This is a store who has arranged licensing rights to sell Patagonia, not an official Patagonia store- and that impacts the experience you should have as a Patagonia customer with the repair policy. If you’re not familiar, Patagonia sells higher end clothing with a repair for life “ironclad” guarantee. The Calgary store contracts with a local gear repair store. Your items are subject to a $15 wash charge per item- no photos or explanation given on the charges! I took 5 items for repair and was charged 3 wash charges. Pretty shocking, as I washed the items prior to drop off. When I asked for more details I was told “oils” on the clothing could be why. It seems like a fairly arbitrary policy, and certainly one I never encountered in the states as a Patagonia customer getting repairs there from 2012-2018. You simply don’t have this happen at a regular Patagonia store. To me it feels like a major cash grab. This absolutely impacts my decision to both shop at this store (I no longer will) and potentially be a Patagonia loyalist any longer.
Great team at the store, everyone was super helpful, they really care about the customer, specially Paula, she was the one helping me a lot! She went above and beyond, great experience, great brand, greater team!
Great deals, great buys. Our family love buying clothes from here. Always of great quality and with affordable prices. We've never had an item here that doesn't last, we could use a clothing here for years and will still in good condition. Aside from having good quality, I think it is also because of how we take good care of the clothes we bought here. They have good designs and products are comfortable.
I placed my order online because it's easier to do. It was delivered quickly and without any problems. I got exactly what I ordered and the size is right too. I was worried that it may be smaller or bigger for me but I was wrong. Their given sizes in their website is just right for me. About the color, what you see is what you get. I was very happy with my purchase here. Might do it again soon.
This place is worth checking because of their clothing selection that are really of good quality. Even if I am to wash an item from here many times it won't look that very worn out. It has nice color that won't fade easily. This shows that the price I paid for the items I bought were really worth it. I hope their price will stay affordable as possible and with still high quality products.
I took an old Patagonia jacket in for repair expecting to send it away. But Carla replaced the worn out zipper pull instore in 5 minutes and I was on my way! Excellent, friendly and professional service.
Great store to get everything you need for outdoors and winter season. The quality of the products is the best that money can buy. It may get at lil' steep at first but the investment is totally worthy. Patagonia is the only brand I totally trust on. For me and for my entire family. You just can't go wrong with Patagonia.
Great customer service. Had a minor issue with an order and everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Would definitely order again, thank you!
If you know the brand, there will be no surprise that the apparel is expensive. $40 for a plain t-shirt with a logo is difficult to swallow, but I'm clearly not the target consumer. Location was clean, staff were helpful, so you won't be disappointed if you know what to expect going in.
I ordered the women’s retro pile jacket in white online from this store. I love the sweater and it was very promptly shipped to me in Edmonton. I made a request on the comment section at checkout and they did more than they had to! Quick service and good service - I couldn’t ask for more.
I brought my jacket here to get repaired. I eventually ended up with a store credit for a brand new jacket and could not have asked for a better experience.
A lady staff helped me find an entry level rain jacket and gave me a lot of options. At the end I chose between a jacket made of Gore-Tex and an H2No. I went on and bought the H2No of Torrentshell 3L.
Torrentshell 3L review:
Patagonia improved the cons of the previous Torrentshell design and made it more waterproof using 3Layers of H2No fabric! I used mine as an outer shell jacket for light to heavy snow in Canadian rockies and light to moderate rain during spring time in Calgary. It’s kinda stiff and noisy during the first wear but got used to it over time. It’s perfect for trail hiking, stroll in the park or work commute. I used it a few times during a heavy rain and the water didn’t leak inside. Armpit zipper was also great if it gets a little toasty during my trek and really easy to stow away in your backpack as soon as the weather warms up. Really versatile rain jacket that is easy on your pocket!
The staff are incredibly helpful and super friendly. They truly want to help folks find the right gear and make sure you are happy with your purchase. I’m beyond impressed with their customer service and willingness to help. With so many options online, it’s nice to see that the in-store experience is worth the trip!
I called ahead and they were able to check their stock on an item, and although they didn't have it they were able to bring it in from Banff for me and called me once it arrived. Staff were all friendly and made it a pleasant experience.
Just bought Patagonia Women's Tres 3-In-1 Parka in smolder blue from this location. Very pleased with my purchase! Been getting lots of compliments on it. The staff were all quite friendly and very genuine with their recommendations.
Lovely shop! The staff couldn't be more helpful and knowledgeable! Unfortunately our item was out if stock but they went out of their way to hold us one at another store during our travels! Thanks Jeff!
Very bad experience Shop manager had various excuses for price match. I bought a jacket on Feb 15 at $560 (was $800) and found price down to $399.50 in Sporting life 2 weeks after. Called for price match, manager told that only woman jacket for that model is on sale at Sporting Life. When I double check and called to confirm and went into shop, manager said "S" size is not exists and on sale at SL. Come on, SL has few "M" and few "L" on sale, which generally means the whole series is on sale. Manger said they have no S size and can't do price match. But said can give $80 credit (not refund). I picked up another jacket and paid the difference to use that credit. I like Patagonia, but don't like Patagonia Calgary shop. Element should assign a better manager. Strongly not recommend shopping there. Prefer Sporting Life.
That particular store, while it is a "Patagonia" branded store, it is not operated by Patagonia corporate. Patagonia work with a few key partner stores that carry the Patagonia name. The Calgary store is one of those stores.it is privately owned, and therefore they do make their own price match rules.
