Great service at a reasonable cost! Dr. Nedra is amazing! Very professional and competent. I Highly recommend them! They took care very well of our cats!

The vets here are amazing and really care about the animals. They have gone above and beyond taking care of a tricky injury on my dog. They are often very busy, but I would be worried about any vet that isn't busy these days. You pets are in good hands here.

Took my baby in and I couldn’t be happier. Dr.lisa I think her name was, was amazing. She was so kind and so patient with my fur baby. I’m also nervous with vet visits and she was truly the best.

I have been taking my dogs to Park West for the past 15 years. They are knowledgable, thorough and accommodating, and they truly care about your companions. The clinic is spacious and clean and also offers grooming services.

From the moment being greeted by the pleasant receptionist, check-in by the veterinary technician, and having our sick dog assessed by Dr. Lisa, we knew we made the right choice when looking for a clinic.

We did our research before coming from Ontario. It's not an easy choice considering you're not familiar with the area.

Our lab got really sick during the flight and relocation process. The entire staff took care of him. They were very compassionate, empathetic, and Dr. Lisa took very good care of our dog.

Definitely recommend Parkwest Pet Clinic.

You won’t find a better group of pet people than this. They have taken care of my dog Daisy and I for over 14 years and she is always excited to go visit them!

I’m always treated very fairly with my bills, and I trust their advice with my dog that I love a crazy amount. It feels like they like her as much as me.

It was very sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Finyak. He was a great vet. We saw Dr. Lisa & she was amazing with Lexi. Couldn't be happier with the service they provide.

We have been shown compassion and understanding by the Vet at a time we are experiencing great sadness as our elderly cat and much loved pet is nearing the end of her well lived life.

Amazing as always. I was very sad to hear about the passing of Dr. Finyak. He was an amazing vet and treated my dogs since they were puppies. It’s always nice to see the older staff, Dr. Petrut, Karen and Chantelle. Looking forward to seeing Dr. Chaouachi in the future.

Parkwest vet has exceptional customer service. Very friendly and knowledgeable they went the extra mile. I was very happy with my appointment and rates are affordable. Highly recommend!

My cat was throwing up and couldn't keep even water down. She was close to dying. Brought her here and they noticed she had eaten string. They stayed overtime for hours to do surgery on her. They kept us informed during the procedure. And did checkups on her afterward. She's completely back to normal. I'm very grateful for this place. They saved her life.

I would give them 6 stars if I could. Dr. Petrut is a professional in all aspects; he cares very much for pets, is very knowledgeable, takes time to explain everything in detail, and always tries to minimize costs. We previously went to a nearby animal hospital and they were always vague and inconclusive in everything they said, and their answer was generally more testing (and more $$$).
One of our pets recently was diagnosed with a tumor. In trying to diagnose her, the previous vets wanted to do x-rays and ultrasound, both at extra cost, but they couldn't tell me which was better to do and why. I had to question them to try and determine which was best to try first, and finally decided on an x-ray which showed nothing so we were under the belief she was okay.
Dr. Petrut included an ultrasound in a very inexpensive examination without question. When I asked him about doing an x-ray, he was very clear that ultrasound was the right test to do - he was right, it showed the tumor clearly.
The previous vet was very vague and hesitant to put our old dog under anesthetic. Dr. Petrut assured us he had put many dogs of all ages under anesthesia without a single incident. Obviously, he couldn't guarantee anything but he was very clear on the odds which allowed us to make a more confident decision.
Then we had different recollections of how much he said the surgery would cost, and after checking his notes, he discounted our bill without a second thought, even though I assured him it was okay.
Another of our pets had an issue that the previous vet couldn't figure out and wanted to do more tests ($$$). I described the situation to Dr. Petrut and he knew right away what it likely was and he instantly knew how to find out cheaply and within a few hours - he was right again.
As well, his staff are always friendly and welcoming and also explain everything as best they can. 6 stars.

The vet was decent. But i would not recommend their grooming. They shaved my samoyed's butt so bad. It was like the shape of a heart when i picked her up. And big!
I will find someone else for next time.

Our Retriever Cross sliced his back paw open while we were away and we took him to the closest vet near the community we were at. 2 Weeks later the poor dog's paw was starting to become infected and inflamed. We were fortunate to get an appointment at Parkwest with Dr. John Petrut. He took the time to cleanse the wound, bandage and prescribe more antibiotics. He also gave us proper info on how to care for the wound and had our dog back 2 more times to insure his wound was healing. Dr. Petrut did this at a very reasonable cost and we are so very impressed with the care our dog received. We would highly recommend Dr. Petrut and a big shout out to the vet tech Camryn for her help and patience.

I was told to go elsewhere three weeks after my first cat died.

I was with Parkwest Veterinary Clinic for the 7 years, since I adopted a 2 year old male with anxiety. When he was 4, I got him a kitten as a companion. The kitten adored him but had many health issues from day one, as well as ear mites and worms to start.

The younger was taken to the vet and treated at least three times a year and often more. Occasionally at exams I would opt to think about medicating and the vet had always said I could return for the meds without an exam fee.

In December the elder cat passed (saddle thrombus). His younger brother almost immediately began chewing his fur out, and eventually his feet bloody. I took him to Parkwest three weeks after the elder passed as I had an outstanding option for a steroid shot without exam.

As this was during covid, speaking to the vet was done via phone while he treated my cat. It should be noted the attending vet was not my regular vet, who was either busy or off. When he gave me the price I said I’d been told no exam would be needed if I chose to get the shot.

The vet put me on hold and returned to say he’d “spoken to management” and they weren’t going to charge me but that they “didn’t think they could help [my cat] here”. I confirmed I was being dropped as a client and basically expressed how shocked I was that they would do this after we just lost his brother. It should be noted the practice would have received a record of his passing from the hospital.

I proceeded to spend thousands of dollars seeing other vets, emergency vets, and folks who just didn’t have his history. I’ve gone through what’s been saved to Parkwest’ records and they in no way reflect the treatment received as well as contain minimal notes, typos, spelling and grammatical errors. No prices. The attending vet flat out lied about what was said in the final transaction, saying it was a "mutual decision" and advising he would transfer my files to whoever (never mentioned). I also found a receipt for someone else’s pet, including their personal info.

I strongly advise anyone considering this practice to look elsewhere. They do not care about you, your pet, or have any degree of professionalism.

I actually considered taking them to court however the loss of the elder and the fallout literally caused me to have a nervous breakdown so I will just leave this review and hope it helps someone avoid the absolutely horrific experience I've had as a result of Parkwest Pet Clinics service.

EDIT: The steroid shots recommended and given by this clinic cost around $70 and were maybe 70% effective for two weeks. The following vet expressed surprise that it was given instead of Prednisolone tablets, a half every 12 hours. These pills cost around $20 for a months supply and are entirely effective.

Excellent service and a great location!
We took our dog here for the first time under emergency circumstances (she had a large gash behind her ear) and during covid. The staff was prompt, courteous and extremely helpful. The dog is all healed up and back to normal!
I think this will continue to be our vet for our fur babies! I am so happy I found them.

Dr Petrut did a double knee surgery on my dog Chewy when she was 13 months old. Now shes almost 10 and still loving life! Couldnt ask for a better vet

Brought my cat in to get his teeth checked out after he lost one of his canine teeth, Was told that everything is okay and nothing to worry about it happens, Recently took my cat to a different clinic and was told that my cat has bacteria and decay build up on most of his teeth requiring surgery. Very unreliable and unprofessional workers.

I am in North Vancouver and was unable to be in Edmonton to say good bye to my dog Joe. Thank you for taking care of him throughout the years and being with him at the end.

They offer good quality grooming and get back to me quickly. They are very friendly and helpful.

Great prices and above 5 star level of help, had lost my job and my puppy got sick and they still helped me. Cause of that day I've brought her back for all appointments and scares

Vets there are really working with love, passion and looking for the best interest of the pet. They do not care about how much can earn. Last time when I brought my pet to the vet, he gave me good advice about food for her, instead suggested which kind of food could I feed her and they could sell it.

Awesome groomers. My dog has thick fur that can be hard to keep tangle free. Cole does an amazing job each time. He is friendly and always asks what type of cut you would like. My dog is never stressed after his appointment. Thank you!

So happy with this vet clinic, and more importantly so are my pets! We've come here for nail trims a few times and are always treated so well. The staff are so friendly and you can tell they really love animals. The staff often come out from behind the counter to cuddle my dog. He gets just as excited when he realizes we're pulling up to the vet as he does when we're pulling up to the dog park! That's how I know it's the best place for our pets.

My family has been loyal to Parkwest Pet Clinic for many years now and we highly recommend both Dr. Petrut and Dr. Finyak. Dr. Petrut went above and beyond to try to save our very special family member, Peanut, in December 2017 - he made it very clear that he would not give up on Peanut as long as he had the will to live. We deeply appreciate how patient all staff members were with us during such an emotional time. When Peanut took a turn for the worst they allowed us to stay with him in a private room for HOURS until all family members were able to say goodbye and come to terms with having to make such an agonizing decision. Not once did we feel pressured or rushed into deciding that it was time to say goodbye. Losing a pet is a life changing event and I am so thankful for everyone at Parkwest for the patience, empathy, love and hugs!
