Food was great and there is also a wide range of drinks to choose from! Staff all extremely friendly and service from Camila was excellent. Thanks guys!
Fries soggy meat cold turkey shredded if it arrived meat warm fries not soggy salt not wilted would have probably been good. Uber eats guy put sald in hot bag made an extra stop took an hour to deliver the fries wouldn't be soggy in a separate box
Food was good bbq, others in group loved the meatloaf. Sausage was excellent, ribs were fall off bo es tender, cornbread very good. Loud, difficult to hold conversation
Great service! The Alberta Beef Brisket was 7/10, taste was good but the texture was on the chewier side. The Pitboss Burger was 8/10. Definitely order the bacon wrapped corn cobs as your fixins
Good place for some beers and good food! The brisket is always amazing! The other cuts of meat can be a little dry, though the sauces can make up for it.
The place has a smokehouse vibe with the decor. I was visiting from Toronto and came across the place near my hotel. It was the rib special night so I tried them. I thought they were very, very good but not great. They were not fall off the bone tender like I like them. But that is a preference thing. The taste was excellent and they were well prepared. The waitress was excellent.
10/10 if I could click 10 stars I would. First time in Calgary & to this restaurant. AMAZING! Great service, delicious food! Highly recommend! Get the Brisket!
In my short time in Calgary I have grown very fond of this place. The staff are down to earth, friendly, and don't steer you wrong when you ask for suggestions on what's good to eat. It's not hard when all of the food is super tasty. If it's your first time going, get the ribs. Literally meat candy!
Awesome BBQ place that gives you generous portions of meat with your order along with great sides. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming as well. Go in if you have a BBQ craving when in downtown.
First time ordering from Palomino as we were craving some ribs on a friday night. The delivery was slow so the food was not as warm which is understandable and no fault on Palomino.
We ordered a full rack of ribs, half rack of smoked and rubbed ribs, mac and cheese and corn bread. Overall not shabby. The flavor from the sauce and rub on the ribs were very very good, but the amount of meat on the half rack was very limited. The full rack was much better for meat but the meat was alittle dry and not as fall off the bone as i would have liked.
The mac and cheese was just ok, nothing to really make it stand out. It could use a different mix of flavors for it to pop and stand out from other mac and cheeses in town.
The cornbread was fairly good. Soft, moist and had decent flavor.
Overall not to bad. We would love to vist and try the food in house but we may not order for delivery again. Thanks for friday dinner Palomino!
Second time I've ordered lunch from Palomino in the last month. The Alberta cheesesteak is amazing, the brisket is smoked perfectly. First time having the bacon wrapped corn, but definitely not the last. So yummy! Highly recommend Palomino
One of my favourite places in the city. Their brisket and bacon-wrapped corn is to die for, and I love that so much of their menu is naturally gluten free (including all of their BBQ sauces). Staff are awesome, ambience is awesome. A must-go for Calgarians and tourists alike!
From an afternoon/ after work perspective.it is relaxed atmosphere with no pretension. Dress up, dress down, be you, whatever.everyone is welcome. Rustic and casual with some groove factor. Amazing food too (especially for carnivores). Very friendly service and decent/ funky/ multi- genre background music. Happy hour prices are good. Starts at 3: 00 PM and not a bad selection. You get your basic bevies here.nothing fancy. Convenient location for the downtown crowd. LRT right there.
Decent food and drinks at a very casual place. Good for a quick bite. I wouldn’t say the best brisket I ever had by any stretch. We went in on a Sunday and sat in the patio they have out back. Service was ok, brisket was kind of dry. The venue could use some renovations as it is dated. Crowds can vary from cool kids with skateboards to average couples in for a beer.
Bbq? Late nite rock n roll? Or just some tasty cocktails? This place has it all, and excels in all 3! A perfect place to catch a Sled Island show, eat some fall off the bone ribs, and wash it all down with a tasty tall can. I’ve been fortunate to see some great bands downstairs, so check your listings to see what’s upcoming.
If you like eclectic and varied musical styles mixed with mouth watering BBQ then this place is for you. Patio is amazing and the basement is a grunge-experience all it's own
The good: quirky place, great staff, big bbq in the restaurant, beer and great hard bar selection. Very decent caesar salad lol. The bad: ordered the meat platter, expecting smoked meat, i was disappointed with the meat. Either not smoked or not smoked properly.
Conclusion, food was still decent, but not what i thought. Bacon wrapped corn! Was expecting more of the food given the look at the place. The online reviews in my opinion were high for what we had.
If you are visiting Calgary and want somewhere that oozes Calgary, you need to check this place out. The smell of the smoker, the live music, the decor are awesome. The food is fantastic and you can get some classic BBQ like brisket and Spolumbos sausage.
Casual dining. Server was fast and efficient. One order was good for two of us to share. Garlic fries as a side is really good and I wish they were more generous with it. Brisket and ribs were good.
Always a must when I'm in Calgary. The pulled pork, garlic fries, and bacon wrapped corn on the cob are my favorites and truthfully are my go-to's when I eat here.
Amazing food, service is a teeeeny bit slow I have found, however the staff are super friendly and polite. I highly recommend if you are downtown Calgary and in need of delicious bbq.
Absolute gem. May have THE best fries I’ve ever had, crunchy on the outside while the inside felt like it was objected with creamy mash potatoes. Corn bread is to die for. The place has an old timey western pub feel, and is explicitly lgbtq+ friendly.
The place is a little grungy but that’s obviously what they are going for and it just works for a smokehouse. Food was great and the service was pretty good as well. Definitely recommend!
Had the half smoked chicken and it was great! Well sauced and slow smoked to perfection. Place gets busy busy at lunch time so get there early, make a reso, or, play roulette!
Pretty cool combo of a dive bar and BBQ place. We had a few drinks and I must say the pulled pork nachos were insanely good. Pretty cool vibe here and the bartenders seemed pretty good.
Has some seating downstairs when u see shows but place is not super accessible for disabled folks, i had to use a normal stall there wasnt an accessible one
