Ottewell Daycare & After School Care

I dodged a bullet by avoiding this place. In talking to people I learned a lot of things, among them that it's not unheard of for this place to show 2-3 movies in one day to the kids. No thanks. I'd rather staff that engage with the children entrusted to their care.

I've been taking my kid to Ottewell for a while now and you just can't beat how friendly and kind the staff are. My son always raves about how much he likes it there. Well done to Ottewell Daycare for such a great service!

Ottewell daycare has been a second home to my two children the last year or so. Management has made it seamless for our transition from a dayhome to a daycare.even went above and beyond and helped my one son who was very anxious about going to school by making him at ease.

The employees there care for my children and more importantly show love and compassion towards them. I have nothing but positive things to say about this centre!

Under their "care", my son’s genitals were grabbed and tickled by another child while he loudly protested “Stop, stop, you’re hurting me! ” He pushed the handsy child off and immediately told staff (why weren’t they supervising!?), whose ONLY response was: Tell so-and-so (offending child's mom) when she arrives (!). With the intention of making upper management aware of the incident, I emailed them a statement that my son dictated to me. I expected this to be professionally addressed and filed.

Shockingly, rather than meeting as adults with the other parents and children involved to discuss this and the "pantsing" incidents that preceded it, care was terminated for our entire family (3 kids). I later found out that the parent of the handsy child is friends with management. This left my wife and I desperate and without the care we counted on in the middle of a work week. Management here is unprofessional, deceptive, and appallingly inconsiderate.

While under daycare “supervision”, we found out that another child had created an online social media profile for my 6 year old son. He said the profile was complete with video and pictures, but we’ll never know the true nature of the content (he didn't know the login information). I then discovered that the online screen time allowed at the center was poorly enforced, and kids were left for hours at a time to surf the internet, devoid of parental controls or any real supervision. I immediately brought this issue up to management who, to my knowledge, did nothing to uncover the unauthorized social media account, didn't implement parental controls, and essentially ignored the issue (which violates user age minimums). I had to bring the issue up again after my children repeatedly had nightmares from the horror content they saw older children watching. Sadly, I don't think management or staff care much about the children under their care or the parents, for that matter.

Ottewell daycare is one of the most loving and caring daycare I have ever dealt with. They are very understanding and accommodating for children with special needs. They go above and beyond teaching all the children about understanding special needs kids.

10/10 highly recommend!

I feel so badly for my little grandson because of some of the things he told me about this daycare. Apparently, the management here think an appropriate punishment for acting out of line is to have a child sit, without moving or communicating and without any toys, books, or anything at all, on an outside bench under the hot sun for four hours. When my daughter suggested for them to instead use a timer for a 30 minute maximum “cool down” or “time-out, ” management seemed genuinely bewildered at the idea! I can't believe they would do this to small children! I am so relieved my grandkids no longer attend this place.

I love this daycare the staff is very caring and it is always clean and organized. My child is always happy to go to daycare and I feel confident and secure about him attending this facility. They are like a second family to him.

Ottewell Daycare has maintained a high professional environment and accomadate to all our needs. Very respectful to the kids and all our kids enjoy the time they spend there making friends and interacting with the staff. Thanks so much!

Such an amazing center with amazing teachers! We moved our children over to Ottewell when teacher Courtney left another center. Amongst other reasons, teacher Courtney makes this Center what it is. Thank you for all your hard work, Courtney.

Had a close family friend share their experience with this daycare provider. I was shocked and disappointed by the lack of professionalism, and openness! In a business that is supposed to help shape young people for the future I find is disturbing that they would cave to a bully and leave a family strapped for child care with next to no notice.

My daughter has been going there for the past 1 year and the owner are very personable and love the kids.

Pam (the owner) and all the staff are extremely amazing. They are so interactive and maintain a great schedule for my 9 month old. I look forward to having my son in the daycare and afer schoo care for many years to come!

My Older daughter has been going to this daycare for 2 years and 1 year at the previous location. There are just so many great things to say about Pam (owner) and all the staff. Everybody is so caring, interactive and passionate, they almost feel like family. Children play at parks and go for walks multiple times per day when the weather is nice. Pam organizes many field trips for the children. Younger children are kept on a practical schedule that will not differ much from your own. My children have learned so much and love all the staff and new friends they have made. Thank-you to everybody at at Orwell Daycare. I never have a worry when my children are there.
