Not impressed. You do not get much back for what you bring in. It's very slim pickings for clothing and way overpriced compared to other stores I've visited. I took my $10 and traded straight across for one pair of jeans knowing damn well I donated Osh Kosh Overalls, Levi's jeans, carter's clothes that were in great condition. I feel sad that the owner takes advantage of people when some people don't have the money for new clothing. I won't ever be back or offer any clothing to this location again. Yuck. OH also be aware that they don't call or text when your items are ready. After reading other people's comments, I was never told about a 48 hour policy to pickup and never told that you don't call or text like the other locations do- bad business. Good thing I was ontop of it or I would've missed out on my measly $10. My mistake for selling here. Should have read the other reviews.

Absolutely terrible. Went in with bags of clothes which they denied, Went home and put them in bins, brought them back and the manager told me they won't be going through all the bins just because I just threw them in. It's a waste of their time too go through the bins. Isn't that their job to go through clothes? I don't understand that. We are giving them business and they deny us.
They should really reconsider these rules as most people that shop their are busy moms that don't have time for those rules or are pregnant mothers who cant be lugging in all these heavy items back and forth which is exactly what I had to do.

Manager was beyond rude and unprofessional. The girls working there looked embarrassed for the way he spoke to us.
Won’t be back there again.

Went in today with 4 bags of clothes and got denied because they weren't in a box or bin what difference does it make if it's in a box or bin waste of time

They take bits and pieces of sets when purchasing, then leave the rest behind leaving it useless. Pay very little for taking toys worth a lot of money. Better off selling privately.

This is the absolute worst place, we took in six boxes of toys and clothes (we called ahead they don’t allow bags) we received hardly nothing for the items that are in excellent condition they had items on the rack that where stretched, over washed and faded but since they where “big brand names” they where on the rack for quite the profit. Value Village takes donations and they give you a 20% off coupon no matter the size of the donation I feel that stretches a lot further than what these folks are offering. I will never support this business again.

I just came from out of town to drop off a small bag of baby clothes. They advised me that they now have a box or bag policy in place and would not accept my items. This is pretty disappointing as I shop here often and bring things in often and have never been notified of this. After asking if an exception could be made this time and I would be aware of the new policy for next time, I was still turned away. Poor customer service and it will impact whether I return next time.

BUYER BEWARE. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I bought my son a winter jacket and he tried it on and it fit so I took the tag off. When he wore the jacket the zipper broke off. I would have expected them to do something more than 15% off another jacket. They told me they couldn't buy the jacket back from me because it had a broken zipper. But they were fine selling me with a faulty zipper. I am very disappointed and I will never shop there again and will tell everyone I know how they treat loyal customers. Stay away from this place!

Drove all the way in with 4 bags of clothes (all clean) and was sent away because they weren't in boxes or bins! I'm sorry.but that's the silliest rule I have ever heard of. You have clothes hanging throughout the store that is much dirtier and less clean.
What is it that they are worried about? !? What is a box going to change? I won't be back unfortunately. Bring your stuff to Blackfalds happy camper, they don't care about silly stuff like this.

Very unsatisfied give you basically nothing for your clothes and then charge for five times the amount that it’s worth

Amazing place! I called in for a stroller that would fit my carseat and the lady pointed me toward the perfect one within my budget, everything there is very fair prices and the staff is amazing

I had to change my review from 4 star to a 1 star after discovering this. I brought stuff in to sell, they took most of it except a few pairs of summer shoes, which i was surprised by, since they are in excellent condition. Regardless no big deal BUT I had purchased a pair of rain boots for my daughter, which she loved and was wearing for almost 3 weeks when i discovered that this place actually sold me boots were one foot is a size 9 and the other is a size10. WHO DOES THAT! In All Of My years of buying shoes from this place i never would have thought that i needed to double check to make sure they were the same size.i will never go here again.

Lots of variety for all ages. The staff here is helpful, kinda. Easy parking right out front. The store is very organized and easy to navigate. I will be bringing cloths in to sell and will update my review after to let you know how it went.

Every time I go here I have a terrible experience. I find the staff not polite and customer service very poor. They also take items but they are not listed on the pay out. Just all around not worth it.

Sold some clothes here and was happy with what I received. Also found a great selection for my son.

It is cheaper to purchase things on the Buy and Sell! Also their consignment policy is weird. I brought in (1) item and they told me to put it into a box lol

Took a playpen I had bought from them 2 years prior and had been used at my grandparents for visits. Had only been used around 10 times and was in good shape. They wouldn't buy it because the carrying case that protects it had some dust marks that came off with a cloth once wiped. Not the first time I've taken in something in excellent shape and they've found ridiculous reasons to not take the item.

I brought in a full box of new and unworn newborn and 0-3 items to sell. They told me I'd have to come back in a couple of hours to see if they were done. No text, no call to say they're done. And if I didn't show I had 48 hours to come get it or it was going to be "donation". Then when I did come back for my cash, they said they only accepted 9 items to purchase and didn't give me the rest back. They just took them as donations. And for those 9 peices I got 5.40$. Some of the reasons they didn't take the clothing was that they were "out of style". Completely ridiculous, not worth it. Sell your stuff on Facebook. You'll get more money.

Absolutely disgusted will never go back. I remember when a single mother could afford to shop there. Went to try to save money for back to school shopping what a joke. I will never spend another dollar there. They should be ashamed of themselves and to work for such an establishment. I would give 0 star but I had to at least give 1 to leave my input. Thanks for ruining my and my kids day

Good wish they had more selection of clothes for boy sizes 2t-4T. I've seen lots of clothes from gfs that they rejected and nothing wrong with them that I ended up buying from friends because they felt the name brand wasn't good enough.and because of that I rarely shop there for clothes anymore.its too bad.because its a good place.but just doesn't have what I need at this time

I just witnessed an interaction between some "antimaskers" and staff at the store. They were unhappy with the position the store has regarding masks and were loud and somewhat aggressive. They claimed to have an exemption for medical reasons. I've been to other stores and if someone has a medical exemption, they have their letter and provide it. No issues. I get that everyone has an opinion regarding covid but I support businesses that make mask wearing a requirement.

I'd give them less than one star. I have no idea how they even keep open. Brought in a whole carload of Thomas train sets. (worth over $50.00 per set, at least!) They lied and said they were all missing parts, even though my grandson had taken the time to assemble them to make sure there were no missing pieces! There was 1 set missing a vital part, which I had told them about.anyways they offered me a whole $5.75 for my efforts. Not only was I furious, but had to take them all back home, and I had brought them in from quite a distance! I would never cross their threshold again. Horrible place!

I couldn't help but be impressed by the way one of the young ladies dealt with an upset (selfish) lady.
She had dropped some clothes off and wasn't happy with what they hadn't taken and was being loud and somewhat aggressive. The young lady remained calm, very friendly and continued to apologize to the lady and even offered to go through the items to show her why they hadn't taken things.
I shop here OFTEN! I'm glad they're selective with what they take but have had no issues selling to them myself. For kids clothes, I find the prices and selection better than any other second hand store. If you're looking to get rich off selling used clothing this maybe isn't the place for you but if you're looking for a simple convienient option to recycle unused clothes, then I highly recommend going here!

Staff is friendly and they are taking lots of covid precautions. I would only suggest perhaps having sanitizer at the front door.

Love that they offer online shopping through Covid. The items we got were priced fairly and in great shape! I ordered online and the process was simple and efficient. The items were delivered that same evening. Thanks Once Upon A Child!:)

Sold a stroller and a bassinet. Didn't get as much as I maybe could have on FB marketplace but it was sooooo much easier!

The most greedy people I have seen run a children's clothing store. They give very little money for the clothes they turn around and sell for so much more. Not to mention when they have sales they have barely anything but yet the shelves for regular price are so stuffed you cant move. They have far more product than what moves out the doors.

Bought and sold here for many years. Here and Plato's are fantastic and are locally owned. Support local, keep our $ local and keep locals employed.

I love the last 2 reviews. Both obviously hadn't read the last couple FB posts about "limited selection in some sizes" and that this was a sale process lasting many weeks until the final event AND the bit in posts about "shop early for best selection" WOW!
Also, I feel sorry for the young lady who wrote the review about this store being "greedy" and selling for way more than what they pay. Hello. This is called capitalism! She thinks this stores bad, ha, at least this is recycling. She should see what a place like Walmart marks things up for and sells product at! Jeesh people educate before you spout off! Lol

I was in the store yesterday and couldn't help but notice the prices on all clothes have almost doubled. I also happened to notice that they were selling Walmart brand clothing for the same price as new or higher. I was told they don't accept Walmart clothing so the fact that it's being sold at new prices or higher is a bit disappointing. I also happened to notice that several pairs of jeans in the girls section were in fact women's size jeans. Very disappointing, will not be back. People go to your store for discounted items, not to pay full price for used and often times worn out or damaged clothing.

We got there for their 90%off bag sale at 12pm all that was there was one rack of baby stuff and 6 totes of baby shoes. Was just a waist of time.

We have bought and sold from this location and have always been very happy with what they are able to offer us and the prices! Staff are always wonderful.

Some deals are great, most are meh unless you come in for sales or text offers. Lots of good toys though! Much of the clothing is overpriced for used and tends to have damage or wear, which is very odd because the one time we brought stuff in they barely took anything and it was all almost mint condition. The girl I dealt with seemed very selective yet I never find much good stuff when shopping unless my son's size is very popular. I wouldn't sell to them again, they separated many matching sets like Nike sweatsuits and such only taking pants and breaking up sets even though both pieces should have clearly stayed together which I didn't notice until we went through everything left at home a couple of weeks later which would have been much too late to do anything if I cared enough to do something about it. Maybe I just got unlucky with the girl going through clothing. But also tend to not have much luck as a shopper here either. We come by to check things out once in a blue moon if I get texted a good enough deal or offer through their loyalty program and happen to be in Red Deer or planning to go. It usually just ends up being mainly toys although we always look through clothes too. Kind of disappointing in there most of the time, maybe we just have bad timing of when we go. At least the staff is always very friendly and helpful and there is usually good toys.

You can find some good deals here if you look but beware of how they word or phrase their deals. I recently got screwed over when they sent me a coupon saying it was a winter clearance sale and I could get 60% off, so I went with a child I know who needed a winter jacket and let her pick one out. No deal at all! Apparently it was “Winter Clearance” sale not winter clearance sale. There was a section of “winter clearance items” set off to the side but there were no actual winter jackets in that section, more like spring or fall jackets that won’t keep the kids warm in Alberta winter. I am disappointed in your sneaky advertising.

Love this place for both buying and selling. Much easier to sell here than on FB or Kijiji. They can be selective with what they take, as a previous review said, I'm ok with this because I shop here and always find great clothing for my 8 and 10 year old.

I see some people complaining about what they don't purchase from them. Personally, as someone that shops here often, I'm glad they're selective with what they buy. The girls are always friendly and very helpful!

I always find that they have great clothes less than you'd pay pretty much anywhere else. I don't understand the people that complain about what they don't take. Sell it yourself and deal with that! Or, take to one of the other thrift stores in town and get nothing. Options that are helpful to our environment. I've sold hear for 4 years and always feel they're fair. Then again, I'm not looking to get rich off what I sell. Just want it gone in an environmentally responsible way. What they're unable to take is donated to Bibles For Missions Thrift Store

Great store with a great selection! I like that they're selective with what they purchase. Quality of the clothing is much better than Value Village.

Went here for the first time with my wife (who shops at Once Upon A Child often) and was really impressed with the prices and helpful staff.

Went to buy a baby gate after looking at walmart for one. Found the exact same gate that I found at Walmart for 15.00 more. They were brand new I guess but wow! What a mark up.

Just loaded up on their clearance items for my little man. Lots of selection. Also found the prices on the regular priced clothing really good. Got Osh-Kosh and Tommy for way less than I would have paid anywhere else. Some isles are a bit tight and you have to be prepared to spend a bit of time but worth it. Also, got 3 free clearance items for joining the new Mom club. I'll be back.

I was so impressed with the improvements to the layout and organization of the store! Went in for a dress for my daughter's winter concert, and left with so much more.

I enjoy coming here. We always walk away with good used clothing, shoes and toys. Our girls love it here. Great pricing and a wonderful way to give a break to parents and family's

So crowded in there that it’s hard to even find stuff. Don’t bother spending 5 hours digging through piles and piles just to find a decent deal because you won’t. Place has gone down hill in the last year or two.

Was needing some snow pants because my daughter lost hers (again) and even though they had put away all the winter gear, they brought a tub of pants from the back and let me dig through it. Thanks guys!

Great selection and a mix of brands. Helpful patient staff. A lady was quite upset that the store didn't purchase all the items she had brought in for them to view but the young lady that was being so patient with her did a very good job explaining why! Personally I'm glad they don't buy everything that comes in their door.
