Really big let down. This place is really not the place for Indian food. Went for the buffet & everything was luke warm & flavourless. The butter chicken tasted like ketchup with cream. There are PLENTY of better restaurants that will hit the spot in Edmonton. Their naan is decent if I had to say so, but the other dishes here are not worth spending money on. The staff are very friendly & nice but I sadly won't be returning here since my tastebuds know better.
I had a really good experience here and I especially liked (Hari) the man who was the best worker I’ve seen. He had a really big heart because he gave me dessert on my way out after my meal for free.
They have promotion for $10 but bill for I received $26. I was ask why and he doesn’t have any answer, makes some story for me. Not recommended anyone. Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyed celebrating my granddaughters birthday at New Asian Village. They treated her like royalty! They did not have her favorite dish (palak paneer) in the buffet, so they made a fresh order for her, and it came accompanied by an appetizer platter. The food, mango lassi's, Chai tea were all very good. The customer service was outstanding! They even had a piece of pink cake with a sparkler and sang happy birthday! We will definitely be returning!
I mean lovely people, but the buffet was awful. No decent food and the food sadly wasn’t warm and then we were charged $80 for two people. Sadly won’t be back. It used to be amazing 10 years ago: , (
We have had 2 birthday parties at this restaurant this year and both were absolutely amazing. The food was hot and fresh, the atmosphere was great. Monica took great care of us and made sure we had the best experience. Would definitely come back.
Very poor experience. Food was below average and service was even worse. We were there for a wedding and the menu items ordered were not all provided.
Random customers were at our buffet and were also eating the wedding cake. The service staff were informed and didn't do anything about it until it was too late.
Will not ever go to any of their restaurants and recommend you stay away. Many other good Indian restaurants to choose from in Edmonton.
Lunch yesterday, after long absence due to covid and life. Buffet down to 4 items, came with appys and naan. Appys good, butter chicken good, other three items cold. Tried to tell server but he wasn’t understanding. $26 each…will be awhile before we come again
Spoke with Monica and she very graciously apologized for our lunch experience and invited us to try the evening buffet. Very good, hot and plentiful. Thank you Monica and now can award 5 stars.
So we are on the way home from the thanksgiving buffet special & we both feel like we are going to puke. What food was there was good, had a nice variety of food, a bit overpriced but not bad for the freshness! The table across from us were talking very loudly with the employees, having a convo about hot flashes (totally not good for dinner), and also the employee wad having a personal phone call in the middle of the dinning room. What’s in the food that made us both want to throw up? !
The service was good and polite. However the food was totally not to the mark. Tandoori chicken - not cooked properly, fish pakora - tasted stale. Overall not impressed with my first visit to this place
This is my absolute favorite restaurant! Monica always greets us warmly and provides excellant service. Our meal was delivered to our table steaming hot within minutes. I regularly order Paneer Tika Masala, a delicious creamy tomato sauce with lots of chunky paneer, and double garlic naan (best naan I've ever had). CP Singh is a superb chef and delivers our meals with a bright smile. This is where we bring our family and friends to enjoy curry in a cozy authentic East Indian restaurant. I highly recommend New Asian Village.
Only good thing about this place is that there is a McDonald’s near by. The service and food there is far more superior than New Asian Village- Sherwood Park. Manager/Owner terrible business acumen. Terrible at communication and leading. Hosted a wedding reception there. Food was subpar, warm and unsanitary. Food not kept in proper temperature zone, leading some of our guests feeling sick. Service was appalling. Poor staffing for scheduled event (cups, replenishing of food, clearing of tables). Private exclusive buffet booked but made opened to the public without client acknowledgement. Menu served was a “bait and switch”, not what was promised. Served the bride and grooms wedding cake to the public. The owner/manager needs a a reality check. Stay away. President Choice Butter chicken taste way better then this dump. And the self serve gas station has better service.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Prawn Butter Masala. Food was delivered hot, and quick. I was happy to enjoy luscious prawns instead of wimpy shrimp that I've sometimes received elsewhere. The masala sauce was delicious. My go to dish is usually Chicken Tika Masala but felt like having sea food instead, and I was not disappointed. Monica provided great service and CP Singh is a great cook. For some reason I have stomach problems with the spices used in some other restaurants, but here I can enjoy the spicey food I like without the heartburn.
I and my wife were at asian village buffet on October 13th 2023 for wedding of our nice. The service was lousy and server for table have no courtesy, asked her for drink and she had no gingrale, sprite etc. Needed new glass the lady took the one from but didn't give me one. On top of this their customers started eating our wedding cake. I herd that wedding party invited 50 people but the charged the host for 70 people. So strange. Will never recommend this place.
The restaurant wasn’t prepared to provide the level of service or quality of food required for a wedding reception. Service required multiple requests for drinks, cutlery, cups and dirty plate removal. My dinner ended with the discovery of a hair in the naan. I would look elsewhere if you are hosting an event.
The Buffet was beyond disappointing. No masala's, no tandoori chicken. The lady incharge was annoying. Complained about how slow their summer was and people from the "city" I don't blame locals for not going there.
Was very disappointed on Sept 4 at 1pm going to their buffet. They had 1 soup, rice and 2 main dishes. The cost was $25. Very limited and feeling extremely ripped off. Not to mention $5 coffee with no refill
