med hat Toyota last week. Nothing but accommodating! Asked Aaron if they could make a deal happen even though we are in Calgary. Drove down that evening to look at car after hours, Aaron happily met us and showed us the car. Then it was delivered up to Calgary a few days later. My young man is a very happy young fellow for his first car. Nothing but praise for Aaron, Erin and Danilio.

On July 7 2023 I stopped the dealership to inquire about getting assistance with small mechanical issue that I'd recently became aware of. Michael and Mitchell came outside to look underneath and decided to put it on the hoist. In 10 minutes the job was complete, I was very pleased and on my way! This service shop provides the best service, no job is too big or small and even though my vehicle is not currently Toyota, I feel right at home there. Thank you for the award winning service!

I can't say enough how happy I am with Danilo and Craig at Toyota Medicine Hat. My dream truck is this beauty 2022 Tundra Hybrid with a 3.5" lift and 34" tires. This is my first lifted truck, but I have had it for 6 months now and everyone is amazed at how smooth it rides. The turbos kick in hard and sound awesome, unlike the Ford Turbo'd hybrid. This a beauty of a truck and an even better dealership.

I wanted to see if they had any 2023 Rav 4 in stock. Before they would assist me wanted to know if I was buying or leasing. Sorry either you have done or not.

Like most hybrid vehicles, it took a while for it to arrive. Cindy made periodic checks to keep us informed as to potential arrival time. Finally the big day. Just recently got a used car from this dealership— Aaron (Newton) was so helpful, and the process was easy:) THANK YOUUU!

Was in the waiting area for more then 2 hours for a scheduled oil change, and was shocked to get a $110 bill. Used to be $80 I know the price of stuff has gone up but this is ridiculous.

Erin was our financial services manager, and Aaron was our product advisor, and I cannot recommend either of them enough! We knew exactly what we wanted when we walked in, and they were quick and helpful with everything. The team showed us what our options were for if we wanted to trade in a vehicle and what warrantry add-ons were available, but there were no pressure tactics, no trying to "upsell" us. Have bought from this location before 11 years ago and had an equally great experience, will happily shop here again.

Got two RAV at the local toyota dealer. One from the new ownership and one from the previous ownership. I am never buying another vehicle from that dealership. They try to aggressively push unnecessary service on your vehicle at each visit. Now, I need special service on my vehicle which only they can provide. I have been trying to obtain a quote for more than a month. Even when there in person. No one gets back to me. Email after email, no response. I can't wait to be done with them.

Picked up a new Tacoma from Larry Rollack at Medicine Hat Toyota yesterday, very pleased with the whole process from start to finish! Poor Service never answer the phone never call you back you bring your vehicule for waranty issue they order half the part we need to fix the vehicule after more then 2 weeks i still have a leak in my engin and not fix. The only way they get buisiness its because that the only toyota dealer in medicine hat.knowing of that poor service i will never have bought a toyota where the only dealer cant fix it! Legendary, after all the problems i had in the past with my previous vehicle purchases, im glad ibwent down to Toyota and met Larry, that mans no pressure sales was a dream. Had me wanting the car more and more every thing he showed. Also took the time to walk me through the set up of the electronics.

I bought a used 4runner from Tina Newell. She is knowledgeable and had patience for me over the course of my shopping. I live in Calgary and would recommend the trip to get great service.

Take it from a retired mechanic, the service department here are crooks. They take a full job pricing and charge you for a change out of each piece individually. Adding about double the time of the job. If they followed book time properly instead of charging 11hours it would actually be about 6 hours. This is the kind of shop that gives mechanics a bad name. I relayed this story to so many people that have already determined they'd rather drive to Lethbridge then have them work on their vehicle anymore. So all the money we've given them over the years, I guess this is how they want it to end.

The plan was to go camping for a week at Cyprus Hills.thwarted by my engine burning out on the first day. The team at MedHat Toyota were incredible, and went well beyond simple customer care. The right car was on the lot, and they were able to rush delivery of a hitch and controller, letting me get back to Edmonton in just a few days. I had heard a rumour that some car dealerships actually value customers.and it was great to finally find such a place.

They also had the upgrade I wanted on the lot.newer, less km, and my preferred colour. My lucky day! The process from trade-in to driving off the lot in an upgraded Rav4 was pleasant and seamless thanks to the whole team but particularly Tina and Erin. I just picked up my 2021 Toyota Tacoma today at Medicine Hat Toyota and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. Larry made me feel like the most important client on the planet from the moment I stepped in to the building. He was low pressure but so accommodating. I felt like I was walking into Cheers every time I went back as I was greeted by name by a number of staff or just greeted by those who didn't know me. I was a bit undecided on a few things like color and accessories. I felt like Larry gave me an honest opinion on the pros and cons of each and when it came down to the price of the purchase I left feeling like I came out ahead. I have spent a long time these past 6 months searching for what I wanted and determining a price that I thought was fair to both myself and the dealership and they beat the price I had in mind. I recently purchased a 2019 Tacoma Off road from Medicine Hat Toyota with the assistance of Tina from their sales team. I had a good experience with Tina and Erin in Finance. Tina was knowledgeable about the vehicle, offered me straightforward answers and was very helpful along the way. I live several hours away and Tina made sure the vehicle was ready when I arrived, offered to help with transportation and assisted with the license and registration process. Couldn't have been easier.

I am very disappointed with my recent purchase three weeks ago. Third Toyota purchase in 5 years. Received my RAV 4 NOT in showroom condition. Beverage spilled in the cup holder and the driver’s COVID mask between the seats. Front passenger seat has a dent/buckle in it. Hard to see all the details when inside the showroom during pick up. Sales called a few days later to see if I had the window deflectors or not. I did. Service then called to book an appointment for installation of door pocket protectors. Received three phone calls trying to clarify what they were actually supposed to be doing. Turns out their mechanics are not qualified to do 3M installs. My car spent 4 hours there for nothing. Then I had to take it to another company for the install the following day. I was so happy with my 2015 Tundra and my 2017 RAV 4. But, there was no follow up re the 2020 RAV 4 until today. Whether it’s been a change in ownership or not, I will definitely put more thought into my next vehicle purchase.

I just purchased a new Tundra Platinum from Medicine Hat Toyota a few days ago and the experience was seamless and the staff were second to none! The Tundra is an incredible truck too! Bought a used Toyota RAV4, and had a small issue with it after I got it home and had to take it to a local Toyota dealer to fix an intermittent issue.and finally had it resolved and Medicine Hat Toyota stepped up to the plate to cover the costs as their inspection didn't diagnose it. This is a business that will stand up and do what is right! I am impressed.

Purchased a used Camry today. Larry Rollack was our Sales Advisor and he was friendly, helpful, and accommodating with the purchase. I felt comfortable looking at cars with him.

Don't bother. They do not honor their word and don't really care about the customer. I came to them to buy a car and only had a couple quick questions, instead of answering they used my offer as leverage and sold the car to another customer without even contacting me back. Just useless. Let the buyer beware, get EVERYTHING in writing with these guys.

I had a brake problem and medicine hat Toyota serviced my car. The service department was fantastic especially the lady Roz. Very polite and helpful. Service manager also very good at helping me. Could not have had better service. I would recommend Medicine Hat Toyota for anyone.

Medicine Hat Toyota sets the standard for customer service and making sure you get the vehicle that you want. They want above and beyond to get me my dream truck and get it to me on time. 10/10 would recommend this dealership to any of my friends and family looking to get a new vehicle. Tina and Stacey were awesome and will go out of their way to get you a great deal and the exact model with the features you want.

Promised services like oil changes so I would buy the car but then later claimed they had no record of those promises. Shameful.

We visited many other brand dealerships and came very close to purchasing a different vehicle. Not one other dealership provided us with ‘top to bottom’ information on the vehicle we were looking at. We were EXTREMELY IMPRESSED when Brandon physically walked us through all the vehicle’s qualities, pointing out the many features and special detail to the design of the vehicle. It is one thing to read and be well informed when purchasing a vehicle however, every other dealership we visited just handed us a key to test drive. This did not happen at Toyota. Our final decision in choosing between the two vehicles was ultimately based on the customer service we received.

We brought in our 2006 Toyota Camry for a diagnostics check after it had been failing to start. The service staff and ladies at the front desk worked tirelessly to resolve the issue. Even after our stubborn, stubborn car gave them DAYS of grief, they still made it right! (Not to mention, they did it without breaking the bank!)
If you need your Toyota serviced, Park City Toyota is your answer.

The ownership has changed, but the system is still the same. I owned 2 toyotas but not from Park City Medicine Hat. Cindy is a great sales consultant, but the sales manager needs more knowledge about customer service. Looking for the best customer service? Take a few more steps and go to Southland Volkswagen and you will know what I mean. Southland Volkswagen staff are the best in town.

Such a bad first impression. I was booked for an oil change at 7 30am on Tuesday morning. I admit that I was a little late and arrived at 7 43am. I walked up to the service reception and the lady said they'd have to rebook me because they already got someone already. So I went up to front desk and explained the situation and front desk girl goes let me get try to fix it for you. Goes to the back started talking with the manager and the service reception lady. Came back negative response lol. Reception lady even tried to tell me that I'm in the wrong for being late. Yes I'm in the wrong but they couldve at least had the decency to call me and let me know if they are letting someone in. I told her that and then said why would we call you we only call customer hour after if they miss an appointment (which isn't my case). Ended up changing the time to 10: 30. Funny how they said last night that they didn't have an opening today other than the 730. Great going!
