Whenever I’m in Calgary this is my go to spot. Quality vibes for a working lunch or just to get your head down and work too. Coffee is good and the adjoining bakery is so good it’s bad for the waistline.
I came to order a coffee on site, the 2 girls at the cash were busy chatting with each other rather than wanting to take my order (I was alone waiting right in front of her and "no response to my hello") I took a small (12oz) oat latte which still cost me $7 (and without the tips). Being a regular at coffee shops, it's to date the most expensive latte I have purchased in Canada (especially for "eat in" order). I nevertheless give 2 stars because the coffee was excellent but the service/price is clearly bad
Good place to have a very nice coffee break, coffee meetings, or just you want to single handedly hang-out all by yourself and take a coffee break. The ambience is welcoming and a nice place to break out the stress. Lol
I love visiting this building when I'm in Calgary. The coffee is good but I noticed that it takes longer to get your coffee here more than other coffee shops even though the amount of customers is just the same.
Not big on reviewing but my entire experience was so bad I had to. Gave me the incorrect pastry, wrong coffee, gave me a buzzer that never went off so finally I go up to get my coffees and they’ve just been sitting there. Paid $32 for 2 pastries and 2 coffees. When I asked to have my coffee fixed, the barista got snarky with me and told me I can fix it myself at the table with sugar and cream on it…. And then when I said I’m confused about how my order got so messed up, she told me “this is a confusing busy place”…. Garbages also overflowing and place was a mess. Again, I don’t like to write reviews but my experience was that bad
We had an Espresso and Cordado - both were excellent. The barista was very friendly as well. The interior is industrial and matches the buildings exterior perfectly.
If you find yourself in the area looking for coffee and you are not at Phil & Sebastian Coffee Company, you are in the wrong building. Leave and walk to Phil & Sebastian Coffee Company as soon as you can.
If you care about how your cup tastes and that care is taken into the preparation of the intricate notes and flavors of your coffee, then Phil and Sebastian Coffee Company is where you should be.
Best croissant I’ve found in Calgary so far (however, the search continues, as that’s not high praises in this city). Think they get their baked goods from sidewalk citizen bakery, but they had run out of croissants so we went here instead. Only con is they don’t have anywhere to warm up your croissant so it’s not fresh or warm: (which is why they lost a star, but was still good
Fantastic location! The HQ for roasting and mod bar right at the cash: order and your drink is made right there for you! Phil and Sebastian are on top of their game in the specialty coffee biz and this is a super cool space to experience it.
A nice spot to meet friends or do work. Great coffee shop which offers non-coffee alternatives. One of my favourite places to get a chocolate croissant!
Arrived this morning for a pretty simple order of a drip coffee; nothing complicated. Staff seemed busy preparing for the day still and seemed annoyed when I inquired about creamer for the very potent, sour, awful coffee they provided. Sorry, wish I hadn’t been considerate enough to tip. Not the first or last time I’ve experienced such barista entitlement… if you don’t like serving coffee in the morning… maybe don’t work at a coffee shop. Anyways, won’t be back for the coffee or the staff…. The croissants form sidewalk on the other hand…. Entirely different story. Get it together, guys. No one wants to feel like an inconvenience while supporting your business.
Love the Simmons building and the coffee at Phil & Sebastian's is nice. However, I have a pet peeve which applies to all cafes like this.if you say you're eating in, why on earth would they put your coffee in a paper cup? Not only does coffee not taste as nice out of a paper cup, it's extremely wasteful, something I'd have thought we'd all want to get away from.
The environment is absolutely amazing, the bakery selection is so great (they have the best chocolate croissant I've ever had), and the staff know the menu very well (they were able to give us dairy free options from memory). The drinks are pretty alright too, the iced mocha has some chunks but still tastes very good!
My wife and I had breakfast here for 3 days. Food was superb certainly they put extra touch on every dish you order which I find it nice and unique.it’s not your typical café, coffee was excellent, love the elderflower tea.ambiance is great too gives you a cozy feels.
An excellent place to work and grab a coffee. When Citizen Sidewalk Bakery is opened, it's even better as you can have a snack too!
The architecture and design is urban and grounding, with lots of light. If you plan on using your laptop, they have free wifi. The wifi works best on the coffee shop side of the building - FYI.
If you're planning to do some work here, be prepared to share a table as there is no much seating room.

Located inside an historic old Simmons building. Baristas were nice and made really good cups of coffee. There are a few tables for indoor chill. Gets really crowded on weekend mornings.
Just had a one on one with Brandon today. What an amazing experience! He took the time out of his schedule to sit down with me and share some of his knowledge and passion for coffee. Did you know he ranked top 5 in Canada for his knowledge in coffee? A treasure for us Calgarians.
I learned so much and now have a whole new appreciation for Baristas (there is so much more to coffee). I know I just scratched the surface but it was truly a pleasure. Thank you Brandon and Phil and Sebastien team.
Staff very rude. No visible signage to go to back end of store if only ordering beverage. When i arrived at counter, only one in line, female barrista completely ignored me. Waited 8 minutes to be served. None of the barrista acknowledged me, no explanation for not serving me. I like to support local but i will not be returning. Take my business elsewhere.
I love P&S coffee. Whenever I come to the shop, I feel most welcomed and comfortable. It's fun to see all the different types of latte art from the amazing staff Don't miss your chance to visit here! Your day will be elevated by the quality coffee and service ️
Espresso is fantastic and the coffee is great. Really enjoy the vibe. This is a great place to work from for a few hours, people watch and have great coffee.
Delicious honey latte! I always try out several coffee shops while traveling and this is top 5 ever! Great building and atmosphere as well. Highly recommend.
One star, only because I couldn't even order. Because they would not take cash. In any regard, the guy who wouldn't serve me didn't make this rediculous rule. And was pleasant. Cash is legal tender in Canada.
Super cool location with a cool vibe. I struggle with the coffee from Phil & Seb in general. One batch can be great and the same coffee from another batch is totally different. This has held true when buying coffee for home and when visiting their cafes. It's disappointing.
The decor of the cafe was very nice. When we walked in however, we felt very uncomfortable. Everyone in the cafe at the time was Caucasian, and once we entered everyone just stopped and stared. We then proceeded to wait for the barista who was cleaning. Instead of taking our order she smiled nicely and walked away. In such a diverse city like Calgary I usually don’t feeled singled out for my appearance. Me and my friend felt so uncomfortable that we ended up leaving. I hope no one has to experience the feeling of uncomfort the way I did. Maybe I am being over sensitive but I thought I should share my experience.
