Was always a BIG fan of Peter's (Calgary) so we were keen on trying the Red Deer location. Our experience was not good. The single burger came with 1and a half patties, the double came with 2 (shouldn't it be 2.5). Waited 10 minutes for the order and the burgers were not as hot as I would have liked. All this on "national fry day" and they had no fries! A note on the door stated that this was due to a shortage of quality product. One thing that I immediately noticed was that the weight of the burger.wasn't as heavy or dense as I remember. Possibly due to the super thin patties they now use. It appears that the new owners have changed things.and not for the good.
I guess I will never get used to all the changes made at Peters. But at least I lucked out and got better fries than normal due to a potato shortage. Sometimes frozen fries are not that bad.
There was a chemical spill in the parking lot and and staff refused to clean up the safety hazard. They refused to call anyone to clean it up. They do not care. Any wondering animals would have a painful death if they even took 1 lick… so sad.
I’ve heard lots of people rave about this drive in burger but I have to say the food was mediocre at best. It won’t be my choice next time I’m after a burger and onion rings.
Maybe the milkshakes are worth stopping for but I didn’t try one.
When visiting Red Deer, this place is one of our drive-thru favorites.
Their shakes are one of the best - not only are they so tasty, the portion is also very generous. And the flavor selection is also wide, and you can also mix and match up to 3 different flavors!
If you're starving, don't go there. Service is friendly and quick, however the burgers and fries still taste the same as they did when I tried PDI 15 years ago in Calgary. I threw out the hamburger after two bites, the fries were fresh but had a stale texture. Maybe I'll try again in another 15 years
7PM monday, only two people waiting for food and no line, nobody sitting at any tables. There were two of us, orders were very fast, with pre-cooked burgers though. We ordered to go, but found both burgers made wrong, some key ingredients transposed between my daughters burger and mine. So I went back. The solution was a plastic knife to try scrape the ketchup off.the burgers didn't taste great to begin with, and the bun was already ketchup soggy, so I tossed it. Meh. The shakes were awesome through! My daughter loved hers too. We highly recommend the shakes.
A burger and a shake. A single cheeseburger and a raspberry shake. You wouldn't think it would be that difficult. Tastless. Don't waste your time going here.
Second time we came and got raw fries. They are not even cooked. Might have something to do with them not being busy anymore. We had to throw them away they were so bad.
The food was nothing spectacular and poorly "thrown" together. Was expecting thick juicy patties, got something that I could buy at a grocery store for next to nothing. Wasn't impressed after being recommendes by a friend.
Burger was plain & kind of tasteless. I didn't even finish a quarter of it before I tossed it out to the gulls. Not the Peter's Drive In food that I remember, won't be ordering meals from there again.
Very similar to the original location in Calgary, except waiting in a long drive-thru line doesn't entail waiting precariously on a busy roadway. A must for milkshake lovers!
