Mohammed was polite and attentive in making sure my suit is ready for the big day! He went above and beyond to check and make sure my suit fill well and was comfortable.
Brendan is charming as always. Although busy (a good sign). The gents went out of their way to make sure all my questions were answered and that I felt taken care of!

I will never rent a suit from this place again. Not only were they a day late on having my suit arrive, but when it did arrive it was completely the wrong sizes and someone else's measurements! I wasted an hour of driving to show up and it not be my size. Then I had to waste another hour to come back the next day when the suit finally arrived, and my pants still did not fit. They told me they could get another size in but I had to leave the next morning for the wedding. Luckily they fixed them so they are least somewhat fit. The guy was very nice but i wasn't even offered a discount for the mistake. No compensation for my wasted time and gas which honestly would have made me happier with the experience I had.

Sterling and the boys at Mr. Derk are first class. They have been my go to shop for years. They have done everything for me from my graduation to my Wedding. They have some of the most amazing pieces that really help you stand out and achieve the look you are going for. The thing I like about them is they know your fit. You can explain to them the look you are trying to achieve, they look at your body type and next thing you know they have you in something amazing. Their tailoring department is fantastic and they always get it right the first time. I am not sure why anyone would waste their time going to other shops.

Mr. Derk has been my go to location for any and all business or wedding clothes. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and a big shout out to Andy who has helped me craft a wardrobe for work from scratch. I can’t express enough how invaluable their services have been for me as I arrived in Edmonton a year ago with a suspect fashion sense and no dress clothes for work, I feel like a million bucks these days. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

The best place to shop in Edmonton for fine clothes and tailored suits. The staff are experts at dressing men, giving you style and offering personalized service.

Dropping off tuxedo, ignored by two staff until I got to the back. They usually are more polite but I guess this is the norm everywhere. Other than that the store is clean, organized and product is great quality. There’s a reason they have been in business for 3 generations.

Do not recommend. This was a company that a few friends recommended that we rent our suits through. The first visit which took place 7 months in advance of the wedding was great, the salesman who helped us listened to what we wanted, gave suggestions, and took the measurements very quickly. My husband then went in for a fitting 2 months before the wedding and that visit went well too. The issues arose 4 days before the wedding when the guys all went in to pick up their suits. I didn't attend this visit and the guys mentioned that it seemed that once the bride wasn't present customer service took a nosedive. Two of the guys suits fit well, but the third groomsman's suit was tight but still wearable. The biggest issue was my husband's suit. The pants were 4-5 inches too long and the shirt they ordered for him (which was a different shade than the groomsmen shirt so they couldnt swap), was a 5XL. He wears a slim medium. This was after they took his measurements twice. They claimed the computer's autofill messed up the original measurements. But he went in twice to get measured so I'm still confused how this happened.
They then told him they could order in another size, but there was no guarantee that the new one would fit properly either. So the salesman motivated him to buy the only shirt in the shop that would work and get it altered and that it would be tight but they could have it ready to be picked up a day before our wedding. With the tight deadline my husband decided to go this route. The shirt with alterations cost us an additional $415. Which was significant to our budget, especially that close to the wedding. To their credit, I went in with my husband to pick up the suit and I asked to speak with the manager. He listened to my complaint and refunded us $100 for the shirt. But I really do feel the previous salesman was trying to boost his commission by pushing my husband to buy his dress shirt. And then, on the day of the wedding, the groomsmen realized that the bowties were all dirty and one of them were missing their cufflinks. All in all, it made for an unenjoyable experience.
TLDR, messed up measurements, pushy salesman, dirty bowties, missing cufflinks. Do not recommend.

I just want everyone to know that I have had, and continue to have, the most excellent service at Mr. Derk - specifically with Andy.

This is is my partner's go-to to hem his pants.
While I was there the first time with him, I met Andy M.and mused about how tailoring clothes works as I'm a tall, athletic woman and clothing doesn't ever seem to fit me *well*. I often have to buy men's tops because my arms and torso are long, but they lack in the femininity that I still want in my clothes.

I learned that Andy is educated and experienced in clothing design - and for women especially!

Last fall, I had purchased a long men's Fred Perry coat in London. I liked that it was long enough in all the right places, but kind of boxy and masculine.

I was concerned about chopping apart ruining a pricy coat in tailoring for my first time, but Andy assured me that this was a common thing for ANYONE to do to make clothing a custom fit; We're not all just a size S, M, L.

During an appointment, I discussed what I hoped for and Andy pinned my jacket up in all the right places, discussed some options and trends and for a nominal cost, my beloved garment came back to me custom fit to my body, looking chic, feminine and feeling comfortable and classy.
I felt so comfortable discussing aspects about my body I feel insecure about. The whole experience has me elated.

I am over-the moon-impressed with the attention to detail and high-end, boutique experience I received at Mr. Derk.

Had an poor experience with rentals with Mr Derk and would not recommend anyone who was hoping to rent, come to this store.

Issues I had:

1. When I showed up the day they had said things were going to be available, nothing was in store.

2. When it finally did arrive, only 1/4 pieces even remotely fit.

3. I had to drive outside of the city to pick up replacements.

All in all it was a very disappointing experience. I won’t be back.

To start this off, my wedding was August 19th, 2023. Myself, my best man, and my groomsman went into Mr. Derks approximately 8 months prior to the wedding to be fitted for suits. We were told that it was still too far out and to return around the 6 month mark, so we did. I booked the appointment, we showed up and we were fitted. Now we were renting suits, not purchasing, but still that should not have made a difference. Once we had payed, the person helping us said that everything would be in on the 16th for pickup. (Only 3 days before the wedding). I was not very comfortable with that so I asked if we could have them in earlier and all I got was "we'll see what we can do". So a week before the wedding I get a text that says "the suits will be in on the 17th. We'll thats already a day late. We go in on the 17th, try on the suits and no ones pants fit. The person that was helping us, was also very rude about it. Me being stressed, I said this is why I was hoping that the suits would've been in weeks ago. The person helping us then rolled their eyes and sighed saying "we're very busy doing 20 weddings a week". I get that they're busy, but that's not really my problem. We showed with plenty of time before the wedding and were turned away. So we were told that they could possibly have exchanges for us tomorrow (friday). That stressed me out even more. So Friday cones amd at 3: 30pm, a half hour before rehearsal, I get a text saying the exchanges were in. So we go in, try on the new pants and still NOTHING FITS! So at this point myself and the party went to another store and found pants. The experience I had with Mr. Derks was far from good. The customer service from a very specific gentleman wad very poor and all I can say is. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR SUITS! They screwed me, they may just screw you as well.

Dustin, Andy and all the staff at Mr. Derk were phenomenal, my husband had a custom suit and it was stunning! They treated us like royalty and it was a great price for a custom suit!

I happened upon Mr. Derk after googling men’s attire near Whyte Ave. What a stroke of luck! My son and I were in Edmonton for a very brief time and hoping to find an outfit for his upcoming graduation. Sterling asked us about our vision, our budget and skillfully put together the ensemble of our dreams! And, to top it all off, the alterations were completed that same day! I cannot say enough about the positivity of the whole experience! We will definitely return and purchase gift certificates for Edmonton family in the future.

If you're looking for quality clothes and have a budget for them, you'd be tough to beat Derks.

Terrible experience. Son's special grad day expecting a good memorable experience. Nope. Met by a fast talking car salesman. Told to search his internet page for a suit.looking for a quick commission. Hurried us out. Also got to listen to I think the manager complaining about gun laws and Trudeau.
Exactly how we wanted to spend this special day. Thanks for nothing!

Every time I go to Mr Derk I am highly satisfied with the service I receive. All of the employees are professional, knowledgeable, and work hard to make sure you have a good experience. The clothing is great quality and lasts a long time.

This place is fantastic. Dustin was personable, knowledgeable, and patient. He took the time to get the details right. Thanks to the on-site tailor, I was able to get a high-quality suit relatively quickly that looked great and fit like a glove.

I have found myself coming back to Mr. Derk since Dan helped put me in my first real suit over 12 years ago. Everything I have purchased here is high quality, looks great, and has stayed in my wardrobe for years. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and go the extra mile to help you look your best for any occasion. In my opinion this is the best menswear store in the city.

They literally gave me the wrong pants and I had to drive to their warehouse on the wedding day to change them.
