Great selection of everything from textiles, Bentos, art supplies, ceramics and tea. I can pick up unique gifts, sweets and fresh Matcha at the same time.

Shipping is very quick and reasonable too, great for those times when you don’t want to drive yet still want to support local.

Another of my favourite stores in Kensington. It’s not a very big place, but lots of Japanese goods, including stationery, kitchenware, and apparel to browse. A lot of the items are designed with meticulous detail and colours. So difficult to resist from buying something here.

It's a small store with pleasant and bright interior, friendly stuff. You can find different Japanese goods here. There are a cute and calm atmosphere. I like it and i'd definitely recommend to visit this store.

Great place to visit if you miss Japan in its artistic kindness and you can't fly ti experience it directly. It is always a 10 minutes vacation:)

Every detail is deliberate, from the beautifully handwritten labels and price tags to the choice of products they offer. As a tourist, I doubt I’ll have a chance to personally recommend this store, so I wanted to make sure people knew about it.

The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell. If you need a piece from Japan, this is the place to go.

Service at this store is excellent. You can find Kyoto fresh tea, kanji ink pens, kimonos, essential Japanese soup base, and Japanese artists jewelry and so much more! A perfect store if you're obsessed with Japanese culture and household items.

Cute Japanese shop in Kensington that is always fun to browse and window shop. There's always something I end up wanting to buy even when I don't plan to before walking in. It's not common to find an authentic Japanese goods shop like this in Calgary, and they carry a variety of different products from stationary to tea/tea accessories, to skin and hair products, to dish and tableware and much much more. The staff are very kind and helpful-I asked one for tea recommendations and the tea she recommended tastes absolutely wonderful. It was a Genmaicha with matcha powder, and I definitely plan on restocking there when I'm out!

The people were so helpful in choosing things like bento boxes and the fabric wrap for bento boxes (which my partner is actually going to frame because its so nice). Great store, would definitely come back and would 100% recommend.

Wonderful shop, wonderful staff, wonderful stuff. One of my favourites in Calgary, and I’ve gotten a lot of joy everything I’ve picked up here from Tabi socks to Manga pens. In this time of restricted travel, a visit to Nanao Kimono is the next best thing to actually being back in Japan.

its kinda pricey but id say its fair because its probably imported from japan and the quality is so good!

I had heard nothing but glowing reviews from my friends so i had to check it out. The hand sani at the entrance was much appreciated, and a staff member greeted me with a warm welcome and an invitation to peruse.

Love this place. Very unique, curated selection of stationery, kitchenware, teaware, apparel, and other fun novelties from Japan. The owners and staff are all super nice nice and helpful. Since you can't travel to Japan right now, you might as well come here to get your souvenirs!

Very satisfied! I placed an online order last Monday for a few items, and it got shipped on the same day. I received them on Friday, all with tracked delivery and email updates on my shipment. They left a nice thank you note which I love!
I will be ordering again from them. We do not have a lot of Japanese items shops in Canada, so I'll be sure to continue supporting Nanao Kimono which offers great product and service.

I thought I had left a review already but apparently not. This is one of my favourite stores in Calgary. They sell very high quality goods imported from Japan. When I came back from Japan earlier this year, I had found an amazing matcha hand cream and asked them if she could bring it in and they did. My most used and favourite bowls were purchased here, as well as quality dish cloths and chopsticks. Check them out for unique gifts and quality kitchenware!

Amazing little shop with great Japanese style gifts. Hand painted bento boxes and handmade/painted chop sticks are beautiful for display or practical use. Many other little nic nacs and cool gifts right from Japan. I found the prices to be quite reasonable. This isn't wal mart its a mum and pop shop. Customer service is top notch fun and friendly

We found this hidden gem last year. We were looking for good quality matcha leaves and this place was selling them.

The matcha leaves sold here were definitely high quality and we can really taste the difference. Since then, we have been back regularly when we run low.

The owner is friendly and very accommodating. He has always tried to go above and beyond to help us get the product we need. In the past he has even given us products to try. He is also very knowledgeable about the stuff he sells. Yet he isn't arrogant and is very patient.

This is such a lovely little gift shop! At first I thought it was going to be like a generic "Daiso" (Which I'd still LOVE to have in Calgary!) but the quality of items far exceed typical items carried by chains like Daiso. The owner was super nice and really knew the products they carry in the shop. Love that you can get authentic Japanese goods here, and products made by local Calgary artists as well! If you are a cat lover then you MUST visit this shop because they have an amazing variety of mugs, totes, tea towels, dishes.of course they have other non-cat items too but as a cat lover, I could've spent hours in here going through everything!

I placed an order online and they attempted to deliver the next day (I wasn’t home at the time but they delivered it the day after). They even left a cute little note on the bottom of the order sheet! The quality of all of the products that I've purchased from this store has been amazing.
