I asked multiple times while booking how long the appointment should last so that I can prepare as I am a business owner. The lady on the phone told me on three different occasions approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I Checked my vehicle in for my appointment @130 pm and I was rudely told that my car will take the time it’s going to take. They close at 6 and they would call me as to what time I could pick it up and if they got to it that day it would be completed by close or they would contact me in the morning when complete.

As a mom of little children, this was not ideal. I rearranged my whole entire day to make the appointment and that it would work with my schedule and my kids schedule.

Would not recommend this location. Potentially there is other locations that serve their customers appropriately this will not be one.

Dreadful service, hubby arrived for a noon appointment, was told it would be 30 minutes before they could even get his car into a bay to work on it. At 1.45 hubby took his keys back and left as there was still no sign of the car being even looked at. No apologies, no offering of re booking, no customer service skills apparent at all! Complete waste of a drive from over an hour away, waste of 2 hours and a totally disrupted day, not recommended at all.

This store improperly installed a manifold in my parents car. It broke down twice costing us over $3000 which they refused to honour. They will rip off seniors and lie. Avoid this place at all costs for any serious repair. They ripped off an 88 year old women on a fixed income. Shameful.

Kevin has been excellent over the years. Special attention on a tire exchange to ensure I got the right tire matched properly. 5 star

Came in yesterday to get a quote for tires and I have to say this was my 3rd place to get a quote and KEVIN was so fantastic and helpful that we knew this is the place we wanted to give our business to.

Had my Oil change done and really like the way how they do their customer service. Kevin and Marissa was very professional and explained thoroughly what is needed to be done for my vehicle and gave recommendations which is extremely helpful especially for someone like me that does not know much about vehicle maintenance. I came the next day to have my calipers replaced (as I thought it was needed) and these guys are very honest with their business and told me that I do not needed it and my brakes just needs some cleaning. These guys are not some cash grabbers like others, They will tell you with integrity if there is something that is really needs to be done. Many businesses can do an excellent service but Integrity towards business is something that these guys sets a miles apart from the others. These guys are awesome!

I was quoted $400.00 but when I went to pay they wanted $590.00! They took $50 off but insisted I pay $540.00. I am submitting a complaint to AMVIC as this is against the law! DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE SHAME ON YOU MIDAS!

Very helpful shop, The guy at the front desk took the time to try and figure out the problem. Took for test drive and fixed within few hours. Reasonable ship rates and would recommend them. You have to book in advance, little chance if walk in being available.

Took my vehicle in for a continuous squealing noise and I explained that it felt like the brakes were a bit sticky and I felt the noise may have been because of that. They misdiagnosed the issue and then charged me almost $800 to fix it.which was $150 more than they had quoted.
Because the issue was misdiagnosed, I still had the same squealing noise. Midas then felt like my vehicle needed a front brake service to fix the issue and offered to do it for free as compensation. Shawn was dismissive when I picked up the car after the service. He provided no work order to show what had been done and was very short on explaining the work. He simply gave me back my key and said that if the squealing noise continued, it is probably due to defective parts and not their fault.
In the end, the squealing noise is better but not gone completely. So I ended up paying almost $800, losing the use of my vehicle for 2 days, and the issue still isn't completely fixed. Very poor service and definitely NOT recommended.

Charged me a diagnostics fee then told me it was gonna cost me 2500 to fix my truck. So I payed to have it towed home and it cost me 5 bucks to fix it. What they said was wrong with was right but they didn't do the easy thing and actually check the threads. They just assumed the worst and tried to charge accordingly. Will never step foot in there again trying to rip off people is not cool.

Had a head light burnt out brought in own lightbulbs the car was sitting for extra 30mins finished in the bay, person drove my car out in dirty clothes nothing put on my seat to protect it from oily clothing and they tired to keep the other light bulb that we brought in as only one head light was burnt and the bulbs we brought in was a pack of 2 had to return into store to ask for it as well when was told it was in the car. Not impressed with service at all. Will not be returning

We are so happy that Shawn frizzle is back here in the St Albert location. Shawn has always looked after us with the best customer service/experience we’ve ever had in dealing with vehicle service and repairs. I highly recommend to everyone who needs car service done, there is no one better in northern alberta

DO NOT GO TO MIDAS ST. ALBERT! They wasted 2 days and could not fix a simple brake sensor issue on my Toyota, but they charged me for it. They told me to go Toyota and they promised to compensate me for the cost of fixing. Toyota discovered that they caused more damage in the process which required additional service. I also discovered that they charged me double for the part compared to what Toyota charged me and it was only an OEM part. Toyota provided me photos and the damaged parts to show them. Not only have they avoided the issues over email, but I have been asking for a phone call to discuss this and it's been weeks and nothing. They kept my money and did not compensate me. My friends and colleagues were quite disgusted by my experience with them and will never ever go back to Midas. It's too bad Midas is more concerned about taking my money than losing thousands. We can't go back to a company that lacks knowledge, professionalism, and integrity.

After having consistently poor experiences at other mechanical shops, I can honestly say, as a woman (yep, I’ll play that card), I have gotten used to being talked down to by mechanics, treated as though I couldn’t possibly understand an explanation of my vehicle’s mechanics, or that I won’t be able to afford the services. I have an older vehicle that most shops attempt to talk me into getting rid of without taking the time to ask me what I actually want to accomplish. What they don’t know, is that I’ve had many new vehicles, but this particular one is dear to me and one I want to restore and continue to enjoy for years to come. I’ll be honest—I called Midas on a whim. I was desperate to get some work done and they were the only ones that could get me in on a Saturday before close. I had no idea what the source of the sound my vehicle was making was. Once at Midas, they did a full diagnostic of my vehicle, taking the time to not only send me a video of my vehicle on the hoist (the first time I’ve ever actually seen underneath that beast), but then to have their staff Braden call me and explain exactly what I was looking at. He not only walked me through the video, he took the time to explain what needed to be done, why it needed to be done and what I was looking at cost wise. He was incredibly charismatic and up front and didn’t beat around the bush. He didn’t assume I could/couldn’t afford it, or treat me like I didn’t understand. He educated me on the value of the services and the urgency in which I needed to get them done. It was the first time in my entire driving career that I felt FULLY informed and that he had my safety and best interests in mind. Albeit knowing I would have to spend a small fortune to keep my vehicle road safe, I was able to make that decision with the education and knowledge to understand the purpose of each cost. At no point did I feel like I was being “sold to” or jerked around. Braden went out of his way to ensure I felt comfortable with the information and waited for my response in what I was capable of spending in the moment. He categorized each service in terms of what absolutely needed to be completely all the way to what could safely wait. As someone that relies on my vehicle to not only get myself to work, also to drive around children, it gave me piece of mind to know that my safety and understanding was his highest priority. This one experience has completely redeemed my confidence in the automotive industry and has also created a lifelong customer. Also—props to Lindsay at the front, her bubbly personality and kindness made me feel instantly welcome.

I brought my mother’s car in to get summer tires installed, I didn’t have an appointment but Lindsey squeezed her in right away. She was friendly, polite and professional. She made my mother feel comfortable and my mom will be bringing her car there for any future repairs.

Over quoted me for a simple exhaust job that should've been no more than 1 hour of labour+supplies. Tried to charge me 2.5 hours of Labour, so their staff are either incompetent or crooked. Took my vehicle to park muffler and had the job completed for 1 hour labour+supplies as expected.

Would recommend and will go back. I think they were honest with me. They are very friendly and on time.

Really slow. My St. Albert location booked me an appointment for 10. I got there in time but they still didn't take me in until almost 11.

I recently got some service done at this location. It was my first and definitely not my last visit. Braden and the back staff were very helpful and explained in detail what the issue was and showed me where the leak was coming from. I've never had a shop do that before, I was very impressed.

It is with great sadness that I have decided to end my business relationship with Midas in St. Albert as a result of the service I received there this past weekend. After being a loyal customer for 4 years, I have made the choice not to attend their shop any longer, or to recommend them to anyone I know. I am also disappointed that the manager was very unaware of my dissatisfaction even though HE was the cause of my decision to longer solicit this location for tire service. It began with setting up an appointment to change over my tires from summer tires to winter tires (not on rims) clearly noted at the time of the online booking, like I had done on many previous occasions. The scheduled appointment (confirmed with a text to me from Midas) was for 9am. I arrived at 9am. Upon arrival; confirming my appointment for the tire change over, I then asked the manager about purchasing tires for the Summer, paying for them and storing them over the Winter at their location and asked if this was something that they offered. He said yes, and provided me a quote. I took the quote, asked him how long the tire change over would take and he informed me that it would take 2-3 hours. I said terrific as I had a ride and could leave and come back within that time frame. After 4 hours I had heard nothing from Midas and my ride needed to drop me off so she drove me to the location. As I entered the building I noticed my car in the parking lot, not having moved.no service had been done. Again, this is 4 hours after I dropped it off. I went inside the shop. The manager approached me and without me asking any questions he started into his sound making. "I'm still waiting on the delivery truck, it should be here shortly with your tires. " I said: "What are you talking about? ", the tires are in the back of my car! " He then says, "Oh, I thought we were waiting for the tires you wanted? " I said to him again in a more startled, surprised voice: "what are you talking about? ", I came for a tire change-over and simply asked you about a quote for Summer tires for later, why would we be waiting for tires! " He then says, oh, I must have misunderstood and then begins to tell me that they don't make appointments, to which I replied, Midas sent me a text confirming the appointment! He said that he would get the car in right away. I left the shop as I was able to get a ride home. I then came back to the shop 2 hours later at 3 pm and waited inside for them to complete the work. At 3: 45 they finished the change-over and I explained I had to go as I had a very important appointment scheduled for 4pm and I had to leave right away. The manager created the bill and then. I wanted to ensure that he understood I was not going to be purchasing tires from him because (unlike the manager) I am very aware of people and had a strong feeling that he was assuming that I was going to purchase the tires from him that he had only provided me a quote for so I said, "and I'll let you know about those tires and your quote. " He looks at me with great surprise and says, I thought you were taking them, they are right outside, I had them delivered. I said No, I am going to think about it (I had already thought about it on my long walk to the shop in -7 weather for 45 minutes as I had no ride at the time to get my car and had made my decision). Here's the kicker, I finally put it together as to how all of this happened, and unfortunately I will NOT take any responsibility for the misunderstanding. I asked for a quote, he provided the quote, ordered the tires, put my service on hold (the tire change over) until the tires arrived at his shop, so that he could complete a transaction and ensure a sale as well as the change over. And how do I know this, because when I was waiting in the lobby after 3pm there was another customer waiting and when he was done I said to that customer: "How long did you wait today? " and he replied, not long at all, I came in, the tires I needed were right there (points to an empty space on the floor) and they hooked me up. I felt betrayed.

Made an appointment for a inspection at 9 am. The guy told me they couldn't give me a time when it would be done, said they were too busy, was very rude. Told me everywhere was like that, Icancelled my appointment, took my car down the street to gate Ave tire and auto, staff was friendly, took my car today, let me know how long it would be.
Must be nice to be so busy this day and age that you can treat your customers so poorly.

The General Manager Braden at the St Albert Midas was very rude to my wife, step father and brother inlaw and claimed it was his stress very unprofessional. He made us feel like we were not welcome as customers and treated us like we didnt know what we are talking about. We were bone dry on oil 5 days after our oil change here and our engine and undercarriage completely doused in oil which nearly caused our engine to seize and put our family at risk. We went in with zero problems and left leaking everywhere we have pictures and proof and they still wont own up to their mistakes. Dont trust the midas touch unless you want to end up in a world of trouble with your vehicle.

Drove our vehicle to this location, they drove it into the shop. Replaced the muffler and exhaust pipes and then it wouldn’t stay running. A week later they told us they couldn’t figure it out and now it won’t even start. Ended up having it towed to our mechanic at our expense. Mechanic found that it wouldn’t start because they put the spark plug wires on the wrong spark plugs, and it wouldn’t stay running because the ‘Y’ exhaust pipe they installed was partially blocked (whoever welded the piece onto the pipe to make it a ‘Y’ forgot to cut a hole in the pipe before welding it on)! So confronted manager at Midas with the pipe and demanded they refund us for the mechanics labour and our towing bill. We’ve been told the company responsible for the pipe is in the process of sending us a cheque. That was 6 weeks ago! I guess we’re hiring a lawyer. Take your business to a local, reputable business, forget franchises, they don’t care about customer service!

I showed up for the appointment i re booked and they didnt have me booked in! I went somewhere else and paid more and got a courtesy car. Gate ave services is way better

I bought new tires from here and from start to finish the service was very pleasant. The service manager Braden was great and went above and beyond to get my vehicle in and accommodate my schedule. Great price, service and explanation of the process and vehicle service recommendation. I will definitely bring my vehicle in for future fixing!

I took a vehicle in that someone started to steal the catalytic converter off but was unsuccessful because they were run off before completing. It was still there. Midas tried charging $500 to patch it but we settled at $350 which was still to high. A week later, I had another catalytic converter stolen off another car that they were successful. I took it to another muffler shop off of baseline rd in Sherwood park and they fixed it up for under $200. The whole time I dealt with Midas, I felt like I was dealing with a shady mechanic that somehow scrapped up the funds to start a brick and mortar location. I won’t be back.

The staff are hardworking and are courteous and value your time. And they point out possible safety issues with your car without pressuring you into buying anything.

This place and the staff are outstanding. Braden makes it his mission to go above and beyond for you. And in emergencies like we had made it doable. Thank you so much for being the outstanding people you are. You are an amazing repair center. Keep it up and I'll be coming in from Fawcett Alberta just to have this level service.

Recently had my Catalytic Converter stolen. And was told by my own mechanic that I just need to put in a pipe, in place of my converter. There ware many reasons to remove it. But the guy over the counter said that he couldn’t install a pipe, only a catalytic converter. Duping me into giving this place $500 instead of welding a piece of pipe for maybe $200-$300. Because I couldn’t go anywhere else, being to afraid I would get a fine for a loud car, I had no choice but to spend $500. Never going back there again, if they try to do that to anybody else.

~Change to Inital Review~

After an initial poor experience with an associate at this location, I left feeling disappointed.

A few days later, I was contacted by a very professional individual by the name of Braden, and he was able to empathetically clear up the scenario from my previous visit. He booked me back in for a follow-up visit and I left my car for repairs.

The vehicle was done in a timely manner, and the exhaust work they completed was fully up to par with my expectations, as well as kept at a very reasonable price.

Despite the unfortunate first visit, Braden's professionalism and subsequent actions have ensured that I will be bringing my cars back for more custom work at this location, as well as recommend this store to my own associates.

This team always provides nothing short of exceptional service. I trust the back of house completely to do a top notch job. And Braden up front always makes vehicle problems the best experience it could be. I'm not super vehicle savvy, so he always explains everything to me in a way so that I can learn but don't feel like I'm being talked down to. He's super professional and is always really friendly. This spot is the only place I'll take my vehicles. And my parents go here too specifically because of the quality of service.

You can really tell this location is big on customer service. The man at the front desk (Shawn) was SO kind. Got me in right away and even gave me a good price on my oil change for my little car. If you're in Edmonton take the extra 10-15 drive to the st Albert location. So glad I did!

Asked them to cut out the old rotten exhaust pipe and replace with all new pipe they were willing to cut most of it but not the part with the catalytic converter. Sure enough a couple months Later rotten pipe broke again. Next time they still wouldn't cut out the cat but were able to make me a piece of pipe flared at both ends for me to weld in to place one of the flared ends was way too big.

L love taking my vehicle to Midas.l get oil changes done there, they have a great staff who know what they're doing.

St. Albert Midas is my go to for auto care. Shawn, Bob and the crew are always amazing! Super friendly and honest about what needs to be fixed and what can wait for now, which is great when your on a tight budget. I wouldn’t trust anywhere else with my vehicle.

Had a breakdown on Saturday. Called Midas and they listened and advised they could repair Monday morning as I could likely get the truck there just before they closed. I did manage to get it there 1/2 an hour before they closed. Suspected problem was a cable clip for the transmission. It was the problem although there was a bit of an issue. Midas called to discuss and explain. Really on the ball with communication.
I would go back for any issue within their range of expertise.

Got an oil change then they will tell you got problem on your car and when you refuse to have them do the service (thought of sending it to my car dealer), you will leave with your car sound in very bad condition which wasn't there before you hand them your key.
Very disappointed.

I have been coming to Midas St Albert for a year or so. I have always received excellent service and have ALWAYS been given better than competitive rates. I have had Chris service my vehicles multiple times and specifically request him anytime I bring my vehicle in. This past spring I had one issue after another and Chris was awesome, explaining and showing what was wrong and how it needed to be repaired and if it could wait. He's someone I can totally trust and I've been very happy here!

It again was a wonderful experience to vist Midas. They go the extra mile and really take car of your vehicle and me. They check everything even on a oil change. I’m very impressed. Thank you Bob and the technician

I went there to fix my car headlights. First they qoute me for $135 labor. Then when I get back I have to pay $335 in total? When I checked my headlights I don't think so they dried it before putting their specific glue. All the moist and water are still there. When I asked them they said it is normal because of the weather. I went to Go Honda, they told me it is not normal. Meaning it is not fix at all. What a waste of money. Not going back anymore. I spent that much for nothing. Really disappointed.
