I was amazed at the outstanding outdoor skate ring. I was not expecting to see such a wonderful place. I didn't skate myself but have fun looking for the skater having fun. But even though I love dogs, I did not appreciate people walking dogs i a clear dog-free area.
Ideal place for family outing. Multiple playgrouds make it ideal for kids. This park has a lot of scenic places to take memorable photos. Also, there are barbecue ares that can be reserved by calling 311 in advance. This park also provides a big cycling track. Weekends can be crazy busy, but this park is an ideal place to hang out as it is in the middle of the city.
I was amazed to see the beautiful, charming, well maintained, and super-clean park at the Glenmore reservoir on Elbow river in Calgary.
Had I not visited, I would not have believed this is one of the largest, most popular, and best parks in Calgary which draws thousands of visitors, particularly, on weekends and holidays.
The lush green mowed lawns, innumerable old and new trees, the humongous reservoir, natural forest area, and multitude of people engaged in various activities create an electrifying, exalting, and soothing atmosphere.
The colossal park has lots of designated areas with fire pits and tables, view points, separate paved tracks for walking and cycling, children playgrounds - I saw two of them at different locations, washrooms, water fountains, tennis courts, uncountable magnificent views, benches to relax and enjoy the beautiful sceneries, and a great deal of parking lots - I came across parking lots marked A to R and one reserved for the canoe club members.
Although there are numerous parking lots - at least 20 between the two contiguous - north Glenmore park and Weasel head park, on a busy day, it is challenging to find a spot at your preferred location.
The parking area L, which is where the bigger and more equipped playground and the only cafeteria are located, usually gets full pretty soon.
At the northern end, there is a boating club - Calgary Canoe and rowing club - where you may get a rental canoe and even learn techniques of safe boating. A sizable pair of piers supports a docking area that may be used by numerous boating enthusiasts, simultaneously.
This is a must visit historical place if you visit or are in the beautiful city of Calgary. It, definitely, is a boon to Calgarians.
The place is beautiful. A great recreational option for the whole family. I found only one problem; there is only one formal washroom and it is closed from 6: 00pm. You can find some provisional toilets around the park but usually are not clean.
Less busy on weekday evenings (picnic dinner time) than on weekends. The path on weekends is terrifying as people do not move over when passing. We went 3 times this week. Had to choose a different table each time as the heat brought more folks out.
A nice park for the whole family. Have picnic tables that can be reserved with BBQ and Fire Pits. Bike and walking paths. Tennis court, playground and lots of trees. Highly recommended
I have a wonderful experience there are different parking areas marked from A to I (might be more) so you have a choice park your car as near kids playground or park near cycling route and more.over all spent great time with family.
Lovely location, it’s been years since I have visited and had forgotten what a lovely spot to visit. I enjoyed watching the sail boats zip past and all the families enjoying them selves on the trails and at picnics.
Beautiful park with picnic tables, forest trails, lakeside views and boat launches. Great place to go with family or friends. Plenty of parking and bike paths. Well maintained.
Great place to bring friends and family. There is so much space to explore. There are bike paths, walking paths, tennis courts, canoe club. Can spend an entire day walking àround the glenmore reservoir. The only challenge is parking.
Good park, it has a nice view, a tennis park, plenty of space to things, and just very enjoying, I really suggest going here if you are looking for a park to go to.
I was blessed to grow up in the community of lakeview. So I made glenmore park north my back yard along with my friends. Lots of good memories. I really miss this place now 40 years later, I wish I was a young again.
Such a nice place to roam around, exercise, tan, relax, and um relax. I greedily don't want to draw attention to this gem but I have to at least give a bit of a shout out.
