MIC Medical Imaging - SouthPointe

I originally was booked into a facility in Cold Lake, but after waiting 3 weeks I had my appointment canceled due to sick staff. So I called my clinic and Michelle got me an appointment at MCI in Fort Saskatchewan.

Right from the moment I got in the door, I was made very comfortable, I was early, so I sat down expecting to wait a considerable time. Within minutes, I was in a change room, and in getting my ultrasound. You'll have to forgive me I'm not great with names, but the ultrasound tech was one of the most professional and thorough techs I've ever seen. She listened to all of my inquiries and stories while working, which really made me relax. After she was done, she confirmed with the Dr that that was all the images he required, then after a short wait it was off to xray where again I was met by a very professional young lady, again quickly done. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who requires ultrasound or xrays.

I believe they have certain policies that their technicians follow regarding showing the screen or turning on the TV available in the room so a patient being examined can follow the progress of ultrasound scans. It was disappointing to not be able to follow along with the technician. Other imaging centres allow for patients to view as the scan is moving along. This policy to not share the view from the patient was upsetting no matter what the outcome of a scan, making the patient unnecessarily anxious and upset. I will not be visiting a MIC clinic again and I will discourage any person on visiting a MIC location and instead suggest they go to other imaging centres.

In hindsight, the facilities were clean and comfortable, appointments were timely and as a patient I did not wait long in the waiting room.

I had a health concern and even though I didn't have my rec.yet, the one who answered my call very understanding and assisted me. Further investigation was booked shortly after and that too was promt.

The staff here are super friendly and very knowledgeable. Easiest mammogram I've had so far. The bone density procedure was explained so well. Two thumbs up for the amazing technician. Definitely my go to place for imaging.

The waiting room was very comfortable. They took me in, for my appointment, right away. The place was very clean. The staff, who did my tests, were very professional and caring. It was a very good experience.

I went in for a mammogram and the tech was so great and gentle, she explained everything she was doing as she was doing it. I wish I remembered her name.
My last mammogram was terrible. So this gal was fantastic!

I've been to this location for 2/3 of my pregnancies. I chose to return to this location, even though I had since moved back to Edmonton, because of my great previous experience. At my most recent visit, the ultrasound technician was very friendly, patient, made me feel comfortable, and happily answered any questions I had. Another positive experience and was worth the drive. I highly recommend!
