Midas on Stoney plain on crooks and over charge for any service you flirt with. I learned this the hard way. First when I was over charged for my tires (noticed after I bought when comparing with other companies) which is my fault for not looking before hand but then I asked for a quote on changing the plug to the block heater and they try to give me a quote of 450 dollars when stadium repair said they can fix it for 35 bucks! So I called the manager to complain and instantly his ego took control of the conversation and hangs up on me cause I called him out and honestly this would be zero stars if I could

Never go back. FALTY DIAGNOSIS WITH HORRIBLE TECHNICAL ISSUES! Really upset and ruined my days. And they even didn’t notify me after they got this ridiculous serious result, I was waiting for an hour and go back by myself while they already finished in 20min. Cant believe a repair shop keep making money without professional skills and I didn’t got any apologies when I go to ask my money back. Don’t go here if you want reliable service to solve problems.

Great quality service. Expensive job but it was needed. As I was referred here, it was an overall fantastic experience. Herb was fantastic to work with and the other staff were quite helpful.

I recently had oil change service done on my vehicle VW Jetta here and am completely happy with the whole experience. Especially Cassidy and Brent, with the competitive quote and speedy turnaround. Would definitely recommend to everyone! A+

Avoid them they will lie and tell you stuff your car needs but in reality they are just trying to make money off you… took my car in for the “free” brake inspection and first the guy tried telling me it was only free if I used them, I said no that’s not that they said when I booked it, after agreeing he and 2 other “techs” tried telling me my car needed new pads rotors and calibers all the way around. Luckily rockauto was sold out of the calipers I wanted and I took my car into the dealership where they told me I only needed new front pads and rotors. Got it fixed at the dealership and saved $2000 beware of these crooks

Great service took good care of me asked them to do insurance inspection and take care of any problems for my suv would be safe for towing my camper and thats what they did.

If I can give this business a ZERO STAR I will. Drop our truck at 9am for appointment that we originally booked 48 hours prior. They never fixed it, we end up full day no vehicle cost us extra money for taking uber and the truck is just sitting there waiting to be fixed but they never did. So unprofessional not reliable im 100% sure of that. Never ever used this shop ever again!

Yesterday, January 31, I brought my vehicle for the appointment at 4 pm. It had two weird noises. Two guys were working in it for two hours. They showed me what and where the problem was.
I am very grateful for the attention, service and kindness.

The service I get with and for my vehicles is always 5 start and the payment options they offer are amazing.

Waited two hours for an alinment today, my appointment was for 1. I didn't get any kind of calls or anything that they were busy or even an update to let me know what's going on I kept having to go to the desk to ask how much longer until my car would go in they kept telling me that I would be next but there were three cars that went in front of me this is not how an appointment should work I should be told what's going on without having to find out myself I'm very disappointed in the poor time management and and lack of communication I don't think I'll be going with midas ever again or consider telling other people about midas.

I have been going to Midas on Stony Plain Rd west Edmonton for years. Have all my car services done there. They care, they make sure it is right and they don't over charge. And THAT is a company that respects their Customers.

Took wife’s car in for service and never will again, trying to claim vehicle needs brakes all 4 corners and pads are burnt right out and rotors glazed, meanwhile the car just had an out of province inspection just the month before and had over 60% life, tech barely knew how to lift the car took over 20 minutes of screwing around to just lift the car. Never will go here again and recommend no one does as they are just trying to scam innocent people to get work done they don’t need. Techs are clearly not knowledgeable. Stay very clear of this shop! Plus they are stupid enough to give me pictures that show exactly opposite of what they claim. Joke of a shop or techs at least.

I have been using Midas for years. I get the best customer service from Herb at the Stony Plain Road location. The repairs are consistently done well and always at a reasonable price. Rudy and all the employees there are friendly and helpful every time I go in with any of my vehicles.

I visited this service for a change of tires and a quote for some other work for my car. I specifically mentioned I wanted to keep my back tires as they were in very good condition but when I picked the car up they had them thrown and was just taken by an employee at the back who just stood there while I had to look for them, eventually did not and told them to call me when found. They never called obviously. The quote for the service was 3 times more than I got it elsewhere and they wanted to do a lot of unnecessary extra work. It’s a pity because I saw good reviews.

I paid 600$ for my brakes and they didn’t fix the issue. I told them that when I’m pressing the brake pedal there’s still vibration in it. They told me to come to check it but they changed they’re mind lol. They just said that the reason is in my tires

Last week I had some work done on my breaks and had them replaced. I noticed there were just some issues after installation, and when I called to express my concerns they fit me in right away and made the required adjustments no problem. To be honest, yes a mistake was made, however I was more than happy with the response from Midas.

One of the reasons I choose to always go to a Midas store is because of the Honesty, the detailed breakdown of what needs to be done, and them not pushing you to do something you dont need done right away. As a women I have found in the past I was quoted too high, and pressured to get work done that was not required. Midas always does what it takes to give you the best prices, and never pressures you to get something you do not need replaced or fixed right away.

I have always been treated with professionalism by everyone here They service exactly what you request and notify you of any concerns but don't push you to repair for a money grab. Very honest and transparent with you. Their prices are very reasonable and their service is top notch. I highly recommend this location to anyone who wants work done.

Never go to this place to do your brakes. I had changed my Rotor and brake pad. According to market price they had charged me $500 more than other mechanics. The sales guy was Bobby. I will never put my feet overthere.

We know some things about mechanics but when we dont have time at the shop to fix it I've serviced my vehicle at this location for approximately 5 years now at least a dozen trips. I've grown to trust the front desk manager of service and head of mechanics of whom I know are experienced not only on the tools but are well knowledged always available to educate by walking me through the mechanical repairs in detail. I know Ive never been overcharged or told that I needed more parts or service than what was required and always have the option of getting my old parts back. Im happy to provide a positive review that this business is well managed with fair prices, has gone above and beyond what I expected from them nearly every visit. Its nice to be well informed and learn new things. A substansial change from service received at the automotive dealerships! Its nice to know I have someone that cares about the safety and mechanics of my vehicle. Thank you to all that make the wheels turn at Midas Stony Plain Rd.

Very disappointed. Booked for an appointed for tire change. Called in to avail of a promotion, they changed the date to an earlier day and cancelled the original appt. Come appt day they said I am not in the system. I even showed the confirmation email but No accommodation was given since it was their fault. Bad experience, bad service. I am not going back.

Been here several times and often the repair bill is a fraction of what l was expecting! Good honest service!

This is an update about my car, first of all Midas did not care about my complaint, never get back to me, I went to Euro Auto specialist and he found a big mess, Midas caused damages to my car, the filter used was very cheap and installed incorrectly! When I went back to Midas after the service within one day, and complained about the noise, they neglect my complaint! No body cares or inspected.
The oil used was very bad, not proper for BMW burnt within 3 weeks. The oil was leaking through the cheap filter spilled over the alternate. The plug! They have not used my original plug but a Mercedes one and it was dripping! After all today's findings, the shop will write a report for me and I will report them to AMVIC. Photo attached!

Be aware and think twice before using this location, not professional service, and I ended up fixing what they damaged! I went for an oil change, and for sure, they did their courtesy check to ask for more work; they broke my collector box clips, and I noticed the sound right over the service and reported that to the store manager, and he said it. It is not their fault!

They had a sign oil change for $59, they give you a coupon, and when you go there they tell you it is not for Euro car, and they can not use the oil that they have a promotion, and they charged me 1

Another thing! I had a flat tire, asked for repair, they said it was not repairable, and they offered me a new tire for 600! While I went to a tire shop across the street, he fixed it for me for only $ 45. It's a shame to mislead customers; what happened told me two things, they could not fix my tire because they are not professional or did not fix it to sell me a new tire. In both cases, it's a shame, and I would never use them again. Be aware and do not use them!

We had another bad experience a few months ago with my aunt, who has a Jeep Cherokee, she wants our change, and they gave her that list of the hazard. She had to flush the gearbox fluid and brake fluid, and as a worried woman and she trusted the, she accepted that, and after their service, her car antifreeze spilled, and her engine was overheated; I don't know what they did. But no one from our family will use this company anymore. No trust and no professionalism. Horrible experience. And I went back to tell them what I was driving on the tire that wasted its garbage. I found that they damaged my collector box clip, the manager was, smiling and he did n not care, but I am glad that I told them their reality and what happened proof to me they don't care about their customers.

I was a Midas customer for a number of years. Initially I thought the service was good, however I started to have problems requiring me to return my vehicle 2 or 3 times to have the same work done. I have had cabin heat problems that has cost me hundreds of dollars and several trips back for repairs that still have not corrected the problem. I'm tired of the poor service and the inadequate diagnostics. I now have a vehicle with squealing brakes, no heat and a dead battery. I am now a "Former" Midas customer.

Didn't honor their promotion discount. Charged me the regular price for the oil change anyways. I didn't bother arguing. They wanted a quick one time deal, I let them have it. I won't go there again!

Herb and Jason were amazing, helpful, patient, and they do amazing work in a great time frame. They put Headers and a new exhaust on my truck, and a new fuel pump. I couldn’t be any happier with the finished product. Would def recommend to anybody looking for any type of mechanical work. Thanks to everybody at Midas

I got a brake service done here the other week. I went for a retorque at Canadian tire and they showed me they were only hand tight! What the hell Midas.

I love the Midas store on 162 street and Stony Plain Road in Edmonton. They are very knowledgeable and reliable. They don't find things that suddenly need fixing when you take your vehicle in to have a flat fixed.

Had them do my front brakes on my pickup they did an amazing job seeing the brakes were seized. Later that week I came in to get tires re torqued I walked in the welcomed me by my first name wich is great customer service there techs are friendly hard working. The front desk staff are great too. All around it was the best midas experience

I've been coming to this location for a number of years and have never been disappointed; however, I was extremely let down today. I had scheduled to get my oil change and my block heater looked at and have the cord replaced. Midas always does a courtesy check of the vehicle, and there were a few things that needed some work, including running a diagnostic scan to see why there was some leakage. This costs $70 for every 30 minutes required to determine the root cause of the issue, which I agreed to.
Upon picking up my car, I did see the $70 diagnostic charge, and asked what was determined as the issue for the leak. They did not know, so the technician had to take my vehicle back inside the shop and within 10 minutes, determined the cause. I'm wondering at this point why and how I was charged $70 for a 30 minute scan when it appeared to me that this wasn't done, and wouldn't have been had I not asked.
Furthermore, my block heater cord was not replaced until I noticed the same frayed cord, and asked for it to be fixed. This piece I can reconcile with given that it was quite busy, and perhaps was overlooked in the paperwork. But I can't help but feel like my vehicle was not given the time and quality to attention that it usually is given from the Midas team. I do hope this is an isolated event, though it does make me weary about whether or not I will return next time.

Took my old car in this morning and it was fixed before the end of the day. I am very happy with that time management because I need my car for work and I only have one day off per week. They replaced the water pump, bearings, belts, and re-attached the exhaust heat shield which was damaged. They also switched one of my tire as a courtesy. Pricing was good as well. I picked this place by chance that is good luck for me.

Absolutely wonderful service! I'm honestly shocked at how well the gentlemen I dealt with handled my situation. Gave me a better deal then I could have gotten anywhere else for the situation I was in. Extremely grateful! I'll definitely be bringing all my future business here!

After I had a pretty disappointing experience with another Midas shop, these guys really took care of my vehicle to ensure my experience was better. The advisors here are very nice & friendly. No one tried to sell me on getting work that I didn't need done & my oil change was very quick

Myappt went really well. Had oil change and exhaust check. They fixed the flange on my car and sent me a report for costs of fixing other issues. Overall I’m extremely pleased with the service and cost and length of appt. Will go here from now on

I spent $1,200 on a synthetic oil change and a full brake job and not long after I was hearing a loud squeal and a loose knocking noise coming from my driver's Tire. I called them and they asked me to drop it off for 2 hours for them to take a look and they said that nothing was wrong. And that my vehicle is "older" and these "budget pads" sometimes do that. I drive a 2014 and I was quoted for "quality pads". I still have the problem, it's getting worse and the amount of brake dust their pads give off is almost cause for concern. I have to wash it off twice a week, it's bizarre. I'll have to take it to a different mechanic and paying to have the job finished by a different garage, I use my vehicle for work so vehicle maintenance is very important to me. If you are considering these guys, reconsider.

I have known Herb since ~ 2007 and 3 vehicles later, he goes WAY above and beyond for his loyal customers. Just this week I had some clips on the scrape plate come loose, and a previously bent rim start to leak air at the tire. He had his staff put the clips in and hammer the rim a bit back to, he insisted NO charge as he knew I was coming back for my regular oil changes and any fixes not under warranty.unexpected and awesome. Very thorough on fixes needed vs ones that can be put off / minor. I will not go anywhere else, this is "the guy" and "the place" to go to.

I had my vehicle in yesterday to have my exhaust pipe welded and Romeo did an amazing job! I was treated with respect and professionalism by everyone at the front counter and they got me in and out in about an hour. Thank you Romeo and everyone else at Midas for an awesome job!

Didn't try to charge me for things that I did not need. Great report provided on car health. Quickly fixed my car starting/gas line issue.

Absolutely will never go back. 1.5 ish hours for oil change and tire rotation. And then get a report of the things I should get fixed. Coolant flush, just did 2 days ago. 4 new tires, lmao, 2 of them I just got a month ago. What a joke. Never ever will go back

My grandfather saw their ad on TV for an oil change and tire rotation for $39. He went in, and after they did the work the bill came out to $93.60. When he complained, they said he should have checked the fine print (on a television ad).

Ihad a coupon for oil change $31 and some change ended up being $54 and change wouldn't recomend this place

Fast and courteous service! On our way back to Ontario from traveling the Rockies, discovered a mysterious noise. This place got us in, found the problem, fixed it, and we were on our way in a very reasonable amount of time! Awesome job team and thank you to Marc and Romeo!

If I could do no stars I would they were supposed to do some work that included removing my tire and fixing my parking break which still doesn't work and they seized a lug nut on my truck and I'm questioning whether they did what they said they did

Went in early today hoping to get an oil change for my Civic. I was concerned upon arriving that they wouldn't be able to fit me in (the lot was full and hoists all in use). Jason greeted me with a smile and assured me that they could get it done, better still they had specials on both conventional and synthetic oil changes. The block heater cord had also disappeared somewhere into the car so I asked Jason if he could locate that and feed the plug back through the grill. On top of getting all of that done (just as Jason promised), I was also pleased to see a 52-point courtesy inspection sent right to my cell. They caught a clogged cabin filter which they replaced quickly. I was so impressed with the service from both Jason and my mechanic that I called my wife at work letting her know I would take her ride into these gents to get a oil change for her vehicle which she needed anyways. It was a repeat of the same quality experience I had with the Civic. Talk about service! I've come to this same Midas location as well as others in the city and due to continually excellent service from this Stony Plain Road location, there is no longer any need to go elsewhere. Jason & Herb are awesome, fair and show a genuine concern that is so rare to find these days. These guys definitely deserve 5*'s for 2x 5* customer experience in the same day!

Great experience here.
Price for an Oil Change was great in comparison to some other places (my dealership costs double). I received a text notification outlining everything they looked at, with what looks good and what needs attention. They even topped up my windshield washer fluid on the house, and switched one of my front tired that has an issue with it to the back, just in case it was ever to blow.

Quick service and they weren't trying to push extras! Will definitely be going back for another Oil Change!

I had 2 cars for out of province inspection today. It was done very quick and professional, I am very happy for the service I got. For sure will go back again!
