Totally useless service. Better turn to Kal Tire or other. They refused to make alignment which Kal Tire did without problem

Ok let us talk about UNNECESSARY PRICE GOUGING. I went to them because I found a groupon.never again. I got my tires switched over and everything was fine, 5 days later I am getting this awful noise coming from my wheel. I take it back to them and explain the situation, they put it up on the hoist and tell me it is the wheel bearing and caliper that needs replacement. Based on some quick calls to other shops, the average quotation will be around $600-$800; they then go on to tell me it will be $1800! (1000+ for wheel bearing and 700+ for 1 caliper (4hrs labor just to change wheel bearing, everywhere else was 1.5hrs). They did not state how they diagnosed the issues, just "visual inspection". They never drove the car and replicated the noise.

Little did they know I have a lot of mechanic friends, take it to one of them and low-and-behold, not a single thing is wrong with the wheel bearing or caliper. There was no play in the wheel bearing and no noise with the dust shield pushed back (you can see the spot work down where it was rubbing), absolutely no leaks in the caliper and does not have a seized piston. The only reason they would have recommended a caliper replacement off visual inspection is leakage since I never complained about braking issues. They messed up and caused the dust guard to sit too close to the rotor that was actually causing the noise. So instead of owning up to their mistake, they tried to charge me $1000 for a wheel bearing I did not need and an additional $800 for a caliper that was functionally perfect.

I cannot stress this enough, do not go to this shop. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A FEMALE. They tried to commit highway robbery on me with a 99% chance they thought they could get away. Absolutely disturbing.

I strongly advise against using their services for any of your automotive needs and don't be enticed by their discounted rates. My experience with them was incredibly disappointing, marked by a lack of responsibility and professionalism. I had initially scheduled a winter tire swap for 11 a.m, but upon arriving at 10: 40, I was informed that my appointment was actually for 10 a.m, which was a clear mistake on their part.

To make matters worse, they mishandled the basic task of swapping my tires. I had specifically requested that the tires with better treads be placed at the front, but this simple instruction was overlooked. After waiting for two hours, I finally received my car, only to realize the error. When I brought this to their attention, their response was shockingly impolite, and they refused to acknowledge their mistake. Instead, they insisted that I book another appointment and pay extra for the correction! This experience was, without a doubt, one of the most unpleasant encounters I ever had.

It’s taken me a long time to write this because I’ve genuinely always had a good experience at this location and everyone is so friendly. Back in April I had an oil change there and it went routinely well. Then I drove to Edmonton, and when I arrived home, I noticed oil on the ground that was left by my vehicle. Me, thinking the obvious, brought it back to see if something happened during the oil change that had been done a couple weeks prior. This is when things went south. The technicians said that it wasn’t because of the oil change, they looked over my jeep and said they couldn’t tell where the leak was coming from so they put florescent dye into my oil to diagnose the source of the leak. I was told to drive it for a week and then bring it back in, so I did. When I brought it back, they informed me that there was “some good news and some bad news. ” The good news is that it was more of a sweat and the bad news was that it was my head gasket, which was going to be a really expensive repair and there are currently no parts in Canada. I was told to just keep driving it, and that I would likely get another 50-100km out of it and then my vehicle would essentially lose power. So for two months, I drove it with high anxiety that I was going to just lose power while driving, I cancelled a road trip to BC because all I could think of was driving on the highway and losing power. Then…. I called the dealership to see if there was extended warranty, just in case, and they informed me that there was a recall, I asked if it could have anything to do with the head gasket and they said no. So I brought my vehicle in that week and they fixed the recall, and when I picked my Jeep up, they said “ are you aware you have a major oil leak? We cleaned it up for you. ” I said “ oh yes, the head gasket right? ” The said “ no, whoever changed your oil last, did not properly install the oil filter and you had oil splashing all over everything. ”
The good news, that the head gasket is completely fine, the bad news is, I will ever go back to OK tire for an oil change or recommend them. They caused me months of undue stress, along the purchase of oil mats for my vehicle so I wouldn’t be leaking oil onto the ground everywhere I went. All they had to do was check the filter and would have realized it was put on incorrectly.

Took my car in to get a tire alignment. When I came back, the work was not done. I was told that bolts in one of my wheels was seized and something needed to be replaced. Having taking my car to my own mechanic less than a week prior I knew there was nothing wrong with my car. I just needed the alignment done since he didn't have the equipment available to him. When we asked for a quote they waffled and kept telling us that they needed to calculate the cost of the parts, and would get back to us later. That was almost a week ago. I do not recommend going to this place. They will cheat you and leave you with an empty wallet.

I have been in Canada for 4 months now and all my experiences were all positive till date. But the ok tire Chinook changed that. I did not like the staff behaviour at all. I went for just basic services of tire rotation and wheel alignment check. But the staff was so rude and to top it all, their centre manager was the worst. They did not answer anything. Did not explain me the diagnostic results. And their manager was even questioning that have I paid the bill before leaving!
To be honest, only the girl at the reception was talking politely, rest all were like toxic.
My friend recommended me to go to some other Shop on MacLeod trail but still I went to ok tire due to a Groupon coupon. Worst mistake!
NEVER AGAIN!

Failed to do wheel alignment on my Dodge Journey. I've installed new control arms, shock absorbers and alignment bolts. However, the mechanic said that he could not adjust 1 rear wheel. He didn't like the new bolt.
After that, all work on the car was stopped and it was returned to me. The steering wheel began to stand crooked. The car began to pull to the side. I do not recommend this station
I've checked this suspension after visiting OK TIre and found that the rear control arm bolt was not tightened. I could crash. Unprofessional work that puts life at risk.

Not recommended for anyone as they are not honest I hade offer from Groupon and asked me to pay for the oil filter even it’s included in the offer plus the staff have no experience my car take 0 w20 or 5 w30 according to the dealer and they add 5 w20 which is not recommended I hade to take my car somewhere else to do the oil change again so don’t waste ur money or time there!

Transparent and honest service, reasonable pricing, and fantastic customer service. Overall the most pleasant experience having my car serviced since moving to Calgary. I will definitely be back.

I had an oil change done and I was happy to return. However, since they started working on my car on January 2023 they have provided poor service and acted very strange with me. I came in with my 2019 Honda civic due to some lights (engine, safety.) appearing on my dashboard. They recommended to change my wheel bearing and speed sensor which i did have them replace. That did not fix the light popping on my dashboard.

Richard sent me to Honda to reset a code and said it would be free. Honda said they would have to do their diagnostic to figure out the issue which they charged me for. Honda said that the wheel bearing and speed sensor were incorrectly installed and i told that to Richard. Richard said Honda diagnostic was not true so he set up an appointment with me and him at a different Honda location who came up with the same diagnostic. However, Richard told me that Honda said that the 2 parts were damaged. I had to go back to Honda to know the truth because Richard sounded very fishy. He finally fixed the issue after the second diagnostic.i had to come back to this shop because of some grinding noise they created. They fixed the noise then but it started being noisy again. I don’t know what they’ve done to my car but I’m not going there again.

I had wasted so much time going back (more than 7 times) to this shop and Honda for the same problem. There were few instances where they returned my car telling me it was fixed when it was not. He had me coming to the shop and there was no mechanic to perform the job. Their customer service is very very bad. Do not go there if you have a challenging issue. They were incompetent in resolving this matter. They have not apologized or offered any refund. I requested a refund which they agree at first but i never received the money. I wish i checked their reviews before going there. This location is the worst.

Untrustworthy business

I paid full price to replace 4 tires and they installed used balanced on my tires with different colors and they did not adjust the timing belt that i have requested

Manager said we are out of balance and we used old one.

Came here to do a wheel alignment and it was done under the wrong specifications (my rear wheels almost looked bent) so I had to go take it to another shop to have them adjusted correctly. This shop had gave me a refund but refused to pay for the damages or reimburse the cost from the other shop I took it to in order to get it corrected. Definitely will not return here and I’m glad the service was only an alignment and nothing more.

Brought my vehicle in for an a/c issue and was told it was low on freon and had no leaks. The freon was serviced and things were chill. After the next couple of drives, I had no a/c again so I went back and they showed me freon all over the condenser. This thing leaked like a sieve. I Was quoted $1,800 more to repair. I took the car to GMC and had it properly repaired for $900.

Great place to get tires or other repairs done at a fair price for everyone. Do try them out. You won't regret it at all.

Got me in short notice and serviced my tire in approx 5 minutes. Great service and super helpful. I will go back to them again for sure!

Don't judge the book by the cover.the service (wheel alignment) was great with fair price

Went in for a balance, they quoted me for inner and outer tie rods and asked them if the inner and outer tie rods replacement would fix the steering wheel shake, they said wheels might also need to be balance so I went ahead and asked them to do my inner and outer tie rods, alignment and wheel balance. Inner and outer tie rods were replaced but my car’s steering wheel is out of alignment and I checked my wheels if they actually did balance them, they only balanced 1 wheel but charged me for 4 wheels. Would not recommend at all. Stay away from this “mechanic” shop. They’ll just mess up your car even more.

Went to get my winter tires taken off and somehow my brakes started having issues shortly after. That was a fun 1300$ extra

I brought my vehicle to ok tire chinook in order to fix a problem with the vehicle pulling to the right. I was under the impression that it needed an alignment and they had a deal on alignments-about $90. The vehicle is a Toyota with 150000 km on it. They called me and stated they couldn’t do an alignment because it needed a new wheel bearing, and it would cost about $600. This seemed expensive to me, so I took it to another shop to get a second opinion-estimate. I was unable to pick up my vehicle during their work hours, so I asked the mechanic to put my keys in the glove compartment and lock it. They did not do this and my wife had to pick up the keys the next day. In turn, I questioned the competence of the mechanic. I know people make mistakes, but would a seasoned mechanic do this? He also seemed a little sketchy when he told me about the repair.

The second shop diagnosed the problem as a loose strut bolt. They torqued the bolts, and charged me 140 for the alignment. This was a little more than the 90 OK tire wanted for an alignment, but I had no problems paying for the second shops expertise. The second shop was Midsun Auto, and I will be returning to them in the future. A lot better than paying for dart board mechanics.

Used the Groupon and they ended up quoting me for over $600 in repairs to fix alignment. I went to another shop in NE Calgary and they did the alignment with no issue. The Groupon is a scam to get you in the door to spend money here. Lots of money! Overall, the negative reviews for tire alignment are real.

These guys are great! They always do the most they can for the price you pay. I used to be scared to take my car to the mechanic’s shop but these guys have changed my mentality. They are actually in business to help people, not just turn a profit. It’s a pleasure to deal with everyone there. Went in for an oil change and they noticed my headlight was burnt out and a belt was squealing pretty bad. I paid $120 for an oil change, a light replacement, the repairs to my belt, and all the labour. They said I would probably need a couple other things repaired (it’s a 2007) but instead of charging me, they sent me a quote so I can decided when to come back in. Like I said, they don’t price gouge the public! Would highly recommend Ok tire to every Calgarian:)

I think Frank Parson is right.
There was nothing broken in my car prior.
I came in for an oil change and left with a broken stabilizer.
The stabilizers were not broken before so after reading Frank Parson's comment, it make sense.
Unless there are security footage of no one touching the stabilizers, I will not be coming back.
They also didn't reset the oil change alarm on my car.
So I went to another mechanic, reset that and fix the stabilizer arm for 90.

Service is quick and reasonably price. They are very attentive to details and explained to me what was done in the vehicle.
At the end, there's a tip from the boss.
This place is highly recommended.

I couldn’t be more impressed by the service I received from the guys at OK Tire Chinook. I was traveling through Calgary on Easter long weekend (good luck finding a reliable mechanic let alone parts
during a long weekend) and my rear struts and shocks decided to give way half way through my trip. Richard and Mike diagnosed the problem on Saturday morning, gave me a very reasonable quote, ordered the necessary parts right away and had me on my way Monday morning. Very honest work and customer focused business. Thank you so much!

I've been going here for about a year or so now. The service has always been amazing. They are super friendly and don't push services on you. Been going for oil changes mostly. I go out of my way to continue their service as they are just so polite and helpful.

Great experience with wheel alignment of my car. They also found some clips and bot are missing from my skid plate and offer me replacement for free! So awesome!
