NIWE Academy

My time at NIWE was really problematic. First of all I booked a tour, and it was not a tour, I went and it was a meeting with the admissions lady. I wanted to take their lash program or advanced nails but this lady convinced me to join the professional esthetics program because I would learn “everything” I wanted to. I had to register to this school before I even got the tour. I was very excited and hopeful for success in this course, I was expecting to have an amazing experience, especially for the amount of money tuition is. The first problem I had was that they were never orginized with dates. I thought the program started on sept 8th but then I found out it didn’t actually start until September 18th, which actually was the orientation day and the real day the program started was October 3rd (a whole month past what they told me and other people). When the program started I quickly realized how much of a scam this program was, they lied to me and other people about all of the things we would be learning, some girls even dropped out because they lied about advanced nails and more. Included in the tuition was a $1700 kit to complete the course, I’m pretty sure most of the money went toward the NIWE themed bag because they basically handed us a bag with some lotions and a couple metal tools. The products in the bag always leaked and were not good quality, multiple people in the class had this problem and non of the staff would help. The school wouldn’t even replace any of it if it leaked. My products also got stolen a couple times. They told us we would get nail polish and we never did. Overall this kit was not worth the amount of money students had to pay and didn’t even contain things needed for the whole course.
When you enroll to this program they don’t inform you that you learn on one day of the week and you complete quotas on the next day. It was only 2 days of hands on experience a week for 3 months. Which was way too fast in my opinion. Ontop of the expensive tuition, my friends and family had to pay so much money for me to practice services on them, I barley knew what I was doing and I felt as though It was unfair for them to have to pay so I payed out of my own pocket. All this really discouraged me to even show up to the course sometimes and I missed quite a few classes because of how unprofessional, unorganized, and scamming this was. I just graduated highschool and was looking for something to do with my life, I spent my entire college fund on this program and didn’t come out of it with a certificate for anything. I know it’s partially my fault for not being there all the time but this school really didn’t make students feel welcome, and it makes students unmotivated. Not to mention the lack of communication between teachers and students, they never communicated to me about anything, my emails were always left unanswered and it made it very hard. The only good experience I had here was with one mentor Liz she was very nice and tried helping to the best of her ability. Someone in my class dropped out because they couldn’t find clients and the day after they changed the rules so that you could use fellow students. Honestly sad that they waited until after people dropped out because those people probably put a lot of time, money and effort into the program. Basically I’ve come out of this program with no certifications, very unmotivated and honestly depressed. I wouldn’t recommend joining if you are looking to only get a couple certifications. Not worth 10000 dollars. I know other people that had the same experience here.

It was an honor for me to be with The kindest and well experienced instructor (Liz) in Permanent make-up department, she is so amazing and patient and her teaching method is very profesional.i just loved and enjoyed the time being her student, i am really thankful for her efforts

I took the permanent make class with Liz, she has been the best mentor for a course I have taken. She is very knowledgeable and shares her past experiences with us to help us to succeed. She was welcoming every class we had and helped us when taking models/clients. I can’t wait to continue to learn from her and have her as mentor moving forward!

Niwe academy is my best choice as school learning. Im studying professional esthetic. I enjoy the course.

I was invited for a tour of the academy. When I arrived the woman who was supposed to receive me arrived 15 minutes late because she was getting a tattoo. This is so disrespectful. When she received me in her office instead of giving me a tour of the academy as initially planned, she handed me a contract to register me. I got up and left. Run away from this academy.

Love my teacher Jesa! Jesa is the best and I’m so glad she was my instructor for the Esthetics course. Course was great, was able to learn lots from Jesa. I also love the new location downtown, super new.

The pmu course taught by Liz is the absolute best brow course you could take in Calgary! I've learnt techniques about permanent makeup, ESPECIALLY BROWS that have completely opened my eyes to what standard I must offer as a beauty service provider and also expect as a beauty service consumer from pmu! With dedication, and practice you will leave Liz's course ready to offer the highest standard of work and QUALITY that you can truly be proud of.

Went here for my medical esthetics diploma. Tuition is way too expensive for the length of the program. I am mostly disappointed with how I was repeatedly promised a job after graduation and how “easy” it would be to get hired as a new grad. I graduated in 2020 and feel like my cohort was abandoned.

Thanks a lot for the amazing service at the NIWE academy. It’s been so much pleasure to have an amazing nails from Reena and having an amazing customer service from Gurpret. I would recommend anyone to going there to have your service!

Lis is very good she knows her standards and goes full out on teaching! She is a good mentor that i look up to.

I enrolled back in September for the hairstyling class and have Len (and kind of Terri) as mentors. It has been an amazing experience. Len and Terri have extensive experience and love what they do both as Stylists and Teachers. They make the class an incredibly welcoming environment and do a wonderful job of helping us learn what we need to know. 10/10 for attitude, knowledge, and overall experience in class.

Shailini Lal at NIWE Acadamy was super helpful and so easy and fun to talk to! Everyone was so nice and welcoming!

Niwe academy has become a second home for me and I’m devastated that the course is ending soon. Thanks to the instructor Len for sharing his great experiences with us and keeping the class alive, fun and exciting! And shout out to my bestie Terri one of the most amazing barber ️

I just completed the PMU course and my mentor Liz is absolutely wonderful. She is so helpful and knowledgeable, I’m very glad I chose NIWE Academy to take this course.

I am in group C weekend classes. Len is our mentor he had great sense of humor and he is very helpful, gives us an excellent tips in hairstyling. I honestly have seen him do two persons duties. Also Terry had provided wonderful assistant to our classes too. Lastly what I love about those two mentors, they have same in common is that they are very humble and they actually take the time to show us how to fix our mistakes. We as students felt like co-worker then being teachers and students.

Went on a tour for the program, met all the wonderful instructors and reception, very friendly people, great atmosphere and environment for learning

What an excellent experience I’ve had at this school! I am taking the hairstyling course and nearing the end of my program. My instructors Alicia, Len and Janice have been nothing short of incredible. They truly do care for your success and I find their different teaching styles compliment each other as a team, there’s always more than one way to learn something between the 3 of them!

Grateful to have found this team and Shalini who enrolled me was so patient and accommodating to my situation, and helped me figure out my scheduling so that I can attend the course that I really wanted to this year.
I’d highly recommend the school to anyone and I imagine there would be even more positive improvement every year for the school as a whole, as they are always open to feedback too. That says a lot!

If you're thinking about taking esthetics or any program that NIWE has to offer, I would absolutely recommend Join NIWE because. NIWE team not only nurtures its students with knowledge and confidence about the skill or program they are into but also help and support them after they graduate and start working in real world. I am saying this with my own experience.

I enjoy every moment here, our mentors (Rupinder & Paige) are incredible, they go above and beyond for their students and colleagues.

The best part of NIWE team members' is that they do not work on their individual Goals.they have only one Goal to make their students confident!

I am currently in the final phase of the hair program at Niwe Academy, and wanted to say what an amazing program it has been! The main highlight of the course has been our instructor Len. Len is such a positive person to learn from, with an extreme understanding and passion toward hair, going beyond the basic hair training skills, making it so exciting and easy to learn! With his mentorship, along with the amazing assistance from the barbering instructor, Terri, I feel like I have had such a great experience here at Niwe, and am so excited to take my skills further into a career as a hairstylist!
Ps. Ask for Len or Terri as your instructor in the hair programs!

I went for a tour at the NIWE academy yesterday with Shailini. She was so welcoming and just overall amazing. No questions went unanswered and she made me feel even more excited to start the Clinical Aesthetics program in may!

Best experience I had. Two hairstylist teachers name Len and terry are probably the best teacher I’ve ran into. They don’t treat you like a student but a friend that you’ve known for years. 10/10 recommend the barbering/hairstylist course to newcomers.
