I’ve been coming here for 15 years the only place I trust with my dog the vet truly cares about your pet and it shows

Only been here a few times but never going back. Shoulda read the reviews. Seems like the 5-star ones are from a long time ago. Recent ones are mostly dissatisfied patrons. I have a heavy dog and back problems and I came in for my dog’s vaccine. Sandhu asks me to bring my dog up the table. I ask if we can do it on the floor. He then says if you don’t bring him up the table I won’t do the exam then, just the vaccine. Who wouldn’t oblige? Of course I want my dog to be examined. Took him less than 10 seconds to perform his “exam”. I’m not even exaggerating, if anything I’m probably overestimating. Put his stethoscope in 2 spots and a single feel check of something and that was it. Nothing he couldn’t have done with the dog on the floor. He then hurried out of the room. No questions no nothing, it was very impersonal. The waiting took longer than the actual work performed. The one review was right, spend a little more and go somewhere else.

Very bad professionalism. They don’t have clear communication with the owners on their pets’ treatment plan. They refused to give a prescription without a prescription fee despite being there physically for an appointment just for not using their over priced pharmacy. When threatened with calling the Vet College on professionalism… they caved in. Never again.

Thank you again! The team has always been accommodating to my schedule and has never tried to sell me anything unnecessary. The vet is honest and upfront about the best course of treatment for my pets, and the front staff are kind and comforting to both me and my animals. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the care my pets receive at this clinic.

Probably the worst vet ever. I brought my cat in yesterday for a checkup and to get a skin tag checked out, I knew nothing about this vet as my mom used to take them here, so I was open minded about it.the vet came in after about 10 minutes, asked me what the problem was, I asked him to do a check up and mentioned the skin tag, he squeezed my cat, told me it was a skin tag and then left. I waited a couple minutes thinking he would come back to do the checkup, but he did not, and it cost me over 50 dollars for that. I left, and called an hour later asking why it cost so much and why my cat didn't get a check up, and the receptionist was very rude, and hung up.very disappointed in the service I received.update!
my sister and I called back a couple days later as I didn't hear back from the receptionist I had talked too. He picked up, but when we explained why we were calling, he wouldn't let my sister or me talk, kept cutting us off and was extremely rude after we had said we were disappointed in the care our animal had received.he then hung up after, and we still have heard a thing about why my cat didn't receive the proper care.my advice STEER CLEAR from this vet clinic. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Please don't take your pet here. The vet doesn't care about your pet. There's a reason there's so many one star reviews.

Took my dog here because something was wrong with his eye and the vet didn't do any test or barely looked at him & told us it was either a scratch or infection and gave us antibiotics. My dog wasn't getting better after a week so we took him back & just gave us other antibiotics but didn't do any test. Took him to different vet and found out my dog has serious eye condition that will need either surgery or to put him down after doing multiple test on my dog, it wasn't a scratch or an infection. New vet said that if it was caught earlier that we could have saved his vision.

The price may be cheaper here but it's not worth losing your pet. The price of one good vet visit at better place will equal the multiple vet visits here.

Brought my 15 yr old doh Here to be put down she was suffering and not in good shape with her hips. Staff cared more about My bill being paid than the care and quality of my beloved pet. After putting her down, asked if I wanted her hair.assumed it would come with the paw print instead she started shaving my dog right their as my dog passed.
No compassion or comfort. I paid ALOT of money.and additional for a paw print.another show in lack of care and quality in their work when a single clay print was done.disgusting taste in human compassion towards pets and their owners. This place wants your money and nothing else. Very unprofessional and lacked the basics in customer care! Beyond passed and disappointmented in this vet!

The guy at the front was super rude Named Ashwiq. Clinics should not hire people who do not even have the manners to talk to the people calling. Such people harm and ruin the image of the clinic completely. I will never take my pet to this clinic and will advise all my friends to blacklist them.

Don't take ur Fur babies to this Vet! He's a money grabber and scared to even touch ur dog.and wants to charge $40 to examine him without touching the dog! I will be reporting this place to the authorities.

They wouldn't sell me dewormer without a check up. Only bonus was they got me in right away, but when talking with the doctor, he pretty much rubbed her tummy, as if saying good girl and left, there was no check up.only a bill for one and some dewormer

If I could give no stars I would. Save your money and take your pet elsewhere. We brought our pup in with concerns and this guy told us he was fine…. A week later our dog is lot sicker and now having a hospital stay. He seemed to be scared of dogs and was quick to take our money without doing any sort of tests. This guy should have his license looked at. Not a real vet in my opinion

Terrible vet, told my son to lift an 80 pound German Shepard and what if it was a senior? If I was here alone I would not have been able to handle it. But after he was on the table the vet was terrified that my dog may bite, even though he is one of the friendliest dogs I’ve seen in my life. Then told my son he wasn’t holding my dogs face properly and was blaming him. This place may be less costly to go to but definitely the worst.

The prices may be slightly lower then other clinics, but this place will have you returning multiple times for the same issue and charge you a "check-up" fee each time. I wouldn't mind if it was a thorough check-up, but this a zero effort check-up with no follow up or comparison to last visit.

I had experienced complete negligence during a checkup was when I took my dog in as he was exhibiting signs of cataracts. I was told by the vet that my dog was too young to be experiencing them but I was not satisfied with this answer as my family and I could see a cloudy build up in his eyes. I took him to a different vet and he was in-fact diagnosed with cataracts and was already 80% blind as a result of the build up. I was beside myself when the new vet shared this with me. I just couldn't believe that the NE animal clinic didn't take me seriously.

To top it all off the front staff is arrogant, argumentative, and no help with questions. Ive asked for a follow up on why my dog was given a dose of antibiotics while he was only supposed to get a monthly allergy shot and still no word back.

This is the first vet I've come across that purposely points out ways for me to save money while still giving my pets quality care. I've recently put my dear old kitty down and the amount of compassion through the entire process was amazing.
Dr. Sandhu is very straight forward and caring. My dogs are in good care with him. Thank you!

Should have told me to go straight to an emergency vet with my parvo puppy. Instead they charged for a (non) exam amd parvo test then ran me out of the clinic, (I offered to stay in the car for the test) they refused then to treat my dog with a anti nausea or anything.
My puppy ultimately passed away.
Only emergency 24hr clinics treat parvo don't waste your money here

This clinic is horrible, they don’t check your dog properly. You pay for a visual 2 minute check.the Secretary is a huge pain in the a** and very quick to suggest going to a different vet instead of answering normal questions. She’s probably the main reason I will no longer be taking my pets here& I don’t recommend going here if you care about your pets. Not to mention it’s also a really unprofessional and unhygienic environment.

This place is a scam. Don't take your animals here. I took my cat in after I came home from school and found her under my chair in my yard injured and unable to walk. I have no issues with the receptionist, however the "vet" that works there is a joke. He walked in, did not introduce himself and wouldn't even touch my cat to exam her which he expected us to do it for him. He told us she had a fracture, gave her 2 shots and tried to send me home with her. I insisted on at least an x-ray to confirm if she had a fracture. They took her for an x-ray, and when we went back to get her and results, they told us it was a puncture wound. The receptionist took us to the back where the doctor was to review the x-ray, he told us there was "white stuff" in her leg and he didn't know what it was. They gave me a bunch of medication, charged me close to $600 (they charge extra if you use credit card), all for absolutely nothing. They never told me what was wrong with my cat, and now I have to take her to a vet that actually knows what they're doing and pay more money because she isn't getting better. These people are crooks and they need to be shut down.

If i could give 0 starts i would.they charged me $80 for some anti nausea medication and the doctor to spend 1 minute is the office and ask if we wanted Xrays.he never told us what could be wrong or even why Xrays would be needed or what we could do to stop our kitten from getting sick.we went to a petshop after to see if they had any advice or foods that might calm her stomach or get her to eat and we got more help and ideas on what could be causing her vomiting there then at this vet

I've been bringing my dog here awhile but ill be looking for a new vet. I waited 4 months for her dental appointment for it to cancelled the day before and told that they aren't going to book us in for an alternative date. I brought her in today as she's been having major issues with her hind leg and was told it's not important enough to do anything yet, yet she limps and is obviously very uncomfortable for months now.

The prices are good but the care is questionable.

Doctor was nice on the phone but the reception had bad manners, was rude to an old couple who clearly had hearing issues. I only picked up meds here but would not bring my pets here due to service alone.

I've taken all of my pets here, choosing this clinic over other perceived better clinics, but I will tell you that my experiences here have been superior to those of other clinics.

Dr. Sandhu is smart, professional and very caring! He saved two of my cats from dying in emergency situations and I'll always be grateful! They are the most affordable vet in the city and the cheapest for dental procedures as well.

I read through some of the negative reviews and will say this, the entire office has been renovated and is always clean. If you think you are smarter than a vet don't come here, you are coming for expertise and he will not tolerate you talking down to him, or like you somehow know better as he is incredibly well educated.

Also, don't expect him to just believe your dog is well trained and won't bite him, if he's never met your dog before it's 100% acceptable that the Dr. Do what he needs to do to feel protected; these people clearly have never been in his position and attacked by a dog that's just trying to be helped.that man has more experience than them trying to explain that their dog is a good dog, get a life and see it from his pov.

I brought my cat here and they broke one of his teeth taking a blood sample. Will never go back here.

Best clinic the vet is so compassionate and everyone is always polite and professional highly recommend!

I had to put my cat down today and the vet assistant working today was so sympathetic and professional. Everything was from making the Appt til the goodbye was amazing. We will be switching to this clinic for future services with our pets. Thanks so much.

I brought my dog here on a whim; needing a vet clinic as soon as possible.
I was positive my dog had a bad ear infection and he was becoming irritated by it.
The clinic took me in pretty quickly, and the receptionist was nice and professional (she’s the only thing saving it from a 1 star review).
The rooms were hot and stuffy, doesn’t seem like there’s any AC in them. There was dirt and blood on the walls, not really cleaned at all.
When the vet (Dr. Sandhu) came in I voiced my concerns but I also informed him that my dog is irritated and on top of that doesn’t care for masks on people; as he growls at it. So I said he could remove it if it was possible but that my dog would just be a bit to handle.
The vet wouldn’t even touch my dog, he backed away from him when my dog was trying to sniff him, he told me to hold my dog and flip his ears to show the infection. He came back with something to look into the dogs ear and I advised that unless he muzzles my dog, that he won’t be able to insert it as the ear is inflamed, red, and very irritated.
He backed away again, and said “I’ll just give you antibiotics. ” (Without even doing a proper checkup or look at the ear)
I paid for antibiotics and a checkup and the vet did absolutely nothing.
How can you be a vet if you’re afraid to touch your pet patient. I’m really unimpressed.

It is a very great place to take your dog for vaccination, guidance, and supporting. Our pupppy had her second dose there, and well hace her third the next week. Great customer service a little serious, but friendly though!

Good service but very dirty clinic.they could AR least clean blood off the walls.kind of uneasy being in there but was only a minor injury so stayed but will go elsewhere in the future.

The receptionists are super kind and helpful, and the doctor is super knowledgeable. Prompt service, and my pet was treated with the utmost care.

This vet was super inpatient and just seemed to be having a bad day ver second he entered the room. Buddha (our dog) took literally 1 minute to sit down only due to him being at the vet, lets be honest how many of us like being at the doctor, anyways he pretty much stormed out of the room and said until we yelled at him to give our dog his medicine. You are supposed to have some kind Bedside mannerAnimal are not your professional doctorAnd should exercise some patience especially if you know that your patients are uncomfortable. He didnt even examine him. He just said let's just try some antibiotics if that doesn't work then bring them back. Why would I bring him back if you weren't patient enough to actually examine him the first time. I looked at the ratings for this vet that's the reason why I brought him there and I was totally unimpressed with how this man conducted himself, and will not waste my time or money there again.

We reluctantly had to put down our Bouvier, the doctor and staff were extremely understanding and accomidating to our time of grief and the comfort and respect due to our dog Charlie in his last hour.

I have been going to this vet for almost 8 years now, if you are getting your dogs its yearly shots this vet will do but if you are worried about any conditions your pets may be developing THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! One of my dogs started to form some kind of eye infection and we took him here to get it checked out right away. Dr. Sandhu gave us eye drops to treat him and told us that they will refer us to the VCA and that I would receive a call from them, a bottle of the eye drops only lasts 4 days and after 3 weeks I still did not receive any calls. Starting to worry because my dogs eyes were getting worse and Dr. Sandhu denying me more drops, I called the VCA and they told me that they did not receive anything from this clinic and that I should call them and ask to do it again.so I called them and their excuse was that their fax machine was broken and they were not able to do so (For 3 weeks like complete BS). I recommended that I can drop it or if they can email it to me I can forward it, they said that they wouldn't be able to do anything. After another couple of weeks I finally received a call from the VCA and couldn't book a appointment any sooner then a month away and they said that I should continue giving the eye drops that the vet had initially given me. Hearing this enraged me further because I had gone back to this clinic multiple times and asked if they can give me more drops but they denied me almost every time. I first took my dog to get checked at the beginning of march and it is now almost June and altogether they gave me 4 bottles of eye drops that only had enough supply for 4 days. My dog is now very inactive, clumsy and you can tell his eyes are significantly worse. His appointment with the VCA is next week and I pray they are able to help him NO THANKS TO THE NORTH EAST ANIMAL CLINIC!

Best animal clinic out there, I've alway taken my furbabies here for shots for surgeries for everything. Amazing caring staff I'll never go anywhere else. Thanks for caring for my furbabies ️

Dr. Sandhu was great with Charley. It was worth the drive to the other end if the city. Hopefully once we get through a week of antibiotics they can get us into getting Charley's teeth cleaned and a couple of teeth out.

Staff are all wonderful Dr. Sandhu is a wonderful vet. He has been our vet for years and I have 3 big dogs that he has treated even one that has to be muzzled who is aggressive. I would highly recommend this clinic the price is reasonable and the staff are all great

This was the most unprofessional vet clinic I have ever been to. I came to get my Rottweiler's leg checked out since he had been limping. My puppy is 7 months and he was scared and nervous coming in. He let out a bark and the Doctor wouldn't even come close to him. He said that these dogs can attack at any time. I assured him he doesn't bite but he seemed nervous and scared. He then proceeded to give us a prescription without even touching his leg at all. I am in awe that my puppy had such a horrible experience. He came back limping more and even more nervous than when we brought him in. Very nice ladies at the front but doctor was too unprofessional. If you have big dogs maybe consider going to a proper vet who can take care of his clients properly. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have mixed feelings when it comes to this vet, i brought my pup here for a full check up and it went all great i ended up bringing her in a year later in December 2020 for a spay, when i went to bring her home the stitching had looked jaggaed and didnt look as if it was stitched properly, she has a minor indent that has been there from when i brought her home, was told it is a drainage spot. 2 weeks passed and it was healing up really well after 2ish weeks she ended up getting a small red spot at the bottom of her stitch where the small indent is, contacted the pet hospital sent them photos was told to give it a couple days and watch it, it did go away everything has seemed fine since. In this last week i have noticed debires being able to get caught in the indent as well as little lumps of mass starting along her incision sight. It has been small issues after another. Now i am not sure if this is due to the spay or just the insicion sight its self but she hant had this many issues since she had the spay.

I've been taking my dog here for YEARS. I've made several appointments as his leg is bothering him now after making 2 appointments I'm canceled on last minute. Very poor customer service no explanations and I will never tell anyone to go there!

Son of owner is extremely rude. Represents family business terribly. Unprofessional. I simply wanted my records and he was very rude. Promised to email. Never did. Called back, was very rude when i asked about my records. I simply wanted to submit to a private dog park. Instead i went in physically to get my records and switch vets. Over a simple transaction they sent a client away for good.

Vet rarely took time to actually speak to me or talk about the checkup or my pets health. Feels like they try to get in and out as fast as possible for money. Took maybe 1 minute to check my pet versus other vets take at least a few solid minutes to check health.

The prices are the best that I have found in Calgary. You may have to wait a little to see someone. Ladies in the front are nice.

Service can be ok but they are afraid of dogs, it seems. They also don't have the facilities to of other vets to do testing, so it costs a lot of money to go there and get tested for things. Here's some advice for northeast animal clinic. DON'T BECOME A VET IF YOU'RE AFRAID OF DOGS! SERIOUSLY!

I’ve had my dogs teeth cleaned twice here and I was extremely impressed both by the quality of care and the prices. My dog recently developed a heart murmur and they had the vet and the anesthesiologist check her over before the procedure. Very thorough and amazing service.

Overall a pretty weird experience. Understandably with the covid stuff going on there is the social distancing rule, in the end it didn't matter cause the doctor needed me to hold the dog for his shots. I seen him a whole 2 minutes while my dog got his shots. Straight to the job.shots, then left.

I did have some questions and concerns about my animal, thankfully the receptionist filled in for the doctor and answered them and was very helpful. Definitely a language barrier since it was hard to understand, that's fine but all I seen was a doctor who didn't acknowledge his paying customer. I wouldn't be surprised if he forgot who the dog and I were if we went back tomorrow.

Won't be using this clinic again, would not recommend for people who care for their animals health and if you are looking for any kind of consultation at all I wouldn't expect it here.

Be aware of all vets! Most are more interested in making a profit and will play off your attachment to your animal. Do not be afraid to voice your opinion and don't let them push you around. Be a voice for animals!

I brought my dog in for a tooth extraction. They told me up front what costs were. During the procedure, more teeth had to be extracted, but they told me the cost before going ahead and doing it. They were extremely nice about the info they gave me about how to take care of my hound after the procedure. Cost was also very affordable since I don't have pet insurance. Needless to say, my dog is healthy and as well as happy!

I have been taking my dog here for nine years now. I never had a problem. I want to give 4 and half stars for the health/medical service. But, if you want to get your dog's nails trimmed, I don't think this is the place to go (unless, if you are not too particular about it - as long as it's cut).

Never coming again. Went months ago, the Dr was aggressive, in your face, doesn't listen. And insisted on giving my puppy an emergency spay, when I told him several times she was already spayed. Def will never be back.

I took my 4 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie in because she had a lump on her neck (She has had no health issues prior).
Dr. Sandhu has NO COMPASSION; he didn't even take 2 minutes to listen to what I was saying to him. He took one look at her lump and said it's Cancer. I was trying to tell him that we had just recently got a new puppy and that I thought that it was from the puppy biting at her neck. Dr Sandhu was then leaving the room, and said need to do a biopsy, he came back and had a needle and said are you doing it or not. I was completed shocked to hear the word Cancer, shocking to hear that so carelessly. Dr. Sandhu could have at least said let’s do a biopsy to see what type of infection it is. Not only did he not even give me a chance to think about it, he told me if I didn't give him an answer right now he would throw the needle out. I was also told that they would have the results back Monday, I didn't hear from them until Wednesday morning. Turns out I was RIGHT, my baby had an infection from a bite wound (test results confirmed, which is what I told Dr. Sandhu). All I needed was for Dr. Sandhu to give me antibiotics to clear the infection. I DO NOT Recommend this place, throwing the word cancer around like it's nothing, actually take the time to listen to what clients are explaining to you, place is not clean and there is no certificates anywhere to be found, and most of all show you have Patience, Empathy, Communication Skills. The prices are cheap, but I don't believe they actually Care about you or you’re Pet.

So this is for the person who views their pet as their family. This is my first written review because the experience was so horrible. I have put animals down at clinics before and it was a better experience. I will never bring another animal there. The vet was so rough with my cat that he lashed out several times and Ive been to a different vets with him before and the comparison is night and day. The explaining whats wrong, what the vet needs me to do, and what the vet is doing (bedside manner) does not exist here. I did not feel heard on my concerns with my cat, unlike other places i have been too. The staff is nice but the feel of the place is “just to make money”, the cord for the machine was damaged so the receptionist took along time to have it in a position for it to stay on (they did say they had ordered a new one but it was in the mail, as a business owner if you notice that your equipment is starting to fail/be worn out would you not want it to be replaced before it becomes an issue for your customers?). I think this place should get a 0 out of 5, for a lot of different reasons.
