Naomi’s love of dogs is on full display during each swim session. My dog Rosie started swimming after knee surgery. Naomi was so gentle but also encouraged Rosie to get the most out of each session. Even if your dog is not recovering from surgery, I recommend swimming as a great cardio workout Marianne
Our dog absolutely loves the pool experience every two weeks. He is a herding dog and needs this high level of activity in addition to his usual two off leash daily walks. It is so good for their joints also. Naiomi is excellent with him and it is a special experience now that my husband can go in also.
Great people and great service! They literally saved our dog after he was having some trouble recovering from surgery. He would barely move and when he did only used his front legs. Once Naomi and her team put him in the pool the progress was unbelievable! Within a few sessions he was moving better, and able to get around more on his own. Within a couple of months his hind end had gained loads of muscle and he was starting to balance his body again. Now he is perfect - he runs and plays and you would never know that he had a problem! We still swim a couple of times per month as the warm water and stretching always seems to make him feel good and somehow improve things even more. I am forever grateful!
This place gave our old boy so much joy near the end of his life Naomi was so sweet and touching when she heard our story and really created a bond with our doggy Koda! He loved his swims and time there very much! We recommend Naomi for any families looking to rehabilitate their dogs with swimming, she does a great job! Definitely a great place to bring ur animal!
We have been bringing our dogs (3 large breeds) for swimming at PP for many years now. Though only one of our dogs has weekly visits to keep her active and keen on swimming in case she requires hydro-therapy as she gets older, the staff have always been fantastic with all 3 - including our timid and apprehensive female German Shepherd. Naomi has a great manner with all the dogs and Charlie the big mixed breed is always SO excited to splash around and burn off some energy! We appreciate that Naomi continues our obedience training when entering and exiting the pool, and all the staff and customer considerations for Charlie's leash reactivity toward other dogs. While we haven't utilized the other services outside of hyrdo-therapy swimming, we plan to continue being swim customers for as long as we have our pups.
Edit: added pictures from Charlie’s session with Naomi tonight!
Our dog was always upset when we picked him up. When I went to get him he wasn’t with all the other dogs and was in a room by himself, in the dark. Just awful. Don’t trust your dog with this place.
Took our dog here for daycare when visiting family in town, and we couldn't get kennel space in our home town. It was wonderful! Thank you for taking such good care of her.
Cannot say enough good things about this facility. I was in a jam and they took my puppers and were just incredible. From the energy from the front desk staff to the cute little report card everything made this puppy mommy at ease leaving her boy there. Thank you to all for making this a great experience and will bring him back hopefully soon
My puppy has gone here for months now and just loves it. He loves the staff and they love him. The staff are friendly, courteous and if I have questions about my pup they always have time for me. The swimming aspect is also a plus. My pup loves it and also helps getting comfortable around water. Never have I been charged extra or made to pay a tip as others may have said in other reviews. Yes the building can be a little tricky to get to or parking lot is tricky but if you know how to drive and park no issues. End of day, great place for your doggo. If you are a good human the humans are good back ;)
I take my pup for grooming since she’s been a baby. We have been getting her groomed here for 6 years! They always take good care of her, would definitely recommend!
Never take your dog here for grooming! When we arrived it felt very warm and welcoming. When I came back to pick up my dog the energy had completely changed and they had no idea who I was. I got my dog home only for her to start throwing up and then I noticed her tummy was all cut up. I immediately sent an email to Pawsitively Pooched. They asked me to provide pictures of the cuts which I did and then after me calling multiple times and leaving message after message I finally got an email from the manager. She told me cuts were to be expected with matts. Sure, but how could there be matts on her tummy where there is no hair? After emailing back and forth it was clear the manager thought this was all a very normal experience. I wouldn’t take your dog here unless you both want to be traumatized.
Tucker was traumatized by the last groomer we went too. He was struggling with people touching his face and paws. He needed to be shaved because the groomer had not finished grooming due to his anxiety. We went to Positively Pooched and they were so kind to Tucker. We have nothing but positive reviews. Thank you for being compassionate to our little guy.
If I could give less I would. Our Labradoodle was taken for a trim and was shaven down completely. She had multiple cuts from the razor and was completely traumatized after the incident. Not only that but the girl who helped us at the end decided to be condescending and rude to my wife and I stating we haven’t taken care of her and she needs to see a vet cause of our lack of care. The puppy had just had a check up and had no issues.we found this rude and disgusting to treat customers, we have since taken her else where and no one has done the damage done by the clippers or shaved her bald.
Absolutely amazing place. They have cared for all of our dogs without a single issue, ever. The staff are top notch and my boys are always happy to go!
We started using the Hydro Therapy Sessions back in early April of 2022 after our 12-year-old dog, Sarabi, was diagnosed with arthritis. One of my sister's friends had mentioned this as a cheaper alternative than what was offered by our vet. We worked both with Nicole and Ashely to get Sarabi associated with the water and the pool. Within a few weeks, they found what motivated Sarabi (insert tool). This was a turning point for Sarabi. She got eager to get into the pool and couldn't be stopped once she got started. Considering we had to cut back on Sarabi's walks and visit the off-leash Dog Park, this was so exciting and heart-warming for my family. After several months of visits one to two times a week, Sarabi's improved so much. We've started visiting the off-leash dog parks without her getting sore before leaving. Her energy, which never slowed down in the first place, had I can't thank the team at Pawistively Pooched for their help. They are always friendly and upbeat when we visit or even over the phone. Naomi and Ashely, you're both fantastic.
We dropped our dog off and showed the staff member a picture of what we wanted him to look like. She said she understood. When we picked him up later, he had barely been trimmed, and certainly not what we had requested. He was initially very soft but then has been getting very matted fur. If it didn't sound so crazy, I'd say they were loading him up with a conditioner that encourages tangling to make dogs have to need a grooming more often.
This is the absolute worst place in Calgary to take your dog. This last week we took our 10 month old golden doodle for trim, when we picked him up he was completely shaven down to the skin. He’s been traumatized all week as he knows something is not right with him. Please I’m telling all dog owners to stay away from this horrible institution with terrible business practices.
We've had a difficult time finding a groomer for our giant 8 year old Newfoundland dog. This is the second time he's been here and they do a phenomenal job. Our dog Dax is A LOT of work to groom and both times he has come home looking fantastic! Highly recommend.
I had high expectations for this doggy daycare with all the great reviews. This was my puppy’s first time at any daycare. There’s good and bad. The good is: my pup came home tired and happy. He got an honest report card of what he did well and what he could work on. The daycare gives him group play sessions with similar sized dogs, rest time in a kennel, cuddles, and group walks outside. This is all great stuff. The bad is: I didn’t fell welcomed when I first came in for drop off and filled out intake forms. The lady who checked us in was nice. It was another staff member named Traval (spelling?) who was standing at the front desk as well. I was holding my pup Charlie in one hand and trying to fill out the forms in the other. Since he was squirming and wanted to explore I set him down on the floor. Immediately Traval chastised me and said “You have to have a leash on your dog”. It wasn’t so much what he said it’s how he said it. It was a rude and unfriendly tone. My pup is a 4-lb fur ball. Traval could have easily come over and pet him, pick him up and let me know the rules in a kind tone of voice. Or something like that. Just not the abruptness I received. I assume the staff are supposed to be friendly to dogs and owners. There were no other dogs in the lobby at that time. It was my first time there. I didn’t know the rules. So I picked Charlie back up and continued to fill out the forms while Charlie struggled in my arm. Since Traval was standing there he could easily have offered to help or hold Charlie while I completed the forms but nope. No offer of help. No kind word. He didn’t even say hello or smile. Then other dogs started arriving and was greeted by Traval with smiles and he knew their names. So obviously he can be friendly, he just chose not to be friendly towards Charlie and I. I’m happy that Charlie had a good time and I was greeted kindly during pick up from another lady staff member. Charlie’s experience is why the 3-star rating. My unfriendly check-in experience is why we’re not coming back. You only have 1 chance to make a good first impression. I was already nervous dropping my puppy off at daycare for the very first time. I get that we all have bad days. Traval clearly wasn’t having a bad day as he had smiles and kind welcoming words for the other dogs and owners dropping off their dogs. As a dog owner I have many options for doggy daycare. I wouldn’t come back to a place in which I didn’t feel welcomed by all staff.
We brought our pup here a few weeks back and they did an good job grooming him - definitely 4 stars for the grooming experience. Unfortunately the lady and man at the front desk were rude and didnt even greet me or answer my questions which I thought was bizarre.
Anyways, ive called 3x now trying to book an appointment for another grooming appointment and the woman on the phone keeps telling me they're fully booked for doodles and that she'll call me back.but she never does.
I get that you're busy, but surely you have a schedule that outlines availability? We dont need the grooming immediately - but how on earth can you expect to keep your business going if no one can even book an appt and every promise to call back doesnt happen?
Hydrotherapy here allowed my senior lab to spend her last month doing her favorite activities despite her mobility issues. She had new life each time she would come for a swim. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I will definitely be bringing all future dogs here and highly recommend others too as well.
My dog went to daycare for the first time here and it was awesome. I'm definitely bring him back and i have already booked in. I will be recommending it to all my friends.
What a wonderful experience for my rescue Fredrick. PAWS takes such good care of him whether it’s grooming or daycare. The grooming is fantastic and he smells amazing for weeks after. I really appreciate the Instagram pictures throughout the day. Great staff and great place to trust with your dog.
These people are so amazing! Shout out to Jason, Pita and all the other caregivers that have helped with transitioning my puppy Bear. They are so helpful, and loving and attentive to our baby's needs and we highly recommend them. Bear loves running to Jason for loves and cuddles and such a great facility. He will hopefully get a swimming lesson soon, looking forward to seeing them soon, Thanks guys!
My pup has been there for daycare and grooming and I’m impressed by how the facility is run. My boy looks amazing after his groom with Ash, I will be returning to her again. She was gentle, understanding and patient with my boy. Thank you so much! (Book your appointment with them, you won’t regret it)
I love this facility! Staff are so friendly and caring with dogs! I recommend Pawsitively Pooched to anyone needing daycare, grooming or extra special therapy for their forever furry best friend. A special shout out to Raina, who looks after the grooming of all my family's dogs.
Took our dog here to get her more comfortable with the water. Mallory was fantastic in the pool with our nervous Shepherd and gradually built her confidence up until she was paddling the length of the pool. By the end of the session, our dog seemed far more relaxed and confident. You won't be in the water with them but you get to hang out beside the pool while the hydrotherapist works with your dog in the water. Mallory let us know what she was doing and what our dogs body language was saying. She was attentive and patient with our dog. Would absolutely recommend this place if you have a dog that needs a slow introduction to swimming.
Consumer beware. This location is being closely monitored and watched for animal cruelty reports. Along with licensing issues. They have unqualified staff members performing grooming without clientele's knowledge.
We've been taking our dog to Pawsitively Pooched for three years and are very happy with the way they take care of him. He is so excited to be dropped off every time we go!
We took our dog here for her last swim. Pawsitively Pooched was absolutely amazing with our girl Zoey. Thank you for the wonderful experience. It meant a lot to us to be able to see our Zoey swim one last time.
We recently brought our 14-year old Golden Retriever for his last swim. They were very good in handling our senior dog and you can feel their sincerity and love for dogs. Thank you for your excellent service!
Asked for a cleaning of my Aussie shepherd not a trim just tidy him up a little bit and cut out any knots he has.
My dog came home with a completely bare stomach with clipper marks on his stomach (red little cuts all over) also one of his nails was torn apart and very sore. Not sure what the hell this place did to my dog.
I strongly recommend not taking any animals here for grooming.
Our dog needed daycare and socialization. We were unsure how he would make out, as he has had issues with other dogs in the past. The staff here were welcoming and assuring. They handled him with kindness and positivity. The day care sessions went amazingly well. We were VERY happy with all they did for us.
We've been taking our doggo here for years! They're always so happy to see him as he is happy to see them. His grooms are always great. He has allergies so it's great that they use hypoallergenic products on him!
I have a large and very fluffy dog with a skin condition and we have tried so many groomers that didn't respect his care needs. Bear always comes back from grooming at Pawsitively looking sharp and trimmed up nicely, and no flare ups after the fact! Highly recommend!
Top Notch Daycare and Groomers! Great pricing, friendly staff who get to know you and you pup! Finn always comes home happy and they do the best schnauzer cut!
I've had the worst experience at Pawsitively Pooched back in June 2019. A lady groomer completely shaved my poodle (and told me that the minimum length they keep on dogs is 1"). I could see my dogs pink skin all over his body. He didn't even feel comfortable after being groomed because he was too shaved up. She shaved my dog's ears completely without asking. It seemed like she did not had a lot of experience with dogs, especially with ones who have anxiety and are scared of strangers at first, such as my dog. I've been to other groomers before and he would always become friendly and nice to anybody. When I came to get my dog, she did not even showed up and the receptionist made me pay first, probably so I don't see my dogs condition.i honestly shouldn't even have tipped her.payed 73$ to get my dog shaved? ! Never again. Also my dog smelled as if he didn't get a shower. He smelled old and he had a lot of dirty hair on him from his cut, my car was covered with his fur. Disappointed.
I’ve taken my dog there only once so far but they did an excellent job on grooming my raggedy Mexican rescue dog. Even the hard to do places like the flappy neck part was evenly cut. Good job!
Amazing staff who are dedicated to giving the best to all the dogs and their companions. The swim therapy has been amazing for my dog who had recently lost his leg. The therapists have made him stronger and more able to do his walks with confidence. Love them.
We've been a few times and we absolutely loved what they did for our 12 year old Chuaihua (haircut). He looked much better than other places we've been
Our dog looks awesome everytime she comes out. She knows when we are going there and is whining to out of our vehicle and get into pawsitively pooches. We haven't tried it yet but they have a pool for your dog to exercise. The staff are all friendly. She loves her morning of pampering.
They take such good care of her, and she comes home super tired! We ask her if she wants to go to "daycare" and we get the same reaction as we would if we asked if she wanted to go for a "walk" or to the "park. " She loves it here, so we love it here:)
Pawsitively Pooched is such a great doggy daycare. We have been taking our pup there since she was four months old. All of the staff really care about your dog, and it is such a great vibe from the moment you walk in the door. Highly recommend for anyone who wants their pup to make friends (both with the other dogs and the staff) and come home tired and happy!
Always friendly, all cuts include free dog care for the day. The dogs look good after their cuts, they don’t just get shaved, the staff actually try to groom them.
My pup is absolutely exhausted after a day here! It is one of her favourite places and she always spends the whole day playing with her friends (both human and canine). I am so lucky to have a team I can trust so fully with the responsibility of looking after my (fur) baby.
