Mr. Lube in Walmart

Went to this Mr. Lube twice - the first time when I told the person at the counter I was there for an oil change, they laughed at me and said 'It's winter tire season'. I was well aware and had no issue waiting or coming back later but I guess that wasn't an option. I made the mistake of going back in the summer for an oil change - no wait this time which was fantastic. When I dropped off my car I let them know that one of the break lights was out and if they could call me to confirm when they checked, I'd buy a new one for them to install. I got a call that my car was ready about an hour later - nothing about the break light. When I got there to get my car, I asked about it again and they said they check all the lights as part of the service and there was no note about any lights being out. I asked them to check with me and sure enough, one of the break lights was out. I went over to Canadian Tire and picked up the light. Brought it back and the guy that was going to replace it broke my light cover - not the end of the world. Mistakes happen and he was very apologetic. What was not okay was the way his manager, Kyle, reacted. He started cursing and yelling at this poor employee for making an honest mistake. It was gross to watch and I wonder how he speaks to them when there are no customers around. I told him it was unacceptable to speak to anyone that way and he made a big show of apologizing to me. I told him it wasn't me who deserved the apology.
They said they would order a new light cover and I could come back in a couple days to get it put on - no charge. I left and about half way home turned the AC on. It was making this really loud kazoo-like noise and it was clear that the cabin filter hadn't been installed correctly. I went back the next day and they fixed it. Then I went back again a couple days later to have the new brake light cover put on. No issue with that.
A couple days ago, I looked at the sticker for when I would be due for my next oil change and realized I was almost at that point. I went to a different Mr. Lube that I used to go to and never had any issues with and they told me that the sticker had been printed incorrectly and I wasn't due for another 3000kms. I guess they did that so I would go back sooner than necessary and spend more money. Safe to say I will never be going back to this Mr. Lube.

What a joke.was told no time for oil change due to tire changes.isn't it first come first serve? How can you not do any oil changes? Isn't that what you guys started out doing? I get it it's tire season but people still need oil changes.

Amazing workers and staff here! Came in to get a quote to get my stem valve on my tire fixed and they did it free of charge, deffinatly recommend this store

Just got back from my spring wheel change, and their service was quick and accommodating. I really appreciate that Bianca and the staff are honest, and don't try to fool you into unnecessary "fixes". I think I'm gonna trust them with further wheel changes and oil changes, as they seem to have a respect for their clients, which you don't find in many Mr. Lube locations!:)

Awful Customer Service!
Got my oil change done from this location a month ago. They did a complimentary air pressure check for my tires, and during that, they broke one of the tire valves and damaged the sensor it had. I went from the store to University and Calgary and my tire went totally flat when I got there, the University is just 20 minutes from Deerfoot City. I had to leave the car there for two days and get it towed. When I called in to complain about the incident, the lady on the phone didn't care. Instead of admitting their fault, she kept on saying that we told you that you need to replace that sensor. I don't know much about cars or mechanical stuff but I know that they have accidentally broken the valve or something that was the cause of the flat tire. I mean, everything was working fine before the appointment, and all of a sudden the sensor was so bad that it went totally flat in 20 mins. My question is that I was driving that car since October when I got the winter tires changed and it was going great, nothing happened to the tire, when I left the store after they tried to top up the air, I had a flat tire. So why didn't it happen before that? After about 20 minutes I had a flat tire, so Whatever happened, it was during that oil change.

PLUS, they didn't reset my oil change reset indicator and didn't fix the filter properly, oil is leaking and has stained my driveway. The representative I spoke to on the phone said that they can't do anything about the problems I have if I come in again they will reset the oil change indicator for me at no cost but to fix the tire and the filter (WHICH THEY LEFT LOOSEN) I will have to pay again.

I had to go see another mechanic to get all this fixed. I am very disappointed about the incident that happened. I understand that things happen, but I didn't like the fact that when I called in to complain and ask what they can do to fix this, they didn't own the mistake and did nothing to fix it. I hope no one has to go through a similar experience and receive such terrible CUSTOMER SERVICE again.

Do not go to this location, as the service technician/supervisor (Name is Moe) is looking for any way around to not helping customers in servicing their vehicles at this location.

I tried to do a tire change at this location, and got rejected because of a speed rating on a set of tires that I purchased not through Mr. Lube. He rejected to swap my tires on my Rims cause my factory tires shown V rating, but my replacement set were H rated. I clearly explained that the tires were still applicable for use on my vehicle at that rating, and that ratings are applicable to only the amount of stress a tire can take when driving at high speeds ranging up to 200+ kmhr only (which I would never since I drive an SUV). Tires were same size and and everything, and even showed employee manufacturers website even noting that the tires are suitable for use on the vehicle and still got rejected service.

In adding context, winter tires of the same size would not be V rated tires from any manufacturer. If I bought them from Mr.lube, sized specific and everything for my SUV, are they still not aloud to install them cause they are Q, S, or T rated tires vs V rated tires. What a joke of training and knowledge on products they provide to their lead technicians.

Good place to get new tires and lubes for your lucky car.
Reasonable price and quick service.

They pretty much chased the whole line away in the morning and took 3 customers, no wonder this company is failing. If you go to Mr lube go t a different store

Went in for a tire change (not on rims) and an oil change burning the very bad snow and roads they were already overbooked but everyone stayed late to finish my van off I was extremely appreciative and it was a better then anticipated experience thank you very much

Went in for a tire swap (in November! After the first snow! Bad adulting on my part). I didn't make it right at 8 as planned - closer to 9 - but Bianca and her crew squoze me in despite the fact that it meant a late finish for all three of them - on a Friday night, no less.

They were professional, polite and efficient, but be warned: if you are dumb like me and wait until the last seasonal minute for your tire change, you need to be there first thing in the morning to get a spot, and be prepared to leave your vehicle all day. That's the way it is when you are in a first-come, first-served facility in prime tire swap season. This team was clearly doing their best to help everyone they could, but there are only so many tire swaps three people can manage in one day.

Terrible because the bolt was on the side of the tire they didn't want to fix it because it wouldn't hold, but wanted to sell me 2 new tires

Extremely busy being as only 2 people were working when I went in but service was as prompt and professional as could be expected.

Quite nice service, changed my tires fast and good + made a car check, all in 1 hour. Highly satisfied

The girl that I dealt with was amazing. Grace I think it was. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Give her a raise.

All I needed was my lug nuts retorqued and the lady working there refused saying it was a “hazard” since I did not get my tires put on there. Last time I checked having tires fly off when driving on the highway would be a bigger hazard. If you don’t wanna do a simple service just ask someone else.

Never got anything from here. But the gentleman I talk on the phone with was very polite and friendly. Seemed very knowledgeable and very helpful. Will definitely be giving these guys a shot.

Go to jiffy lube. All these guys do is try to push sales of other products by telling you your car is going to fall apart. Most of the staff are high school students with no mechanical experience whatsoever

Staff are friendly and efficient can be pricey w/o coupon. Would probably go more often if they didn't try and sell me the farm when I'm there.

Recently been coming to this location and all the mechanics ive dealt with have always been very friendly and respectful.

I went to get a quote for tires and they couldn't check in the system for problems with the internet, after waiting for almost 20 minutes and dealing with 3 different guys in the store.

Great service with great price. The manager kept me informed the entire time I was waiting for the work to be done. Explained clearly about the process. Very polite and professional. I have been using this facility for over three years. It's just getting better every time.

I get my oil change done here for my work van, and everything I'm in they are quick and efficient. They give me an overall idea of the health of my van and aren't pushy about every little thing. If it's bad they will tell you if it'll survive another round till you come in again they will let you know. Perfect overall service could not be happier.

Policy is junk they won't let you put your tires where you want them and they won't let you put on a different size that is 3% or more of a difference even if its your mud truck

and if you try to get what you want the front desk guy will say I know how to do my job

Came at 8am on a snowy day, got in 2nd. They helped me find the right size tires (my first car so i don't know much) and were helpful even when I got the wrong size. The quoted "a couple of hours" but it barely took more than 2hrs. Guy at the counter was super helpful and quick (Kevin I think). Great experience, they'll now be my go-to for tires and oil changes.

So I had good experiences with these guys for oil changes and other things but the last time wasn't (keep in mind this happened two or more months ago). I had a slow leak on my tire, brought it in for a check and the gentleman said it can't be fixed because it's around the bead. And of course they can't sell one tire but they have to sell two which I get. So I bought a portable air compressor until winter started in the meantime. I decided to check it myself when I wanted to swap my tires around for my winter ones. The tire they said can't be fixed. Well I fixed it, it was just a nail (no where near the bead). So I patched it up and gave it a test before swapping out my tire and it's fine now. Could have been an honest mistake on their part who knows. Plus I also had to pretty much pay them to tell me they can't fix.

I HIGHLY recommend you AVOID going to mr Lube for your oil change.

I 0urchased my car in August of 2019, which was fully insoected at this time. Brakes were perfect. January of 2020, I had my oil changed on my car at a Mr Lube (Deerfoot City location). My car is parked most of the winter, so it wasn't until March of 2020, that I noticed my brakes felt off in my car, but I couldn’t quite tell. My car was almost entirely parked until May as I had a work vehicle I drove instead. At the beginning of May, I was laid off. May, I drove my car to BC, and had my mom test my brakes, and she noticed they felt spongy. Upon return to Alberta at the end of May, my car was parked. June 10th, my passenger side front window was broken into. I decided to pay this out of pocket and took my car to my local mechanic. I had him look at the brakes while he was there. He called me on June 26th to tell me that somehow, oil had gotten into the brake fluid reservoir. He knows this was oil because the seal around the brake fluid reservoir was bloated and like “blubber”. As a result of this oil, the pistons in my brakes had begun to fail, causing the brake pads to wear extremely unevenly. This is stated on the quote I was provided. He states this was likely caused by my last oil change place making an error (Mr Lube). I contacted them, and they refuse to take any fault for the damage to my vehicle. I have been quoted at $3544.32 to repair the entire system. I contacted their local office and spoke with a man named Amon, who was unprofessional, rude, and spoke overtop of me the entire conversation. He made no effort to listen to my story, and instead told me I was being taken advantage of by my mechanic (despite having photos of the physical damage which couldn't have been caused in the 3 days my car was at the shop), and told me that unless i had my mechanic stand up in court, they refused to pay. This was complete and utter garbage. I have now been out a vehicle for over a month and am forced to pay out of pocket for this, during a pandemic while jobless. I am beyond upset with this company and highly recommend you go SOMEWHERE ELSE for your oil change. They WILL make a mistake. Maybe not this time, but it WILL happen, and they will refuse to take ANY responsibility.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They make you feel as if they genuinely care about your safety in your vehicle. I've only dealt with the weekend staff and they are all top notch!

Complete failure of Mr Lube reputation. The Walmart location is a disgrace to quick lube franchise. A staff member was available to ask me what I would like done 15 minutes after my arrival. After I requested an oil change, they told me they'd get it done in about an hour and a half.
Better stick to standalone proper locations.

They need to change their closing time to 5pm. They will turn you away at 5: 30 even though they close at six. Don't bother going - worst Mr Lube in Calgary by far. Lazy employees and false advertising on business hours.

Dear Mr. Lube!

This place is terrible.there was No one seems to be at the reception nor in the tyre shop to talk, when I visited for a tyre inspection. When I asked one gye from the shop, he has to come and wake up the girl sitting inside the office. I told her, for a flat tyre repair your charges are much higher than to Canadian tyre. She got annoyed me and made up with a tyre puncture with her team, at the edge of the tyre, stating that nonrepairable. Another gye took my time to look for new tyres to replace my old tyres for nearly 30 to 40 minutes extra time and he is unable to explain the Walmart full warranty for new tyres that I bought on the same day. Another girl is advising me that your vehicle's oil level is very low, and pushing me for adding up oil into my vehicle to increase my bill, when there is normal level of oil. Extremely poor customer service with no knowledge of vehicles. PLs avoid this place. I will never return to this place again.

The girl working here is unknowledgeable and doesn't have experience. Just giving people the wrong information. Never coming back here even to change my oil.

I went there with a set of winter tires to replace on my car rims.the girl working here told me i have one bad tire from set of four.she wants me to buy a new tire instead of fixing that tire! Later i bought i tire from canadian tire as they don’t carry my tire size.when i came back she says she told me 2 tire and will not install new tire which i bought and she doesn’t wanna put my old 1 tire while replacement as she says it’s against the law and she doesn’t have common sense.i was refused to install the tires.i went to zee tires calgary they fix that tire which she said cant be fixed and i returned new tire which saved my money also was cheap installation there.she needs training and knowledge instead of a law book.
