Nice place to visit and buy for used items compared to other thrift stores. Love that they really help people from the money they get. Will continue to support them.
Been shopping at this store for several years. Awesome thrift store! All staff are very friendly, including the Volunteers. While you're shopping, please thank them for their time and effort, rather than complaining. Compare the prices to retail stores for a thrill. Good thing we're not living in a third world country. Count your blessings, and have gratitude.
Best thrift store in Red Deer. Clean, well organized and the prices are better than Value Village / Salvation army. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
My family have enjoyed shopping here until now. The prices on some things have gone through the roof just bad as Value Village. Most all volunteers are wonderful the one positive thing I can say at this point. I really needed to buy 1 of 3 that you had of the large deep corel dish with lid but not for $30 not in my budget when feeding a family of 6, not to mention I've been search for one for months! So.disappointed. I definitely agree with those who've mentioned who you sell dollar store items for same price or higher. I've read your response to each review and the proper way to address the on going issue is to actually fix your pricing problems and tell your customer reviews that you will. I did mention it to the lady at the till and she became rude and snarky and ignored the pricing issue. I guess you have no real protocols to address dollar store items selling at dollar store prices or higher and such other items $$$. It's really a shame customers are sometimes treated in such manner I hope one day that can change. I will continue to put your staff at test when I see unrealistic pricing to continue and make it known, I hope others will do the same in hope for that better change.
GREAT store! Well organized, Well priced! Well valued! For those on a budget, we need lower prices-I found everything I needed~even size 4x clothing (which is hard to find to begin with!) …. Staff is great! Please stop in and have a look around _Im sure u won’t be disappointed! Everything is tested before it’s sold! I picked up a hair straightener-top of the line, for 6.00$… WORKS GREAT! I saw similar one, at value village for $21.00 (They’re prices have become ridiculous). & I have stopped shopping there - I now know-where my money is going -it’s too a place (MISSION THRIFT STORE), where they care about the little guy, and not so much of the mighty dollar in their pocket (just sayin-my opinion only) ….
Everything seems to be very reasonable priced got three bags of stuff for $50! Nice and clean too! The kids coats did seem to be a little bit high just noticed because I am a person who buys new coats. $22.00 seems a little bit steep after paying $50 for Costco New coat and snow pants sets last week
One of the best thrift stores in town. Lots of products. Little gems from time to time. And I love the mission the money goes towards. Found a record of Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong for 2 bucks. I ask friends. What more do you need. Worth a visit.
Is over priced selling used stuff for more expensive then new.even showed it to the staff that I could buy it cheaper new then buying it from them used
I absolutely love Missions Thrift - Red Deer. Their team members are friendly and helpful. Love the store and the customer service. Highly recommend this store for great thrift store finds at great prices.
A good thrift store, really nice people, I always appreciate the volunteers there and all the work they do. But recently their prices have started to climb. I saw an item in their store for $45 that I had found earlier at an antique store for $30. I think they take ebay prices too seriously. I have donated there a lot! But have now been bringing my items to the Innisfail Salvation Army. I bring my items to a thrift store (even though I know they have value) so that people who can't normally afford them can buy them. But I saw something I had given them up for sale for more than I paid for it! I think they need to relax: you are not ebay, you are not an antique store, you are not even a second hand store (people who pay for the things they resell) - you are a thrift store who depends upon the good graces of people like me to GIFT you things so you can sell them on at a reasonable profit.
I’ll give 3 stars. It was my first time here and there’s pretty much something for everyone. No ladies tshirts though. Also with sizing everything is all over the place. There is no sizing organization.
I also suggest putting a sign near the change rooms stating you need to check in at the front so that your staff aren’t barging in on people who didn’t know…. Staff have low morale here and are pretty rude. I will come back, but there could be some improvements to the store.
Best experience by far I've ever had in a thrift store! All staff were friendly and talkative. They have an organized and clean place. Prices were also reasonably cheaper compared to many other thrift stores I've been in at Red Deer. I would definitely come back again for more shopping.
I love Missions Thrift store in Red Deer! The staff is super friendly, the store is clean & they have a great diverse selection of products that are reasonabably priced! Check them out anytime you want a bargain.you never know what kind of treasures you might find! Check out the photos to see what little gems I bought today!
Well layed out and displayed but for donated items they want new prices on alot of their stuff. I shop all around from east coast to west. High priced. They had a self standing hamick for $450.00 I may as well get it from department store so if anything breaks I can get a replacement. Disappointed?
Friendly staff, amazingly well organized, VERY clean. Many treasures were discovered on this trip, including complete box-sets of first-edition Disney books! Prices are great and when we got to the register to complete the transaction, there was a "Third Thursday of the Month" promo that gave us an additional 25% off the total! Definitely going to shop here again when next in Red Deer!
Great thrift store! Can get a bit busy on Saturdays (of course) but they always have a good selection of stuff. I've found lots of treasures here - full length mirror, loads of books ($1 each!), picture frames, a bread machine, Christmas decorations, the list goes on. Prices are quite reasonable. Staffed with friendly folks.
What I like about the store is the fact the jeans are all one price
Get annoyed at second hand stores when the want to over charge brand name items.there is a reason people donate so others can enjoy.not so the store can increase their profit
It looks like my review was taken down so I will put it back up. Most of the elder ladies are pretty rude. The fact that they start kicking you out of the store before it closes is counterproductive. I knew someone who worked there but quit because of the ladies and their gossip, and they were not the only ones who left their volunteer position. The only good thing is the paperbacks are cheap. When we go there for books, I just sit in the car. There is never anything nice in there as I suspect it's already been ransacked and all the good pieces are taken before they ever hit the floor. All old and unstylish clothing, I mean I've tried.but there is NEVER anything there worth buying. My favorite place is the Salvation Army because they have nice items there, and the staff are all friendly, they have longer hours so the customers that have been shuttled out from BFM when they close early, can head on over here.
Fantastic! Brand new pair of sports pants for 5$? Wow! My wife and I come here once a week it's definitely full of very nice clothing and small items at rock bottom prices!
Donate and buy here because the money goes to actaully needy people and not a big box store like value village that makes way to much money and donates something like 5% which is basically what they would donate anyways to get tax breaks. The people who work at mission are volunteers! Enough said!
Very disappointed. I arrived at the store exactly 4: 50pm with all the doors were locked up. A man came to the door unlocked it and I asked why were they closed. There was 10 min to still shop. He explained the tills shut down at 4: 55pm. When the store closes at 5: 00pm? I was denied entry. When usually it only takes me 5-10 min to buzz through a small thrift shop, like this. People working there expect they walk out the doors at 5: 00pm. Hmmm I bet if those people were to be turned away from a Costco, Sobeys, or a Canadian Tire 10 min prior to the store closing they’d be quite disappointed. This is not how you operate a business. Sitting in the parking while putting this review together, 5 other customers have tried entering the store with same look of dismay.
Staff are quite friendly and occasionally there are good finds here, but I find that since it's a smaller thrift store they tend to have the same items week after week.
