OEB Breakfast Co.

The presentation was good service was good. Taste was average. But they are selling boiled eggs for poached eggs. Just terrible, don’t write poached if you sell boiled eggs.
Otherwise it was an average experience, nothing special, a little overpriced.
Would I recommend, not really.

Since covid, they have dropped their chicken and protein portions from four or five ounces down to 2 ounces

Very disappointing

I went to eat here today and the food was delicious and consistent as always but unfortunately I had to witness one of the chefs raising their voice and throwing out vulgar words towards one of the servers. Of course context is key, but in my opinion I don’t think it’s ever appropriate for such language to be used in front of customers and especially in front of kids. Besides this distasteful event, I still enjoyed my lunch.

Coffee was great. Service was excellent. This was probably the best breakfast I have had in a long time. I got the Notorious B. I. T.burger with waffle fries and my wife got the Double Trouble crostini with wedges. Food was fast, fresh and delicious. Will be back and will be recommending. The server asked for allergies, which I don't see often. Bravo all around.

Found this place from a top restaurants list of Calgary. This place lived up to its reputation. Had to try a breakfast poutine. Instead of gravy, it comes with hollandaise sauce. You can opt for half potatoes & half spinach. The meal was still plentiful and I had to finish my leftovers for lunch. My family really enjoyed their meals.definitely worth skipping out hotel's free breakfast for this place. Customer service was excellent and really added to the great experience. I will definitely visit OEB Breakfast Co during my next Calgary visit. We went around their opening hour on a Thursday, so finding a street parking spot was no issue. Highly recommend!

Searched for the best breakfast restaurant in Calgary on Google and this is the proof that Google doesn't (always) lie! This is absolutely worth the short walk from downtown! Choice in food and the quality of food is the best, staff is very helpful and friendly and the place has a very nice vibe. Highly recommended!

10/10 pleasant surprise when the guy recognized us from year ago! My mom loves this place and calls to Rooster place due to the sign (she visits from Mongolia and always such a nice place to bring her to!) Definitely recommend how amazing this place is

Amazing breakfast here! The service was excellent and the staff are super friendly. We had the Florentine Eggs Benny, the scrambled crepe and then shared the ‘Not so boring French brioche’ with berries. It was all delicious! The food came quickly and was super fresh. We are veggie and there was still so much to choose from! Would love to come back here. Definitely go if you are nearby!

For a restaurant with so many "Vegetarian" options, seems absurd for the side of potatoes to be cooked in animal fat. They used to have no problem cooking potatoes in vegetable oil to accomodate guests. However the new owners must not care about their customers as much. It's a shame.

Very nice restaurant, high quality atmosphere and food, the servers were very kind and clean cut. The food was amazing and was reasonably priced. Would be here all the time if I lived in the area!

1st time here and was not let down! Minor issue with food which the staff quickly resolved and apologized profusely. I had the Lobster shrimp crepe which was elegant and divine, wife had the waffles and Canadian bacon which was equally amazing! A must visit for any breakfast enthusiast!

My experiences at OEB have often left me in culinary delight. Their offering, particularly the beef ribs bowl, is nothing short of stellar. This restaurant has long been our family's breakfast sanctuary, with friends and family, both local and international, joining us time and time again.

However, our recent visits, especially in the post-COVID era, have cast a shadow over what was once impeccable service. On our latest outing, an otherwise joyous occasion with a visiting family member from Europe and our baby, was marred by confusion and miscommunication with the staff. A minor misstep in our ordering process led to a rather unexpected reprimand from our server. As patrons, we shouldn't be burdened with the logistics of whose responsibility it is to take or recall our order. More disturbingly, the revelation that servers are financially penalized for order mishaps is deeply concerning. Such practices are not only questionable ethically but also detract from the warm ambiance a diner expects.

The sense of being unwelcome, especially as parents, has grown. Subtle gestures, like "no stroller" signs, may seem trivial to some, but they resonate loudly with families like mine. Add to this the blunder of being handed someone else's bill, and you might understand why the glow of OEB's once stellar reputation has dimmed for us.

While the culinary experience remains top-notch, it is no longer a redeeming factor, especially given the abundance of alternatives. Service is an integral part of dining out, and when it falters, even the most delightful dishes can't mask the sour taste left behind. We may hesitate before returning, but I genuinely hope the management takes heed of not just our experience but possibly others who may share our sentiments.

I have been a big fan of OEB since the beginning! Their breakfasts are always very creative and delicious!

Wow, visiting from Toronto, this was an incredible experience! The decor is fabulous, the waiter was on-point, all the staff was super friendly. Food came quickly and was delicious. I'm picky and seriously can't find anything to critique.

Tried to get a spot at Blue Star Dinner but had no luck. Hopped over to OEB and was seated right away!

My friend and I shared the Huevos In’na Burrito and the Not So Boring Brioche French Toast. The texture of the Tortilla was off but the beans and and guacamole was. The French Toast complimented the savoury dish very well and was glad I could do halve-sies. I don’t think I could have eaten the whole plate of French toast by itself.

Fantastic food taste quality and speed.
Options are endless and customization was friendly. A must when visiting Calgary!
