Manager has a very abrasive personality. I would strongly recommend some sort of customer service or de-escalation training. I’ve spent thousands over the years but I will never return to this location.
(Edit in response to the owner). The problem was not with how my issue was resolved as I left with a new mouse; The issue was the way in which the manager was speaking with me. I attempted to explain several times my issues and concerns only to be cut off in the middle of my sentence. Despite my efforts to be a calm and respectful customer he did nothing but give me attitude to try to elicit a negative response from me. I as the customer should not have to be the bigger person. I will not be returning and will advise friends and family of the same.

Y’all just lost a $3200 sale to Amazon because you wouldn’t price match. Nov 27th 2023.

I’ve probably spent over 10k with y’all. Had no idea you would turn away my business like that. Wasn’t even a huge difference in price. After driving all the way here (knowing they’ve price matched before).

Back to Amazon for good then I guess. What a Shame.

Honestly wow. Amazing customer service, wonderful people to chat with and you feel like there’s someone there who can guide and help you when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Also they’re really well priced and I felt like I got a great deal and an amazing experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone getting a computer or needing one fixed.

Sure they have a great selection but 80% of the staff are miserable and rude. I have seen numerous instances of staff members being condescending to those new to computers and gaming. The worst example was a teenage kid came in to buy all of his components for a new build and by the time he was done the staff member (will not name publicly) at check-out had ruined his excitement. Hire better staff and this place will become a great store.

Phenomenal customer service, and I mean it. Bought a new MSI laptop from them a few weeks ago, the process was easy and straight forward and the salesman was able to answer any questions and concerns I had about it. The laptop then went on sale recently and they honored their price match guarantee for me with no hassle whatsoever. Really great experience from these guys, I'm going to continue shopping with them for all electronic needs!

Whether you're buying new, or getting repairs, memory Express has always been great to work with. Understandably not always the cheapest, but between service and product quality you won't find a better place to shop.

The worst part about coming here has got to be 58th ave. The lights are so uncooperative and it's always busy. But maybe it's just so bad because memory express makes my computer problems seems so easy and manageable. Maybe it's because memory express just makes buying new computer stuff so exciting.

Got my first Gaming PC built here! The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! The store is nice and clean and organized. They ensured my build would be 100% compatible with the components I chose and offered any additional advice I needed and they ensured I was aware of any promotions and rebates that I qualified for. They put a lot of care into my build and ensured my PC was transported safely. I've always had a pleasant shopping experience at this store! Thank you Memory Express!

Service wise, this store is my go to for almost anything. They are close enough to me that i dont mind the drive into calgary to pickup any computer components i need. I always pricecheck between ME and another large online vendor. Sometimes one or the other has stock while the other doesnt and pricing changes. The staff always provide helpfull knowledgable information and suggestions of correct hardware vs just name buying. They see common failures and can recomment a better lifed product. Nowhere else in alberta with a better selection you can drive to or order online. Thanks guys

I ordered a 3060Ti in January, and memory express had cancelled my order in June without notifying me. I am incredibly frustrated as I've been waiting 8 months for this card, only to find out today that the order was cancelled 2 months ago and the only reason I found out is because I called in to inquire on the status of my order.

The order was cancelled because I had purchased a 3080 in December, before the card shortage got crazy. The policy of 1 30-series card per customer makes sense with the current shortage, but I had no way of knowing this policy existed as nobody notified me. My order was being processed for 5-6 months before it was cancelled, if I'd known earlier that I wasn't allowed to purchase another card from Memory Express I would have started shopping around with other suppliers. Now I'm unsure if I can get a 3060ti card at retail pricing before Christmas, and will likely need to make my purchase through a scalper or downgrade to an older card. Very frustrating.

If there's any proof of ME trying to contact me, such as an email I might have missed, then I'm willing to bump my review up to 3 stars. I don't see myself bumping it to 5 stars as the company still kept me waiting for 5-6 months before cancelling the order.

Best electronics store I've ever been to. Staff are very knowledgeable and will help you with any issues. I was suprised to find out that their in store warranty covers free yearly cleaning for laptops/computers for the duration of the warranty. That's outstanding business practices I am happy to support!

Been shopping with this company for years, have had excellent experiences at all locations but my go to is the South location. I do miss being able to browse but I get it. I find I'm in and out quicker this way as they just grab everything I need.

Their website says they have no graphics cards in stock. I went into the store to get couple of network switches, and lo and behold, they have 3 shelves chock-full of graphics cards, probably 2 dozen cards in total. The sales associate says they do that so bots don't get them, but that's BS: you can only by anything from the inventory of their online store, the inventories of their individual stores are separate. They are holding these cards to force you to buy them as a bundle, which is called "tied selling", which is illegal.

A retail store where no retail shopping is allowed. I understand there's a pandemic but not allowing any browsing of the products on shelves is ridiculous. I was ready to purchase a keyboard today but was unable to browse, and the sales attendant was very unhelpful. They wouldn't even bring any examples to the counter for me to look at. Why even have the store open at all? I was told to go home and do my own research. Thank you I will, and I won't be returning.

It is a fact that the store is a well of knowledge and experience, I don't think I can top on that with more emphasis.
But I have to say, hats off for Norm L, your work ethics, patience and genuine interest in providing help and advice is an example to follow. Thank you very much for keeping trying to find solution to my computer problem and continuing to provide advice by phone and email. Best of luck.

I've had several tower PC's built at Memory Express over the years. My current one is likely my last. It used to be that what they'd give you would be a functioning PC. No more. They don't install anything. I get that Windows has a lot of personal stuff, but they don't install drivers and don't give you any instructions or indications that you need to. I had to completely configure my sound card after downloading the drivers, with nothing to indicate that I'd need to do that.

The hardware itself is junk. It's not configured correctly so the BIOS screen comes up when I reboot it. They tried to fix it, but failed. Now, when the power comes on after being dormant it makes an awful noise, likely a defective fan. It's a 30 minute fix, and I have an extended warranty, but they won't take timed appointments and can only promise that I'll get the PC back within 5 working days. That's completely unacceptable given that my wife is working from home and using the home PC.

Don't waste your time with these guys, and especially don't waste your time with an extended warranty given that they won't do timed appointments or do in-home servicing.

The way they are dealing with the pandemic is amazing! Have have been here many times but this was the first during the pandemic. I was in and out in 15 minutes with exactly what i needed. Both the guys i spoke to were extremely knowledgeable which also helped speed the process of my purchase. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a computer or computer parts.

Terrible customer service i come in with a simple question about a replacement battery for my laptop and got treated like an idiot and i was talked down to in a rude way its a simple question and i cant hear you very well with a mask and a barrier in front of you so dont get snippy with me.go on your break and calm down then if you cant talk to people

I have never had anything but a relatively poor shopping experience at memory express. I realize they are catering to different sort of crowd, but customer service should not be neglected.

Over the past couple of decades more than half the time I have had issues when purchasing expensive products, from memory express. The customer service culture needs an overhaul into the 21st-century

I went in to buy a RTX 3070 and was informed that the only way they’d sell me the GPU is if I purchased a whole builds worth of components. I bought all my PC parts from ME, but I won’t from now on.

Memory Express Computers Calgary South East is AWFUL. Completely unprofessional in the way it handles testing laptops and diagnosing issues-their technicians are some of the laziest I've ever encountered. When I submitted my laptop in for repair, they ran the most BASIC testing and couldn't diagnose the actual issue that had caused the laptop to be dysfunctional. Then, they re-installed windows on my laptop and didn't call me back when the repairs were finished. I asked again and again for a callback, until finally I had to just come into the store to see whether the laptop had been fixed yet. When I left the store and tried my laptop, there were multiple issues with it. The laptop had a new Windows operating system on it (not the same as before) and the trackpad was completely dysfunctional (no right-click functionality or scrolling using two fingers). When I called to tell them my issues, they tried to tell me that the laptop had been tested even though it clearly hadn't. I'm not sure whether they think "testing" simply means the power turns on. How could they miss something so simple like the trackpad not even working? I'm so nervous and worried about the other problems that will come up. Better to have gone to a competent technician in the first place than to deal with this headache.

I had a great experience at this Memory Express location recently.

I was looking to buy a computer monitor to replace the one at work which was slowly blinking to a slow death. I consider my computer knowledge to be novice so I went in knowing that I would need help.

One of the staff members, Josh, was extremely helpful and took the reins. He was able to determine what my old monitor specs were and found me a monitor that fits my work needs. I bought the monitor with confidence which I normally struggle with when it comes to computer parts. He was patient and extremely knowledgeable. He is a reminder why I prefer to shop here at Memory Express instead of a large big box store. You just can't get this kind of service anywhere!

Bought most of my parts in the NW but then the PSU I bought from Newegg bit the dust. I tried to repair/swap it myself but ran into issues and took it to the SE store for repair. They were able to diagnose that I was a dummy and fixed it. Also had a do a few price protections and the customer service team helped with that too. All in all an amazing experience. Thanks for saving my bacon Memex.

Finally bought a prebuilt that had a 3070 which I was looking for for months and Brandon there was super nice to help me out! Considering he was new he was pretty darn knowledgeable in the things that I needed and I found myself asking all sorts of questions which he had no problem answering. Spent a little over my budget in the end but everything is working and im happy so i dont mind! Great great service from him

I have been to memory express with usually good experiences but this time I as different, I go into clone windows and it takes 7 days as a quote to get it done around Christmas time.so I say sure, I come back after those days to the very moody employee telling me nothing has been done at all I paid an initial $50 and all the same problems I told them they said to me. Wouldn’t recommend getting service but prices aren’t to bad on parts especially on sales. The customers seem moody and all seem they don’t want to work. His excuse was that I never even gave him directions to clone windows which is false cause I paid for windows to be done. The employees told me to call back numerous times but the line always said they were to busy to take phone calls.

I shop at all three locations this particular location has the worst customer service I will never come back to this location the other two locations have exceptional customer service, from the guy standing outside barking orders on how and where everybody should stand in line I get that it's covid precautions and I'm all for that but there's no reason for you to bark orders because somebody misunderstood where they're supposed to stand to the guy at the cash too busy to chatting and laughing with the guy beside him and has a very military boot camp attitude on explaining things to me. You guys can do much better shame on you.

Wide selection of almost any computer related items you could need. Staff are great and very knowledgable. Products are almost always available in stock, and if not, can be ordered in quickly.

This feedback is for the manager Marcel and the SE Location. This is honestly the worst customer service i've experienced to date from memory express.

This morning, 2 days after boxing day, i called the NE location because according to online inventory, they still had a monitor that was on sale in stock. I waited 2 hours on hold in queue to talk to someone. I get it, it's boxing week and busy so i understand that. When i finally got to speak with someone after 2 hours, they told me it was all sold out, which once again, i understand because it's boxing week and they are busy and prices are good. But i asked them specifically if they'll do back orders and if so, will they uphold the sale price. The salesman confirmed over the phone that YES they will do back order and it will be the sale price when it becomes available, and not regular price. But in order to do a backorder, i do have to go in store. Unfortunately for me, the SE location was closer so i decided to go there. When i got there, i waited another 20 to 30 minutes in line to get in. Once again i understand, it's boxing week and it's busy. But when i finally got in, the salesman at the counter told me they don't do back orders because once it gets in, it'll be at regular price and not sales prices. The salesman asked the manager (MARCEL) and they confirmed it could not be done even after i told them i had spoken to the NE location over the phone just that morning who confirmed that they COULD do back orders for the sale price.

Not that i buy new computers every year but generally, whenever i upgrade my computer, i buy most of my components from memory express and this is the worst experience I've had. It's actions like these from Marcel and the SE branch that discourage me from buying and supporting local and supporting amazon instead. I was told afterwards from a friend that the SE location is known to be the worst and apparently the NE location is the best. However, that shouldn't matter and there should be consistency of policy from location to location. Online giants like Amazon definitely have their flaws, but they have consistent policies and treat their customers well. They don't let individual managers like Marcel, degrade customer service by coming up with their own rogue policies. I wasted 3 hours dealing with memory express today. Lesson learned. Amazon, at worst will cancel your order and the only time you've wasted is a minute or two of clicking.

If anything, go to the NE location, their service is significantly better. Avoid SE at all costs.

Ive had good experiences before buying stuff. But just had a bad service experience. The kid at the desk was unfamiliar with my request but refused to let me speak to a tech (despite him.doing so and relaying the message poorly)

I guess i have to book in and pay them to speak with a tech regarding partitions.what a joke

I know my issue and wanted guidance fromma pro. Not excuses
