Always such bad service. Unfriendly staff and they take forever to help out. It's quite annoying. Awful prices too! I think every other pet store has better prices. And it's called pet valu (e) ? It's really not a good value.

I do my dog wash here, the facility is always clean, and so convenient. No mess at home, they enjoy their bath, and treats from Pet valu. And Amy is an excellent groomer, my very anxious Oreo got her nails trimmed without any issues, highly recommend Amy at Pet Valu.

I was having serious trouble with my puppy pulling on the leash and nothing seemed to be helping. I brought him in and spoke with Kim; she showed me multiple options and gave me her opinion of the harness that will help best, sized him, showed me how to make sure it fits correctly as my puppy continues to grow, and let me take the harness for a test drive around the store to see how he reacted to it. Using it every time I take my puppy out and about and on walks and it has quite literally changed the walking game; he doesn't pull and isn't choking himself out now which are both huge bonuses. Big shout out to Kim and PetValu for being so helpful and informative!

Ella was super helpful with helping us get everything for our first cat! She was really honest in getting the right things and saving us money with coupons. I recommend this store highly, especially since it is local!

Have been a faithful customer for 2 years and spent thousands here between rabbit cages, fish tank and stand, bird cages, animals, food, and supplies in general. Went in on Wednesday Aug 16 and with my two kids under 3. I had the youngest on me and the three year old walking beside me. We were getting aquarium decorations. About 7-8 of them. They’re all breakable. It was about $86.
The cashier did not ask me if I needed a bag. The transaction finished and I stood there waiting. I asked if I was able to get a bag and she said they’re 10 cents. I checked my wallet and had no change. I asked if I could just have a paper bag, she said no she’s not allowed to give me a bag but she can ring me up a new transaction (to pay on card).
Now this is some terrible customer service. And if this is coming from management, you guys need to change your strategies because youve definitely lost a customer today, a customer with a spending problem at that.
It’s actually embarrassing for the store. $86 and y’all couldn’t give a person holding two small kids with a bunch of breakables a 10 cent disposable bag after your employee didn’t offer one at any point during the transaction? Really? That’s literally double your bad.
Not to mention all the attitude we get from other staff members when buying fish. We were so scarred after buying fish by how condescending the staff was we ended up driving to a calgary location.
We’ve been offered help to the car at local pet shops and those will be the ones who now receive our weekly business and support. There’s far too much competition in this town to be rude and dismissive to customers.
I will say there is one employee at the Cochrane location who has always been polite, friendly, and outgoing, a teenage boy with curly hair that always greets us and says “tell your pets we say hello” on our way out. However after this continued decline in customer care since we started shopping with you guys, this young man’s professional and polite demeanour can no longer salvage the uncomfortable situations we’ve had in this store.

Best pet store in town. The staff is helpful, knowledgeableand very friendly. I highly recommend it!

Something has changed. Not for the better. Has ownership changed? Prior to January you were always greeted when you walked in the door. Not now. An employee always asked if they could help you. Not now. The bathtubs were cleaned after every use and a fresh towel was available along with a small complimentary bag of dog treats. Not now. For 3 months the store has been down to one tub so there is usually a lineup waiting. Three staff were working the last time we were there and not one of them spoke or acknowledged our presence until it was time to pay. No dog towel, no treats, no cleaned tub and terrible customer service. We won’t be back.
