He helped us alot in selecting interior and exterior of the custom house and also provide us with alot of new information regarding what to keep in mind while making custom home selections.

Overall, we had a bad experience dealing with this builder and felt like some sketchy things occurred. We made an offer on a parkwood home and the sales rep (Sonny) took ~ 3 days to get back to us after we submitted the offer. When he did get back to us, he told us there was another offer on the table. We ended up losing the house and found out the other offer happened to be only $3,000 more than our offer. We were suspicious that the other sales rep was aware of our offer and informed the other buyers the offer they should put in to top our offer

Later on, we were told we could place an offer for a show home on the same street. After placing another offer for this one (we offered exactly what they were asking), we again weren’t told anything for 3 days. After waiting 3 days, we finally reached out. We were told that we couldn’t actually buy this house because the developer hadn’t approved it to be sold yet. This is something parkwood should have been aware of. Instead, they wasted our time and postponed our house hunt by several days.

Overall, the sales reps were difficult to communicate with and they seemed to not be straight forward with us. We dealt with other builders like black stone, Kimberly and avi and they were all very professional compared to this builder.

If you are going to make an offer on any of their spec homes, be careful which sales rep you proceed with.

Our new single home at with Parkwood is BEYOND our expectation. They have good people, good service, good management and good skills. We love our previous home that was built by Dolce Vita. We thought that we should stick with DV again.

When we plan to build a new home, we did our research and shopped all builders but we shopped Parkwood the last as we believed that bigger builder should be safer.

We finally picked Parkwood simply based on the service and response that the Sales Manager Lionel and Claudine provided. I want to make some changes on the layout, the Sales Manager helped me attentively and gave me a lots of idea in designing process, while many other builders have not much room for the change. Their price seems isn't the lowest as they provide a lots more upgrades for example a drainage in the garage that I never even expected, they provide it! Some builders seem cheaper but you needs to pay a lots on the upgrades that could cost more than what Parkwood offer. Their price is transparent, honest and reasonable.

Quality and the after sales service was my main concern to them as a smaller builder. Do they have enough resources and good control of their built? I wasn't sure all the way until my house has finally built and occupied.

Thankfully, as the building starts that ease my worry gradually. I feel more and more CONFIDENT each time during the building stage. They gave me the tour and schedule the lighting, appliances, interior materials selection section perfectly.

I would definitely say my purchase was absolutely amazing. They meet all our requirement, build on time, good price, excellent service, and excellent people from Sales Manager, QA, Designer, and Customer Service. They quality is even better than our previous home.

If I have to buy a new home again. I know where I need to go now. Thank you so much for making our dream come true!

I would like to add that we are happy with our purchase with Parkwood Master Builders. We have been looking for so long long to buy a house and lot of things should be considered especially when its your first home. I am glad that we went to Parkwood. Ron was extremely helpful and he helped us a lot in making the right decision in choosing the model by explaining us all pros and cons. His excellence in his profession is an asset to the company. Another person I would like to mention is Glen. He is super nice and helpful. He explained everything in detail about how to maintain and operate things which will be really helpful in future. Definitely recommend.

I would like to add this is just not the review but my beautiful experience of buying a house with Parkwood. Some times it is said that a person carries the image of the company in this case it is fully true. My experience with Ron Torrella is super good from the day I paid him first cheque to the day I moved in. This person went through the crests and troughs to help me. You not going to believe I bugged him so much sending multiple emails and texts and even showing up at his show home while he was in meetings, this guy never ever got mad, every time he greeted me saying, hello! My friend how can I can help you. It is not him only but the other people in Parkwood team like Dustin MacDonald the design selection guy, every thing he suggested was perfect I am happy that he was the one to do this with us and a well organized guy who never misses an email and right on time. Last is the guy I met today who gave me the keys Glen Zimmermann, he was really knowledgeable and guided us thru orientation of house and polite too.

I strongly recommend if you ever want to buy a house go to Parkwood, the experience of building house with them can not be expressed.thanks to all of you at Parkwood and especially Ron Torrella.

Dustin MacDonald was so helpful with helping me choose colours and accessories in my home. He was very patient, and so knowledgeable. His skills are absolutely amazing!

We were initially planning to build, but the delays in construction and the rising interest rates prompted us to consider quick possession homes. We had visited one of Parkwood's show homes before and they left a good impression, so we looked at their website and decided to view 2 of their quick possession homes. And right there at the first viewing, we found the exact lay out of the home that we were looking for and so we did not wait and requested to get the house on hold.

We were introduced to Lionel who assisted us throughout the entire sale process. He made everything so easy and seamless. Lionel was quick to answer all our questions, and even post possession- whenever we have inquiries, we were still able to reach out to him. He's so easy to deal with and very professional.

It's been a few months since we moved in and I can confidently say that we made the right choice picking this home! Any timeline that Parkwood provided us of how the build process would unfold, was inaccurate. We were initially quoted a rough estimate for possession to be 6 months from digging. It was actually 9. It’s shocking the sales person was unaware of the impact of Covid on their own company well over a year into the pandemic. We were initially quoted 2-3 weeks for an elevation review (which you typically get before giving a deposit), that took over a month and several emails and phone calls from us to follow up with little to no response. We also had to unexpectedly pay an additional $5000 as an “upgrade” once we received our blueprints as the sales person didn’t account for the extended bonus room, that is required by the developer, in our purchase price that was signed and accepted by all parties.

Our appointment at the Design Centre was our best experience with the builder. Thank you.

To say the communication with Parkwood is grossly inadequate would be an understatement. We almost lost an interest rate hold because of ineffective communication between their own staff members. No one takes accountability.

We could see that our fireplace placement when framed was incorrect in accordance to our blueprints, this was dismissed by our sales person. Indeed, this was an error that had to be fixed 2 weeks before possession.

We also made the mistake of signing off on a door color we were told was black but were never shown in person. Apparently black can also mean purple. And once you sign papers, the liability is on you. Ensure you ask for sample colors at EVERY step. The response from Parkwood was - too bad.

We had three different site supervisors within months. With no method to contact them.

Parkwood expected us to take possession of our home with no cooking appliances aside from a camping hot plate. Also no loaners for these items. To add, these items would not be in stock for over 4 months and we only found this out when we called the appliance company. We could not move our family including two young children, one with severe food allergies, into a home without a stove or oven. We spent 3 weeks contacting Coast appliances almost daily to get at least a cook top we could use. This came at an additional cost. The response from Parkwood was that they have nothing to do with the appliances and this was a trade and supply chain issue due to Covid. I can’t however understand what issue prevented Parkwood from communicating this to us so we could make necessary arrangements on our own. As a result, we had to upgrade every single appliance; more unexpected costs and no support from Parkwood. I would recommend they allow their customers to meet with their appliance contractor so that the customers can be aware of the delays that arise and plan + purchase accordingly. It would have saved us immense stress.

The first week in our house, the garage door stopped working. There was extreme gapping not only on the bottom of our garage door but also the side of it. Unsure how that was missed as we could easily identify it upon taking possession. We were informed that the concrete in our garage has already shifted and was uneven. We also had a leak in our basement that was caused by the carpenters puncturing a hole. Highly unsettling.

At this point, we are being referred to the warranty department for these items although these issues occurred prior to or days into possession. This is unacceptable and offensive but yet another example of referring us to someone else we have to chase. When I expressed the above recent concerns and others to management, she asked me to write her another email as to what she should respond to as the email chain was too lengthy for her to apparently read…

I cannot speak for all Parkwood staff, but I would fairly say in our experience, only build with Parkwood if you have the time and ability to be proactive and diligent at every step which is not what you expect when literally paying 100s of thousands of dollars for a home and making the biggest purchase of your life.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. We had really bad experience. We were charged $1000 for a lot holding deposit but when we decided against it, we were told that we will get a check in mail for the refund. Its been almost a month already. We have not received our refund. We had to call their head office several time but only voicemails and no call back. THINK TWICE before going with them! This is worst experience ever i had with any builder.

Latest update: i received the refund. Not sure what carrier the used but it took 1 week to reach locally. If you can take money via e transfer then why don't you refund via e transfer only? Why you issue cheques only 2 times in a month?

After 5 years there have been multiple leaks in multiple places.
The worst so far has been the siding and backing getting warped from water. Parkwood can't build anything right.

Really disappointed, we bought a brand new house from parkwood, now not even one year later we have plumbing issues. Once you flush a toilet, it sounds like rocks going down the pipe and it is really noise.
Complaint so many times to the warranty department and nobody wants to fix that issue. They just keep telling us that is NORMAL. This is not my first house or apartment, never heard anything like that. Once they sell you that house, right away they forget all about that warranty and issues you have and don't wanna fix it.
STAY AWAY FROM PARKWOOD MUSTER BUILDER ONE OF THE WORST HOME BUILDERS I EVER MET

Parkwood Master Builder Inc. Ok first of all, i never said you guys didn't try to fix it. Second, maybe you should come out to our place and tell me, when flushing that toilet that sound is normal (a bang sound or rocks going down the pipes or it seems like some pipes are loose in the walls). Tell me do you have a sound like that when you're flushing your toilet at your home? Except a water soud of course.
Ya we had a service guy out here at our place and guess what? He told us that's all he can do about that sound, to investigate more he would have to open more walls to see where the pipes are lose but he wouldn't. Obviously it is a big fix because something is really wrong and to fix that it would coste a lot of money and nobody wants to that!

Such a poor warranty services from parkwood. They told me to fill up the cracks came in window/door trims by myself as it comes under regular maintenance. They didn’t put railing on outside main entrance which more than 2feet. Which doesn’t even comply with city codes. I recommend not to buy.

Dealing with parkwood was an awesome experience, Karen she is an amazing lady with lots of information and helping attitude, Dustin is incredible interior designer guy who helped us in selecting and making our interior beautiful and construction manger rob is very honest and professional. Thanks to all the parkwood team.

Poor services from warrenty department instead of fixing stuff they told to go with alberta new home warrenty. Avoid buying house from them

Please save yourself the trouble, and find another builder. If I could rate no star, I would. I am frustrated and extremely disappointed with the treatment from several, yes, several Parkwood employees. And therefore, Parkwood as a whole. We purchased our new stand alone home from Parkwood in 2020. From the moment we received our keys, it has been absolute mayhem. The service we receive is more than horrendous, they do not respond to calls or emails and treat our concerns as petty. From June 2020 to present we still have ongoing non resolved issues with Parkwood. It seems like the only way to get through is when you reach out directly to their director. Funny enough they respond to the problems of our neighbours (not people of colour), but not ours (people of colour). It is now time for our home warranty fixes, and they are brushing off all our concerns as "minor" or "non existent" when professionals agree that the problem does exist and there are images to prove it. When you ask to speak with the owner Dan so that our concern can be handled, they say and I quote "He does not have a number". I have been able to save a lot of my friends from purchasing a new home from Parkwood, and now would like to save as many general public as i can. Please save yourself the headache, heartache, frustration and sleepless nights by NOT purchasing a home from Parkwood.

Perfect timiming, very professional, the house we built with them exceeded our expectations.
Dustin (the interior designer) went above and beyond to help us get what we asked for.
The warranty department replies in no time.
Not to mention that we ordered 60 change orders that were all done perfectly.

Personally Ron is very fast responsive person & once we informed him then he is going to do everything to do best for us. Paticularly in Laurel crossing area ; Parkwood builder is very lucky that they have good & enegetic sales person over here.

Alexandera plant is very good & just like dream house. My family & all my relative like this plan. Main thing is in this plan ; best way to did they space utilization.

Just walked into Parkwood show home in jagare ridge, large sinage outside said "come in and say hello", entered the home Nd was greeted by a lady in a rude tone, "did you book an appointment ", didn't you see the sign? Not very polite and their smaller sign pasted on the door handwritten seem to be more of an after thought. Not impressed by this interaction

We have our house built by Parkwood for just over a year now. We love the quality and the staff. Their after sales service is fantastic. The Warranty Officer Suresh and QA Supervisor Jim responded and helped me resolve my questions and problems quickly. They really do good follow up. My neighbor next door had same issues as we have and their builder refused to fix it even it's under new home warranty.

Also, my previous home built by another builder, the rooms above the garage is super cold in winter. I thought that's normal. However, my current house built by Parkwood doesn't have this problem at all, the rooms above garage is nice and warm even in extreme cold weather. We are so glad that we have chose Parkwood.

I would rather be homeless then allow these people to steal my money again. A Styrofoam cup has more integrity than this house. From roofing issues to foundation and paint, the house started falling apart after three years. I urge people to find a different builder. If you go with Parkwood trust me when I say you will spend more time thinking about filing a lawsuit then actually enjoying your house

What started with a late night viewing of Instagram Ad turned into the creation of our almost perfect home.
It all started with the tour/ viewing of one of their spec homes in which we almost closed a deal but then we realized that they had several design options which we could easily make our own while not breaking the bank. We explored several builders previously before deciding to choose Parkwood and we are totally happy with our decision.

Firstly, the Secord area sales manager Lionel who we had the pleasure of working with, spent a lot of time to listen to what we liked and reviewed our long list of wants or must haves and offered great suggestions. He did a tremendous job of showing us several options and at times would do quick drawings of the changes so we could envision. I would highly recommend working with him (Lionel Hertlein) as he always communicates whether it’s good or bad news but also tries his best to have a happy and satisfied customer whilst not afraid to give us his honest opinion.
Secondly, we worked with their amazing design specialist Dustin who is visionary! He helped us to choose what suits our style and theme we had in mind and also gave great suggestions that would blend seamless in some areas and also pop in others!
Thirdly, our site supervisor Steve did an awesome job at building our home with great attention to detail in which he showed us minor tweaks he did that we truly appreciate and they definitely made a lot of sense!

We are 1 month in our home and we are totally enjoying our space every single day!

There is never a perfect time to buy or build and no home is perfect but this is as close to perfect that suits our needs. Thank you again Parkwood and team for creating this wonderful home. You have a fabulous team who listens and delivers an amazing product which in our opinion is well laid out with little to no wasted space. We have received many compliments from friends that assisted with our move and who might have stopped by to view our home.

We highly recommend Parkwood as a builder of choice to anyone who is seeking a home with great layout options and standard features which might be upgrades to other builders.

P. S. Why we say almost perfect.we are still awaiting a few items to be completed, some of which are out of direct control of the builder namely an appliance which is backlogged due to covid and the others are seasonal items that should be done when the weather permits.

Karen, I just can't thank you enough for everything you have done and guiding us through the process of a build. Nervous and spectacle at the beginning you have made our Journey at Parkwood an absolutely amazing one and also a easy one when deciding on choosing a builder. Everyone from the design team Dustin, Charlene for Lighting and Rob for construction and the gentleman that helped us for electrical.

Keep damaging my house, I am their neighbor next door where they are constructing a new home in secord area.
They dnt even inform about the damages they just run away.

Incredible master homebuilders, great service and attention to detail. The sales, design, and construction process has been exceptional and everyone seems to be on-point - a cohesive effort to ensure we have a good experience and guidance to design the perfect home. Definitely highly recommended.

Very disappointed with them. We bought a house from them recently at Glenridding, and it is missing an upgrade. Here is the thing. On Sep 17,2020 we made a paperwork (with upgrades we wanted) and wanted to submit. But she (the salesperson at showhome) said the price is low and the office would not accept it. Then we left. After 3 days, on Sep 20,2020. She asked us to come back to make a try. We went there and singed the paperwork. On the possession date, we found that upgrade (Samsung washer and dryer) missing. We asked her. Here is her response. She removed every upgrade from the paperwork after Sep 17. On Sep 20, when she added back the updates, she missed that. And then she said we must rely on the signed paperwork. She said it is nobody’s fault. No one would be responsible for that.
So, for whoever reading this. DO NOT go to them unless you read carefully on the paperwork every time. Otherwise, you do not know what they got rid of and then you do not have it on possession date.

Really worse customer service you ever think about, nobody knows whats going on inside the company. Biggest joke is the Warranty department, which is the worst I had ever seen. Even if you ask them one thing, dont expect any answer untill you have to ask them twice.
Even after more than 1 & 1/2 year in after the possession, there is still like broken tiles need to be replaced, window needs to be replaced, heat vent needs to be fixed etc.

I bought a house from Parkwood in June 2020. There have been issues from the day I moved in.
The house wasn't even finished at my possession date but they blamed it on COVID and said it will have to get finished after move in. I moved in and immediately had issues with plumbing leaking, outlets not sitting flush with the tile, grout and paint splatter all over the tile in the kitchen and shower, grout coming out of the tile in the shower, drywall bulging and joints, visible drywall seems, baseboards waving down the wall, tyvek paper sticking out under the siding, siding looking like strips of bacon (best way I can describe it) and siding pulling away from the house. I brought these issues up, some were addressed some were not. When pushed on the remaining repairs I got told by my Parkwood contact that he will no longer be helping me and to email the warranty department with my complaints.

Dealing with the warranty department has been extremely frustrating. The warranty supervisor admitted that they hadn't even had a chance to inspect the house before I moved in. They sent the framer over today to trim a board causing a bulge in the wall outside. Instead of trimming the 2x4 he used a hammer and pounded the nails on the opposite side of the 2x4 through the drywall in my stair well.
When I asked about the siding looking strips of bacon the warranty supervisor admitted it looked worse then the rest of the houses on the block but assured me it was still within allowable tolerances.

We have had trades people show up early, late, or not at all. They have been rude to my fiance who has been here to deal with them coming and going. And if that wasn't bad enough the work they do is poor quality.

I definitely do not recommend Parkwood. They have made me regret ever buying a house at all.

I also just found out that on top of everything else, part of my HVAC wasn't even installed. Somehow it passed inspection though which really makes me wonder what else "passed" inspection. I have asked them to verify that other issues were fixed properly but they so far have refused stating I should just take their word for it.

We have just booked a house with Parkwood Master Builder in Laurel Crossing.
Would like to Thank Ron Torrella ASM who is passionate and has a great knowledge in his domain, which helped us finalising this house.

So we recently purchased a home built by Parkwood. The home is 6 years old so you figure your getting a decent buy, not so much. Once it got cold we had major drafts coming from the fireplace In the living room and down over our water heater and electrical panel.
Had a contractor come in and remove some material no vapor barrier no sealant no insulation hardly at all for the fire place ces at a cost of $4800 to repair.
Now we are dealing with the basement.
So far all the utilities where they come in have 0 foam or any sealant around them just holes with pipes through them. Also a huge draft was found coming from the rim joist and the bay window area has 0 insulation in a 2ft section. Estimated another 3-4000 dollars to fix this screw up.
This house is so cold it's barely livable in Alberta with the cold.
Buyers beware check the work daily if you choose these guys they will cut corners every where possible. Gonna take alot of money and time to make this home comfortable.

I extremely regret on purchase of my house from Parkwood. First year in my new home has been full of frustration and disappointment dealing with their warranty department. If you have lots of extra time and patience to deal with push back and refusals for removal of deficiencies related to “One Year Workmanship and Material Warranty” then buy a house from them. Otherwise, stay away from this builder. I would give them “0” star if there was an option – WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We bought our Parkwood home 2 years ago. I will provide a comprehensive review of Parkwood and the customer service they provided in the spring since there's still some work that needs completion.

Sadly I purchased a condo through park wood just before the warranty laws on new builds changed. Parkwood was VERY SLOW to fix any deficiencies with the building (some were fixed 5-6 years after we requested a fix) and less than 10 years in we had a significant special assessment to cover some very serious building issues. These issues were caused by negligence on the builders part. They were extremely slow to respond to inquiries (if they responded at all). If you buy from them be weary of the builder sitting on the condo board to deflect deficiencies until they are no longer covered by warranty. Thankfully I was able to sell and get out of there. Will not be buying anything from Parkwood again

After seeing a really nice show home by this builder in Glenridding, we decided to inquire about building with them. From the start the process was easy, and the sales person was outstanding. Ron Torella was courteous and knowledgeable, and made our buying experience stress free. His knowledge about the market convinced us to invest in 2 duplex homes which we never regret.
Some of the things we really like about our home is that it has an open feel, lots of windows, and workmanship is up to our expectations.
This company takes pride in both their product and service and provides excellent quality for the price. I would recommend them to others. We love our homes and would definitely build with the same company again.

Despite not being able to purchase a home with Parkwood we are extremely satisfied with them and especially Ron Torrella! Very knowledgeable, accommodating and offer high quality homes for a great price. Always looking out for the best interest of their customers! Will definitely be going back!

If you like nothing but wasting your time and money, look no further! Building a house with them was fustrating to the point you wish you could walk away. Dealing with there warranty department is a joke and still is. Their sales people if you were lucky to just have one person as they are a revolving door, will tell you anything you wan. How this company still Sells Houses and is a Mater Builder is a mystery! If you want to live a happy life Stay Away!

We built with Parkwood Homes in Tamarack in 2013. Ron Torrella has been great with us from time of purchase to even after we moved in. He was very motivated and enthusiastic to work with us. He always responded quickly and professionally. Moving into the house, we had very few problems but warranty representative was very responsive. Anytime we had an issues, we communicated this with Ron and he was able to guide us and warranty was able to address the issues in time.
We loved our home. We made the right decisions with our choice with the best advice that we got from Parkwood. We always recommend Ron and Parkwood to all our friends.

We went to see the Kingsbury Show Home in Laurel Crossing and were given a great tour by Ron torrella. He was so friendly and helpful. What set him apart from other sales representative is his honesty and was straight forward with me right from the beginning and answered all my questions without leaving anything out.
We also went to Parkwood Design Center with him to have a sneak peek at all of the options. Loved it! Loved the service! We are planning to purchase our home this summer definitely considering buying with Parkwood. So far 5 stars!

Hi i moved 2 years and few months to my new home.i thought its the procedure to finsh rough grade in few days.but few days become months and now its been more then 2 years ad nothing happend.all my neighbours house build after me and they have there final grading done long time ago.i am surprising what to say and where to go to explain this situation.city keep sending me letter of penalty and i m sending this to builder.still no response.now final grading is get expensive for me as all the houses surrounded me and back build and now i have to do manuaaly which is very costly.

I accompanied my friend together with his family in Laurel crossing neighbourhood since I am planning to purchase a house too. I was disappointed and shocked how this arrogant guy dealt with his customer. He was very sarcastic and very rude. His voice was all over the place. This guy’s name is Ron Torella, so unprofessional. As much as we want to buy if this kind of treatment we are getting then might as well go to other builder. Hope this kind of behaviour wont be tolerated.

No response. Called them about 2 months ago and emailed about getting the blue prints for finishing the basement. Still no response. I guess once the house is sold no need to answer the customers
