From start to finish my husband and I had an exceptional experience. Every dish was cooked to perfection.
Our waitress was so lovely and very knowledgeable. I cannot remember her name but I do remember she titled herself an accent imposter.

We bought fresh pasta, sauce, meatballs and bread to have a quiet night at home. It was easy to prepare and delish.

We had an incredible meal with fantastic service. Attention to every detail from start to finish! Thank you so much!

Great appetizers, salad, and Shrimp, Scallop Linguini to celebrate my Birthday. The waiter and my husband sang Happy Birthday with Tiramisu that had a candle in it.it was a nice moment.thanks Mike

The Bistecca and the Capresse salad are the best dishes. Pasta is ok but very spicy which is not very Italian.

Best Italian food in Calgary. Great service with comfortable yet unpretentious atmosphere.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Seriously some of the best food, and cocktails, I have ever had. The service there is amazing too! You really feel like you've entered a fine dining establishment that is run and operated by a giant family. I can't wait to go back!

The food here was top notch. The pasta was cooked perfectly aldente and the flavor was truly out of this world. Dessert was also spectacular, which is to be expected when you have a pastry chef making them.
The service was even better than the food was and we had an amazing time.
10/10 would definitely recommend for a night out with excellent food and service, though it is a bit on the pricey side

Beautiful restaurant. Can't go wrong with Mercato! I like the mission location for its coziness and rustic feel. This one has a more modern feel and a larger space. Food is just as spectacular!

Fabulous food. Not sure why they chose tables and chairs that feel like a hospital cafeteria, but the food makes up for it.

Loved it. I was fortunate to eat at Mercato Mission so I was excited to eat at Mercato again. The food was outstanding and consistent between the two restaurants. Amazing pastas and meat. The Negroni was spot on and great service. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Calgary. You can't go wrong, definitely will go back again when I visit Calgary.

Incredible food and atmosphere, cocktails and wine selection was very good. My only issue is the price. For what it costs, I'm not sure we would return anytime soon. Otherwise it was a very good special occasion.

As i was walking to the washroom i overheard the waitress with a wig complain to her coworker about another customer.food was good but much too expensive for the quality - don’t waste your money and go to una pizza lol

Amazing restaurant
We are thrilled this place survived Covid after enduring no revenues for 2 years. In our opinion the restaurant is now better than it has ever been. Service was outstanding, food truly great and the facility is super spotless clean. Many Thanks and kudos to the owners. Great job and your success is well deserved

Everything was great. Mike served us and we enjoyed every minute of it. Only downfall for us was, they don't supply highchairs. I just wish I had know before our reservation.
Service, food, wine it was all amazing

The food was impeccable. If only we had time to eat our meal and where not made to sit for 1 Hour before our dinner plate came out!

We booked an 8: 30pm reso last Friday. Sat at 8: 30, and ordered at 8: 45 promptly our entire courses. Caprese, Pasta, Chicken & Steak for 3. We had a 10: 15 pm reso elsewhere for drinks therefore we where hoping we would be fully plated by 9: 00pm to enjoy our full meal together (3 of us not a large party) and leave to our next destination to not miss our last reso by 10: 00 pm.

That did not happen, by around 45 minutes we had to flag down the staff to remind them that we where still waiting on our FOOD to arrive. There was this creepy manager who kept giving us strange looks and telling us he would comp us a "drink" for us having to wait over an hour for our food to arrive. He never apologized for us having to wait. We do not care about extra drinks, we care about getting the food we ordered in a prompt time frame and if it is delayed we care more about the staff communicating that to us in advance.

I was not happy as it was our friends Bday and we wanted to enjoy a nice STRESS FREE meal without major delays in service, and care. The female server was we had was also very awkward and paid zero attention to detail. Things like pepper where left out of our options and we had to flag down other staff to get what we needed. When we order pasta we expect to be offered fresh ground pepper at this price point. This isn't Earl's and quite frankly I've had better service at an Earl's when they are slammed than this experience.

Overall, we didn't get our full meal. We had a Steak and Chicken ordered but when it was now 9: 55 pm (over 1hr after ordering) and the steak had just come out we had to cancel the chicken and leave only half full.

Thank goodness for Major Tom and their excellent service to make up for this Bday dinner gone wrong by way of the staff's total incompetence to take care of all their tables that night.

Advice: Train your staff so they don't ruin customers evenings and train them to have some humility and empathy for others when they drop the ball entirely. Things get late but they should be communicating that to customers and not making people feel stranded in a restaurant on a Friday night.

Marvelous Italian resturant with knowledgeable staff. The wine pairing the waiter suggest was right on point and you would be hard pressed to find a bad plate here.

Highly suggest the caprese for a starter, you will not be disappointed!

Kale Ceasar very tough. No bread, oil & vinegar served although the couple beside us received some? Just ok. Great service.

Great food! Family-sized portions suit groups very well. Wine selection is great (try the Ripasso). Excellent service to top it all off. Definitely going back.

Vegan/vegetarian options are very poor. Vegetarian substituted Cesar salad has a very heavy dairy after taste and I had a stomach ache after the meal. Sorry. I am not a fan.

Top notch restaurant on the west end of Calgary that has it all. If you are looking for a dine in experience, the quality of food is like no other. If in a pinch for dinner, the market has everything to make life easy. Price point for quality of fresh homemade food is very reasonable.

Came here for a birthday party, food was mediocre in comparison to downtown location. Chicken came out dry and over cooked and they added a charge on our bill without notifying us ahead of time. We asked to speak to the manager and she was too busy. I think her name was Ashley and we were told to email her. So basically “pay for the uneaten chicken and surprise charge on your bill and email us with your concerns! ” Customer service is not a priority at this location. Go downtown!

Gnocchi is to die for. Colorful, green and not shy on ricotta. The bistecca is pricey and full of gristle. Not for me. Looks impressive but.won't order again.
This is 3rd time btw. Seems understaffed for service one gal running bar and half filled room left more to he desires. Italian place with no Cynar? Lame. One type of Limoncello? Also lame. Orange salad was good, but not outstanding. Enjoy the concrete feel of bar and its angular so it feels private and you get to watch the kitchen. Portions are a little too big for two people. This place would be better for groups of 4 if you wanna taste the menu. I think I prefer downtown location. That said it was still good and I will probably come back, but only because Italian at this tier is limited these days. I wishthey would reduce portion size and price so i could select more.

Every time I go to Mercato, I find myself saying "I'd forgotten how amazing the food is here"! Wonderful atmosphere and food.

Great pasta - definitely try the penne with sausage ragout. The meat platter has plenty to offer different tastes. Also get the mussels

I had the chicken schnitzel, it was HUGE and very tasty! My wife and I love Mercato, and it's always nice to shop in their market to take some authentic italian items home.

Not sure what changed from when I last visited the restaurant. The rib steak tasted very disappointing compared to last time. It was burnt in some places creating a bitter after taste. And heavily seasoned with salt.

Veal was over cooked. And the mushroom side which it came with was cold and overly sour with vinegar.

Brussels sprouts were also very sour.

The whole meal was vinegary. I really need a good milky creamy something to balance it out but this was nowhere to be found. The bread basket which came with dinner service wasn’t enough to take out the sour taste.

I informed the restaurant we were celebrating a birthday, even upon arrival our server confirmed there is a birthday celebration and that she will make it special for us, however, nothing was done in any special way. No dessert, no special touches. Quite disappointed with this especially since she committed to make it special.

For the price point of their menu, I expected much higher caliber of service and quality and taste. Fancy dish ware is the only thing I saw. And average sour food. Slow service despite restaurant not being full. We were constantly waiting on the server to come around.

Ordered the large entre share platter, rissoto, mozzarella appetizer, cauliflower and octopus for our table of 6. More than enough food! Everything was delicious, but gave was the octopus - it was so soft and just melted in the mouth:) would order again without a doubt!

This used to our favourite Italian restaurant with great service and food (especially the meat), but our last visit was a miss and quite average, especially since we were celebrating a birthday occasion.

Meat: The rib eye steak was still good, but felt a little smaller than usual (maybe our perception). The accompanied greens for the rib eye was too sour (acidic). The veal we ordered was too dry and I don't feel it was worth the price (the accompanied mushroom was cold instead of sauteed).

On the plus side, both the linguine and tagliatelle were delicious, so kudos there!

However, the brussel sprouts we ordered were again too acidic. I'm not sure what was going on last night, but ALL the vegetables (main or sides) were too sour/acidic, becoming very one note. Someone got too happy with lemon juice or vinaigrette.

Considering it was one of party's birthday, nothing was done. I mean, considering the bill was nearly $300 for 4 adults, perhaps a little gesture would be nice. Another table got a cake for their birthday.maybe it's because our server is new we were short-changed.: P

Still great rib eye, but certainly not our go-to for special occasion in the future.

Friendly staff and fantastic take home selection. Hand made pasta go to for a quick meal at home. Highly recommended.

I have eaten at Mercato West two times. Once on the restaurant side and once on the market side. The whole chicken meal was bland, like hospital food. My most recent meal was chicken parmagiana. It arrived on a cold plate that had a chip in it, and the chicken was covered with barely warm sauce. I want to like the restaurant, but.

We had a starter of Penne which was superb and had a wonderful mixed grill which was delicious but far too much food for 2. Our favorite Brunello wine completed the experience EVERYONE this is the best Italian restaurant in Calgary a must go!

My "go to" when I don't feel like making my own sauce & I'm a huge fan of their whole wheat baguettes! Team is always friendly and I have never had a bad experience.

We love love love the pasta and the steak so much. Francois our server was a very friendly and jolly person he helped us pick the best food to to order than can be shared for 4. The patios is well setup is very neat. There's some heaters than you can request if you're feeling cold. Will definately repeat

Best takeout of pasta we have ever had! We had a salad and two different pasta dishes. Price point was a little higher then some but worth ever Penny! Can’t wait to order again! Everyone needs to try this place

She also went to the extent of saying that Aspen people have not complained and everything sells. So really, she doesn t want to do anything to make this better.interesting in these times. This is the place to thoroughly enjoy the awesome food served fresh daily. I also bought a frozen lasagna and am thrilled to inform it was fantastic a week later when I had dinner. No, I didn't share, it was to amazing! Enjoy your next meal at Nercato!

We had a very nice dinner here on Friday night to celebrate a small family occasion! We took advice from a friend who frequently visits this restaurant and ordered Cozze (mussels) for appetizer, Risotto (Italian rice) for first course, and Bistecca (rib steak) for second course. Wow, we were absolutely blown away by the food! The spicy wine and cream broth in Cozze was so tasty that we dipped bread in it just to finish it. The steak and rice were also well prepared and delicious. My kids are picky eaters but they enjoyed the food very much! I like the atmosphere and the decor, as well as the open kitchen concept! It’s a great place for any occasion!

Very limited drink menu. Way over priced wine. The family size selection are a good idea however the food was very bland. The restaurant is extremely noisy. I would not recommend this place at all.

What a fantastic little gem! The restaurant is a must go for date night if you're in or around the area. The food is incredible, the staff is lovely and, of course, the wine list is extensive! On the other side of the building is a little Italian market if you want to bring the flavours home. I would highly recommend if you want a nice night out in West Calgary!

Good service, delicious food. Some dishes are truly to share by 2-3 people. Other dishes are smaller than "advertised". All in all a nice place.

Been here 10 or more times and the food is always absolutely amazing! So full of flavor! You could just close your eyes and point at the menu and I promise you, whatever you order will be top notch. We tried the Taglietelli this time. Which is just pasta and tomato sauce and even that blew me away. How they make something simple taste so incredible is beyond me!

Always AMAZING! Absolute best Italian restaurant in Calgary. I highly recommend the 'pasta of the day'. I always go with this and am always happy with the choice.

Bruschetta is very good. Two different toppings. Mushroom risotto excellent with truffle cheese. Pulled boar in a pomodoro sauce also excellent. A little pricey. Will go again

Food and service were outstanding, it was my first time there and will definitely be looking to go back. They were able to accommodate my gluten-free and pork-free requirements, the server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for high quality, fresh Italian food!

We love the food here but man the service is just horrible. They keep changing their menu especially the stuff that is on the popular side. The servers are always rushed, reminding you that you have to be out by a certain time. There is a guy bald server, he is the worst server in the world.

Unbelievable service by Patrick, amazing gnocchi, cheese and rare, imported wines. Everything here is said to be freshly/regularly imported, straight from the motherland. I have FINALLY had Italian food! Everything else I've had up to this point was NOTHING compared to Mercato!

If you like Westernized Italian food this place is great. The portions are almost American style, so I would recommend you share it rather than ordering too much. The menu options were good and the quality and taste of the food delicious. This particular location has plenty of parking and easy access if you are in the SW of Calgary.

The food in the restaurant in amazing. However, they took a lot out of their market that I wish they still had.
