Owl's Nest Books - Brand-new books, old-fashioned service

I attended a book launch at this location. I was impressed by the variety of books and gifts. Bought books myself, happy to help a local business.

This is an adorable little bookshop. It holds a ton of great books, mostly new and has some great deals and sales. One thing I love is they group books that are part of a series together and sort them in order. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the 3rd book in a series alone in a store with none of the ones that came before it! Staff is also extremely nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

One of the last independent bookstores in the city. Please, make the effort to go buy from here. You will get excellent service from people who love what they do. They can get the same thing for the same price as Amazon and you are helping a local shop.

Love their kind and understanding service! I had trouble finding a more uncommon book and a reasonable shipping fee but Owl's Nest Books does the shipping for free (if in Calgary, that is). We desperately needs these independent bookstores that have this order service. For example, Indigo and Chapters can only pull out the books they have in their warehouse.
I can't express how grateful I am to these staff for their fast and dedicated effort in solving their clients' problems. Now that I've discovered this way of ordering books, I'll be sure to use it in the future! Many thanks!

I love this book store and the staff. We get great recommendations and can always find a great read here. It’s a perfect bookshop to spend an hour or two building up your seasonal reading stock.:)

Experiences here have always been positive. Staff are helpful. Customer service experiences have always been good. They'll order in anything and deliver it free over a certain price point. The website is straightforward to use too. Worth supporting. I shall continue to get books here and would encourage anyone to try it as a more local bookstore option.

I ordered three books online recently and had a couple special requests with the order. They answered right away and were extremely professional and helpful. The delivery was fast and efficient, definitely will be continuing to support this store and recommending it to friends!

They were very helpful when you contact them about your order! I ordered 4 books and although one hasn't arrived yet (I ordered one that was on backorder so that's not their fault) the 3 books that did arrive, came quickly and in great condition! Definitely gonna order more from this store.

I love Owls Nest Books! Their online shop is so user friendly, it tells you how many copies they have in store and you can preorder or special order pretty much any book (I have yet to search for one they aren’t able to get)! Their Calgary delivery or in store pickup is so convenient and I can always rely on them when I am in need of a physical book.

Nice and helpful staff. If they don't have what you were looking for in stock, they can order it. I will be returning more often as it's a nice little shop.

I read the reviews about this place and I was excited to shop here. Walked in, told them what I was looking for. They looked it up and said “nope. We dont have it”. I noticed the price on the computer was $29.99. I stood there waiting for them to offer to order it for me. The offer was never extended, so I walked out.

I’m trying to support local, but i went on amazon and found 2 books in the series i wanted for $16.62.

Not impressed. Too bad.

I got the urge to read some Harry Potter at midnight last night and impulse ordered some books! To my great delight, my beautiful books arrived just after 10 am, less than 12 hours later! Astonished and thrilled with Owl's Nest Books

Well stocked, with a staff that really works hard to help the local writing community. An excellent venue and shop.

Easily my favorite book store. The atmosphere in the book store is inviting and comforting, much like a favourite wing backed chair by a crackling fire. Anyone and everyone who is keen on supporting a local business has to add this store to their list of staples.
