The snow is still on the ground. We're seeing the signs of spring coming our way. Great for running, walking, biking, and for walking your dog! There is a lot of sunshine today! Enjoy!
Beautiful park for a long walk, although there’s a short route too. Paved pathway. Great for bikers. Many ducks, birds, and lots of planes to see. Dog park next door. Also a driving range next door too.
Safe, secure and basically clean spot for offleash. Unfortunately the are still some people who don't pick up after thier dog. Even with this, I always enjoy this park.
Nice place, i stopped by because we were having Pizza then I went for a quiet walk, then I had to pee honestly, i marked my very first time mature in-nature pee and i took these photos, we are from nature, we will be back to it: 3 There is a WC but it is locked during winter
Saw a puddle with some bubbles along the pathway, but 3 kids came by, threw stone into it and destroyed the bubbles. Later on, the grass were on fire and the kids ran away before the fire truck arrived.
Spacious off-leash area with ample room for dogs to run and play. There are garbage bins at the entrance, sizeable parking and easy to find. Two gates to enter but neither is the airlock style so be aware you may be swarmed. About half the park is significantly down hill so be prepared to huff and puff if your dog likes to run off. Most people seem to congregate near the entrance but the lower area has a nice area with large rocks to wander. Deerfood and it's noise are nearby but unless that truly bothers you this park is worth a trip. No water supply so bring some for your pup on hot days.
This area has good parking spot to visit Nose Hills park. Generally people park their cars and travel to downtown but at their own risk. Not that crowded but you will see 70% spots filled on regular day. You can enter into Nosehill park and spend your day enjoying the walk, downtown views, trees etc. There are spots where you can do picnic too and dont forget to take insect repellents just in case.
We enjoy this venue to go for a walk, which is easily accessed. I believe that there are two parking lots, off of Beddington trail on the east end and off Harvest Hills Blvd on the west end. There are picnic tables on the east end at the entrance from the parking area. The paths are a combination of asphalt and gravel surfaces. The asphalt surfaced paths are wider than the gravel ones. The vegetation near winding Nose Creek is lush and there are elevation changes that you can take in or not. There are numerous benches to take a break, no shaded paths though. There are a number of bridges crossing Nose Creek making the walk more interesting as you pass through arid and moist terrain.
We love visiting this park riding our kick scooters, very safe, clean, and quiet. Enjoy the sound of nature, also the little river to get relaxed (no recommended for swimming) only sitting and staring at the view. Amazing!
Did a bike ride from Country Hills to Nose Creek Parkwayand it was awesome. Calgary has soooo many wonderful paths throughout the city. Best city ever!
Open green area west of Deerfoot trail.very open and windy which is nice in the summer but challenging in winter. On the other hand, summers cook clouds of insects in the grassy wetland. Bike trails are well maintained.
Fenced dog park but the city doesn't really care much about it. Muddy dust bowl and people just don't pick up enough after their dogs. Nice people though
Its natural beauty that lies in landscape is captivating not only to human beings but to animals as well. The beaver is hard at work in the creek and the bird of pray soarong above looking for their evenings catch alone should draw you in if not the natural prarie landscape and herbs and grasses. Enjoy!
Nice park for a walk or cycling. Pathway is relatively well maintained. In Winter season, it is plowed regularly. *The pathway (51.131837, -114.05508) going downhill from the West side rest area does not get plowed and it gets extremely icy there. *
If you stay on the pathway system, do stay on the right as cyclists might zip by quickly. *City of Calgary got rid of the 'bell' or 'horn' on bicycles bylaw according to bylaw officer I chatted with (June 2019) *. On a windy day, you won't hear cyclists approaching until the last second.
I would highly recommend putting your small dogs on leash because there are coyote sightings almost daily when we go there. We have had some close calls where they got up close.
Take a walk on the newly (-ish) paved pathway (paved in Oct/Nov 2016) going southbound from 96 Ave NE parallel to Deerfoot Tr. It is breezy and most enjoyable. Planes taking off on runway 29 fly over and trains are nice to see. We wave at the train conductors all the time and they horn back! The kiddos love it. You can also go off pathway (East). Deer, porcupine, and some shore birds can be seen from time to time. For the past 2-3 years there was at least one heron occasionally making appearance as well. It is brilliant to watch the large bird takes flight.
The non-official off-leash park is in the large field area which is between the pathway (along Beddington Tr) and 96 Ave NE. The official off-leash park is at the West Nose Creek side.
Large mostly barren mound in north Calgary. You can get some great views and watch for a while as coyotes run off with your dog. I really don't get why people bring their pets here, I guess it's cheaper than having them professionally put down. The mountain biking is decent cross-country type assuming you can avoid the people
Great park. Nice pathways, creek, fenced dog area, garbage and a seasonal washroom. Not enough ppl pick up their dog waste so it would be nice to see more city enforcement present to start making examples of ppl. I have never seen any, but park users were talking about coyotes and bobcat in the area. Small animals beware.
My kids and I enjoyed this walk, seeing the birds and checking out the flowers. We also got to see a mother coyote and her two pumps playing on the opposite ridge. The only thing that broke the illusion of being out in the middle of nowhere was the nearby traffic.
There are 2 parts to the park one is a fenced area for your dog to run off leash the second which is huge is the bike/walking paths.
The paths are paved and well maintained during all seasons.
If you decide to take a walk with your dog on the paths best to let him do his business in the off leash area so you may pick it up and deposit it in the trash as there are very few trash bins along the pathways.
If you happen to ummm let your dog run loose in this area caution for coyotes and other wild animals.
There also will be lots of bikes on the paths so take care with your dog and share the trails.
This is a very nice place to enjoy a summers walk so go out and enjoy
