Great buffet sushi restaurant in Calgary. Most dishes I tried were high quality and delicious. Some more desert options like Mochi and green tea based would be great.

Service is great. However, 1 ordered item was not brought out.

The restaurant is inviting and clean.

We had the all you can eat, it was delicious! You have to try the mango ice-cream
The service was extremely fast and the sushi was sooooo fresh!

Ordered through their website (skip the dishes link) for self pick up. Ready at start of estimated time window for pick up.

What value! What quality!

It was so tasty and fresh, my husband and I were impressed and it’s our new favourite. Even had enough food for lunch the next day.

Sushi fell apart. I ordered 35 pc takeout tray and couldn't get sushi from tray to plate without a spoon. It was made reverse style with rice on the outside of rolls. Very little seafood. Mostly vegetables and avocado. Very disappointing. 6 pcs of nigiri was good as well as the seaweed salad was good.

For expensive deluxe price $40/per dinner price lunch of whole parties of 4 total $170 bill I would expect to have half the dinner deluxe items there and services but I guess not. They’re not even busy for Sunday lunch. I would not come here for deluxe sushi if that is what you’re looking for better off kinjo or honji others. Horrible services and forget half the food that are sushi items but kept giving us cheap items to fill us up.

The variety of food is very acceptable and the quality is good. The atmosphere was a bit desolate, possibly because I arrived at 2pm and they closed at 3pm. The service was very friendly but I felt that the person was tired.

I should have read the reviews here before choosing this restaurant for dining the deluxe all you can eat. Their servers are not friendly and well-trained, they took our dishes and chopstick away many times and we have to ask for new set all the times. They did not deliver the dished we ordered ar the end without explanation. When its 20 minutes before closing, we were eating desserts, they used bleach so strong that my friends cough and we cant finish our desserts at all. The manager did not come out to say sorry and ask the staff to stop bleaching and cleaning up the restaurant while we are still eating our desserts. Finally, we still give them 15% tip - I know that many cases, the manager have to come out and say sorry and give us discount for ruin our last dishes with chemicals, but they did nothing. I still give them tip and pay full bill but this is the first and last time we will be here.

Our family was there yesterday.there is no any smile on hostess face.when we sat down i can easily smelled like table not wipe clean not fresh smell.she help me wiped again said they just repaint table recently but it is not painting smell!anyway table server not bad.teriyaki chicken was good,so we ordered second.unbelieveable, second round chicken is rotten and stinks!!I asked servered took away,after my son finished icecream,we decided leave and never back again. Before pay the bill,i asked if we can get credit because the chicken,yes,5% by cash which is regular member deserved?!in
the end she gave me another 5%off,totally 10%,ok fine! another funny thing:she didnot want gave me change back! Sorry,I would not pay any tips for whole thing!we already knew would not be back anymore so would like to redeem our 240+points for 1 bubble tea(200) +1 can pop (50points)that hostess (other girl told me she is the only one know how to do redeem gift)said no cuz not enough point,sure you are right!not enough!I'm sorry we ended up saying goodbye to Oishii this way!

Had a reservation 15 minutes after opening, had to wait in line for more than 20 minutes to be seated. As a group of 5 they let us know that gratuity would be applied automatically (fair enough). The entire dinner took more than 3 hours because we had to wait approximately 45 minutes per order. We honestly didn't even order much, but even then several items never made it to the table. We had to call it after 3 hours because it was ridiculous how long we had to wait for the food. I guess once they know that they'll be tipped they couldn't care less about service.

With regards to quality and the variety of food, its mediocre at best given the cost. I recommend spending your time and money elsewhere.

Let's be real here - we all know not to expect much when getting AYCE but this was disappointing.

1. Sashimi had bizzare texture - the salmon was slimy and tuna was crumbly/gritty. I ate it anyways but after googling it, turns out the salmon might have gone bad? !

2. We couldn't finish the spider rolls and tuna tataki because they tasted burnt - especially the tataki. It was BAD - like something got burnt on the griddle and the burnt bits went into the rolls and the tuna tataki absorbed the burnt flavour.

3. Beef tataki had very little flavour and was incredibly chewy.

4. The order in which the food came out was bizzare - we ordered some veg and shrimp tempura, veg came out at the start and shrimp at the end of our meal. Same with the mango salad - it also came at the end of our meal but it's literally just mixed greens with a dollop of mango sauce on top? Make that make sense.

Honestly I am not surprised why most of the staff there looked absolutely miserable. I wouldn't love my job either but in their defense, there was a few very nice/friendly staff as well.

Lastly, don't bother with the Deluxe. Frankly, I wouldn't pay the regular price either.

Food tasted okay but the quality isn’t that great. For $40 you can get better quality food elsewhere at that price range. Their tempuras aren’t your typical tempura you would find in other Japanese or Asian restaurants which is weird. The siu mai isn’t cooked properly as well as it is slightly underdone as well as their yakitori.

It was my daughter's birthday, and she went with all her girlfriends to enjoy yummy sushi, but the service was beyond zero stars. No one was checking on them and went to paying for the dinner they just paid one big bill so they could just get out over there. Each of them wanted to pay individually for them self.

First time trying out this place. I have been to many AYCE and this one is just average. The selections and options that are available is fantastic. But there are lots of restrictions and limits. The presentation is absolutely horrible. The sushi looks like it was made by a kid. Service was good everything you order is through a Ipad. Again I understand it's a AYCE place, but have had way better else where.

We went for AYCE lunch last Saturday (it was relatively quiet), and the food is very good. Everything is ordered with a tablet and the response time on bringing the food is efficient. All the rolls matched the pictures pretty closely and I would definitely recommend trying all of their special rolls.

We used to love this place for AYCE sushi. They have gone downhill from the first time we ate here. Prices have gone up and quality is not as good anymore. The hostess who sat us at a table had a terrible attitude. She looked like she was upset when we walked in and even more upset when we asked a question. We arrived at 8pm and closing was at 10pm. The hostess told us so many times that cut off was at 930pm. She seemed so irritated that we were there. Management should train their hosts to be better at customer service.

We just had buffet lunch today at Oishi. My family and I have been here many times since they opened and have enjoyed it. However, our experience there has been slowly going downhill within the past few visits, and today may be the last time we visit again.

To start, the presentation of the hand cones were almost as if toddlers put them together. They were rolled very messily, the fish was cut very poorly (long, uneven cuts, almost like leftover pieces of fish) and almost half a bowl of rice stuffed inside.

The Alberta rolls were supposed to be beef rolls, but the amount of beef given was equivalent to the size of the tip of my chopstick. And the portions were cut very uneven and very big, most almost being 2 inches long.

The worst part was the fish. I don't think the person responsible for the fish was properly trained at all.

We found a salmon bone with tendon attached in one of the rolls. Then, in the cone, one of the terribly cut pieces of salmon was so chewy it was literally like trying to chew a piece of rubber. Lastly, in the tuna hand cone, I found a small piece of clear plastic as I was chewing.

Lastly, they offered absolutely nothing to show they were sorry for the terrible quality of the meal. They did say sorry, but for the experience we had we were expecting a little more. Comping one of the guests meals or some sort of discount would have sufficed and perhaps persuaded us to come back. Our appetite was unsatisfied and we were only left with disappointment and frustration.

To top it off, when paying cash, you are supposed to receive a 10% discount. Unfortunately, we discovered after the fact that no discount was included at all even though we had paid cash.

Overall, their quality and care seems to be diminishing. The taste, quality and atmosphere is getting worse. We've gone to many other sushi restaurants and for the amount we paid at Oishi we could have had a phenomenal experience elsewhere. It's sad it has come down to this but we feel we have given them too many chances with no reward. After today, we will be spending our money elsewhere and most likely will not be going back.

MANGLED pieces of sashimi, LARGE BONE found along with PLASTIC in the sashimi. Also AUTOMATIC GRATUITY applied for FIVE guests?

We were once regulars here, and unfortunately will not be going back. We received a mere insincere apology when we notified them. To top it off, we paid in cash (with zero compensation for the terrible experience) and they DID NOT APPLY the 10% DISCOUNT for paying with CASH. Prices have also been increased, yet again. There is no care or quality to justify this any longer.

Please, STEER AWAY.you will have a better experience grabbing sushi to-go from a grocer.

Took 50 min to get 4 pieces of salmon sashimi and 2 pieces of tuna sashimi for all u can eat. Every item I didn’t get a item I had to re ask for and then waited for it to come.
Paid the bill and just left hungry at a all you can eat restaurant since no food came out. Food quality was not good at all. Kids didn’t even eat the plain chicken wings. That’s how bad it was.

Wonderful place for Japanese buffet. Fast and efficient servers. Place is tidy. A little dated style.
