I had a great experience at Mud, Sweat, and Gears, thanks to Braden, who helped me with a snowboard boot fitting. I have wide feet, which has made finding the right boots a bit of a challenge, but Braden had me try on several different options until we found a pair that I liked. His extensive knowledge and expertise were evident, and he even made some adjustments to the insoles so the boots fit perfectly. I highly recommend Mud, Sweat, and Gears, thanks Braden!

I bought a over the winter. I was unsure on what size to buy as I couldn't test ride it. The sales people didn't seem as knowledgeable as other bike shops around the city. They assured me the bike would fit, when spring came and it didn't feel right, I did more research and it is too big. Since it was a winter purchase it's too late to return. Other bike shops will size the bike too you. They do have a good selection and sales though

One of the best bike shops I have ever been to in the Edmonton area. Staff and service is amazing and the selection is superb. Always love going over to get parts and just chat bikes! Brayden your the bomb!

Doing a follow up review of South Side MSG to my original post from two weeks ago.
I had MSG South put on a Sram AXS system on my new bike. On my first ride. I was very careful when shifting into the high gears. Very glad that I did because I ended up dropping the chain between the spokes and cassette. Ride was over! I won’t be going to MSG South ever again.
I ended up going to MSG West because there was no more trust with South location.
The first bike tech to assist me was super friendly and helped me ASAP. I told him the issue and upon inspection. He told me that the limit screw wasn’t adjusted what so ever. Frustrating!
I told the tech the issues I went through when purchasing the bike at South location and without hesitation. He jumped at the opportunity and helped me out. He spent the better part of an hour tuning my suspension and educating on what I need to do to set up the bike on how I would like it. Much, much appreciation. Hats off to MSG west location.

A BIG thank you to the staff of the Sherwood Park location, they were a pleasure to deal with.they went above and beyond in their service. The bike selection and their willingness to help an old guy out was really appreciated. I definitly recommend them.

This morning was my first time visiting Mud, Sweat & Gears. As soon as I walked in staff all greeted me smiling. I was looking for a part for my mountain bike and they were extremely helpful, going out of their way to get what I needed. A far, far better vibe and experience than the other bike shop in Sherwood Park.

I recently had the opportunity to deal with Paul during my visit to Sherwood Park.
I told Paul that I needed to rent a bike during my stay (so I could ride with the grandchildren).
Paul stated they do not normally rent out of this location but would make it happen - and - True to his word, he made a bike available to me.
The staff at the Sherwood Park -Montana's location were great to deal with.
The staff were very friendly (I did not have to go hunting for assistance) and I found them to be extremely knowledgeable in the products they carry.
I will be going back there the next time I am in Sherwood Park for sure.

Been my bike shop of choice for many years and many bikes. Will continue to shop & service with Paul and the crew.

Called Mud Sweat and Gears to inquire about a bike tune up and timelines for service. I had purchased my bike from them several years before. The person on the phone was dismissive and eager to finish the call, leaving me to feel he had better things to do vs.speaking to me. As a recreational bike rider, this reinforced my belief of specialty bike shops not being inclusive.

I bought a couple bikes from the Sherwood Park MSG store now and it would be my first choice hands down if I were looking for another bike, or needed any parts or service.
Paul the crew are very friendly and helpful. Take the time to show you the bikes, explain the differences between the ones in whatever your price range is and make going there an overall very positive experience.

Phenomenal customer service! For an online order, a staff member (Dave) connected with me inside of a day to double check some details, and then went above and beyond to help me out. Will definitely swing by when needing bike stuff again!

I’ve been to MS&G several times since they opened. These guys have been nothing short of amazing! They have always been quick to help me out and given professional advice every time! Highly recommended shop!

I’ve had a few dealings with MSG. Bought a couple bikes, some upgrades, got some service done. They have great stores, well laid out and organized.
I’ve had to move away from utilizing the LBS as the sharp learning curve to new bike geometry landed me with the wrong steed to start and DTC was the most cost effective means to set it straight. Can’t point the finger at anyone else, it was what it was.
Service is stellar, if you bought the bike from them. I seemed to get charged for pretty much everything while my riding buddy got everything free or stupid cheap.
Definitely recommended for most people, I just don’t feel like a “fit”. Weird to say that as an enthusiast who’s spent approximately $20k on bikes and parts in just 3 years.

I took my child's tire in for an inner tube repair (1 yr old tire) which I was told would be $29. When I returned to pick up the tire I was charged $53 as the technician said that the tire needed to be replaced so he took it upon himself to also change the tire without calling me first to get my consent to do so. I asked for the old tire back but mysteriously he couldn't find it. (even though the repair was done just 3 hrs prior). The new tire is not the same as the existing tire, different tread and look and I was told I had to pay the $53 charge owing as the work was already done. I am very disappointed in the service at Mud Sweat Gears Sherwood Park location; I won't be returning to be duped again.

They don’t update schedule or their voicemail. Only find out they are closed after driving across the city to the location complete waste of time

My first visit to mud sweat and gears was 8 years ago when i bought my daughter her very first pair of skis at 4 years old. Since then I have trusted them when buying all of our outdoor gear including mountain bikes, countless pairs of skis, boots, helmets etc.

Just last week I decided to upgrade my skis while in buying my daughter a new set as she outgrew hers. Once again, after a few discussions, the tech specialist in Sherwood Park steered me towards a new pair of K2’s with Look bindings.

We just finished a weekend in Jasper and I have to admit. …it was the most confident I’ve ever felt over skis.

Thanks a million MSG! Never high pressure… never upselling …. Just getting you into the gear you need.

I came in for a new kids helmet and the staff were so helpful in sizing and checking stock for additional options.

We had a great side discussion about little snowboards and the riglet reel.

I have come here for 15 years for service, parts, gear and will continue to do so, telling everyone where to find great people.

I trekked out to Mud Sweat and Gears in Sherwood Park after dropping by their west end location in search of a snowboard. I was informed that only Sherwood Park and a few other suburban locations carry boards. I walked in with a fairly decent idea of what I wanted, but was given many options, all based on sound advice and obvious real experience by Lee (A+ service and a genuine dude).

Previously I have mainly bought from big chain places, well probably not anymore, I was pleasantly surprised at the difference in product knowledge and the ability to understand what I want and need. I'm an intermediate boarder at best, but there are no elitist attitudes here, just honest advice.

I'll go back in future for all my boarding purchases and will recommend to anyone.

Staff are very knowledgeable in there work. They have great recommendations for bikes. The service there is great and equipment is not too expensive. All around great place.

I've consistently been happy with the service at MSG, in this location and the 2 in Edmonton. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable but not pushy (they must not make commission). I've purchased stuff for summer and winter there, with the help of their staff (bikes and ski/snowboard gear). A+! Your staff is awesome.

I brought my skis in last week and they had them ready for the season in an efficient and timely manner! I am new to skiing, but everyone there is super helpful and very knowledgable!

The staff at MSG are super helpful & knowledgeable. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and their service department is top notch too. Would not hesitate for a second to recommend to anyone!

I have been a long time supporter of our local bike shop since they opened.
Unfortunately they have become corporate and don’t care
I just bought a new $1100 Norco and love it, rode it an hour in Sherwood Park then moved out to Victoria for the next few months.
2 hrs more of riding and my chain jumped on a non stress gear change, it bent the derailer then the chain broke.
I Called MS&G’s, was told it was wear and tear and I will need to bring it in for any warranty work, keeping in mind I am on Vancouver island for the next few months, driving my bike 14+ hours for service is not reality.
I have rode my bike a total of 3 hrs so buyer beware of their arrogance and lack of warranty.
Save yourself any issues and buy elsewhere, go where they actually back their product and care about customer experience
On a positive note, I found an amazing, professional bike shop in Sidney, BC that have amazing customer focus, Russ Hays.
They got me up and running in a couple of days
On a side note, Paul, from Mud Sweat and Gears offered me a complimentary Silver service which is great, yet I am still in victoria

The whole experience has been condescending and negative, bottom line, check you warranty if you even consider buying from this business, I would avoid them

We came from Calgary and something went wrong with my son’s bike, we told them that we were in a hurry, and they fixed the bike extremely quickly.

Quickly figured out the right size of tires and gave me a great price. Super service and friendly staff.

Just got back from my trip, MSG saved my holiday, packed up on the long weekend and discovered my chain was broken. When I arrived at MSG the guys were just closing up, but they quickly replaced my chain and gears, set everything. Bike ran awesome all trip, thanks guys! Friendly fast service, highly recommended

I live in the Northwest Territories and have been unable to visit myself. But everyone at M, S & G we’re so helpful in organizing my order via email and telephone and then helping to get it shipped to NWT. Couldn’t have asked for better service, especially at this time.

Theese guys know thier stuff i went in a total noob. I came out knowing wich end of the bike points at the ground. If they can help me they can help anyone! 1 bonus star for the sweet demo helmets.

Super nice guys! I bought a bike here years ago and didn't bring it in for first service within the first year. They gladly brought it in right away and did a 20min safety check and sent me home without having to pay. Thank you!

Customer service at the Sherwood Park location is terrible at best. Employees care more about their circle of friends then customers. Shop is small. Pre-ordered 2 bikes for April 2021 and finally got them September 2021. They never contacted me of the changes to the bikes to let me know that something was being changed on the bike or that the original bike that was pre-ordered was not available and the replaced with a new model while paying more for the newer model. I pre-ordered a large and a medium bike but when I went to pick up the bikes they were trying to tell me that i order 2 mediums and after they realized their mistake that had to pull the the large off of display to give to me. Not impressed, will be avoiding this store for years.

Updated: As you can see from the owners response there is no care about customers or defending his employees, only vendors. He's wrong, I was phoned numerous times about the bikes. The first time I saw the Large Kona was beginning of June. When the store kept phoning I decided to see if I could pay for both bikes in the middle of August and I could not. That is when the owner told me about the model was being upgraded. Then when the store finally phones to say both bikes are in, they removed my name from the Large Kona and put my name to 2 medium Kona's. When I went it and asked where the large is, the owner's comment was " hopefully it arrived". I told the owner I have already had this bike in my hand numerous times, that is when he decided that he should start looking for it to where he pulled the display model from the rack above to give me. When I made a comment about some of the hardware being changed again his comment was smug saying " all the pro's are using them. " I'm not a pro and did my research based online about the hardware. Not once was I informed that the specs did match nor were they going to tell me, they were just going to let me find out after I left the store. The owner would rather ignore you or give you a refund instead of trying to make the customer happy as per his response below. Another reason I went to mud, sweat and gears was told by other friends that they received 10% off of accessories after purchasing the bikes, I did not. As one employee said when I tried to purchase the bikes was "employees don't even get a discount. " The manufacturers supply issues were never the problem, it was service. This store is very disorganized and does not communicate well with anyone including it's own staff.

I'm always amazed at the amazing customer service I receive at Mud Sweat and Gears. They really went above and beyond to make my upcoming bike trip a possibility. Amazing. Thank you guys so so much!

Ive stopped in at this shop several times as a beginner, and each time the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They took the time to answer all my novice questions in a way that made me feel welcomed and accepted. Can't recommend this shop enough. 5 stars isn't enough. Thanks again guys!

Paul found a spare bike for me and put it aside until I was able to come down and pick it up. The staff there walked me through all the features of the bike, helped me pick some accessories and setup the bike to my size and weight. Thank you very much to everyone at Sherwood Park!

Exceptional customer service very time we go in! The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable. Mud, Sweat and Gears Sherwood Park is the location that we frequent. Our whole family has been set up with snowboarding, mountain biking, and longboarding gear all at this location. We have always been extremely pleased with the help that we have received over the past 6 years. We are lifelong customers. Thank you Mud, Sweat and Gears for all that you do!

Champs all over, always helpful… Paul and his team have helped with all my kids bikes, snow gear (and latest skateboards!) They went over the top to make my kid’s world with a bike this year (lucky, I know!) can’t say thank you enough!

The gears on our bike kept giving way so we listened to the sonic 102.9 advertisements and took it Mud Sweat and Gears for a repair. Turn around time was quick, one week instead of the quoted three, however, after we received our bike and paid ~$200, we decided to take it for a test ride just before driving home. The breaks gave out again. We returned to the store quite disgruntled and my husband was in pain because when the gears let go again, he hit his knee on the bike when pedaling down. We said "we just paid ~$200 for a fix, and you gave us new breaks and gears and didn't solve our problem. It's like going into a auto-mechanic for an oil change and they decide to replace the engine and charge you for it". They were accommodating and one of the guys in the back, Cayle (sp?) was able to see that it was a gear issue that costs $20 to fix, he said it would take half an hour. He quickly fixed the issue for free (?) and the bike is in perfect working order. We felt very uncomfortable with complaining. The representatives stated that there were just kids in the back learning and not experts and that's why the problem was over looked. We appreciate the problem being rectified, however, it was not a good experience, we feel our request was not properly triaged and the 'standard' tune up package was provided in loo, and we do not feel there are qualified professionals providing an expensive and necessary service for the job we expected and paid for them to perform.

They're very helpful both over the phone and in-store. I am grateful that they were able to hold my bike until I got there after work as it was the only one left. I went in for a basket a few days later thinking I wanted one colour (not in stock) and went with a suggestion for another. It turned out very well for me and I am a happy customer. I only wish their website mirrors in-store stock and I understand there's a very high demand of bikes right now so they do what they can with what they have.

They know bikes. And they provide honest support to your bike repairs.
Great selection of quality bikes and accessories.

I want to give a big thanks to the techs at this shop, I had bought a new hard tail from another shop, and was having issues with the shifting and gears. They took the time to explain it needed an upgrade. I wasn't prepared to already put a cost into the new ride. But it made a huge difference.

I recently brought my bike in and was not pleased with the results of the service I had (continue reading.). It seemed liked one thing after another kept happening after I took the bike home, some the result of what I thought was MSG's fault and others due to aging parts on my bike.

I had a number of back and forth emails (mostly mine.) with the owner Paul Burgess and he was quite accommodating. I have to admit, I was extremely frustrated as I was unable to ride my bike during my trip, and took a lot of it out on MSG, which may have been unfair.

I met with Paul and we discussed a number of issues and he was more than willing to work with me to make things right and get me back on the 'trail'. The service manager, Brandon, got my bike set up, ready to roll and we also discussed some other issues with my bike. Brandon was professional and very helpful.

While my initial experience with MSG was not a great one (I had nothing but great service in the past), I will be a returning customer and would like to thank the team at Mud, Sweat and Gears for their help.

My back tire kept deflating so I brought my bike here. They were fast, efficient and effective. I was very impressed. It was only 25 dollars to fix the back tire when I was expecting to spend way more than that. I was wowed by the customer service.

Their Sherwood Park truck driver needs to learn how to drive better. He pulled out in front of me while I had my kids with me and could clearly see me coming and didn't even acknowledge what he had done.

I worked with Paul, the owner, who was very patient with me in finding a new bike. I was very picky but he was determined to find the right bike for me. They even included 2 years of tune-ups!

This shop is pretty cool and there's way more bikes in there than I expected. They also have quite a selection of high-end parts and accessories. This location seems to have mainly mountain bikes/parts but I'm sure one of the other locations has other bikes as well. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Great shop, haven't had a bike since I was a kid, went in completely green and Jeff really made the process easy. Left with an awesome bike and really comfortable that I got enough info and advice to make the right choice

I bought my bike here a couple of years ago and dealt with the owner who was very helpful. Whenever I drop by the sales and service people have been awesome assisting me.

Friendly staff and locally owned! Staff are super knowledgeable and there is a great selection of bikes and random gear. The service is quite well done. This place is a little pricey but it is a locally owned place so that is to be expected. The price is worth it though.
