Didn't stay at the B&B but the trail riding was amazing, would definitely go again

Thank you Mary, for sharing your beautiful space with us! A real gem tucked back in beside the Athabasca River. We were able to meet her rules and regulations to stay there in our RV. She runs a tight ship, but that’s why the stay there is so pleasant.
Beautiful setting, and being able to hear the river at night was so tranquil. There is the option to go horseback trail riding with Mary, we went hiking and biking instead. Stunning mountain views along the river. It will not disappoint. We will be back!

My family did horseback riding with no experience and we all loved it.
Both guides are really nice and the owner lady was also very nice too.
Horses were well trained and track was very good

The views horseback riding were amazing. The guides were great. Gave lots of instructions on how to handle and steer the horses. I'll definitely go again. I will probably have to rent a cabin next time.

My friend and I were traveling through Alberta and kept looking for an authentic Canadian farm to do a trail ride with.

We found Old Entrance by chance via Google, booked and were absolutely amazed by the experience. The horses were loved by the owner, a nice lady (Mary) and her helpers, which were all very friendly (thanks again to Josephine). The trail was beautiful, amazing views over the river and overall perfect scenery. We were accompanied by Mary’s dog Sol which was a cute little extra.
We’ve never been riding western style before but it was easy and a lot of fun. Horses seemed in good condition, calm and loved.
Would recommend 100% and we are hoping to come back for another ride!:) thank you!

We had the absolute pleasure of getting to spend a couple of nights in this adorable “Brown” cabin this winter.

It was absolutely perfect! And I love that they have a full kitchen and wood burning stove. The bed was super comfy as was the futon and the kitchen had pretty much everything one needs! (Except a corkscrew so maybe bring one)

Even the adorable farm style dishes added to the vibe!

Highly recommend this quaint little place in the valley!

Not a good experience. We went last year with a bigger group and everything went good, but this time was different - we called and booked a trial ride and sent an email with all the information that was needed. We planned a whole trip around this, and when we arrived, the owner stated that she forgot to book us, and that we didn't receive a confirmation email, making it seem as though it was our fault.
She wasn't apologetic and it really seemed like she wanted us to leave.
Seems like she favours the bigger groups over the smaller ones.

Mary went out of her way to accommodate our group of 12 riders for the two hour ride. Thank you Mary! Excellent horses for our younger kids and the more experienced riders. The two helping hands Dave and Ally were also awesome and very knowledgeable. Great trails and some spectacular views. Will definitely come back in the future.

It was fantastic adventure, beautiful scenery Mary and staff were awesome very knowledgeable, caring and supportive. Horses were amazing and very well trained, I had a pleasure of riding on Prince absolutely beautiful and very smart horse. I will do it again. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

My husband and I stayed in the "Grey Cabin" from Sept. 13th - Sept. 16th situated up on the hill next to the horses! It was perfect! The cabin was clean and well appointed. Loved having a glass of wine on the wrap around deck watching the sun set.so peaceful! We took a couple of rides with Mary and they were unbelievable! If you want to ride a horse and experience the mountains this is the place to visit! We cannot thank Mary enough for our incredible stay. Highly recommend this little gem ️

We had a fantastic ride here with Mary. I rode Hector, who was so well behaved, through absolutely stunning countryside. The whole experience was so serene and views were spectacular. Mary was in control the whole time, a true professional very ably assisted by a young lady whos name I cannot recall, sorry

This was an absolutely beautiful and amazing place! The views of the mountains and river were lovely, and Mary and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The 2hr trail ride was wonderful with well trained horses to lead us through the stunning terrain. We stayed in the grey cabin, which was very cozy and had all the amenities. Adding to the 5 star experience was watching the horses graze and play free throughout the property in the evening. I wish we could’ve stayed longer.

This is an incredible trail ride outfit. The horses are healthy, happy and well trained. The scenery is spectacular and the guides, Allie and Dave, were lovely and encouraged my 7 and 10 year old such that they handled the 90 minute ride up and down the countryside with confidence. Can’t wait to come back for the 3 hour ride!

Breathe in the pristine Mountain air. A vacation you will long remember. Friendly efficient service, spectacular views, all the comforts of home without the chore list. We highly recommend.

Nice quiet outdoor experience. Celebrated my brother's 75 Birthday at this property with family members. Stayed a couple nights. Recommend this place. Check the website.

If I could give a Zero I would! Mary was really rude when I called to try to book all her cabins and Teepees, for a long weekend, we wanted to to trail rides etc and while there my daughter was gonna get married. The owner would not even listen to what I was looking for, all she heard was a large group and she would not even talk to me. It was one of the rudest calls I've ever had.

This was a scenic place. I had an unfortunate experience. We picked an hour and a half ride. About half way into a challenging trail for beginners, my horse decided to break the line and make a run for it. I am not sure what triggered it, I followed the instructions, did the commands I was advised to stop him, but ended up getting thrown off of him. It was a very scary experience. Mary handled it quite poorly. She was very concerned about the horse. We were advised to apologize to the horse. I was told to get back on, while I sat on the grass shaking and crying. I refused to get back on, as it was very traumatizing for me. I got the, did you break any bones? Which thankfully I didn't and that it happens. No one seemed to care about my well being, if I was ok. Everyone had to tend to the horses. Half my family members got off their horses to help me, but the staff did nothing at all. I was an inconvenience to their trail, they had to arrange for me to be driven back. I get it, it happens. You're on a horse, riding it for the first time, you're not gonna be on the same page, but how I was treated by the staff, no one even bothered to ask if I was ok, if I needed maybe water, a quick checkup, bandaids or something to clean me up, help me work through the shock. Thankfully my family members were there to get me water, pain killers, walk me through. The way the situation was handled was extremely poor.zero customer service. At the end of the day I was the only one that walked away physically hurt, everyone else went about their business of just carrying on with the next ride.

Mary the owner was amazing and knew exactly what she was doing and had some good terrain to ride on. Loved it and would do it again. Prices were not expensive for time spent on horse. Loved it, will return soon.

We are a couple who stayed 2 night in the teepee beside the river on May first weekend and had booked a 2h horseback ride on Saturday.
Mary was very responsive to my emails and gave me a lot of advice on booking.
We were very well received by Mary and Sol, her golden lab. She explained us the functioning of the stay and let us quietly settle in.
The place is very nice, very quiet, an incredible view and we felt like we were alone, disturbed by nobody. You can hear the horses, the river, the wind. This is exactly what we were looking for.
The next day Mary made sure we had a good night sleep and introduced us to Travis and Dominique, her team who prepared us to the horseback ride. This was my first time, I was quite scared but Mary and Travis were very patient and helpful. The view is beautiful, the horses in good shape, looks like they have all the need + love and the prices are extremely low compare to the rest of Alberta.
An unforgettable weekend thanks to Mary and her team.

By far the best trail ride I have been on! The scenery was truly amazing. The instructions for riding were explained clearly and the horses were very gentle to ride. Absolutely great experience!

Great view and great cabins. 3 to choose from. Right beside the Athabaska River. Mountain few just an awesome ace to stay. Mary is a great hostess. And horses are around too. Highly recommend.

Old Entrance is a place to find peace.to sit and watch the idyllic views.to enjoy walks/hikes/trail rides along and above the Athabasca. Time for just enjoying the simple things of life.
We stayed in the Grey Cabin with our Dachshund Ozzie who thoroughly enjoyed all around him. Rustic.comfortable.all facilities you need.and a lovely porch to relax on in the sun or a campfire to keep you cozy on the colder days.
Mary Luger is friendly.willing to inform or help.will take you on Trail rides. Her love of her home shines from her soul. GO ENJOY.you will wonder where your time there disappeared.

Well groomed trails, horses are very healthy and kept well. Amazing scenery along with knowledgeable staff.

We had an amazing 2 hour trail ride with Mary. We went to the top along the ridge and through the forest. Best trail ride ever.

Very nice place! I wouldn't rush out to stay again. Don't see why they have to charge $10 for a few sticks when there are plenty of trees.
I found it to be very annoying that the trains had to run 3 or 4 times a hr, 24/7

This is the best place to stay when heading to the Mountains. Its so quaint and private and you get a really great morning view. I recently stayed in the brown cabin (few weekends back) and it was super cozy and very neat and clean. My girl friend and I had a fabulous weekend getaway. Such a healing experience and I will definitely be going back! Mary (owner) was super helpful with her words of advice and I will always be grateful to her. I hope everyone has a marvelous stay there like we did!

Amazing experience. Mary is super friendly and funny. My boyfriend and I drove from Toronto to Jasper and a horseback ride was on my list. It exceeded my expectations. You get amazing views, well tempered horses who are well groomed and cared for. If you have the chance to visit here, DO IT! Thank you for such a great day! Next time we’re out here, we will be back:)
