A favourite restaurant whenever we visit Calgary. Delicious food, service and the best coffee in town. Thank you for making our visit every time a memorable event with our family.
Seating was swift and friendly, and service was impecable without being over the top. Thanks Paige! Atmosphere was a great mix of young for energy and old (er) for comfort. (Note I fit the later category.harrumpf).
Breakfast, like me, was the "Classic" two eggs over easy, sausage and I substituted the "leafy salad" with patatas bravas. Salad just ain't a breakfast thang. Sour dough with a house prepared jam. The eggs were perfect. Coffee was hot, plentiful and tasty!
This is a great place where my family and I had dinner. We were impressed by the politeness of the staff and how much they knew everything about the dishes they served. Thank you, we will definitely come again!)
I've been a member of this community for quite some time, and I must say that this is unquestionably my favourite spot. The food is authentic, the coffee is superb, and the staff is fantastic. It's a place that truly gives you a sense of being at home away from home. I can't emphasize enough how much I recommend it – don't miss out on their breakfast sandwich!
Went with my sister to get some work done on our laptops at around 2-3 on Sunday afternoon, place was pretty empty, sat down inside ordered a coffee and started working on the laptop. Server was not friendly. After 20 minutes on the laptop, another server comes by and tells us they have a no laptop policy and walks away… we weren’t able to order food and just felt super unwelcomed. We both had laptop bags coming in and even pulled them out and used them for a little while and the server came by a few times and even gave us the wifi password to use on our laptop until we were told not to by another one. They should really have a sign stating they do not permit laptops because it’s rare a coffee shop prohibits that. So many other more inviting coffee places in mardaloop!
Great food and we love a wine Wednesday with 25% off bottles - we sat outside on the dog friendly patio which was great. I would definitely suggest a visit for dinner! We typically go for brunch which is also excellent.
Came here for the first time in February and still have daydreams about the huevos and chorizo. Such a cute atmosphere, too! Definitely a favourite in Calgary!
Foods not bad but why does it have to have music blasting at lunch time. So many restaurants in Calgary have the same problem. Difficult to converse with the other people at your table. Won’t go back.
Like the other 1 star reviews I didn’t know they had specific times for no laptops…so I come in saying I’m new to the place they sit me down, I order, and then take out my laptop…5-10 mins go by I receive my food and then was told I couldn’t have my laptop out. I so badly didn’t want to pay for that food and wanted to walk out… it was a horrible experience. So I took my food to go and doubt I’ll be coming back.genuinely I figured with cafe in the name it would be like HigherGround in Kensington where you can order food/beers and work on your laptop, without it being a crime.
Been looking forward to sitting in for brunch here for a while. We’ve had takeout coffees and such in the past and been happy with it, but never sat in. It’s typically busy in here, especially on the weekends so we expected a bit of a wait for a Saturday. They told us 20 mins and that they would call when it was ready. We waited 35 mins before heading back in and asking for an update. They kind of ignored us standing at the door waiting to ask.then said they had trouble with our phone number. We got sat shortly after. Service continued to be poor throughout our dining experience. This is unfortunate given the price of food and drink, I would expect higher quality service. No excuses for a small dining room, and plenty of servers on staff. Waited probably 15 mins for our bill and had to ask a different server. It was overall strange, as though they did not want our service? Probably won’t dine in again.
My favourite spot in Calgary for breakfast and coffee. Also recommend for the grab and go options and last minute gift items. The chocolate croissant served on weekends, the spiked slushy drinks and the salad (s) and breakfast sandwich are highlights of the menu. The patio is lovely in the summer, keep in mind service gets a bit slow when it's really busy, which is understandable. Tip: call ahead for take out if you're in a rush!
Ambience is great, and the staff is very nice. I tried the rooibos latte and it was delicious. I also like that it stays open later than most “coffee places” (they also serve dinner). It is just a tad pricey, but in line with what you would expect from a place of this caliber. (I would give it a 4.5 stars if I could!)
Cute spot with good service but the music is so loud that I could not talk over it with people or even do phone calls or a bit of work while enjoying the food and drinks.
Plenty of gluten free and dairy free options. I had a GF DF cookie which was fantastic. Coffee was good too. Different offerings from around town and the world make this a must visit for your special occasion needs. I'll need to return and try the cafe menu.
If I ever go bankrupt, it'll be because I eat here too much. The breakfast home fries, the burger, literally can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
Nice cafe! The service is great and the have an extensive drink list offering coffees and morning cocktails. We had brunch here and all the food was good. It was pretty simple recipes, but we'll prepared and presented. They use high quality ingredients, which I appreciate very much in a meal.
A lot of places come and go in Calgary but really happy that ODB has continued to grow into the place it has. Absolutely love the food, market and staff. One of my top recommended places to anyone in or visiting the city.
The service was great! We had the Classic Breakfast and Mediterranean Chicken Club. The classic breakfast was great! We felt the club had too much avacado which overpowered the other flavours. Still a positive experience.
This is quickly becoming one of my favourite lunch spots in the city! The food is always great - the mediterranean chicken club and the breakfast sandwich are my two favourites, and the service is excellent. They also have a lovely little market area with ready to go meals.
Definitely gone way down hill, seems employees and managers all changed. Now you basically sit there with empty glasses and can’t order for first 15-20 mins and have to get your own menus. While you try and get their attention they just ignore you even more. Went 3 times and it was the same story each time. Management needs to be changed.
Enjoyed our food and atmosphere. However, I was disappointed when I arrived with my 8 month old and they did not have any high chairs. In a community with so many families, I was surprised they were not very accommodating to young families. Made for a difficult lunch!
I recently had dinner at ODB and while the halibut was excellent, my invisaligns were stained as a result of turmeric sneakily hiding in pea puree. The service staff were quick to investigate the reason as to why, and offer a peaceful resolution - a free cup of coffee. So, not only was my day brightened (a fluorescent yellow - sorry, had to) and I could leave without a bitter taste in my mouth (until when I picked up my black coffee). All I had to do was maintain composure and not behave poorly as a result of this mishap. The management, staff, and everything about this place rocks!
Really disappointed. We wanted to try this place out as it’s down the road from us, but the first time my husband went he brought his laptop and despite only having one other table taken, they told him he couldn’t work on his laptop there. We understood as maybe they didn’t want a table taken up for very long, although my husband had every intention of ordering food/drinks. Then, we went this morning and were first in line. We came with our baby and stood in line with a couple behind us for a few minutes. Finally a girl behind the bar said someone would be with us shortly and the girl who I assume was the hostess came by and completely blanked us and spoke with the couple behind us and gave them the last table. We stood around another several minutes before she finally approached us and without apologizing said she had spoken to the other couple and unfortunately gave them the last table so we would have to wait (the other couple came in after us and again, were behind us). So we asked if we could wait outside. She did not offer us anything to drink in the mean time. She just said something should open up shortly. After 10 minutes or so I thought I’d ask if we could just be served outside. She said no, and made sure to tell me it would still be a few minutes to wait. No apology. No offer to get us drinks while we wait. Nothing. It wasn’t cold out but it wasn’t entirely warm either. Eventually we just left. I felt like I didn’t want to give my money to a place when right off the bat the staff is unapologetically rude and dismissive. It’s a shame as I really would have loved to make that place a regular spot.
Absolutely the kindest and most wonderful service; as well, the coffee and matcha are some of the best I’ve had in town. Thank you for providing such excellent food, wine, and fun!
One of my favourite spots in the city for sure. Staff go over and above to make your experience great. Food is always fresh and delicious. Plus the variety of unique products are always fun to checkout. Highly recommend!
One of my favourite places to treat myself! Tasty treats, good vibes and unique take home meal options. Also my go to place to create unique gift boxes, love their assortment of gifts! I am always proud and excited to support local at ODB.
I'm always amazed at how delicious AND healthy the food is at ODB. I'm personally addicted to their Siracha popcorn, but I'll never say no to a delicious little latte stop either. Highly recommended, one of the best restaurants in the beltline!
Our Daily Brett is one of our favourite places in the city. Healthy and inventive food, convenient take away options, unique gift ideas and friendly service.
Absolutely rude and horrible service as well the coffee was some of the worst I've had in town. Sad that such a nice area doesn't have a better coffee shop.
Place was hoppin for my lunch time visit. Lots of unique products for sale. Had the chicken sandwich and fries for take out. Was disappointed it did not have more flavor, was well cooked and on a fresh bun.flavor was just lacking. Will try again maybe they were just to busy today.
One of my favourite spots in town! Exciting menu, great wine selection and amazing staff. One stop shop for local products and a great morning misto or mimosa:)
Fantastic food and great wine selection. Transforms seamlessly from a cozy coffee shop in the mornings to a chic restaurant with great table service at night. Such an amazing local venue.
Just to pre-face this review, I order from Our Daily Brett several times a week.
Today was the absolute worst customer experience. I came in with two friends to grab take out. The gentlemen operating the POS wasn't friendly, didn't greet us, or was engaging. Several products in the fresh market were not labeled with prices. I brought this to his attention, and he didn't even acknowledge the comment and said that the beef jerky I was holding was $7. After making our three separate orders, there was a long wait when the kitchen and bar were not busy. The same gentlemen abruptly told us to move and stand by the product wall. Wasn't very pleasant in a very condescending tone.
After waiting, another 10 minutes for my coffee I tried my gluten free coffee which was not fresh and crumbled apart in the bag. I went back to the till to exchange it, and the lovely blonde girl was more then happy to help. The gentlemen took the bag, and you could feel his distain for the situation.
After waiting even longer, we noticed the gentleman from the till circling outside smoking while looking super anxious before returning inside (not very professional in front of customers). I then approached the bar to ask about the status of my coffee. The female barista said "oh sorry, I thought it was a call in order" and then proceeded to make my drink. She was super kind and apologetic about it.
As we waited for our last item, we couldn't even hear our name be called because of where we were told to stand. The entire experience felt super jarring.
After arriving home, my friend Hunter opened up her breakfast sandwich to her dismay that it wasn't on a gluten free bun, and did not include the avocado that she paid for. She proceeded to call the restaurant and spoke to the gentlemen from the till. He told her that the Chef made the sandwich said that they were out of the "long bun" and that the bun is actually gluten free just round. "What about the missing avocado. " He proceeded to say that the Chef put avocado on her sandwich, however if you say it's not on it I'll have to believe you. He offered to leave a credit for the avocado - nothing else. No apologies. No accountability.
This entire experience left a poor tase in our mouths - literally.
BEST FOOD in town! Also the ambiance and store design is amazing?
High recommend their Fried Chicken Sandwich off their dinner menu, and just go for the fries - they are going to be one of the greatest you have ever had
+ They have an amazing selection of wines. I suggest trying one of their Orange wines
Absolutely Amazing! The food is always fresh, delicious, and handles all dietary restrictions - DF, GF, V. I Love introducing future ODBrettians to this amazing place. The staff is wonderful, very accommodating and their service is impeccable! They are my go to for every occasion - a Sunday morning brunch celebration, a weekday quick healthy lunch, a catch-up with friends - and their takeaway food and Brett's Bodega helped build an awesome care package for a grieving friend. Family dinners catered.they do that too! Seriously.do yourself a favour and check out this diamond in the rough!
My favouruite coffee shop in the Bankview Mardaloop area! The interior is beautiful and the staff is SO lovely! The menu is awesome (get the breakfast sandwich!) and they have an awesome little market of grab and go food and housewares.
ODB is the most beautifully designed space complete with a thoughtfully curated gift section featuring things like decor, candles, books, teas, cooking accoutrement, cocktail things, plus they have a fresh, well-stocked market when you need eggs, mustard or some lemons on the way out. Their food is incredible, the drinks are impeccable, and the staff is warm and friendly. What more could you want? This is my favourite spot and I bring everyone I know here!
Love the new location! The Aperol slushie! Omg. Great to grab a quick bite or something to heat up later from the ready made section. Definitely a go to for culinary gifts or stocking stuffers (Christmas is coming!).
I had a beautiful brunch there on Sunday, it was so good! The serve was great, the food amazing and the patio is just so nice. I shop here as well typically but don’t stop for dine in often, might need to change that. Living close by I love getting cute gift items, cards, food (prepare and to order). It’s like a one stop neighbourhood shop! Highly recommend!
Great food at all their locations.never disappoints, fabulous pizzas, great breakfast sandwiches and their special occasion prepared dinners are fantastic. Our Dairy Brett, neighbors cafe and Actually Pretty Good.
My friend and I had gone somewhere else for lunch originally but the service was so terrible there that we left and decided to come to Our Daily Brett instead. They did not disappoint! Quick, friendly service, incredible food and drinks, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Went here for the first time after hearing good things and seeing great pictures of their food. I wanted a good breakfast sandwich and they definitely delivered. Had a side of patats which were also delightful. Great for a nice brunch!
This is my favourite all-around restaurant in Calgary. It's a cafe, market, all-day amazing restaurant.the staff are all unbelievably friendly and generally awesome people. Great coffee, really good food, eclectic menu, unique selection of goods, frozen and ready-to-eat foods.just a gem.
Great food and good coffee especially if you like fruity drip coffee; their espresso is really good! Really friendly staff and nice patio. Is expensive, but that is expected for such a trendy place.
Yeah I used to work here, and had some bad experiences with that. Wasn't allowed to sit down and eat for my break, got told to go sit on the stairs to eat my dinner on my break. Got written up for making two negligible mistakes, and then ultimately got fired for my struggle with depression (a human rights violation), which I'd talked to them about several times prior.
I’ve tried to get in here but yet to actually get a table… I’d love to come in and give it a better review but it’s been tough and seems a bit uppity… I’ll update this review if I make it in.
A great menu with an interesting combination of flavours. Really enjoyed our meal and the coffee was fine. Overall exceeded all expectations and will be going back. Nice to have a restaurant like this with the added selection of foodstuff and packaged meals to shop and take home.
Healthy and tasty choices of food from breakfast to dinner, beer & wine, in a pleasant, soothing ambience. This inner city gem with its friendly staff, is a "go to" place.
