I needed a external drive to back up my mac and went in to try to find one. I had very little knowledge on how they worked or what to buy and Sang took care of me. He showed me every option and the explained the benefits of each. He also explained how to use it and also showed me a video so I could see a visual. I mentioned I was also looking to buy a new laptop for school and he took the time to show me some of the best options and their features. The other employees shared opinions as well and Sang explained how the computer hardware worked and what all the specs meant. Everyone was super friendly and willing to help. I had trouble using the external drive and had to come back for help. Sang again took time to learn how to use the specific brand's model and also offered to backup my files and made sure everything was good before I left. Above and beyond anything I expected and will definitely come back for any else.

I recently bought a back to school pc special at the North East location- that was also a decent gaming setup for my daughter. I was very impressed with the end result and the terrific service I got from one employee in particular named Daniel. So I strongly recommend anyone looking for tech advice to ask for him next time you come in.

Bought hardware and various things over the years. Bought a pc 2015 or so and the computer is still running today. Few years back I went to get a gaming pc from memory express as the last one was stellar. Had them spec everything out and on paper it should run no problem. First week of having it I had issues galore so I took it in. Found some bad hardware out of the box no big deal. But the original tech had ran the power cables so that they were jumpered to the video card and othe components. The tech told me that could have started a fire in wiring it that way. Then proceeded to hold me hostage over a cable for $30.after spending around 3 grand on a pc that was having issues out of the gate. I offered to bring the cable in the following day due to the way I commute I couldn't make it to home and back in an evening with traffic and construction. Also before it was built I asked if there was enough cooling with fans and such. I was told yes more then fine. Turns out it is not. Now finding components acting odd and started checking Temps and noticed 80 degrees on the cpu and gpu.not to impressed with this current machine. I wouldn't get them to build one for you. Maybe a pre built.now I can't even run basic games on low settings.not impressed.

Google, said store opens at 10am but not really I got here at 10am and store still close 15mnts waiting and nothing yet!
And take I look on their website and it says they open at 11am so don't rely on Google schedule it hasn't been updated yet!

Don't waste your money here. We bought a mini keyboard there with extended warranty $20.00 not expensive. But good God it's not worth it! It doesn't work right they told me I have to wait until Monday to have a tendency " look" at it to determine if it can be fixed and said it probably couldn't. So why not replace it like any other normal store would! Buy on Amazon it would be much easier! Over glorified geeks!

12-02-21 - What is going on at Memory Express? This place has become a dive! The last computer I bought there was a dud. I don't trust them much anymore. There is hardly any customers there anymore. It is an awful experience. The place is ugly as all else.

11-30-2018 - Service is slipping. I bought a phone charger yesterday. The guy knew little about them made stuff up. He gave me bad advice.

Previous Review - The staff here pretty much offer the best service that I have received anywhere. They are helpful, friendly and seem to actually enjoy their work! Always up to date on product knowledge and selection. I really enjoy shopping here - maybe too much!

Set up is pretty spacious. Staff, or at least the guy I dealt with was pretty good. Easy transaction, plenty informative, plus he was a pretty funny dude. Only complaint is that if you want something off the big boys rack (i.e. Monitors, routers, higher end products), you gotta wait in line for a staff member to find the item in the back. Otherwise, 10/10.

How these guys can be anything less than five star shocks me. Always had amazing service here. Had a laptop warranty issue that was taken care of WAY quicker than quoted. Excellent customer service, and I would never go anywhere else for my computing needs.

Go in with exactly what you want. Easy. Go in with a good idea what is the website, pretty easy. Questions? They can help as they usually have what you are looking for.

FYI. Construction happening. Takes some time to grab stock as things are not easy to get to for them.

Memory Express has a terrible track record with online orders. Placed an order for a 2 pack bundle of 8TB Western Digital Red drives and they wouldn't honor the price. Manager gave me a call back at my request and was absolutely no help, hid behind the website terms instead of providing any actual customer service.

I’ve been dealing with this location for years and never thought to give it a review but I have a very easy great experience today with Richard.

Wasn’t pushy or a typical sales man he worked with me and showed me respect with the things I wanted in my new build not what he wanted me to put in it.

Highly recommend this memory express over the other ones.

Best place for computers and equipment. Staff are knowledgeable and for a place where nerdy types hang out to smell the fresh scent of the latest video cards, the staff can hold a pretty good conversation.

Pretty solid electronics store, knowledgeable staff can answer the question well. On the repair side of it I have used it a couple times and its always been a 1 or 2 day turn around, can't really complain there. I buy most my electronics and PC components here.

Staff were great! Warning, can't browse because of covid BUT the staff totally compensated for that. Really helped me find what I needed, and gave me some advice to figure out some additional issues I brought up. Really happy with my service!

Memory express has been my go to for high-end computer components for the past 15 years or so. I’ve purchased three high-end systems through them in addition to numerous components.

I believe the company greatly needs to up its game with regards to customer service during the purchase process. Over the 15 years I have had numerous customer service related issues. This is unacceptable, when online retailers like Amazon offer a consistently professional level of service.

I won’t be purchasing from memory express again, except for certain small components. The customer service culture of this company needs to be updated for the 21st-century.

I have been a customer of Memory Express for over 25 years and I'll never purchase anything from them again. I went into purchase a $299 elgato key light and a NorthBayou Monitor Arm. As under there price protection that will match and beat the price by 10% the monitor arm on amazon was $59.99 which they were selling it for $89.99. As the manager at Memory Express "Bald Guy" said Ohh no we can't match that it is a reseller on amazon. Did not offer to lower there price by one penny. So I asked the manager so I can get both products online, are tell me that I should purchase these online? He said Yes. And so I left. This shocked me and didn't wanted to do anything for my business. K here is my point. I want shop locally to do my part at the time that every local business needs a little help and trust me I'm always willing to spend a bit extra because as a retail store has extra expenses but $30 more and not moving at all on the price where this is clearly priced incorretly this was insulting and more importantly the manager not doing or offering anything to keep a customer? I hate to part ways seeing that for over 25 years I enjoyed purchasing products from Memory Express, but when I'm told to shop somewhere else I guess I'll do as instructed.

In an already great chain of computer stores, This one manages to excel. They managed to bring a CPU I killed back to life (Thanks Bill), all with very friendly and informative service, doing their best to prevent any unnecessary expanse.

Horrible service and horrible policy.

Bought a few things from the Calgary SE location. Staff is very rude and quite snobby. They don’t take any time to help you compare items for purchase. The last time I was there to buy a new machine. The lady that was helping said, I don’t know the difference, just buy one or leave. So I just left. Second issue, I bought a new ultra wide monitor online, with price match to bestbuy. The difference was $70. But then they charged me for shipping, which is fine- but $25.then a DVI fee? $18 and environmental fee of $20. I called and asked them way. He said that’s just how it is. Luckily bestbuy has stock back in if the UltraWide monitor so I placed the order. They didn’t charge shipping, or any other fees. I ended up getting it for $130 less that the best match price ME could give. Now I have emailed them on many occasions to cancel the web order. And have had no replies. I wonder what they are up to now.better off just finding what you’re after from a different place that doesn’t have questionable fees. PC Part picker, newegg, even bestbuy and sometimes Amazon is the way to go. I wouldn't bother with Memory Express.

This location is THE BEST memory express in Calgary! Everyone in the store is so helpful, from the sales reps to the computer service desks. I'm always able to ask questions and I feel like no one every tries to upsell me on anything here, just telling me how it is and not pushy. I've bought all our laptops in our household here, and won't go anywhere else.

Have tried for a month now to contact someone to ask where the computer system I ordered and paid for full is. No status updates on the website, no one responding to my multiple emails, phone numbers are always disconnected. No delivery of the system, it's been a month. No other memory express are affiliated with this web order store. I literally cannot talk to anyone who knows what's going on with my order. Worst customer service. Took my money and ran.

They're continuing to deal with Vivid with max occupancy restrictions, so have people managing incoming customers at the door, and directing people according to them being in for sales or service support. They were busy, but my salesman was helpful, informative, and in a positive mood. A good experience, as it typically is.

We went on boxing day. Weather was ok. Waited in line for 45 mins which was good imho considering the pandemic crossed with boxing sales. Service was excellent, staff seemed to be responding very well to a difficult situation. Good PPE and distancing.
We were happy with our experience.
