I had Fraxel Laser done with Nicole Whiteside 7 days ago. Nicole did an amazing job, she went over the pigmentations on my face multiple times to make sure I get good results. I've done Fraxel at other clinic before and the results wasn't as good. I can tell you that Nicole is the best!

This was my first visit to Papillon Medical Dermatology and I really appreciated the professionalism and friendly faces that greeted me. Dr. Watanabe was great and took the time to answer my questions and explain. Not only did I get into see the doctor on time, it was a few minutes ahead of schedule. The follow up call with my results was prompt and the call was from the doctor and she took the time to ask if I had any questions. I would certainly recommend this location in downtown Calgary, Alberta. Very positive experience.

I had laser treatment for rosacea by Dr. Fourie and ended up numerous scars on my cheeks that are very noticeable, upsetting and permanent. Horrible results. I had the same treatment from other doctors with good results but Dr Fourie’s treatment gave me scars. Not recommended.

As a follow up to Meri’s comment below, I am indeed a patient and have spoken to Meri and nothing has come of it. I have continued to try other methods to diminish or even reduce the scars without success. Frustrating to say the least.

Had my treatment done by Bretton and she was amazing. She’s very knowledgeable and patient. She answers any and all questions and makes the appointment as comfortable as possible. She did a great job and the procedure went smoothly. I would highly recommend her for any Botox or filler treatments

Dr Buys is extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable I would highly recommend this practice.

I was referred to Dr. Swiegers for removal of a bump on my scalp. She was so patient and kind, especially when I almost fainted in the chair! Her care for me was wonderful and I really appreciated it.
The office was very clean and professional. I understand now why they were so consistently busy.

Came here for opinion on skin hyperpigmentation from one of their general doctors who has a special interest in these conditions. She was excellent. Took the time to explain everything throughly and gave every treatment option. Front end was also outstanding - not too pushy on purchasing their products and gave affordable alternatives.

I made the mistake of seeing Dr Alisha Rai for a skin growth. My experience was awful and I was left with a scar and disfigurement. I was seen for 3-5 min max each time and I felt rushed without being provided with adequate care. I was treated with a laser standing up (I wasn't even asked to lie down) and Dr Rai could not care less. Unfortunately, I am now left with a scar that is bigger and the growth still there after 5 treatments.

Apart from the negative experience with this one doctor, I found the clinic to be extremely clean and the staff and manager very responsive and friendly.

I got a chance to be treated by Dr. Alisha Rai, and she is absolutely amazing. She is respectful, consistent, and knowledgeable. My treatment took a lot of time and almost every previous doctor had lost their hope, but Dr. Rai remained consistent and hopeful. She answered my queries, was always on time, has an extremely professional etiquette, and respected my choices.
The clinic is clean. Nurses and staff are welcoming and professional. There is literally no waiting time.

I took my daughter for a wort removal. I was blown away by how quick and painless it was. The dermatologist was kind and gentle, she made sure my daughter wasn't scared but instead calm and relaxed, she was very thorough, explain the aftercare etc. (Also looked like a movie star, very professional classy atmosphere) highly recommend.

I generally don't write reviews, but was so impressed with my experience at Papillon I felt I had to.
I have lived in different provinces over the years, during this time I have seen many different dermatologists. The experience I had at Papillon was by far the best.
I arrived for my appointment early, so waited in a very clean and stylish waiting room. What I noticed during my wait was how kind and helpful the front staff were.
I was then brought into the exam room where I met Dr Swiegers for the first time. Dr Swiegers was so warm and professional, I instantly felt comfortable with her. I had a skin check done for multiple moles and sun spots, the exam was so comprehensive and thorough. She explained everything to me and ensured I had all my questions answered. I did have a biopsy of a suspicious area which naturally I was nervous about. Dr Swiegers called me at home with the results as soon as she had them (thankfully good news).
Such a great experience from beginning to end. From the front staff to a gem of a doctor, this clinic is by far the best there is.

As someone in the medical field, I am consistently impressed with the care I receive from Papillon. I appreciate that I was able to self refer for dermatological concerns as I was having trouble getting a timely referral, and Dr. Watanabe has been absolutely life changing. She was able to diagnose a concern I’ve been dealing with for over 10 years, and she followed up with me personally by phone to review all results. I am so thankful to her, because she literally saved me from a life long chronic illness. The other staff are wonderful as well, always cheerful and professional. I can not praise Dr. Fourie enough. I have been dealing with skin problems and cysts for 15 years and have met with countless dermatologist, and he just knocks all of their diplomas off the walls.

He is a genuine human who cares about patients well being and addresses all concerns, weather they are in his field or not. All of the staff makes you feel warm, welcome and comfortable in dealing with sensitive areas.

Felt very relaxed and confident in their competency. Very professional but also personable. Thoroughly recommended!

Dr Watanabe provided personal, hands-on care, checking me carefully and up-close, even during the pandemic (with all due precautions), for skin cancer. Then she made sure I was informed of the results as soon as they were available. I could not ask for more.

It is a pleasure place to go. I have been there twice to removal of potential hazards of skin tumors based on my family doctor's recommendations. The reception team is warm and courtesy. Dr. Fourie is a nice man with bunch of skills and experience. Only regret was not get all I wanted done on my 2nd visit recently. But he promised me that I can come back when the mole on my back neck get worse. It is hard for me to monitor that because the spot is out of my vision.

Dr Allan Behm has been my dermatologist for 25 years (not that i see him often, but a few visits over the 25 years time span). He is an ocean of knowledge on all dermatology illness and each time I had some new problems, he just immediately jumped into action for treatment (not saying he can treat all problems, but saying he seems to be old enough to know most problems). I really like him!

I could not have asked for more compassionate, prompt attention from Dr. Watanabe, and the entire staff at Papillon Medical, when my son had a melanoma scare. Kind, thorough and professional; I am grateful we are patients at this wonderful medical centre.

Really enjoy working with the ladies here. I have only been a couple times but I felt in safe hands and had all the info I needed. Great place for your dermatology needs!

The reception staff are polite and courteous, not officious and demanding like so many people are in this Wuhan Flu environment. And all the nurse and the doctors are punctual, a simple but unfortunately rarely found commodity in the medical community. Thanks.

Every time I visit Papillon for my skin care I feel and see that all the staff are professional and they are very efficient. I usually arrive 5-10 minutes prior to my appointment which is always on time and I’m out and in my way in no time. Always a good experience.

I honestly have to say this was the most dehumanizing experience i have ever had at any Dr office.
I was referred by a Dr for skin tag removal in some sensitive areas.
The Dr had a non medical professional in the room looking at areas i wasn't comfortable with. Since she wasn't a medical professional herself.
I do realize I am overweight but I wasn't at their office for weightloss just skin tags.
The Dr made sure I knew I was overweight (not like I can't see that in the mirror)
The reason I was there didn't get addressed.
I had a few skin tag removed and then she wanted to me come back in two weeks for another appointment?
No thank you
They also seem very pushy with selling their products at the office then more concerned with the actual reason for your visit.

It was just a simple procedure to remove a small growth on my back but the service was great and Dr. Fourie did an excellent job. A much better experience than provided by my previous dermatologist. Would highly recommend Dr. Foutie and his staff in both offices. Thanks

Very prompt on time professional service. I got my foot fixed which I was booked in for. Needed another dermatologist to look at a cyst and they accommodated that need at the same time. Only had to wait about 15 minutes for another doctor. Saves the time of going back downtown when you live way south. I would recommend Dr Fourie or Dr Thomson to anyone. Everyone working there was very very busy but polite and on time!

Was a short visit felt I was just handed a prescription and told try this without having any of my questions answered, so I made a fallow up to get my questions answered and after second appointment left more fusterated then first appointment this place is not recommended

I write this recommendation for Dr. Thomson Julie dermatology services.

After having a really bad experience at a local walk in clinic, which actually caused my illness to get worse since they prescribed me the wrong medications and misdiagnosed me.

I ended up going to my family Doctor. My family Doctor stated it would be best to be referred to Dr. Thompson (dermatologist).
I was lucky to have met Dr. Thomson, she quickly knew the exact illness I had based on her experience and ordered lab tests.

The results came in quickly and they were able to successfully treat my illness.

I am forever grateful for Dr Thomson as she helped me get the correct treatment, after successfully diagnosing me.

I wish more physicians would be like her and take the time to find out the true illness before making assumptions.

As a busy person, she has saved countless hours of time and stress by helping me with my illness.

I have attended the wart clinic at Papillon for many months now, having liquid nitrogen and laser treatments. Dr Alisha Rai has been wonderful, very kind and caring. She is also very efficient, and I am generally in and out of the office in 10 minutes or less. I would highly recommend Dr Rai, especially if you have children with warts that need to be treated. The front office staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Front staff are efficient and friendly! Nurse was great! Doctor was in within 2 minutes of me sitting down in office. Very friendly and informative! In and out of the building in less than 10 minutes! The freezing/layering was exactly as the doctor said! Absolutely fantastic experience! Why cant everyone be this happy to work!

Recently I got diagnosed with Melanoma and I went to see Dr. Leica Buys, the appointment was only for 30 minutes but she considered that we drove from Saskatoon to Calgary and given her extra time and done the work which required another appointment. I am thankful for that. And also the front staff is very helpful!

Dr. Stella, has treated me for years. For cosmetic and necessary removal of moles, possibly suspicious melanoma.

I went at the clinic in the month of March because of Melasma on my face. The technician there told me to go for microneedling. They are expensive and she also gave me few products to apply on my face. After first sitting of microneedling I told the technician that this is not working on my skin. She insisted I should come for another session of microneedling cause it will give results. I went back
there. Same story. NO IMPROVEMENT. By this time my face had gone worst cause I developed more patches on my face, my skin had become thin and I I called the technician again stating this is not working.she insisted I should try some plasma therapy but this will take up all the rest of the amount I have pending. I went for it. Again, No result. Worst part is after the plasma treatment, technician asked me for 100 $ and when I questioned it why? She said oh.you don't
need to pay. I feel if they know something is not working on certain people, they should refund their money back rather than making their faces worst. I am never going back there again. I had such a bad experience cause they need to realise when someone come to your clinic they have shown faith in you but if you guys only think about keeping their money and not showing genuine concern towards them. Who would like to come back to your location?

Removed a painful seborrheic keratosis and did a biopsy on it since apparently they're not supposed to be painful and there was also some hyperpigmentation. Came back negative and there is no longer any pain. 10/10 Very professional and knowledgeable people here.

If you have received a medical referral to this clinic, please go to the Okotoks location or anywhere else. If you have an aesthetic treatment booked or are looking at booking one, I sincerely hope you consider going elsewhere, though reading some of the more positive reviews, you may have better luck. This clinic should not be taking medical referrals, or they need to seriously re-evaluate their standard of care. They rescheduled my first appt after I was already at the clinic, were extremely (1hr+) late to the rescheduled appt, and rushed through it when they did see me. They provided treatment as in “I wasn’t rescheduled a second time” so I have to give them at least one star.but during my appt they dismissed my concerns (and those of my family Dr), tried to upsell me on the treatment I had actually come in for, and sent me on my way. Trusting them (as doctors) but still feeling uneasy, I ended up going to the Okotoks clinic. They were concerned (as both my Dr and I were) -and lo and behold found pre-cancer cells in the biopsy (that this clinic had refused to do without private payment). All-in-all a really unpleasant experience. I was looking into aesthetic treatment but will be avoiding this place like the plague knowing what little regard they treat patients with and how dismissive they are when you aren’t receptive to their high-pressure sales tactics.

Dr Smith was awesome and I felt like she really understood the troubling parts of having acne as a young adult. So far I'm really happy with my course of treatment!

Met with Dr Thomson to get some moles checked. This was covered by my provincial healthcare. She gets right to business, no fluff with her, she even sent me a research article on Vitamin D. Will definitely be back for follow up appointments.

Nicole is an expert in laser hair removal and I recommend her for everyone! She is so knowledgeable and makes me feel very comfortable during the treatments. She is so thorough and I saw incredible results after just one appointment. I find Papillon's prices to be fair and of equal value to the service provided, especially with Nicole being the one providing the treatment. I'm very happy with the results so far! If you are going here some medical advice from Dr Behm, try elsewhere. He seems mostly retired and uninterested in any real issues. He will say he doesn't really know what the skin issue may be, and just offer to laser it off. That's not the approach I want in a medical professional.

I had a lip filler and botox treatment done and i couldn’t be happier! Front staff was very professional and helpful. Dr Thomson was extremely knowledgeable and did a fantastic job! She talked me through the treatment which helped as i was nervous.not only was the treatment itself great, the results are amazing! Stella is thee best medical aesthetician I have EVER been too. As common as botox, fillers and threading are becoming, you should always do your research. I go to her twice annually and basically tell her to do whatever she thinks needs to be done until I see her again. I am never overdone. My face and forehead still moves, so I look natural and youthful. We have done a broad spectrum of treatments and I have come out a winner every single time. I have 100% faith in recommending her to anyone. She also has a free consultation, so you can always go for a meet and greet and have a plan mapped out. I cannot say enough good things about her.
