Have had a couple horrible experiences.my last oil change my antifreeze was topped up according to my bill. As I lost heat over this week in my car I took it to my mechanic.you topped it up with water apparently. I will never return

Just had my oil change today, Jodi was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. Recommended services which I needed, was polite and professional. The lower tech (Jesus) which was working underneath did his job quickly and efficiently. Jodi also spotted a nail in my back right tire.

Oil change was fine, no issues.

That said there was far too much upselling on other products and services. The upselling came across as a hard sell and left me feeling a bit uncomfortable when all i wanted was an oil change.

Did the Oil change at this location just to find out huge oil stain under car in the garage. Checked the oil level and lost about half the level, decided to drive to Mr Lube to rectify the situation. Turns out the oil plug was loose and oil was leaking.

Chatted with the manager and the best he could do about my wasted time was to give me 10$ gift card.
That's too bad, this place suppose to save you time but when it doesn't and you are nice about it (as in don't ask them to tow the car to the shop, try to make it right and take your own time to drive it in) they don't value it at all.
I think it would of costed the company more then 10$ if the engine blew up due to oil starvation.they didn't care

Out of towner here on tour and decided to get an oil change here.mr lube.my techie was Cole.very professional man who does a professional job.and didn't stop at just an oil change.with the general overal check up on my rig. Cole pointed out several problems with the general over all condition of the truck and his suggestions prompted my approval because he made me feel comfortable with his expertise on the job. So hats off.thank u peace out and enjoy life people.

Went for an oil change and everything was good. Good service…when I got home I found oil leaking on my clean garage floor. I went out and found other spots. Never had a leak before. Went back and they said old oil from before. I went to I different shop and they found my oil filter not tightened properly.

Rude and zero quality staff. They refuse to do my oil change because i asked for oil change only.
Last time when i come for oil change they ask me to do transmission oil change also.i agree they where happy because i spended 390$,
This time when i asked for only oil change they said sorry we cant ، execuse was they dont have oil filter.

Mr Lube has fallen far from where it used to be. I went for an oil change and as soon as the service-writer recognized I wasn't going to procure more than an oil change, everything was in a hurry. Even though there was no line up of other customers. I paid over $100 for a synthetic oil change.so I was expecting them to ask me what oil I wanted. They started to pour 5W20 and I had to stop them to insist on 0W20. As part of service they always used to check tire pressure, other oil levels, whether lights and wipers were working, etc. There was none of that. Didn't even top up washer fluid which used to be part of normal Mr Lube service. For the safety of people working underneath they're also supposed to take the keys from the driver. They didn't do that - making me feel that they no longer care about their employee's safety. This is far from the time when Mr Lube used to offer a welcome cup of coffee and a newspaper. Never going back.

*I am writing this review because the severity/consequence of what could of happened to my vehicle compared to the outcome/response of the shop was inappropriate/inadequate *
**Everything is becoming expensive now a days and if the lack of standards and procedures are trumpeted at Mr. Lube then I'd rather go to another company**
Oil changed!? , the technician shows me the dipstick and it was dirty and half way to the full line; upgrading the service to rectify that very issue obviously was worth the added expense. Fast forward a couple months afterwards, my oil change light comes on my car. Ends up the drain plug was loose and not tightened. Talk to the store Manager Adam over the phone, no apology for overlooking a crucial part of the oil change service. Then to add insult to injury I get offered $10 off the next service, as if I'm going to go back to give them a chance to blow my engine for sure this time. We count on your Due diligence; people depend on you to keep our vehicles in good working order and us safe on the roads.

Always really friendly and informative service here. They're fast but they take their time to talk things through with you. I do find they try to push packages on you every time though, even when they're not necessary, but they're just doing their job.

Came in with a tire that definitely could not be patched. Technician was super helpful and pleasant to deal with. Being a woman with not a ton of automotive knowledge, I didn't feel ripped off or taken advantage of. A new tire was ordered and arrived the very next day. I will be happy to return when I need to.

I used to go there for oil change. But after today I will not be back there ever.
When I got there the bay's door was open and a young staff member outside told me to go in. But when I was pulling in another young member staff literally started yelling at me " Whoa, whoa, whoa"! And asking me to stop. I told him that the other guy told me to go in and he said no someone need to guide you in. And he asked me to back up and get out of the bay.
It was a very unpleasant experience and rude reaction from the staff.
They need to get training on customer service and how to handle situation like this.
Even if there was a miscommunication here they could handle this in a way politer manner. After all I am a loyal paying customer. So I left without the oil change and will not give them any business anymore.

I came by tonight January 10 around 6: 30 PM, there was four gentleman working and three out of the four gentleman helped me. I came in with a silly question that I will admit as A car owner I should’ve known how to take care of this myself. But I didn’t, the three gentleman who help me with patient, never made me feel stupid and help me through my problem. My only regret is not getting their names. Hopefully their manager will see this notes and know that they have some wonderful employees working!

I went in Friday early evening. Everyone was great and everyone had the knowledge but that was not the issue.
I ask for them to see if they could fill up my spare tire that was on the back of my SUV as every time the weather gets colder my light comes on for my tire pressure. They tired and said the zipper was probably frozen and they didn’t want to brake the zipper to try. Thank you for that! I really appreciate that and I like things to be left the way that I come in. Okay…that’s fine, no big deal! I decided to ask again at the end of my oil change because I had been in there for a little bit and maybe it had thawed out. They were happy to do it again. It seemed to be a little sticky as I watched them in my back window but thinking they would say something if they couldn’t get into it and I would be fine with that because they communicated that the first time. I was talking with I believe his name was Donovan about my car and the mileage and the recommendations. I wasn’t thinking too much of what they were doing back there, although that they seemed to be tugging on my spare tire cover quiet a bit as the car was moving. I’ve never had to take the cover off before, so it was in very good condition. I’m always in the back of my SUV and would have noticed of there was anything wrong with the cover as I do check it. Fast forward they ended up putting the air into it, great! Thank you! When I got home I decided to check as previously stated that they were tugging at the cover and they tiered the cover off where the seam and the zip is. They never said anything about it.
I expect to leave the way, if not better then I came in. I was stocked that they were able to communicate the first time that they couldn’t get into it but not the second. They didn’t want to risk ripping or breaking it the first time but they went and did it anyways.
I don’t normally do reviews but I’m disappointed because everything else in the service was good except with the lack of communication and not apologizing and owning up to breaking someone else’s property.

The best car experience I’ve ever had. When looking for a dedicated spot to do your car’s maintenance there is always some worry that you will be taken advantage of. This was not the case at this specific Mr. Lube, not only was the experience quick, affordable and friendly. They DID NOT push unnecessary expensive repairs and everything the helpful technician, Tommy, god bless him, everything he did was useful, effective, and efficient. I always feel as though I leave winning the car experience. I know my car is taken care of by experts, at an expert level for ammeter prices. This place is a gem and I cannot recommend it enough.

The team here seemed nice at first, however they failed to show me the engine oil level prior to the oil change. They also charge almost twice the price for engine air filters. When I mentioned this to them, they did not accept responsibility for the mistake or offer a discount as I had suggested. They simply stated "no special treatment here. " Additionally they recommended my next service for 5000km, when the 0w20 full synthetic oil I purchased is good for 10'000 miles (16'000km). Overall not the best experience I have had at a Mr.lube location. I will not be returning here.

This is my go to spot for all my regular maintenance in Calgary, the staff here are great and I’ve always had a positive experience! Especially because they remember you as a customer, which is huge!

Have been bringing 3 vehicles here for years. Last couple of times I've gone, and mostly today, I was treated very poorly. I am pretty sure it's because I am female and the technician treated me like I must not know anything about auto maintenance. I'll send my husband next time, and probably not to this location since this isn't my first bad experience.

Went for an oil change today @ Mr. Lube on Macleod and had excellent service! Was helped by Chevan and his team, who informed me that when my previous oil change was done at another location they had forgotten to put my oil cap back on. My engine bay was completely covered in oil. The team @ Mr. Lube cleaned everything under the hood and called several locations to get my cap replaced. Wonderful service, with a positive attitude from the whole team! They will be my go to location from now on!

Employees are great but the manager their tries to rip the customers i was told that my tire got a nail in it and it needs to be fix but when one of the employee remove the tire he found out it was just a rock in the stud and told me that they not gonna charge for it because it was their misunderstanding but manager was keen to charge and after some arguments he remove the charge and said that he gonna write up the employee who told me they not gonna charge.
The reason for my big comment here it to let this management know about the issue I’m happy with the way employee helped me but not with the manager. You can contact me for more information on this.

Took my mom's car in tonight for an oil change and general winterizing check. They were busy but Chevan (spell?) got me in and was so polite and professional. My mom's car has always only been serviced by the dealership she bought from, faithfully twice a year like clockwork lol. However, since covid hit in March, I don't think she's even put more than 200 km on it as I do most of her errands for her. So once Chevan had the hood opened and checked her oil he came and asked me if I was sure she hadn't just had it changed as the oil was so clear and clean lol. So after checking all her fluids and filters turns out that everything was pristine and all she required was a washer fluid top up and a bit of air in the tires. Was so refreshing to deal with such an honest tech as they could have easily gone ahead and changed it needlessly and charged. So thanks so much for being awesome and honest Chevan! You have gained a new customer as my mom was pretty impressed. Cheers!

Was able to drive in and get an oil change pretty quickly. Service was excellent, they checked my tire pressure, topped up my fluids, washed my windows and checked my lights all for free while the oil change was being done. Great deal with the online coupon as you can also get free wiper blades installed there for a limited time. Was about $80 all in for regular oil change after taxes.

Unprofessional and terrible customer service. Like other comments say, they will upsell your oil change and tell you that you "have" to use their more expensive option. And then will try to tell you there are more issues with your car than there really are. 0/5 will not recommend to anyone.

UPDATE!

Not good!
I had my oil and filter changed on my Ram truck and ended up having the check engine light come on on the way to work. I stopped at the mechanic (Fountain Service) which is on the way and had them check it out. He asked if I had an oil change recently. He left the code on and told me to take it back to them because my other components like oil sending unit were working fine and said it was most likely the oil filter was incorrect or faulty.
When I took it back they said that happens with my vehicle sometimes, cleared the code and sent me on my way only for it to happen again. So I took it back a second time and This time the low oil pressure AND a Cam Fault Code came up (not a cheap fix). The guy checking it even said "that shouldn't be there". THEN they changed the oil filter AND erase the codes and the all history of the codes!?
So now the oil pressure code does not come up anymore so obviously an issue with the filter as the first mechanic said. But now there is a misfire code due to the cam issue. They then ask me to take it to their mechanic which I do. He told me they contacted him and told him about the cam code but it isn't coming up anymore just the misfire. So I contact the Manager Again to ask what they will do about it. This time he tells me that I need to get 2 other mechanics to inspect it (at my cost, I'm already out $120 from the first visit). So I bring it back to Fountain Service and they do a more thorough inspection and even open it up to inspect the Cam. They tell me the Cam is now causing the misfire but all of the oil sending components are working normal (now that the oil filter has changed) Now I am down another $250.
I send that to the Manager, no reply. At this point I am putting around scared to do more damage, low speed low idle. So I took it to the Dodge Shop.
They do another diagnostic as well as check any and all oil sending components and can find nothing wrong with the oil pressure or other components. There is the misfire code still. So they tell me they can't really tell because all of the history codes are erased as well. (another $250 out of pocket).
So NOW I need about $5000-$7000 worth of work and all the manager says is that the Dodge dealer says its working fine, not exactly what they said, and denies all responsibility! The Manager @ Mr Lube tells me there is no way it was the oil filter, even though the string of events as well as the initial mechanic say it is most likely the cause, as well as a filter manufacturer stating it can. AND the fact that they chose to erase all of the codes, PLUS the oil pressure problem goes away After they change the filter with an OEM one, and then ask me to have someone inspect it. Totally feel cheated and ripped off.

UPDATE!
Well, They posted that they wanted me to give them info so they could look into it and get back to me, but I had to get ahold of them. Then more of the same. They ignore the initial diagnosis and go with the one AFTER they cleared all of the codes and change the filter and toss the bad one. Then tell me that if the filter was faulty it would be an entire batch. SO I reached out to a friend that Manages a branch in Saskatchewan and he tells me that they DO get the Occasional bad filter, NOT by the batch. So once again, they are denying ANY fault and leaving me hanging with the bill.

Had to do an emergency oil change so just drove into Mr. Lube's centre. Nice service (asked if my windows wanted to be washed, checked tires, checked air filters etc) but they charged me $140 for a standard oil change (synthetic oil) when my car dealership center charges me only $89 (same synthetic). Will never go to Mr. Lube ever again. Weeks later I called my car dealership and they said that they have large vats of oils so they can charge lower and Mr. Lube probably uses up small bottles of oils so that's why they over charge/rip people off. Now I know and will only bring my car to my dealership.warning ladies! I probaby got ripped off because I'm a female. Search/shop around before hand and only go to your car dealership!

Editing to add that after my appointment my tire pressure gauge was on. The tire pressure was 12psi too low. I additionally was not informed to torque my wheels after driving a bit - good thing I know how to keep myself safe because Mr. Lube doesn't care.

Absolutely ridiculous. Called last night to plan to get my tires changed and the individual said it was $49.99. Failed to mention "shop supplies" of $7.99. What "shop supplies" go into switching my tires over that are already on rims?

Showed up at 8am and was told a 4 hour wait. I get that the wait times will be longer due to the snow so I decided to wait.

First, the employee changes his friends tires first - skipped the line, took forever. They only have one tire bay out of two open.

There were 5 people in front of me (now including this line-skipper friend), and it is taking FOREVER. At 3pm my tires are changed - keeping in mind it only took them 30 minutes to change my tires in total. Then I was blocked in by a delivery truck for an additional 30 minutes. For those of you not math inclined - this is 7.5 hours I've waited here for a tire change that was over the price quoted (not by much but you can see why I'm upset after everything else).

I would never do this again. I had initially chosen Mr. Lube because it was $20 cheaper than the competition that I could get an appointment (note: a 30 minute appointment) for on Monday. The $20 is not worth the all day wait.

This location is clearly mismanaged and the employees are (1) not properly supervised to not allow line-cutter friends and (2) not sufficiently motivated to get the job done in a timely manner.

Give me an impact drill and it would have taken me 30 minutes and would have been worth the cold. What a waste of time and money.

Today's experience was awful. It's been more than 3 years that I go to Mr. Lube for oil change. I was always welcomed and treated well even in another cities. I never changed oil anywhere else and recommended Mr. Lube to dozens of my friends. I had no problem and I was always happy till today. Today at this location I was not welcomed, Tire pressure was not checked, battery was not checked, lights were not checked, the doors were not checked, cabin filter was not checked, windshield was not cleaned etc. I told the guy who Is also the manager of the store and he said that battery looks fine and he said he was focused to something else and it is his bad. I will try to avoid this branch as much as I can. But I don't want Mr. Lube to lose it's concentration about customer satisfaction.
