My Calgary Plumber

I had a very poor experience with My Calgary Plumber and would recommend avoiding them. This is a shame because they do have a lot of good reviews but it seems the plumber, Alexander, has the majority of the poor reviews. On Friday evening my hot water tank stopped working. I called My Calgary Plumber and they sent Alexander on Saturday morning. However, he was rude and unprofessional. I said "hello", and all he said was "I'm cold". He walked in my home and went straight to the basement. Turned the hot water tank off and then back on again, and said it is working and charged me for a service call of $70 + GST. He did nothing to fix the problem because I still do not have hot water. When I asked him questions to understand what the problem is, he had no answers for me, and kept resorting to "I don't know". That is unacceptable. He barely said anything the entire time he was here. His customer service skills are poor. It was obvious he did not care for my problem and seemed like he had no interest in working on a Saturday.

I also asked him about a lingering "sewage" smell in one of my bathrooms and was wondering if there might be a backup in my pipes. He said he could fix the wax seal which might be the problem, but it would cost $580! (and no warranty). When I said that is ridiculously high, he said "well you could learn how to do it yourself then".

I was charged $73.50 (invoice #5372) for someone to show up with no tools, say "I don't know", and charge me for showing up. I now have to call another plumber to fix my problem. Waste of my time and money. The only positive I have is that the owner picked up the phone late at night on Friday and sent someone early on Saturday morning. But then when I told the owner about my concerns, he stopped answering me. Seems like Thaer, Luiz and Randy do a good job evident by the 5 star reviews - Alexander not so much.

Best service in the city. Fast and reliable. I called over the weekend and even with a high demand they find a way to came to my house with a short notice.

The service replaced my hot water tank within two business days of my calling them. And the price was considerably better than the other quotes I’d received. Would recommend for sure!

Thaer assessed the state of several toilets in a new home purchase, and recommended improvements with some and gave others his approval regarding safety and future non leak functionality. He also removed a garburator under a kitchen sink.

Thaer, the plumber arrived quickly and stopped the leak and replaced a large piece of ploy b with pec tubing. He also installed a new house shut off value. He was a pleasant and very friendly and shared what he was doing The cost of the work was shared before he started

Thaer came to our house this week to help us with a very problematic kitchen faucet and plumbing issue. He was very honest and helpful. We appreciated his willingness to help out and explain everything to my husband and I; we recently moved into this home and knew a few things needed attention but do not have the knowledge to do it ourselves. We will request him again when we get the next phases of our plumbing projects dealt with.

We discovered a leak from an upstairs bathroom one morning. Phoned a few companies but only My Calgary Plumber could send a tech out that afternoon. Thaer was friendly, on time, quickly assessed the issue, educated us on our options, and then booked us for the following business day. While working on our bathroom, he discovered there was more to our issue than able to see initially. Again, he assessed the situation, educated us on our options, and proceeded as per our decision. He fixed both problems, in a reasonable timeframe, for a reasonable price, and left our space clean. We’re pleased with our experience with Thaer and would phone My Calgary Plumber again.

I highly recommend Taher from My Calgary Plumber, very professional and highly knowledgeable. Knows his job and doesn't charge you extra dime and was very reasonable for an emergency weekend visit (no hidden fee no extra charge very fair pricing with clean detail estimation). We had a serious cartridge issue but he worked his magic and our issue got fixed in just one visit.

Great experience. They were able to send someone next day for our clogged kitchen sink. Thaer wrestled with the clog - which turned out to be very bad - with good spirits and offered good advice. Would definitely recommend.

Luiz came in on a weekend to check my hot water tank that started to leak. He told me the problem and even helped me drain the tank to prevent any flooding. He then told me he can replace it on Monday for a reasonable price, which they did. Thaer came first and was very nice and professional.
