I am a frequent flyer of Michaels for craft supplies. This is my go-to location for whatever I need. I always find the staff very friendly and helpful. They are often understaffed, but that is not their fault. The staff who are there and available are always lovely and often recognize me as a return customer.
I always feel welcomed in there and feel that it is a safe place for those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Really love that they had lots of pride items this year! Really love the pride buttons they had!
I often order online to pickup large quantities of DMC thread, and my orders are always correct and processed quickly!
Good store for all things crafting and the odd hobby item. Stock this time around was fairly low however but that's likely due to their sale promotion. Staff was friendly and helpful.
They are a good store for arts and craft supplies but should stay out of framing art. They have no idea what they are doing. We took a Bateman, Brender and a college certificate for framing. The Bateman and brender they never bothered using any matting so use can see the print stencil information on the edge of the art. The certificate is crooked. We have to get all three redone by a gallery that actually understands framing. We paid a lot of money for garbage.
A fantastic craft store with paint supplies, ribbon yarn, frames, fabric, stitching supplies and rotational holiday displays. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Won't be back. I'll be ordering my craft supplies from Amazon going forward. The whole reason I walk into a brick and mortar store front these days is for the customer service - which "should be" the competitive advantage to online shopping. This store offered an exceptionally poor customer experience. I visited on November 3rd at 8: 00pm. When I politely requested to know where the scrap book supplies, the customer service agent seemed agitated and pointed "over there, " as he walked past us. After searching the area which was poorly organized, we gave up. On the way out of the store, the young man was spending his time chatting about current events with the store staff at the front registers. Good luck with your customer service model going forward. I do not recommend this store.
I love having assistance in finding items & seem to luck out regardless of location in finding a sales person to show me where items are. Sales staff are knowledgeable & helpful. They realize the importance of customer service. Something many other businesses don't pay attention to.

Beth is an angel! So beyond helpful, patient, and sweet! Definitely not my local Michael’s but I always go out of my way to this location whenever I have project I need help with, she is the only one I’ll trust!
Cleanest and neatest Michael's I've ever seen. Very easy to navigate. Everything in its place, the merch was very straight & neat on the shelves, signage was very legible and placed where you could see it, and knew what it was referring to. A pleasure to wander the aisles and see what's new.
For a craft store it's okay, call before you visit, especially if you're looking to pick up somethong you saw online. They might not have it in store. A little disappointing that they don't carry Barge.
Have a nice variety of arts tools here and I love getting my paper here because of their vast selection. Staff are also super super friendly and helpful and it just made my experience great all around.
Dropped off an item for framing, was told two weeks, but not to worry, I would be called or emailed as soon as it was ready. 3 weeks later, I call, and wait on hold for 15 minutes, just to be told is was ready 10 days ago. Pitiful customer service, absolutely embarrassing given the money being spent to frame something. I won't be returning.
They have almost everything you need, but in the end I still have to order some specific items online. Perfect for kids, great for most beginners, and hit or miss for actual artists.
Not sure why this company still have their US pricing featured on products - the pricing is ambiguous- about 30% higher than CDN prices on tags! They gouge Canadian consumers! Nice products though!
Sad they don't accept tap to pay, like the entire rest of Calgary. I was so excited to spend 45mins browsing the store and picking out a bunch of stuff, only to have to leave empty handed because I only had my phone with me to tap. No card.
I love to go and browse this store - because there are a lot great ideas in every isle. I am a bit disappointed though, Because they sent out a flyer with most of the items on sale were sold out in store and online long before the flyer came. I looked online before I went to the store, to make sure they had the item, it clearly stated that yes indeed they had stock in store. I proceeded to the store only to find that they had been SOLD OUT for a week already.
Had a return that was older than 6 months they would not return with my receipt. With COVID and moving houses I just discovered it packed away. They wouldn't even consider offering a store credit even though the product is still available and being sold in stores. They told me they only offer store credit for people who don't have a receipt - I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
I was referred to the manager who was completely unempathetic and rude. I have my own business and wouldn't dare treat a customer the way she treated me - offering ZERO solutions except, "6 months is a long enough time for you to have returned it" and "that's store policy". I have been a long time customer of Michaels, and used to use them for supplying my craft workshop business where I referred hundreds of customers. Say good-bye to my business.
It's no secret they are highly overpriced - they used to offer discounts that made it worth shopping here, but have done away with that, now only offering a one-item coupon that they sneakily exclude a lot of products from hiding it under the guise of "everyday low value" items that don't qualify. If you love arts and crafts, you can find the same items and many more on Amazon or Aliexpress for 1/10th of the price. I will not be shopping here anymore.
My wife shops here lol not me. I go to Bestbuy while she looks at craft stuff. I've rarely seen a dude walk in by himself. If a guy walks in there, he's with his wife or daughter.
The black Friday specials advertised in the flyer did not appear as discounted items at the till. The clerk was not aware of what was on sale. He did honor the discounts but I had to request them
I found the item online and was able to purchase it from at the Westhills location at the advertised sale price. Although, I needed assistance from one of associates to help find it within the store. She was very friendly and helpful.
Came here on a Saturday at 3: 30 looking for a couple of specific items. I must have walked around for 20 minutes trying to locate a staff member to ask for help. I left because apart from the cashiers (and there was a huge lineup), there were no employees to be found.
Called in advance to see if they had something, the guy on the phone said yes. So I went all the way there to find out they were out of what I needed. Poor costumer service!
Great selection of crafting items. Clean and well-organized. The framing shop does a good job on custom framing. Staff is very helpful. Unfortunately, the things I was looking for were out of stock and they do not offer rainchecks on sale items.
I don't come to this location often but I was really impressed with the staff and store yesterday. Just stopped in for a couple craft kits and was asked quite a few times throughout my time there if I needed help finding anything and if I was doing ok. It was great.
