Always amazing, picked up a lovely book on Arthurian myths. The two individuals working the counter that day were very helpful. (Also it’s a lovely place to stop on a hot day, the basement is very cool)
Easily my favourite book store. I could spend hours in the basement. Great environment and nice staff, with a rewards program that actually feels worth it
A very atmospheric place with an interesting selection of books, reminiscent of an old library and has a lot of entourage decorations. The second floor is filled with various decorations, for example, an old typewriter that you just want to touch until you see the inscription "Do not touch", huh.
Favorite local bookstore. The staff is wonderful and always recommends the best books for my nieces and me. Always leave with more than I planned, haha.
One of the best bookstores in the city. You'll find books here that aren't available in larger branches like indigo. It also has a used section in the basement that is usually quite large with really great deals.
The kind of store you go into looking for one specific thing, and come out with an armload of books. Comfortable, cozy, and full of amazing books to discover.
The quintessential neighborhood bookshop. Always a treat to just stop in and browse. And some how they manage to have 3 times as many books as should realistically fit. It's just perfectly adorable and a Calgary treasure.
Probably my favorite place in calgary! They have a wide selection of books both classic and contemporary. Lots of different editions for paperbacks and hardcovers alike. My favorite part is probably their non-fiction selections. I’m more of a novel reader myself but the non-fiction books at this store are so diverse that I couldn’t help but pick up a few. Art, history, films, comic books, you name it. They have it all! There’s a basement for used books with very affordable price. And you can find a few gems down there Oh and also they have cool tote bags that reference classic lit too! Overall, very nice bookstore and would be coming here pretty often
My favourite book store in Calgary. So cute and cozy and they even have a used books section in the basement. Such amazing variety and cheap priced. The new books selections itself are also amazing. Some, you can never find in indigo and only online. A beautiful book nook for the fellow bookworms:)
The best bookstore in Calgary! The main floor is stocked with new books of all genre, and the manga section is worth checking out! And the basement - oh, it's a treasure trove! Used and bargain books housed in the basement are a treat for any avid reader. They also carry cool accessories (socks, bookmarks, enamel pins, tote, etc) at Pages!
Store wasn’t very organized and the manager/supervisor was scalding the staff in front of customers and it was super awkward to be shopping and hearing that. Then later the staff member was talking loudly about closing early as they didn’t want to be there. We felt uncomfortable and left.
Super cute bookstore with an amazing selection of books you might not think to look for. Also who doesn't love the hidden movie theatre in the basement.
The setting is really nice, a lot of choices especially in ecological reading.little bonus there is a selection of books in French! You have to go there if you are walking in Kensington:)
PAGES IS FANTASTIC. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is a great blend of used and new books. The new books seem to be thoughtfully selected. The store itself is an interesting space and every nook is full of extras like book bags and journals. The hours are good and the website is helpful. I highly recommend!
What a wonderfully quiet little treasure in Kensington! If you are in the area, you should totally pop in there for a wander amongst all their stories. There is a used section in the basement where there are many gems to discover.
The charm this store has is unbeatable, as soon as I walked in I felt a sense of wonder and couldn't wait to explore! The selection of books is amazing and I originally went in to pick up an order, but couldn't help admiring every part of this bookstore. The staff was also very kind and helpful, and I left with my hefty book order, another gem I found while exploring, and a want to go back!
I could come here just to soak in the atmosphere. If you love books, this is your heaven on earth. We came here for something specific today however, and we didn't leave empty handed! We couldn't find the book in question ourselves, but the lady we asked knew exactly where to find it. Amazing.
Excellent independent bookstore in Kensington shopping district. Loads of new books on main level and upper floor; used books in the basement. Highly recommend!
The curator of the shelves in this bookstore has good taste. Pick a shelf at random and there's a good shot that you'll find a great book on it. If you're looking for a gift for someone, try this place out. They've somehow managed to stuff a little something for everyone into this small space.
I loved coming here before COVID and even now they're a gift to have close by. The free local delivery is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and even ordering stuff in doesn't take very long. I bought a book on Saturday night and had it in my hands by Tuesday afternoon, for FREE. Take that, Amazon!
Great local book store selling new and used books. Always helpful in finding a great new read and suggestions are spot on. Staff are lovely and very helpful.
It is a very cute store with a different mix of books than your big box stores. The person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I will be going back.
What an amazing store, I can't believe how low priced the used books are and they're often in fantastic condition! I love their quaint setup down the stairs it was like an adventure pulling a book from the bottom of a stack and just such a fun experience working your way down to the basement. The lovely guy at the register was so helpful too, he helped me find some books in a series and even helped with a bag because I bought more than I was intending to, the staff here are amazing. I loved this book buying trip and I'll definitely be back there more often.
I made my first - but certainly not last - visit to Pages a couple of months ago. I was on the hunt for the original Nancy Drew books and found quite a few in excellent/like new condition, for a reasonable price! I was elated to find the books and felt valued by the friendly staff. What a treasure of a bookshop!
Find hidden gems within this gem! Wonderful store with a basement full of used treasures. Staff is very friendly and happy to chat and will go above and beyond to try and help you find that beloved read.
Love Pages. They are a mainstay local business with great service and a great selection of books. I am spending a lot of time at home right now due to the epidemic and Pages delivered right to my door, when I ordered online. They are speedy, friendly, and well-priced compared to other booksellers. I will definitely purchase through them again! One of the best small business bookstores in town! Thanks, guys!
Always makes me feel like I actually teleported somewhere special. Amazing selection, so many heirloom quality books. And they still have the Witcher novels in stock, while no one else does.
Fast international delivery (arrived a few days before the earliest predicted date), safe packing, good price (I bought used Marvel Masterworks: Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 5) and condition as described. I bought the book on AbeBooks.
Super helpful staff, they can remember me even if i only come once yearly and they will always know what i am talking about when i ask for a book reviewed by or an author interviewed on cbc.
As always, the best service - two staff spent twenty minutes with me trying to find "the perfect books" as gifts for Christmas. They were so patient and helpful even as I turned away ideas! Gift shopping is hard but this was so much fun!
Only gave it 3 stars because I didn't get to experience the customer service part. We looked around that's pretty much it. But the store has a neat vibe to it. Loved how the book shelves reached all the way up to the ceiling. Very beautiful little book store
