This is the 1st Alberta Park that I would give any stars! This is surprisingly a really nice park with ACTUAL drinking water available (!), FREE warmish showers (but I'm sure they'll change that once word gets out), clean flushing toilets instead of the usual disgusting, stinking pit toilets you'll find in most AB Parks (seriously AB Parks pit toilets are the worst I've encountered in 10 provinces and 8 states and a good chuck of Mexico). Miquelon Park was a genuine, pleasant surprise in my overall 40+ years of AB Parks experience. Oh.but the "lake" isn't swimable. Good for kayaking tho. Lots of garter snakes too.
This campground has come full circle! The only sad part is you cannot swim in the lake. Other than that the sites are nice, the playground is great, the trails are next level and they even have a little farmers market!
Pretty close to Edmonton city, short 40 min drive, nice campsite with all the amenities.playground near by and only one issue regarding the washroom facilities, having only one toilet and too many showers, not everyone come to campground with their RV's, other than than pretty well maintained Campground. You can see the Wildlife and so many birds, look for beavers, birds and garter snakes along the trials and around the pond, good for star gazing too
This place is a hidden treasure. Camping areas and day uses areas are always keep clean and neat. Very well looked after. Also so much around for activity’s. Loads of good walking trails for all skill levels, play ground, places to kayak. The only thing where it looses a star is the lake isn’t really any good for swimming. Hikes are listed on AllTrails as well for the hiker. And not that far from the city.
We really enjoy this Park as it is a sanctuary for birds and other wildlife. We had a bird follow us while we were on a walk and it ended up perching on our fingers! Great place!
Good campground that's close to the city so it's easy to get away. Some of the sites are pretty open though and the pictures on the reservation site don't accurately represent the actual site anymore.
There are lots of walking/bike trails in the park. Multiple play structures to keep the kids entertained as well.
This is an ideal location for a quick getaway camping trip. It is a well organized camping spot with its own beach. I took one star off because the lake wasn't available for swimming when we went and the camp sites were very close together. However, they have clean bathrooms with toilets, sinks, and showers (unavailable due to covid) which they clean regularly. My group and I are already planning another trip out here. Definitely check it out!
The park itself is clean and great. But the camping ground lacks privacy. It gets so crowded on the weekends. No security person working to monitor the safety and noise issue at night. I couldn't sleep at all due to extremely noisy people next to my site, partying and yelling till 4am. I won't book it here again.
I really like the park but all the things that make the park fun are no longer! Shiwers, amphitheater, programs, park staff is very minamul! Notclike it used to be for sure! Thanks Kenny
It's clean and the campsites are private for the most part! The site we had was very hard to park our trailer bevause we had a incline and couldn't get the trailer level, but other than that it was fantastic. While we were there, there was no potable water but we did have a power site. We didn't have a sewer hookup to drain, just a dump station at the end of your weekend. It's beautiful and there's nature paths and lots of trees. Good experience
The group site we went to was very clean, with large fire pits and many power poles. Some didn't have power running but we didn't have an issue. Would definitely come back, hopefully soon.
It provided a cosy atmosphere with many memories for my family. The trails were properly maintained. The camp sites were fitted with electrical points, fire place for barbecue and a large sitting arena. The washroom would need to be upgraded to meet current health and hygiene standards. I will not hesitate to visit again.
The campground looked good and there is a nice day use area. However, I was disappointed to learn that there is no more swimming in the lake. I didn't see any boats on the water either.
What a beautiful part of Alberta. I came across this campsite after looking for a place to stay at when I put off booking a campsite. I'm so happy I did! My nephew and I enjoyed the many bike paths, the farmers market on Friday, the scenery and of course Miquelon Lake. Good spaces between the campsites.y only complaint.it was a little noisy on the wknd so if you're a light sleeper like me, bring ear plugs. Otherwise absolutely loved my time at Miquelon Lake.
We ventured here for the walking trails. Park was beautiful, very clean, ample parking. Lots of trails through shaded areas. Playground was very large and great structure for kids of all ages. Only downfall of this place is you can't (and definitely wouldn't even want to) swim in the lake. Probably why it is such a quiet little gem just outside of city.
The trails are beautiful. Nice size beach but the color of the water right now is a little funky. I have never been to Miquelon before but will definitely go back just to walk the trails.
We had a really nice experience. Check-in went well and the young man was able to upgrade us to a power site so that we could use the AC. (It was +31, thank-you whoever canceled)
We were in a spot with close neighbors, but walked around and it wasn't the worst, and there were lots with great privacy. The spots without power (area C) seemed to have the most separation.
My one caution to RVers is that many of the power sites have the plugs (both 15 and 30 amp) up close to the road. If you're expecting to plug in, you may need a good extension (25'+ potentially).
Great place for family to get together the beach has great sand and a newer play ground. The walking paths are well maintained our rugged baby stroller had little trouble navigating. Lots of dayuse and group areas.
This is a lovely campground. Great variety of sites. Tenting or RVing. Some sites are better then others for setting up tents or screen rooms. They can be pretty hard packed and rocky. But that's been not the majority of my experience.
There are vault/pit toilets and flushing too. Lots of great trails for walking. Or biking. I believe I saw a couple different playgrounds.
The lake itself is not for swimming, but there is a beach in the day use area that can be a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Bird sanctuary in the park that is lovely for birds.
Cellular service is spotty or non existent depending on where you are in the park. The day use area is usually the place that always has signal.
Great place to visit for a nice picnic spot. Really secluded during covid times and a hidden gem. There is a play area for kids and for adults these days liquor is allowed in designated spots. There is a launchpad for canoes and boat. I like the fact that it is less than an hour away from edmonton.
Wonderful time camping here! Clean facilities, nice trails, free showers. Pits throughout the park. Great playground for kids. Do not go if you're wanting a swim. Firewood is $8/bag.
Staff were very friendly and the lake area was well groomed. The water has gone down a lot since I last visited and there were tons of mosquitoes. It's a lovely place to bike or walk through!
On the plus side it's a park. On the negative: you cannot swim in the lake as it is disgusting, many many bugs, that walking trails are not particularly nice, challengeing, or interesting. The word swampy comes to mind. I would recommend Blackfoot or Elk Island instead if you are near Edmonton.
Stopped by for a hour or so. Not much of a beach, but a nice, large campground, great picnic area and a nice spot to observe waterfowl. We saw some pelicans today there.
Don't go for the beach, it's nasty. BUT it is an awesome campground, amazing bike trails and Alberta Parks does an incredible job. They have discovery backpacks at the info centre, we did geocaching, pond creatures and art in the park and they were so fun. They also have great shows in the outdoor theatre at night, we did nature Bingo and the story of The Ugly Ryan, so well done.
Great provincial park with clean facilities. The signs on the road asking you to not drive over snakes definitely catch your eye. Never did see a snake but it is a beautiful place and well worth the 40 minute drive from Edmonton. Perfect for a day trip for sure, bring the family and a picnic lunch and you will have a terrific time.
We come here once every year.its always a pleasure to play It's a nice easy par 3.for the first nine.then challenging for the back nine. Very beautiful and peaceful. Loved it!
Miquelon Lake Provincial park is a really nice place for a hike and a picnic. The camping sites are also quite nice. The services are new and clean. One of the downsides is that the fire pits in the day use area are all pretty far from the lake and lost of them are surrounded by trees, so you have to walk a ways to get to the lake from them. There is also a farmers market that goes on during the summer on Friday afternoons.
We visited day area. It has a good playground. A lot of places for picnic. Shower, the changing rooms and several washrooms are on the site. Also they have couple sand volleyball fields. The only minus is access to the lake it's all in the grass and sand is not everywhere. Doesn't look very good for swimming.
