I've never eaten here, so this review is not about the food. It's about that abhorrent nature in which Solo treats his staff. Primarily not paying them and refusing to give an ROE, which I believe is against the law. I will never support an establishment that abuses its staff

You wanna eat west Africa and east India food this is the place plus if you wanna dance like I the old zanzibar Africa this is the place the weekend

This is one of the best restaurant I’ve been in Alberta the chef is humble and kind and the staffs too the food was super amazing and delicious?

We got some of the Indian dishes for take out - it was all delicious! Everything was made fresh and was reasonably priced.

I'm an African man who happens to like Indian dishes; the tandoori chicken is out of this world. It's a must try restaurant.

Ate there for the 4th time this past week.
Food is still amazing but restaurant is looking a bit rough now as they are struggling to keep the lights on post covid.

The food is made fresh from scratch so it may take a while to be ready, so if you are the impatient type.order ahead for a great experience.its definitely worth the wait.

Give them a try and help local small businesses stay open.

I am a delivery driver for DoorDash. One time over this past summer I picked up from here and waited 20 minutes for them to even greet me and other customers. Meanwhile, they were yapping away in their own language and laughing in the back. After they finally got my customers order ready, I dropped it off only to receive a call from the customer saying half the order was missing. Don’t ever pick up from here if you’re a delivery driver

Fantastic food and a great place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. But I have order takeaway, food was tasty and Fresh. Service was fast, Prices are reasonable. Love Indian and African food. My recommended dishes!

Food was delicious and their butter chicken wrap is BOMB and a must try! Very friendly owner and atmosphere. Also the portions you get are very generous for the price you pay.

Fabulous food! Great variety of dishes. Generous portions. 30 years ago I had a heavenly Malai Kofta in a little rooftop restaurant in Jaipur, and have been searching for another as good. Mumbai Dakar's is definitely the closest to it by far.

Ordered a variety of dishes and every item was delicious. Generous portions of a variety of meats/stews. The parathas were MOUTH watering. The perfect fusion of dishes from India and Africa ️

I really like the food there, I mostly order meat and banana plantains or fries, always hot and well served. Anyone who likes Dibi, this is the place to go.

My husband I eat here every few weeks. We tend to eat the Senegalese menu items but have tried some of the Indian food as well - good naan, delicious daal. The Thiebou Jenn is the best I have ever had and I have travelled to Senegal. Serving sizes are decent and the service is great.

Absolutely the best African Indian restaurant in Edmonton city. Must try thieboudjem, dibi etc. Always incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to be back in the restaurant to see everyone. Thank you Solo.

We ordered the beef maffeh for takeout and it was delicious! Large portion sizes and very flavourful. I can't wait to try more Senegalese food from here!

I ordered through skipthedishes. The food was amazing I had the dibi with jollof rice and plantains. The owners are very friendly would definitely recommend!

My experience here was so great, had the vindaloo and that was amazing so yummy. The gentleman that served us was very informative and helpful as i am new to the vegetarian menu. The big decorative light in the center of the restaurant also creates a nice open feel. I highly recommend this place for any occasion.

Fantastic food! We ordered from here for the first time tonight. We live close by and I’ve been meaning to try them out, so thought we’d order in tonight and support a local restaurant.
Everything was incredibly tasty. We ordered butter chicken, beef curry, Kadai Paneer, coconut rice, saffron rice and naan. We definitely ordered too much rice, so don’t let the price of the rice fool you in thinking it’s a small serving. (It’s on $4.99 per order)

I’ll definitely be ordering from here again.

This is my go-to Indian restaurant, good food and friendly staff. It really should become a staple of the neighbourhood.

I am so happy there is a great Indian food restaurant near by. I just left there and I am so happy with the food! You gotta eat here! The coconut nann is worth going back for!

I was very much satisfied with the taste of the food and friendliness of the staffs. The food was fresh and hot. Their Butter Chicken is the best in the town.

They have lunch and dinner buffet that has a wide variety of foods to choose from. The tables are laid well and staff humble. I also liked their samosas. The meals are excellent for all from family, dates, business etc.

My friends and I had a Biriyani quest for the best Biriyani in the city of Edmonton. We gathered the dish from 8 different Edmonton restaurants. After much deliberation, Mumbai Dakar placed at #1. Coming in 2nd we had Namaste and in 3rd Coriander Cuisine.

I stopped by for lunch today and, once again, had a great meal with excellent service. Would suggest everyone give this resturaunt a try.

Loved the food. Have gone two times at opening though and had to wait for the food to be set out. The server was great though. Very friendly and personable. Try the beverages! Super yummy. WILL be going again.

Absolutely incredible, I always come for the buffet and I am never disappointed. There is always a wide selection of fresh and delicious dishes. It is very well priced. The staff is so friendly and accommodating as well. It is also a convenient location close to my house. All these factors have brought me here at least 5 times in the last month! Visited Mumbai Dakar twice.generous staff, reasonable price and above all very good and tasty food.it wont disappoint you. Also, all of their food is Halal.

Excellent selection in the buffet, the different dishes were all delicious. I really enjoyed being able to try them all. The coconut naan was awesome!

Some of the best Indian food in the city. Delicious classics like butter chicken and paneer, with some unique but equally delicious features as well.

I am vegan and the chef here was so accommodating. He created two incredible dishes (cauliflower and another black chick pea) the food was just delicious and the service was truly above and beyond!:) go go go I can’t recommend it enough

Good food. Each dish is spiced just right. The appetizers, main meal and dessert in the buffet is plentiful and delicious. Visit once, you will be back for more.
