Melcor YMCA at Crowfoot

Great gym, good people, well maintained, employees are great, Chase and Neo both helped me lots

This location is very close to us which is a bonus. People can complain about anything. I find the staff, volunteers and members to be generally kind and likeable. Our kids are enjoying the swimming lessons. I like the gym. Yes there are gyms that are more fancy but this facility has what most people need. With the membership one can always try another Y location.

Older equipment. Little cramped in the weight room, but it has a ton of light, a running track, access to a pool and classes for a lower than average membership price.

Also, they have child minding which is huge for young parents or mothers looking to get fit during matt leave.

Overall, this gym needs an update and probably needs to be organized a bit better. But we are really happy with the crowd and the vibes there.

Everything was great about the place except the gym was very small and the water there was very nasty. Everything else like the slides the diving board and the waves was very nice. Would be going back if they cleaned the water

Great local gym with not much people. But I wish it could open till 10 like how it used to and bring child minding back.

Beautiful pool and a great location! It's been yrs since I've been swimming and it feels so good to be back in the pool. 7: 30am is a great time to swim.the pool is almost empty! Had a lane to myself! Very clean.

The coaches of the aquatics are super approachable. They truly care about the kids. Highly recommend.

We like this location of YMCA, this one is smaller than other locations, but still there is gym, hoops and 2 pools - one for adults and another one for kids. Staff is really friendly, my kids enjoy it being here, and me too:). And yes, it's clean and neat here.
One more update: for those with hypersensitivity to noise/loud music etc.this place is better than Shane Homes YMCA, because it's way quieter here.

For sure older that Royal Oak YMCA however very convenient for us, close to our place and also less buy than before so we like here.

Good gym ok service and exceptional training, the gym had a running course, bikes and many weight lifting activities not to mention 5$ a workout is a stellar fee, would be five stars, but I got a tiny bit more than what I payed for. Overall would recomend

This place is my local YMCA. A newer one opened up a few communities over. Making this one less crowded and even better. I use both and the staff are great. Classes are well run and organized.

Pretty decent YMCA. A little old especially in the locker rooms. But the staff are pleasant enough and the gym floor is quite nice.

My youngest son Joseph and I comes here regularly for his swim lessons. And we have the best time together here. His instructor has helped him improve and feel more confident in the water.

Do everything you can to not ask anything from reception. Unfriendly and rude. More often than not the staff are on the computer or chatting and reluctant to make eye contact. When you finally get their attention they make you feel like you really shouldn't have bothered them at all. I love the YMCA facilities and the child minding staff are stellar but just contact with this front desk tends ruins my day.

Wonderful friendly staff working throughout the facility. Love every good looking one of them!

I would not recommend going here.the gym is small and the pool is always overcrowded.also there is no hot tub or steam room.there is a pretty good kiddie pool and rope swing, but the rope swing is always closed when we go there.the ice rink is hard to get to and the floors are always to dirty.it is a convenient location for Robert thirsk people, so thats why I gave 2 star not a 1

The gym is usually busy, especially later afternoon during the week. Can usually get in for a quick workout but may need to switch up your plans if you need machines because they're often pretty full

Lovely YMCA if a bit smaller than the newer locations nearby. However, if you have a plus membership, this will be on of the few locations that still have plus facilities that will honor that membership. So if you are paying for that, go to this location.

My family and I have been attending gym and swimming pool every weekend for a few years. We impressed how great all staff: very welcoming, nice and friendly. Jasmine at Reception works fast and she always competent. Its is a such joy to be at Melcor YMCA! Thank you guys for your great work! We wish all amazing staff great Christmas Holidays and all the best in 2020!

Have full membership, and really only because of Judy (fitness instructor), After years she is quitting her Monday aqua aerobics class, Seriously YMCA, she brings in the biggest class and your going to let her quit!? Do you know how many upset people you are going to have? You should be paying her for the amount of people she brings in, very sad news! Considering cancelling membership, she is the best you have, look at her attendance!

Like the place but the farthest from the front doors basketball hoops rim has been crooked for as long as I can remember which can be annoying because not as many people will want to play on that hoop making the gym more crowded

No hot tub except for VIP which is not worth it.overall quality is average.needs upgrading.update: tried the hot tub when regular was renovating, too small.might as well not have it.
Good group classes though

Limited access to showers etc. Staffing and volunteer problems handicap what could be a great facility.

Hey ymca I was just at this location and I left unhappy.this was my first time at any ymca.so I get to the till and I ask for a day pas I was stunned when the young lady told me it was 16$ when I asked her why it was so much she said it was because you get to use everything jn the building 0, so I was about to pay and I asK if I get to use a hot or steam room and she said others for premium, so I actually don't get to use everything for 16$. I was still go in to pay, then she asked for my ID I gave it to get but when I asked why she Need my ID and why i was taking my info, she didnt habe a good anser other than "sketchy people don't have I'd and we have had a couple break ins.

For just a drop in you shouldn't be taking people info for a drop in.

A really nice facility. The staff were quite accommodating. Had a bit of a challenge with their internet as I do like to watch videos when working out. I like the track they have for walkers or runners. Their weight/machine/cardio equipment pretty well covered off everyone's preferences. Parking was plentiful and after a vigorous workout, Starbucks is near by to get ones caffeine fix and keep that heart beat going. Probably not what the doctor ordered but what the heck.

Best Place to be, incredible management staff with supervision and safety, I ben frequently from the first year I emigrated to Canada, I prefer to spend my money to enjoy and exercise in YYCA than to go to a restaurant five stars, Thank you YYCA for his safe place.especially the encourage you offered to our children️‍️

Continuous problems with the men's Extra. Steam room down for over a month. No apology or compensation offered. Thinking of ditching this place if things don't improve.

You can't use the steam room or hot-tub unless you are a "Plus" member. Haven't gone back since the first time because of it.

Awesome place with great facilities. Everything is very clean. Both pools are great and the water is not that cold. There's plenty of parking space and staff are friendly and helpful.

Poorest Customer Service. I waited more than 10 minutes to talk to someone at the desk. THREE TIMES When it finally goes thru after waiting to talk to someone they pick it up and hang it up. RUDE AND IGNORANT. I wouldn’t give them any stars at all my son was there swimming and he left his meds behind. If your not going to answer take the phone off the hook. I have recorded the last call if anyone wants to hear just how deliberately it is done message me. I will be contacting head office as well.

May 21st 2019. Around 5 pm, I couldn’t remember her name but there were only two ladies at reception desk and only one wore glasses. The lady with glasses was not ready to serve customers or members, whatever, she had zero intention to help people. It was terrible experience and i am not sure why I put more money compared to other gym for this poor service.

Two stars for friendly staff. The location itself is hot garbage. I gave it 5 attempts not nearly enough equipment. Grungy and not worth the price. Go to Shane homes

Great facility, friendly and very helpful staff. Had some questions about my form on a machine in the weight training area and asked a staff member/trainer who was more than happy to help!

I love the layout of the gym, definitely worth paying extra for the plus membership so you can get complimentary towels, hair gel and lotions.

I am a member and I pay every month for a membership to come and play different sports, workout and mostly exercise. Despite the decent environment, I feel the staff are quite lazy and sometimes very hard to work with. Yesterday I was with my friends and we were in the Gymnasium playing some basketball. Badminton was allowed in the Gymnasium due to the fact that it was an "Open Gym. " Me and my friends went the first time to ask the staff if we could have the badminton nets set up on half the side of the gym and the other side for basketball. The staff said that they would send the DM or Duty Manager down to set it up later. We were acceptable and patient while waiting in the Gymnasium. After maybe 15 minutes or so I went to ask again, this time they said it would be another 15 minutes before the DM would arrive to set up Badminton. I thanked the staff and returned to the Gymnasium after waiting a total of 30 minutes before asking again. I asked the staff at the counter and they proceeded to go inside and ask for a request for badminton. They came out and informed me the last time that the DM would be coming down "now. " Of course that was false making me and my friends wait in the Gym for up to an hour, peering outside of the Gymnasium constantly, checking if the DM was going to arrive. Soon however the DM did arrive more than an hour later, she informed us that "The court was too full" and how "It would be too crowded having 13 people on one side of the court. " I was acceptable and the DM informed us that she would be back in 30 minutes to check if it was more empty. However the statement of the Gymnasium being too crowded brought up a significant memory not a couple of weeks ago when a full family wanted to play badminton on one half of the court while basketball was on the other half. Apparently 13 was too full but I swear I definitely saw 21 people on one half playing basketball. We were not able to play basketball because of the people that wanted to play badminton. Yet the staff does not set up badminton when we ask but when a full family apparently comes with badminton rackets, they squeeze as many people as possible to the other side of the court. I was quite disappointed but not mad however. Now, going back to how lazy the employees and staff are, this event completely explains how bad it really is at Melcor. Of course, me and my friends went to play more basketball and played for up to 2 hours and the DM never really came back "after 30 minutes" to check if the courts were empty again. At this point we gave up going up to ask again and went up to workout. We later left the YMCA after working out and that was pretty much how I spent a day where I planned to be playing some Badminton into doing almost and only some of what I have planned going to the YMCA. Very Dissapointed Melcor, one star rating.

Its a nice and clean place, the only problem is if you want lots of activities to do, this is not the place, they dont have that much activities. Overall its a great place.

Wasn't satisfied at all. I usually go to the new one by royal oak. However they were closed for swimming lessons, so decided to give YMCA crowfoot a shot. The pool is very sad, as they have only a few lanes for swimming, and one shallow pool for kids. No hot tub or steam room either, unless you pay for the premium service. Gym isn't that great either with very few amenities. I get its an older facility, but it needs a major upgrade. Probably will never return to this location. Save yourself the trouble and money and go to Shane homes rocky ridge YMCA

Good amenities establishment with lots to do. My humble advise to have more courteous and respectful front desk staff and also train swimming pool lifeguards to take their jobs seriously because my daughter almost drowned during one of the classes. I kindly did not proceed with any legal actions.

Used to be very good until they opened that high school on top of the hill, now all the kids come here after school gets out. As a result there's always graffiti in the bathroom stalls of the men's locker room that never gets cleaned off or painted over.

Great building really quite and nice place pools very calm the lifeguards are extremely nice and the staff all around the building are helpful and informative there is a nice little gym upstairs and just and some really nice programs are runner there

The staff at Melcor are the nicest of any YMCA I have ever visited. It may be smaller but worth it because of the great staff and volunteers.
