Highly recommend Monki for brunch with a small/midsize group, cozy atmosphere and great food.

Love this place for brunch - they have a really good menu and everything seems so good. We all enjoyed our food. The service was also exceptional. We had a few requests and each one was accommodated politely and swiftly. The space is small so make a reservation/put yourself on the waitlist on weekends!

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The flavour of the food is excellent. My only complaint was that the poutine did not have enough cheese. Very disappointing and the beef wasn’t tender enough. Definitely did not taste like a poutine. Gravy wasn’t thick too watery. However flavour was really good.

Love this brunch spot! Their Hollandaise sauce is by far the best in town…. I would drink a glass of it if I could…. Yum.

We both quite enjoyed our breakfast poutines and the banana coffee was worth the wait until 9 am (alcoholic). Nice spicing and flavouring in the food and good portions. We will definitely be back to try some more items off the menu that we didn’t have room for this time.

Went because of the good reviews, unfortunately not worth the hype. Probably one of worst Eggs Benedict I’ve had. Extremely bland, same with the potatoes. Disappointing because the place itself is cute and the serves are nice.

Used to love Monki back when I lived in Calgary. I made the recommendation that we drop in during our trip. Sadly our experience was subpar, the food tasted stale. We asked our waitress if the waffles were made fresh and she told us they were made in advance. This was obvious from the quality, they were crumbly and tasted a few days old. Our waitress was lovely and helpful however all of our dishes lacked flavour and complexity. After all this the minimum tip suggested on the eftpos machine was 18%. Would not recommend.

The absolute bare minimum to call something a poutine is that it have CHEESE CURDS in it.

Making a breakfast bowl and putting shredded cheese on top DOES NOT MAKE IT POUTINE.

We have basically one national dish, don't disrespect Canada and poutine by calling anything with some random shredded cheese poutine, it's rude and false advertising.

Please stop deceptively labeling your food.

Nothing on the menu is less than 18 per plate reviews with price ranges below a starting point of 20 are not from real people, you can not eat for less than 20 per person is it the lowest possible starting price.

Also portions are very small.

The food was good. I ordered the June special blueberry and pistachio french toast. It doesn't look like the picture on Instagram, though it is still really good. In my opinion, the chocolate was too much, and made it unbearably sweet (so I didn't eat it). The other french toast was delicious, and the savory chorizo poutine was also good (I had a bite of each)

Fine brunch. A pretty solid place for a visit. Good hash, properly done eggs/hollandaise, and well seasoned meat. Nothing too outstanding in the Calgary brunch scene; just a solid local place for brunch. Would not recommend the chocolate fondue though, every single chocolate dip tastes like white chocolate (yes the matcha/earl grey/strawberry just taste like white chocolate) and its also too sweet.

The customer service from our waitress was horrible. She was condescending, unaccomadating, and inattentive. We had to go in and get our own cutlery. The food was not bad. I would not recommend the chocolate fondue. The salmon benny was fine. It came with hardboiled eggs not poached which was weird. Definitely not worth the long wait.

Amazing! Took my son here to celebrate his 30th birthday, sat on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed the environment and the food.
Both of us being celiac it can be a challenge some days to locate safe establishments and Monki did NOT disappoint.
Several options to choose from as well as some with modifications.

I reached out from another province hoping to treat my sister and mom to a much needed brunch. I had made a mistake on the gift card address and Jordan went above and beyond to ensure it was straightened out and that my mom and sister were able to have the best brunch. So incredibly impressed and grateful for his kindness and superb customer service. Thank you Jordan! You truly provided kindness and compassion at the perfect time. Ps. They said the food was AMAZING!

Had brunch here with my fiancé and her sister, all three of us enjoyed our meals. Staff was friendly, on the weekend the there is lots of parking, not sure about week days.

Worth the wait. The food and drinks were exceptional and the expanded patio is a nice addition. This place is always busy so make sure you get on the waiting list or get a reservation.

Everything here had a very distinct taste, unlike other brunch places. It was very very good and unique. Fruit was very fresh. Coffee had a pleasant smooth taste. Staff were very friendly too. 11/10 would recommend.

We went to Monki’s today, hoping for a great experience - as we used to go all the time (under previous ownership). We were sadly disappointed. My wife and I are both celiac and we’re told the hollandaise sauce contained gluten. Although sad about this, we asked if they could make a different sauce and were just flat out told no - in a very rude fashion. I am not one to write reviews but I was so upset that I had to come and tell others. Not a place to go if you’re looking for gluten free or kindness.

You can't go wrong with monki, everything was on point and delicious.

5star for hospitality and being customer centric during tough pandemic time. Food was good but better options available around. They have a patio open for safe dine in.

Used to love this place, but it has changed! Tried to get some information about the menu and my options, being celiac I can not handle wheat, and was surprised to learn that they add wheat to most of the sauces. I figured we’d try it anyways with a different sauce, or even just hot sauce, but the waiter bluntly said NO…. So we left: (

We recently found out about Monki. Not sure if it was word of mouth, or a "food app", but either way we have enjoyed completely each item tried. We have tried all the French toast. The reverse is the goto for us. We have tried most of the Hangry Monki breakfast selection. The perogies have a nice kick to them and work well to share. My personal favorite is the Briskit hash. Make sure you check them out. Price might be a slight premium, but you get a very good quality product (fresh and yummi!) that is fantastic VFM and worth paying a little extra for.

The food is delicious, one of my favorite breakfast spots in Calgary. The vibe is welcoming. Wish the restaurant was larger.only downside is the wait sometimes.

Got my order through door dash.unfortunately the poached egg and cheese was missing from my order. On the bright side the potatoes and brisket was good, but not a poutine and lacking the best part.

Fantastic experience, went here for lunch with the girls and the staff was so friendly! We had the Brisket Bene and it was too notch, can't wait to visit again soon!

First time eating here during brunch. Family ate outside patio. Service is fast, friendly. Waiters are attentive and wearing mask and can be seen cleaning other tables by sanitizing. Food was great, served warm and in big portions. Great for sharing specialy their fondue. Take out is equally good too. We need to walk a bit to look for parking. I recommend this place.

My reservation experience was not pleasing.

I called ahead to place a reservation under my name for a party of three. The text reservation I received was unclear if I was to reply to save my spot as I checked my spot in the live link. Turns out, you have to reply to save your spot, pain point here.

I then replied to the second text and my name was removed from the reservation link, which I thought meant they were prepping for me. I strolled in to find that they had my reso for two not three ppl. Aggravated, I told them, no I have a text and proof I had made a reso for three.

Deep breaths.

They said they couldn't get me in right away as other guests that have already paid were enjoying their seats with water.

Not their fault, but a polite "push" to the guests hanging out would have been courteous. I resisted the urge to ask them if we can have their table and waited. I came back in after another 12minutes to find that they had a table open, that hadn't been wiped down yet.

No text as promised, I came back and witnessed the table vacant. They then promptly cleaned it as I asked them what was going on.

Turns out, they messed up the reso, as the reso was for ANOTHER party of two, and not mine. I guess the names Andy and AMY can be easily confused though as a male, I'd think it would be common sense to check the other reservations and and see if any of the names might be a better match?

Small space, and great demand I get, but this really soured my visit. Food was okay, but I am very disappointed at this fumble. Not sure if a return is in the books just on this mishap.

Came here today without going on the waitlist (didn't know to do that) they said there was a two hour waitlist BUT there was a 30 min window before the people started coming so they squeezed us in (just two of us) the girls there are SO friendly and make you feel welcome. We each got the poutine, one chorizo and one brisket. SO FREAKING delicious. Couldn't believe how flavorful! They gave us samples of their hot sauce and we ended up buying the Monki Tears as it's soooooooo yummy, the best hot sauce I've had in years. Very impressed. Way better experience than the Inglewood location. Only thing is it's VERY tiny so I can see why the waitlist is so long you can fit like 15 people in there lol. But worth it for sure!

We booked for brunch (hard to get in otherwise) and had an amazing brunch at the Monki. Our meal was great, eggs bene done perfectly as well as my classic bacon and eggs. The coffee is good and we watched other plat4es some out that looked amazing. Highly recommended.

This place is utterly amazing. Everything on their menu is creative and unique. Wife and I shared the brisket poutine and elvis French toast. The kids had breakfast fondue and Monki’s creation for yyc hot chocolate festival - cinnamon toast crunch hot chocolate.

Went for the YYC Hot Chocolate festival, it was absolutely delicious! We didn't stay for food but it smelled amazing and the menu looked really good, lots of different options for traditional food.

I went for the sole purpose of having their YYC Hot chocolat festival creation. I'm really happy I did, and loved the flavors and piece of cinnamon bun on top
