I dislike writing negative reviews & I apologize if this isn't easy to follow, but I'm super frustrated & actually angry, because being disabled & having to do all that running around, when you called before you drove 2 hrs to the store to make sure that there was stock of a certain large item & to have one placed up front for you to then just to be told they sold out in an hour first thing in the morning, irked me to say the least. If the item I was purchasing for my daughter was sold somewhere else they would have lost my business that day. Their website says they have plenty of stock at their locations online, you get to the store to find out they have none, repeated this, finally the 3rd Micheals we went to had Stock that they showed online. I really dislike their website, it is a mess. It shows that their stores are sold out of stock, but when you go into the store they have plenty on their shelves. Since all stores don't have the same stock or same items, it's hard to order for pickup when you have to run around to many different locations to do so, especially when it's sold out for online ordering. It costs way to much to ship to me when ordering online, as that's what they told me to do. They send you discounts or money off your order for doing a survey for them, but you can't even use them as most of their stock you can't use it on, or at least all the items I go there for. I was promised a discount for my troubles but couldn't use it on my order as like I said above, nothing I purchase is eligible for any discounts. I gave them 2 stars instead of none because they do carry some good items but for me it's not worth the hassle & I won't be shopping there again.
I came in looking for a certain colour of yarn and couldn't find it on the shelves, so I asked one of the employees if they carried it and they came back with 4 huge bundles of it in no time! Michaels employees have always been huge help in my projects so Im very glad I have a store so close to my house!
Staff was amazing but proroduce coupons for the the store that I couldn't even use on a regular item. What's the point then unless expressly noted on the the coupon can't be used on specific store item. I'm talking $8 difference on an item
I love the staff here. They take social distancing seriously, and all staff had mask and cleaning supplies available for carts. 100% felt safe and welcomed. There on-line ordering is also smooth. Good job!
There was only 1 cashier working mid afternoon during the week. There was 4 ppl standing in line. A customer asked an employee if someone could open another till. I waited 10 min in line.not impressed
I was looking at something in an aisle and a store worker helped direct a customer to something directly behind me and absolutely no effort was made to maintain 6 ft distance. Extremely disappointed with the staff member as well as the customer for not caring. It made me extremely uncomfortable especially since she had a small child that also seemed oblivious to the 6ft distance rule. Thanks for not caring about customer safety.
I went to Michael's this evening and really enjoyed the experience. The two people that were working this evening were so helpful and pleasant. I don't often get to this location but will try to do so more often if this is the type of staff they have.
Doesn't mandate masks for customers. Saw a person enter the store without a mask and just happened to stand behind me in checkout. If you're exempt for health reasons, do curbside and stop being selfish. Extremely disappointed in this Michael's. Most businesses have mandatory mask policies.
I experienced racial profiling at this location. Staff should not exhibit anxiety due to someone's race or the need to link implicit biases to negative stereotypes, such behavior or actions simply do not belong in an educated, multicultural society as this.
We went to pick up a few things at the store. There was hardly anything on the shelves so we asked the staff if the store was closing. She laughed and said no but there was a sale on. In the end we could only find 2 items we went to buy. They should have been restocking the shelves and putting out more product for the customers.
Staff are helpful. Selection is good. Prices are TO HIGH. I believe the prices should the same here as in the U S. I fell that because the company is from the states they take advantage of Canadians. Even at 80 or 90 % off they are making a profit. They don't need high prices when they pretty well have the monopoly on craft supplies.
The staff was super helpful, store was clean, great deals. Was quite disappointed that the item I wanted was sold out only display was left and they dont have the plugins with them. Manager was unwilling to discount further due to this. So I of course passed because why would you pay same price for something you need to then put out another $30 to have it function.
They have handled the entire COVID situation so well. Every staff member is courteous and helpful. Store is always SUPER clean. The curbside pick up is so handy and they are so fast. Every staff member has been a ray of positivity, something everyone needs more of these days!
They have run out of quite a bit of their yarn selection so there wasn’t a lot of variety. However the staff was very polite and helpful. There were also a lack in colouring/ craft materials that said they were in stock online but I could not find (not could the employees) when we got there
I love the staff here. They take social distancing seriously and all staff had mask and cleaning supplies available for carts. 100% felt safe and welcomed. There online ordering is also smooth. Good job guys
Somehow this store always manages to annoy me or let me down in some way. I won't get into details but they have had their down points. Like candle wicks. Who knew this would be such an exclusive item.
Lovely store, honestly only complaint is literally the customers. Every time I frequent the store, there are customers screaming at the staff that they want to just be given a coupon, or about the everyday value policy. As a previous Michaels staff member, I can tell you that the staff are not allowed to give out coupons anymore, and that the customers need to bring them with them. That is literally corporate policy, and staff can get in a lot of trouble for giving away discounts. It is not this staffs fault that staff at other locations do not follow those rules. They also cannot do anything about the everyday value program. Have issues with those policies? Call corporate. Don't scream at staff members for doing their job the way they were shown to do it. They need that job more than you need 50% off your 2$ stamp.
The crafty people in my family love this place. It's not really my thing, but I can appreciate the vadt selection of items and good customer service. The prices seem rather high (like ouch high) on most items unless you catch a frequent sale or have a coupon.
Their Creme Brulee coissant was amazing and the cake sampler was a great way to try all of the flavours of cakes. It was clean and service was quick and friendly.
I called this store two weeks prior to my visit and asked about basswood for carving. I was told they carry this type of wood but they were out of stock at that time. 2 weeks go by and I was in the area so I stopped in to see if some stock had come in. Didn't see any. I looked for a staff member after a short search I found 3 members giggling in an isle together on what appeared to be a safety meeting. When I asked about the basswood the blank stares I got almost made me giggle. One of the staff did take me back to the area I had just been to confirm there was no carving wood there. When I mentioned I had called and was told they were out of stock. I was informed I was wrong because they don't stock such wood. Staff there need a little touch up on inventory and maybe customer services skills.
Staff was hard to come by. The first one I found told me where to go and offered to call in someone to the department. No one showed up. I waited for 15 minutes and had to go to the cashier's to get one of them to help. One seemed to be training another. So hopefully the future is bright. Other than that they have a great selection and decent prices. Alot of weekly specials as well.
Fantastic place to check off little niche craft items you might need. Also a great place to look as you’re preparing to change decor for the coming holiday season. Don’t forget to check for coupons online, before you buy. Although the staff will typically let you know if there is a 50%Off coupon available when you ask them. If you don’t ask you don’t get. Can’t say I’d run a business any other way though.
Great place for crafting items. They seem to have everything you would need. This location also has a crafting room that can be booked for events or birthdays, but they often host crafting lessons in there. Ensure you sign up for the Michael's rewards, so that you can get the weekly 50% off coupons.
Horrible customer service as no one on floor. Finally found what I wanted myself and went to pay and got told they couldn’t take my American nickel (as change for a purchase over 100.00) as they don’t accept that as currency. Will not be back to this location!
Love walking around here and could easily go broke if not careful really nice staff, knowledgeable and attenative without being pushy. Shout out to Devon and Olga for being so nice and helpful
Michaels is the BEST! But they could have more art supplies and it would be nice if you didn't have to have a coupon to make stuff worth buying. It is so marked up.
