The facility has Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and many Intel i7 computers (I don't know which generation) with Nvidia RTX 3080Ti. There is also a very high-quality headset, mostly from SteelSeries. There is a discount every Sunday, 4 hours for 15CAD, on weekdays, 4 hours for 24CAD. There are ready-made accounts for each game, but you can also play from your own. If you play for 2 hours and want to leave, you can log out of your account (which is responsible for your session) and play the remaining 2 hours on your next visit. Went there several times to play with friends in the company, we were all satisfied with the gaming sessions at this place.
Been to this establishment since 2016, and it’s been awesome! But lately, experience has not been so great. Brought my friend to Over klocked for her first time recently. And there’s this group of people who are loud and obnoxious who are ruining our experience whenever come here to just get some games in. It’s the same group, not respecting the space, being loud, smashing the mouses and keyboards when they rage and vaping inside. There was also a time my friend came by herself here to game and the same group surrounded her and dry humped her chair making her extremely uncomfortable so she left. If management is not going to do anything about this group, it just makes me wonder for other gamers that are women what they might experience if they come to game by themselves here when this group is around.
We’ve asked nicely multiple times for them to quiet down the volume, and they always start shouting at us.
Andrew at the front desk has been nothing but excellent in making sure our experience is great!
Hope management takes a look into this or we’re definitely going to find a different place to game at.
Friendly staff, great environment. Very affordable price with tons of fun events throughout the year! If you are looking for a gaming cafe. I highly recommend this one!
Best gaming cafe I've ever been to! Set ups are amazing and the ambiance is so nice. Best staff, I love the cleanliness and keyboards as well, very colorful. And amazing affordability and such a nice place to chill at!
Worst tournament experience.people around us were loud and whats nice their voice echoes through our voice chat
so imagine someone screaming at your ear, hearing it twice, hearing the chaotic audio from your game, and trying to listen for your teammates callouts.lovely right?
the staff did not care much and only did the minimum effort to address these problems. I don't blame them since they are probably not paid well
my favourite part is that they let people smoke weed inside.my whole team were affected heavily that our reaction time were slower, our eyes were wattery, and my head is still high from typing this review and holding the puke right now
These guys after 20 years are still great. I forget things there all the time and it never goes missing the staff are extremely professional and helpful, and your time never expires came back to 3 hours left from when I was a kid! Great spot for starter e-sports professionals and veterans alike.
Decided to try this gaming cafe out on a whim. Turned out to be one of the most fun experiences we had while in town! Everyone at the front desk was very welcoming and the check-in was quick and easy.
Rates are very reasonable and the place is well maintained. Equipment was clean, and no issues arose while gaming. Compared to the gaming cafes we’ve been to in the U. S.this one definitely exceeded our expectations, and then some.
Top of the line PC’s Very comfortable chairs Fair rates Quiet, chill atmosphere Friendly, helpful staff Good variety of drinks which are also fairly priced
I had a great time at OverKlocked Gaming with my friends. The computers are very fast and powerful, and they have a huge selection of games to choose from.
The computers there are really good especially playing Rust, League, Valorant, and Rainbow Six Siege. Me and my family gamed for 3 hours we enjoyed our time here as the McDonalds was really close and ate when we were playing. This is a great place if you just want to play video games and escape reality.
Best and only PC gaming cafe in all of Alberta. There used to be a couple smaller similar places in the province, one named the Node in Calgary and another in Spruce Grove called Gaming Dungeon both of which costed more, closed earlier and are now closed down anyways. Only comparable place currently operating in the province is Super Smash Cafe in Calgary, a place that costs more with a better food menu, more variety of old school console games but no PC’s though. Overklocked could step up their food game but the place still has some food and snacks, as well as dozens of PC’s, console gaming, opens earlier and stays open later, also has tournaments and events, plus cheap nights on Tuesdays. Other than Bartari in Saskatchewan, which is far more like Super Smash Cafe, the only places comparable to Overklocked in Western Canada are on the Pacific Coast around Vancouver.
The lack of restrictions for controlling noise levels in the area, I like the place, but some people there can lack consideration for other people who are just playing. Yelling is one of many things.
Great place with a nice snack selection. However, the cleanliness can be downright horrific at times. I once found food encrusted onto the microphone of a headset and I did not notice until I put it on and the stench of what smelled like a McDonald's dumpster invaded my nostrils. This is no fault of the management as I understand how difficult it can be keeping up with so many people for such long hours at once, especially during peak hours but please.wash your hands and wipe your mouths after you eat guys.
