Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza

Nick's Pizzeria in Calgary, Canada which is located near most hotels.
We ordered 2 Nick's pizzas to go.
The pizza had good dough, tasty sauce, and a lot of toppings.
The pizza was so filling that we didn’t finish it and left it for the next day, and even the next day the dough was soft and not stale.
We waited a long time, about 30 minutes.
But the pizza was very expensive.

Our waiter was awesome. It was my birthday and at the end of the meal the whole staff came out singing Happy Birthday with a free piece of cheesecake. If you want great food and great service, then I would recommend Nick's.

Popped over because my car service next door at Nissan was going to take up to 2 hours. Asked the waitress for a suggestion and food came out great.piping hot, so you know it wasn't sitting under a heat lamp. The fries are the kind I love. With some skin on them and crealy fresh cut.

I am really sad to write this review. I came to Nick's last year for my birthday dinner and enjoyed the meal very much.

Since there are so many wonderful options in Calgary, I always have a tough time choosing a place for my birthday dinner and make a short list of places. Based on last year, Nick's made the short list for this year and I ultimately chose it thanks to their garlic cheese toast and chocolate-peanut butter pie.

I looked forward to the meal for weeks, but was deeply disappointed tonight.

The cheese toast last year arrived piping hot and loaded with oodles of delicious melted cheese. So ridiculously delicious.

This year, the cheese toast arrived barely lukewarm and by the time I was done eating the first piece (got the 3-piece basket), the rest was cold. There was also way less cheese this year. Instead of being piled with hot, melty cheese like last year, there was just one thin slice of cheese (not even covering the full surface of the garlic toast) tossed on top and it wasn't fully melted. Very, very different from last year.

I ate them anyway as I had not eaten all day previous to arriving at my birthday dinner and was very hungry. And to be clear. The cheese toast was not gross, I was just disappointed at the very different quality between last year and this year.

For my main course I ordered the Quattro Formaggio pizza. That was a new one for me. I'd never had Nick's Pizza before. The pizza was OK. Based on the photos of Nick;'s pizza that I'd seen prior to visiting tonight, I'd been expecting something mind-blowingly delicious, but I was underwhelmed.
When I ate my first slice. Again, it was fine, but I was expecting more given that it was Greek style. I was surprised as well at the price ($37). It seemed high for what was essentially just a plain cheese pizza.
What was most disappointing however was the dessert. I'd let the rest go because what I had been most eagerly awaiting was the chocolate-peanut butter pie. This was what had made me choose Nick's in the first place. Because I'd had it last year on my birthday and swooned over how delicious it was.
When the server brought it, it was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. Lovely.
But when I bit into it, I was crushed. It tasted off somehow. My mom had a taste and agreed. She had also tasted it last year and loved it just as much as I did. But her face actually crumpled when she took her taste tonight. It took a few minutes for me to figure out just what was wrong, but eventually I realized. It tasted very freezer-burnt. It was very waxy and had a strange texture on the outside and it tasted sweet in all the wrong ways.

At first we could not taste the peanut butter at all. We tried digging into the very middle of the slice and when we did so, we could sort of vaguely taste the peanut butter, but it was still really, really subtle compared to last year.

The server had come by to check on us at a point where we had hardly eaten any of the dessert and I told her it wasn't very good and that it tasted freezer-burnt and waxy and I'd expected that she might offer to replace it or take it off the bill at least, but she just kind of shrugged it off and said that she'd tell the kitchen.
No solution or apology offered at all.
We tried to eat more of the pie, but in the end we left most of it. It just wasn't good. Extremely disappointing as the pie was the main reason I choose Nick's over all the other places on my short list.
I told my mom I wanted to go and speak to someone (again) about the dessert and also about the cheese toast, but my mom is deeply uncomfortable with confrontation and asked me not to say anything. She just paid the massive bill for five of us anyway.

I made Nick's my choice for tonight's birthday dinner based on last year's delicious meal, but after tonight, I can't say I would pick Nick's at any time, let alone for another birthday dinner.
I love supporting local, family-owned businesses, but was disappointed with the decline in quality.

First time there. Food was ok. Good portion. Good place to go with friends. Close to the stadium. A bit on the expensive side though.

Haven't been to Nicks for many years, but I'm not disappointed with todays visit.

Now that we're living in the NW, we decided to (finally!) check out Nick's. Had a really, really great steak dinner including baked potato wrapped in foil with butter, sour cream, bacon bits and green onion.and soft buttery garlic Texas toast. They really know how to cook at steak here! A cool, super comfortable atmosphere with lots of friendly service. Plus I appreciate that Nick's supports community so much, including a couple of causes my husband and I care a lot about! Will be back soon to check out the pizza!

This is a different sort of review. I would recommend this place. However, Our night started horribly. A hostess came and never asked where we wanted to be seated and proceeded to seat us (my parents, husband, and me) as far at the back of the lounge as possible. We thought the dining room must be closing. This table had 2 of us pinned against a booth and the men pinned against the table being bumped and shoved every time someone wanted to go to the bathroom or out the door 5 steps away. There were other seats available so we asked to be moved. Then a bunch of football fans came in shouting and yelling. Good for them, some days it might be me, but not for a late dinner with my parents. We couldn't hear a word anyone was saying. This is where things got much better and kudos to the rest of the staff from here. We asked for the bill. 4 coffees. The server asked why as she set the payment terminal down. When we told her, she offered us a seat in the dining room! We gladly took it but were shocked it was open and had to sit in this lounge that was set to be way over capacity. We had to shimmy between tables and chairs to get out. The dining room was very nice, warm and quiet, the food was amazing and the wine was good. I would say a bit overpriced but those are the times. Go! Enjoy! But make sure to get the side you would prefer.

Love this classic. The pizza bread is a party in my mouth… for sure coming back. The comfortable vibe, authentic sauce and pizza dough you know is made from scratch. So good.

Slow service but delicious and well worth the wait. If you have someplace to be, don’t expect it to be quick on a Saturday night.

Saturday Oct 21 for supper. Very busy, but even so, we waited over an hour for our meal. Calamari was soggy and not very good. My beef dip arrived with a scrunched up paper towel in it. Chef came out and apologized.brought me a new one. It was most likely the same one because I was very sick and throwing up that night with food poisoning. I hadn't eaten anywhere else after that, nor were we drinking or doing anything else that might account for being violently ill. It was a very poor experience for top dollar costs.

We did mention the calimari to the server early on.

Always a great meal! Food comes out hot and tasty. Stopped in for a late evening pizza, dry ribs, and cold beer. The Diavolo pizza was outstanding.

No place compares to Nick's. This place is incredible and the food is amazing. It's a great family environment and a great place to get amazing food!

Absolutely blown away at this place! The food was incredible and fast, the service was wonderful and the best part was the restaurant was so clean. This place is an absolute must eat at!

I was impressed with the service we received from everyone at Nick's - especially our server, Eric. I don't think I have ever had someone as courteous, thoughtful, and engaged as Eric was. Great to see all the families out enjoying the evening, and Nick's staff definitely helped with this. My only complaint was the amount of bbq sauce in my Philly, the regulars may enjoy it, but I found it obnoxious. Still, I would definitely go back and recommend to someone.

If you enjoy a vintage, 70's & 80's style steakhouse, you'll love Nick's. Brought back many childhood memories of dinner with my family when I was growing up. Meal was excellent and the prices were fair for a steak these days.

Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza provided the food for our rehearsal dinner and it was amazing. We communicated with Ben Petros early in the week and on the day of our event. He was polite and professional throughout process and ensured we were taken of. He provided advice on our order to ensure that we had the appropriate amount of food for our event. The food was prompt and fresh when picked up and our guests loved every bite.

Thanks again for everything, we will be eating Nick's in the near future.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It was so good we did lunch and dinner in the same day here! The food was nice and tasty and sizeable for a portion. The salmon, pizzas, veal (which had to be the best I've ever had), salads - you could tell they were all freshly made and out of this world. The garlic toast is amazing as well and you'd think, it's just garlic toast but noooo - it is very good! Our waitresses were so dang friendly and thoughtful. It was truly one of the best experiences - food and service-wise - that we have enjoyed in quite some time. Thanks for such a complete experience!

After passing Nick's for many years, we decided to stop in. My wife enjoyed he steak sandwich, and I had the veal parmesan. My wife commented that the steak was done to med rare, and the baked potato was great. With the veal parmesan, I found the veal patty to be on the small side and underwhelming for taste. It appeared to be a performed cutlet from a box. Overall, though the consensus was that the meal was tasty and the portions we large enough.

Terrible experience, I ordered through Uber eats as they say to do on their website. Food arrived cold, Uber eats refused to take responsibility and when I called the manager told me there's nothing they can do, then giggled when I explained my food was ice cold. I normally enjoy the food here, but this experience was terrible and customer service was even worse.
