Food was OK, and service was bad. The staff was in a rush. We ordered take out and most of the items from the food were missing when we reached home. Negligent.

Starting with food it is like drinking oil. We ordered chole bhature and it looks great but when you eat its literally drinking oil. I was worried USA will attack on me at any moment lol. Service is terrible. If you wanna spoil your banff experience and feel grose in stomach take your friends there.

First time eating here. It was very delicious. We had butter chicken, mushroom coconut curry, rice and Naan. I recommend any of it. All was very good.

This place is delicious and delightful! Our waiter, Salem, was fantastic and has great taste in recommending dishes. Thank you for a great dinner! We will definitely come back!

The cuisine was fantastic, particularly the chat platter. We were informed that it was the menu's debut for that dish and that the entire menu had been revamped.

Wonderful South Indian restaurant! Fast, friendly service featuring very interesting dishes seldom seen in typical Canadian Indian restaurants. Nice decor located in the heart of Canmore. Highly recommend!

First time in this restaurant. The food was excellent, we had the chicken biryani and the chickpea curry, roti and naan bread. Service was very good. I recommend this restaurant, and I will be back again.

The food was overpriced and tasteless. We are ordered a dosa and waited over an hour for the food, but when it arrived, we were underwhelmed the dosa was tiny and barely the size of a plate. We chose to leave. Please do not come here, the review are fake and untrue.

Also if you take a look at the reviews, absolutely no writes like that also the pictures the food looks nothing like that.

This place was an absolute delight for Indian cuisine in a small mountain town. They have all the classic dishes you could ask for and special ones I have never heard of. The Kathal Masala was a unique vegetarian dish using jackfruit and stone flower. It was delicious and the paneer dishes we ordered were also amazing. One of our friends could not stop raving about the chicken biryani. It is quite pricey as everything adds up quickly, but so worth it! I would recommend ordering more naan and sharing the curry dishes between two people. We had more than enough for leftovers with the generous portion sizes.

First and foremost - our entire family got sick after dining here. We knew from our first bite into the tikka masala that this was going to happen. The chicken tasted like it sat in the freezer for at least a year. It literally tasted like the freezer, even with all those spices. The lamb skewers were unbelievably dry and “lamby”, and the chaat platter was so basic but overvalued that we couldn’t believe it. The only thing good about this place was the naan. The price was outrageous overall, especially considering that their proteins were disgustingly old.

Delicious food, nice modern decor. Reminded us of times in Mumbai. Ordered prawn curry - came cooked inside a sealed coconut! - and mutton curry. Both were excellent. Loved the gluten-free roti and appreciated the Kingfisher beer:)

The menu has changed. The new menu looks extremely overpriced. The photos from previous reviews are misleading and outdated.

Cozy ambience, very welcoming staff, good food. I tried Indian tea, wasn’t that great but good to have in an area like Banff. Being a Maharastrian, I am fond of Marathi food. One such unique dish we tried at this restaurant is Vangi with kala masala (vidarbha style). We absolutely loved it. Each Indian restaurant offers only paneer and creamy curry options. But I felt this was really unique and a must try.

This has been the place of choice for our guests when stopping by Canmore/Banff for hike and dinner.
Went 3 times in the last month and tried most of the menu. Everything is delicious. I appreciate that they warn you on the menu that the wait can be a little long due to the nature of the cuisine. However, it was only the 1st time we visited that our wait was actually significantly long. (most of these situations, i chalk up to COVID and restaurant still finding their feet). Regardless, the food was worth the wait and we enjoyed our Tamarind sours and Jaljeera margaritas with gusto while we waited.

Having had most the menu at this point, I can say it's all delicious. But the Momos and the Tandoori Gobi have my heart for sure!

Hoping they can get a few more staff eventually because I've seen the same 3 wait staff members each time I've been there, and i KNOW what that life is like. (Ya'll are doing great by the way)

Would definitely recommend! Definitely some of most interesting the best Indian/Indian Fusion cuisine I've had.

Food was awesome, service was excellent and authentic! Suban our server was great at recommendations and portion was huge! Prices were affordable too.

Stopped for dinner here twice while we were in Canmore AB last week. Honestly one of the best Indian restaurants that we have ever been too.

The food was rich in flavour and simply leaves you wanting more! I especially loved the saag palak and veg pulao, every bite was more delightful than the previous. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good Indian meal. Being around for only 4months the place exudes character and style even for the most discerning food critic! We will be back for seconds - beat of luck for 2022!

This is a great East Indian restaurant. We ordered Butter Chicken, vegetable Malabar, Tandoori Goni, Kandhari Murg Tikka, basmati rice and garlic Naan bread. Everything was fantastic with lots of flavours. Welcome to Canmore! Love this food!

Easily the best Indian in Canmore & Banff. The menu is authentic, the food is exceptional, the setting is clean and relaxed, and the service is great. Our new bench mark.

You don't need to go to the maple leaf. This Indian restaurant is way beyond my expectation. Naan is freshly hot and soft, curry is very good, too. Good pricy with great load of food.

Amazing. After hearing that local legend Tony (from Graze food and drink) had started a new venture with some new partners at Mumbai Local, it was on my must try list. You can smell the food cooking as soon as you walk in and it just makes your mouth water. The food itself was delicious and very flavourful. The menu has a few unique items along with the traditional staples you’d expect from the cuisine. The portions are larger than I expected as well. Cannot recommend this place enough.

The food was SO amazing! Everything was very tasty and had the best flavours. My fiancé said it was the best chicken he has ever had. If you like Indian food definitely check this place out on your next visit to Canmore!

Finger licking missal pav and golgappas. We enjoyed an amazing early dinner at the restaurant. Folks from Mumbai and Delhi so you can imagine the taste and spice we expect and these guys nailed it. Cherry on the cake is their service. Definitely a must try!

The moment we walked in, we were treated to a lovely ambience. The colors and lighting were inviting. The menu offers an interesting mix of delicacies like gol gappa, chicken on a skewer with believe it or not, pomegranate glaze. Scrumptious meal! You guys rock! All the best for 2022.

I had the pleasure of visiting this gem of a place recently, the food here has to be one of the best Indian food I have had in Canada. I am from Mumbai and one of the dish I had sorely missed is Misal Pav and Mumbai local helped me end my craving. Other than Misal I tried their biriyani and tandoori dishes which were on point. My brother tried their dal (lentil curry) which was so delicious that I could just drink it up. I hope they open a location in Calgary. I'll be making sure that I visit this place whenever I am in Canmore. Their service was very welcoming and attentive and it was one of my best experience dining out recently. Thank you guys and keep up the great job

The kashmiri rogan ghost and goat dum biryani was one of the best I’ve had in Alberta. Highly recommended.

We tried two goat/lamb curries and an appetizer. They were all soooo good. We were the last customers but the service is still superb.

We started with the calamari, it was perfect! Then the spinach paneer, beef short ribs and butter chicken. Everything was amazing! Chai tea and naan bread, all made with depth and served piping hot. Our server was attentive and very friendly. We will definitely come back!

Very yummy and large portions! We shared their old Delhi butter chicken, chicken biryani and a soup (I can’t remember the name or find it on their online menu). Lots of spices used to make the food very flavourful and delicious. It was my first time trying Indian food and I definitely enjoyed it!

Visited Mumbai Local today. The experience was very nice, must try if you are in Canmore and looking for authentic Indian food flavours. The staff was very friendly.

Ordered take out for my family visiting from Toronto. I personally don't like spicy food, but this restaurant blew me away with the balance of flavor's they have in each dish.my family said they eat a lot of Indian food back in Ontario but this is the best they ever had. The menu is so diverse and well created. Never had a perfect calamari that is so tender, full of flavor and yet gluten free even the chutney was so amazing.and some items we had never see in other restaurants. The décor was so pleasant that we wished we should have dined in. We will come back for dinner sometime soon.

Taste really good. Better to order together and try different things. Main dishes dont come with any sides so need to order rice/ naan etc separately so ends up being a little pricy

Good food. Our reservation wasn't honored on time and had to wait 35 min but owner was very nice and welcoming.
Decor is decent, free parking around and best Indian cuisine in town.

We were coming in from BC, where there was lots of Indian options. This place exceeded my expectations.

The butter chicken was something I never had. It was not creamy, but in a very good way and truly unique.

The garlic naan and pulao rice was on point, and the pulao rice was also different from the others I have tasted. Veggie curry with paneer was great. For starter, we chose the fried califlower dish, which was personally not our cup of tea.

Amazing food and freindly staff. No matter how busy they are, we get top notch service and the food is incredible.

The real deal. Authentic Indian cuisine in a tastefully simple setting, all for a very reasonable price considering it is Canmore. Antonio was helpful, informative and a great host. Rebellion was the red wine, not bad, and you cannot find it in liquor stores. Come early as it does not seat a lot of people and lined up quickly.

Ate from Mumbai local twice while at Canmore. Second meal was 20 minutes back and I feel like i owe it to everyone to write this review! This restaurant is a jewel in the crown of Canmore. They have authentic flavours from all over India, top- notch quality, well balanced flavours and amazing service. You can’t say you’ve been to Canmore if you haven’t been to Mumbai Local ️.

One of our favourite Indian restaurants that we have EVER tried! The food is incredible delicious and fresh and they have SO many unique dishes that I have not had a chance of trying before. We went with a big group of 10 without reservations and they made sure to accommodate us. They were short staffed but did their best to have all of our needs met! If you are staying in Canmore, PLEASE GO!

Even with the situation businesses face with the labor shortage the wait wasn't long and at all, and the wait was well worth it. The food was amazing.highly recommended if you're ever around the area

The rib dosa was incredible. If you believe in god, god put this restaurant on earth with the glorious purpose of feeding us humans these dosas.

It’s a very large serving, I was very surprised by the amount of meat in this. More meat in this dosa than any other Indian dish I’ve ever had.

Hands down one of the best meals i had. The flavours from the short rib dosa was absolutely incredible! Spices were spot on however, the only issue i had with the dish was the fat was not trimmed. So it resembled pork belly. If thats how it is traditional - then no issue on my end. They were also, short staffed but that’s like most of the tourist towns. I found the waitress a little rude but understandable as the front was full and she was serving solo.

I would definitely hit up this spot again!

Mumbai Local is exceptionally good in respect of reception, pricing and food quality. We reached the restaurant very late. Still they took our order and finally offered us the option of dining in, though it was already 10.30 p.m. All the foods were superb and in huge quantity. If there was option, I would have given them 10 * rating. Prasad and Tony are really exceptional. Will recommend everybody visiting Canmore to try dining in here.
