Very disappointed with this dealership, we live near Lethbridge and called up to arrange to purchase a used vehicle they had just taken in part exchange. When we called to arrange the purchase that day, we were told we would have to have valid insurance and a plate to drive the vehicle home as it was late on a Saturday. We arranged all of this prior to arriving at the dealership, we even called up in advance to let them know we were en route and were told the car would be warmed up ready and waiting to go for us. We arrived at the dealership just after 4pm and the car was not ready, it was a manual and not automatic as stated in their advertisement, they could not get it started, We managed to get it started, but then we were told there were issues with the car and they had to be fixed by them as they had ordered the parts so the car would have to be returned for the repairs, we told them we were happy to take the vehicle as is, but they declined. What a total waste of time for us! Thanks for giving us a 5 hr round trip for nothing!

I purchased a used/pre owned vehicle and all the staff were excellent especially my salesman "English" Matt. I could not find the car I was looking for at any other dealers but Northland had plenty of GTI on the lot ready to drive home. The staff were helpful and friendly however the dealer is part of the AutoCanada group which is an enormous North American publicly listed company. The upshot to this is they seem not too worried about your business.

The quote I received included a $648.00 item called 4 Year Guardian Protection Bundle. This is effectively insurance which will replace up to two keys, cover some paintless dent repair or seat tears.

I indicated I was not interested and was told it is NON-negotiable; if I wanted the car I would have to agree to this addition.
I get it, these plans are serious profit centres for them, but for them to insist on an add-on plan for which I have no need is something I simply cannot abide.

They are not the only VW dealer and so I'll vote with my dollars.

My name is George, and I would like to start with a little story, everything start with my wife's birthday and our anniversary 20 years together and I decided to have a little surprise for her after being for so many years together and working hard to keeps our family happy.
So I decide to buy a car for her, after I did my research and I choose
to buy a Volkswagen Tiguan and more so from one of the most reputable dealership in Calgary Northland Volkswagen.

We did a ton of research on vehicles before landing on the Atlas, and we love it! We had a bit of a bumpy start with a new, inexperienced sales person but Alanna quickly stepped in to remedy our concerns and get us what we wanted for our new car. We stuck to our guns regarding the warranty & financing options we wanted, and in the end we are very happy with our purchase from Northland Volkswagen!

I went to Northland Volkswagen this week and ended up trading in my vehicle for a brand new Atlas! I must say that one of the reasons for me to decide to do that in Northland VW instead of looking at other places was the excellent services received at that shop. I was greeted warmly by Brock Wells, one of the sales consultants, as soon as I walked in. He then gave me very detailed and professional introductions of the different cars available there and arranged for me to have a test drive. But due to some emergency I had to leave for a while. I was very impressed that Brock waited for me to come back and completed everything even he had to stay late at work. He helped me get the best possible deal which was beyond my expectations. Then when I went to pick up my new car yesterday, he walked me through its features and made the whole process very smooth and enjoyable. I really had a great experience there and would recommend anyone to go there if they want to get or change for a new vehicle. I am sure Brock and others will take very good care of you and help you find your dream one!

In my 20+ years of experience in customer service industry, in various managerial and supervisory roles, I have not encountered an individual with such dedication, commitment, care, attention and ease of execution when it comes to patron satisfaction and customer experience.

Alanna Toogood treated me like royalty, from the moment we met, through subsequent visits and enquiries, until the moment I drove my new VW home. She picked me up at home, drove me to the dealership, took care of my insurance, registration, license plate, and everything else. To say that she made the entire experience most pleasant and most enjoyable would be a gross understatement!

If you are in the market for a VW, you will not regret seeking her out to make it all happen in style!

We dealt with Jake and after numerous shady dealerships we were met by this lovely Aussie gentleman! He was knowledgeable, friendly and most of all took a sales approach that was focused not on getting you a vehicle that day but one that you would actually want. In December of 2020 I made arrangements to have a vehicle dropped off for an inspection as I wanted a Volkswagen Technician to complete a thorough review before I purchased the used vehicle. I proceeded to pay in advance using my visa and requested the previous owner to drop the vehicle off. Later in the day I called back to the dealership requesting a copy of the inspection and a receipt for services. The lady said that she would send it along. I never received either. The next day I called back asking to speak to a service consultant and he said it would be sent shortly. Another day had passed and still no inspection report. After a third call I spoke with a service manager who explained that they could not provide a copy of the inspection and that it was given to the owner of the vehicle and not to the person who paid for it. It was also noted that I was charged more than the quoted price and that someone from another department would call back to provide a credit on my visa. That call didn't happen. The reason for the review and a 2 star rating is the process (my first time experience with this dealership) in that the flow of information was poor from start to finish. The credit is minimal however in order to improve your business, feedback that can help improve customer experience should be given and acted upon.

****UPDATE**** March 11 2021

I received a phone call from the dealership today and there was a learning opportunity that allowed an understanding between both parties that will help the customer experience moving forward.

Brock was amazing while we were on our hunt for a new vehicle. He is very knowledge about Volkswagen and other makes of vehicles. He is very approachable and we never felt pressured at all. He took the time to get the right trim and colour of vehicle we were looking at so we could test drive the full experience.

Even though we decided on a different vehicle in the end, Brock gave us amazing service until the end. The Tiguan was in our final 2. If anyone is looking for a new Volkswagen, Brock is the man to see.

Top notch service and a very enjoyable shopping experience.

M fiancé and I were on our way from Calgary to Kelowna for Christmas when all of a sudden our VW Jetta started to chug and a ton of emergency lights came on. We had no idea what was going on as the car had never given us any trouble. Naturally we called the Northland dealership as it was the closest VW in the area. Because it was the holidays we thought we were going to have to write off the trip and were pretty bummed about it. Patricia at the service desk was AMAZING she assured us that she would try her best to figure something out before everyone went home for the holidays and even offering us some help with trying to figure out other options if we had to ditch the car.

When we got to the dealership there was a technician who came to help as he was just getting ready to leave for the holidays. We are so happy he did! Patricia and Curtis literally saved our Christmas. We are so thankful that they decided to help us out. Within an hour Curtis solved the issue and it was a simple fix! We have now switched everything over and are forever using this dealership now because of their kindness! I swear I have never been treated this well at any other VW dealership.

Can you say Christmas Miracle!

Instead of fixing the issue, they tried to blame me for my car misfiring saying I'm putting regular gas in the car instead of premium. This was a false assumption on their part and was clearly said as they did not want to look into the issue any further. Also they 'washed' my car without asking me and left dirt marks that look like scratches on the paint. This dealership clearly does not care about customer satisfaction.

We bought a new to us VW Golf privately and brought it in to Northland VW for service. It was our first experience there and we were so well taken care of. Patricia was assigned to our car and greeted us when we arrived. She took our concerns seriously and then kept tabs on our car through the day with the technicians. All our questions were answered and we received warm and friendly service when it was time to pick our car up. I'll be asking for Patricia again and we feel secure that our car will always be in excellent driving condition at Northland.

A tech left my lights on overnight which froze and broke my battery while doing some warranty work. They hooked me up with a nice loaner and replaced the battery at no cost to me. That didn't totally suck.

We purchased our car their about 1 1/2 years ago. And have had 3 services that went extremely well. We recently heard a thumping coming from the back end of the car so we brought it in. Setting up and appointment was very simple however they are busy and it required a 1 week wait. Dropping off the car was quick and painless dealt with shop manager he was professional and informed me of possible diagnostic charges up front which was appreciated. My issue with the shop came during the time they had the car. I found that they were very difficult to communicate with not providing clear information as to what was wrong with the car. They would promise to call me back during the day to give me an update and let me know if I could pick up my car that night. They failed to call me back on 3 different occasions. This was frustrating as it is my only vehicle and I needed to know if I could use my car that night or next morning to plan my life. The service was complete and was under the proposed amount. When I went to pick up the keys they had misplaced the keys. The lady looking for them was kind professional and apologized. After about 15 20 minutes they were able to find the keys. Think this was just an unusual experience as my past times were good. However has got me concerned that they might not be the shop for larger repairs and to only do services with them.

I brought my non VW in for a trim issue today (dec 4th). I had been to 4 other shops to get the issue looked at. 2 were not able to because of being busy/ short staffed, other 2 wanted over $65 to remove what was left of my fender liner from rubbing on the tire.the tect was able to bring it in very quickly and remove the piece for me.on top of that, they also did it as a no charge. I don't own a VW but if I did I would bring it here for service for sure

Bought a CPO Tiguan in Sep 2018. Was provided with inspection report and carfax showing all maintenance done. Within 4 weeks, car broke down. Engine knocking, EPC blinking, Engine lights ON. Service deptt tells me that car engine has carbon deposits and has major problems with ignition, fuel injection, 4motion system, and has never been serviced. Asked me to perform all pending servicing worth thousands. They made some temporary repairs to fix knocking and engine light. Within a few weeks, in Nov, same problem occurred again. Service deptt tells me they are separate from sales, so cannot do anything other than temporaryly fixing engine knocking and engine light. Have called General Manager and sales deptt at least 10 times, faxed, visited personally but not received a single response. Complained to VW Canada. Will escalate further if this is not resolved.

UPDATE after owner response: I have already called, visited personally and faxed details to contacts listed on this business. Let me know if I should use any other phone/email/fax/address.

I highly recommend Northland VW! They are positive, kind and welcoming throughout the purchasing process.

We arrived pretty disheartened after having an unfortunate experience with our Mercedes. Matt DaSilva walked right out and took care of us. We immediately knew he was the person we wanted to help us purchase our next vehicle. He is patient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. He even worked on his days off to get us into the vehicle we loved!

A big shout out to Manou as well, who was so positive and knowledgeable when showing us warranty options and filling out the paperwork.

Our walk through was done by Joe and he showed us everything we needed to know about our new vehicle.

Great experience and we will most definitely keep working with this dealership.

The sales experience 4 years ago was a joke. The salesman was rude and pushy, and smelled like a cigarette. The manager I called for help and to talk with about the salesman was perhaps worse. I avoided them for 4 years after buying the car anyway. It also turned out the windows were illegally tinted, which was classy on their part.

Now I call for support and get ignorant and unhelpful responses, hung up on when I ask for another person to help me, and generally could feel virtual eyeballs rolling while I made a simple request 4 times.

I would sooner ride a horse and carriage than deal with these people if it was my only means of acquiring a vehicle. Being bad at your job is one thing, but being bad a human is really hard to pull off. Nice job, Northland VW.

We purchased our 2016 Tiguan back in April of '16.
The service and professionalism we experienced at that time and ever since has been exemplary without question.
I can't say enough on how fantastic, kindhearted, and downright great decent people the staff at Northland Volkswagen are. And right from day one. From Ivan the Service Manager 1st Class gentleman to Shayla, Oliver, Patricia and many more whose names currently escape me, are all 1st class representatives of Northland Volkswagen.
When you find yourself looking for an excellent deal, or excellent service I'm certain you'll be pleased you went to Northland Volkswagen.
Excellent people, many whom I would categorize as friends.

They're great at making you feel good about yourself and helping you through a purchase. When it comes to the bigger picture involving the brand, servicing, and handling of defects under warranty, the dealership also plays a significant role, and the experience is less rosy. I've been to this dealership on 8 separate occasions over the course of over a year, and my vehicle, which is still in warranty has the same problem today as it did over a year ago. The engine stutters during starts and the doors will not close in the dead of winter. The efforts to fix the car under warranty have failed. Instead of finding a solution, they tried to sell me a new car. Now they're offering to extend the warranty for a short duration. What good does a warranty do when the problems are never fixed and I'm left with a defective product? A warranty should give me peace of mind that I won't have to worry about driving a car with problems, because those problems will be fixed! Look elsewhere for your next car, and make sure it's not a VW.

Let me add to this (19 November 2018) : Recently I was informed that I should remove this post because of all the goodwill work that has been performed for me. They suggested that all the times they tried to fix my car under warranty was goodwill on their part. So, that's what you get - if you bring a VW in for work under warranty, it's your burden and any work they do is considered goodwill, nevermind that you're spending your time and money to bring the in-warranty car in on many occasions. VW warranties have been useless to me when major problems arise.

I've definately had worse experiences at dealerships and the employees are usually friendly. I'm on warranty so I get services completed here. That has been fine. However I booked online for a seasonal tire swap almost 3 weeks in advance (they send emails about trying the online booking, so I did), showed up and they told me that I would have to wait all day. 8 hours to swap 2 tires? ! Ridiculous waste of my time. Why bother making an appointment? !
I left and called KalTire. They were super nice, got me in right away and I didn't have to wait more than 2 hours.

I'm a proud owner of 2018 Golf R. The sales process with Northland VW was great. My car was special ordered and the process was flawless. My car arrived at the dealership earlier than expected and the team had me set up and on my way in no time.
Since owning the car I have ordered parts through the parts department including splash guards, floor matts, trunk liner and winter rims and tires. All of the parts I ordered were either in stock at the dealership or ordered in within a day or two.
And now 6 months in a quick visit to the service department, my true test of any dealership. Northland VW exceeded my expectation. They treat my car like it's as important to them as it is to me. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a car but especially to anyone looking for reliable service.
