Zero pet first aid in the store. No vet wrap, proper sized pawz, qwik stop, gauze, cotton pads.nothing at all. Waste of a drive in.

This place is ran by teenage girls that have no respect for younger kids and do not move from the front desk. They act busy typing and ignore you when you ask a question.

I’ve been going to Pet Valu for the last six years and adopted my cat here in 2019.

The store is always well stocked (unless if there are supplier issues beyond the store’s control), Ana (owner) is always friendly and helpful with recommendations or special orders. Staff in general is always helpful. Store is very clean and well organized.

WAY OVERPRICED! I bought a pack of 8,12" Steer Sticks. There was no price on them or the tag they were hanging from. I get to the till with my small Dog Food Container and the Sticks, my total was, $99 and change! $50! For the Steer Sticks! WAY TO EXPENSIVE! I will be returning these to another location. That's ridiculous! Then $45 for a Dog Food Container! Give me a break! 2 items for $99!

Wouldn't get my dog food anywhere else. We love the staff, it doesn't matter what lication we go to.

Employees aren't overly helpful, they lingered and didn't stray far from the front. Almost nothing for bird supplies, and just suggesting that maybe they stock aviary bulbs, would be nice to not have to go all the way to the city for them

The employees and management knew all the information I needed and more! The assistant manager Jordyn and her coworker Sophia had all the answers for my pup and the information for my specific diet kitty! I will definitely be back with Blizzard and Professor Butters!

If you have a pet, than this is the only store to go to when you need supplies. Pancake loves the treats the bath and the staff. Greatest pet store in all the lands!

Wide variety of products in the store. Customer service is terrible. I have gone several times hoping service is dependent on person and will get better, but my worst experience was Monday. I came in very close to store close and had asked the ladies if it was still okay to buy they said yes, I asked for assistance, ans was pointed me in the direction but they couldn't answer my questions, told me the product was unreturnable even if unopened, and refused to ask another store for different sizes of the product. I know this isn't the case in all pet valu's as I went to Calgary to pick up a size - the location didn't have it and they called and put one on hold at another store in Calgary. This store also said if it was the wrong fit I could bring it back. The service was also 100% better as they were able to help me with sizing and explaining the product at both other stores.

Would recommend another store.

Gracie Mae's new store, just gave her a bath and this place is clean, great staff (Alex) is my go to person. Remember if your pet is in need this is the place to go. But again that's just me (I really like this place and staff) so does my Gracie Mae. Stay Safe and shop in your hood

I don’t think your employees have the authority to force people to use hand sanitizer upon entry into the store especially when they try to show you their hands being red and irritated and the reason why I tell you that I can’t wear it, was treated pretty rudely about it upon explaining this and I ended up walking out. We may be in a pandemic but I don’t feel it is right to tell people what they have to rub into their skin and not care about allergies and other possible factors, at the very least I can only hope that whoever sees this talks to the ladies there about their people skills, had they not been rude about it I wouldn’t be writing this right now.

Pet Valu in Strathmore has the best self-serve pet wash that I have ever used! They provide everything you will need. The only thing you need to supply is the pet! It is spotless, well designed and provided a very pleasant experience for my fearful dogs. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The equipment worked great-the water spray was strong, consistent temperature and effective, the hose long enough to accommodate a large dog and I was able to the best job ever with my Lab’s very dense and water resistant fur! Your booking allows plenty of time and there is a extremely reasonable flat rate fee that includes all our your supplies. I couldn’t have been happier. I will return every time my girls need a clean up!

I am writing this also because like some other reviewers I had poor warranty service from this location, i contacted the manufacturer of my defective product and was told to bring it back to the place of purchase if it was within the 2 year period (which it was). The employee stated that they had no warranty program with this company and asked me to wait for the owner. Well the owner stated the same thing but as I showed her the email from the manufacturer she just kept saying that she could not do anything for me.
Anyway we used to purchase items from this location and use the dog wash but we will not be supporting this business any longer.

Such a shame over a $40 product

First of all, I don't usually post reviews.but this got me fairly irritated. I liked this store quite a bit until yesterday.

I got home from Calgary yesterday so i stopped into this location to pick up some dog food. Well the Acana dog food brand has food cards that if you buy 12 bags of dog food over 24 months you receive the same size bag of food for free. So i went in to grab my free dog food bag, the store went and told me that its only free if you fill it out within 12 months. Well DIRECTLY on the card from ACANA it says 24 months, showed them and everything, they refused to honour that deal. So I called a Calgary location, they agreed it was 24 months.told that to Strathmore location, they still didn't honour that deal. Forcing me to drive all the way back to Calgary wasting about 2 hours of my time and my gas. If it wasn't expensive dog food I probably wouldn't have even cared, but the specific bag was $95. So before I got home I called every Calgary location to make sure they all agreed on 24 Months, they all do. I wouldn't have driven to Calgary that same day again but I had to because one of my food dates was about to expire in 3 days meaning I would have had to buy another bag in order to get the free one, and I am leaving to work out of town on Monday so I never had a chance otherwise.

Needless to say I feel sorry for all of the people that are spending the extra money to buy the 12 bags of food in 12 months because that's the false information that Strathmore is giving people. Don't let them tell you otherwise. Acana says 24 MONTHS and so does every Pet Valu Calgary location, I also called Acana to make sure.

Very friendly staff and great service. They have Happy Cats (cat adoption service) there on a regular basis (once a week I think). Their pet wash area is awesome! $10 and all you need is your dirty animal. Aprons, clean towels, good variety of shampoos and what not, air dryer, and even treats for you furry loved one! (I bring my own for bath time because my dog is old and super picky) Really, it's worth $10 just to not clean up my bathroom after, nevermind not having to bring anything! Also very involved with the community. Great place all around. I always feel welcome there.

I did not want to leave my babies out in the car while I ate

We love this place for its selection and friendly staff. We always look for the new kitty and applaud them for allowing the opportunity to adopt a new family member.

Went in there last week and the ladies where great! They helped me with everything I needed and where super sweet to my puppy! Defiantly recommend and will be back!

My dog really needed a bath (see photo), so I took her to my favorite dog wash place. Pet Valu! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, so I really like that I don't have to strain my back, while washing my dog. I love that I don't have to bring my own towels or shampoo, or clean up afterwards (although I try not to make too much of a mess). The staff are very friendly and although my dog hates baths, I enjoy taking her there, if I have to, because its easier for me.

Was in this afternoon to pick up dog food for 2 fur babies that I am babysitting. Very helpful and extremely friendly service. Cheers.

I like the selection at this location however the staff don't have a great vibe unlike other pet stores in town that really go above and beyond.

Very good store, has lots of materials in it. The owner is very accommodating in trying to get the right item for you! They make sure that you are happy when dealing with them.

Friendly staff, good deal on the self serve dog wash saves you the trouble and mess of bathing your dog at home.

Great service easy to get too. Can't believe how clean and neat this Store is. Easy to get to East on the #1 hwy. Keep up the great work Ana
