Pho Hoan Pasteur (Royal Oak)

Tried to take out number 46.the problem is the container they used is not ment for hot stuff so that styrofoam or polystyrene container melted. Is that even legal to serve? You guys should change that or you might kill somebody from that melted styrofoam/ polystyrene containers

I have been going to this place for many years now and it has been consistently good. Onion cakes and the steak pho are my usual picks.

Went here for many years and never had a single problem. Great service, once my daughter lost her retainer on the napkin, they helped us find it immediately. Number 27 is the best pho I have ever tasted, highly recommend.

Had the large pho sate. Upgraded from regular size to large and its def a large! Great broth and lots of meat which is rare to get, Imo. Also had the prawn vermicelli. Good amount of prawns and fresh lettuce and onions. Overall, really good food and great portions. Will return

Lots of good food. A little short on staff makes it difficult to serve multiple dishes at once. Our larger groups meals took a little bit to all come out. But many of us have lunch for tomorrow! Decent pricing too. We'll be back again.

Husband and I shared an order of shrimp fresh rolls and XL seafood pho. The latter was delicious, very tasty with a little kick, abundant tender seafood, not chewy/rubbery like you get sometimes. There was lots of Thai basil and bean sprouts which were super fresh. The restaurant was busy, I stopped counting after 14 order pickups while we waited for a waitress to take our order and for the food to come.and it wasn't long! And that's in addition to all the diners eating in! We left better than satisfied and will return for sure!

The food was great. The service was friendly and speedy. The tea that came to the table without request was a welcomed touch.

Beef sate soup with meatballs is excellent as was the grilled chicken and spring rolls rice dish. Really fast service in a packed restaurant.

This place never disappoints, been coming here for 3 years now and the flavours are always spot on good portion size too, great value for money.

Must visit restaurant after ski trip in calgary.

I am korean. Everything after ski trip my body wants hot broth. Mostly, korean soup base food was my first pick but one of my friend recommended this restaurant. I am a pho mania too. This restaurant is in different level of pho! Totally worth to visit here even if you have only one dinner chance in Calgary.

Key word: fresh! Have been here a few times, never had a meal that didn't taste fresh of the stove.

Can always count on a consistent, tasty, bowl of pho whenever I'm in the area. My favourite order is #10! Great portions and generous on the servings.

I got the Beef noodle soup with sate and peanut broth. I've never seen that offered at a phobplace before so wanted to try it.

The first few bites were really good but felt a bit too heavy as I ate. Would probably just go back to sate beef noodle soup next time.

One of the best pho places in the city. I highly recommend the satay soup. Also give the fried onion cake a try!

Their broth style taste good with the soups. The raw meat also fresh and tasty.

Ordered through ubereats and the meals were pretty sad. I ordered an XL pho.not sure where the "extra" went but I pretty much paid XL for what seems to be a large, 2 beefballs cut into fours. I ordered the rice dish with porkchop.porkchop was dry and overcooked. Won't be ordering here again.

I never write reviews but have to share my shocking experience yesterday.

Many of my friends and family including myself usually had a good dining experience here and enjoyed their food before.

Yesterday, the lady who seated us was extremely rude from the beginning. She looked very angry, made us wait in the middle of the restaurant without explanations while she was cleaning the used table.

She grabbed an used, dirty cloth from a yellow bin, did not spray anything, gave a quick wipe on the table and told us to be seated. We were quite shocked watching this and one of my family members asked her to sanitize the table. Immediately, her face turned red and she yelled at us "you can use that sanitizer and sanitize it yourself. " She seemed very upset which made us feel very uncomfortable so we had to leave the restaurant.

I was quite shocked and frustrated about how the tables/chairs were not getting properly cleaned according to the new infection control and prevention measures despite the pandemic situation. And secondly, the attitude of this particular staff simply ruined our evening as well.
This used to be one of our regular go-to restaurants but we will never go back here I guess.
Hopefully the hygiene standards get better.

Great place to eat and great atmosphere. I wasn't warned about cilantro in my soup which is no big problem. But overall it was great

We ordered SKIP here and they forgot all the sides for the soup but after we ate it all it was good enough. I didn't know how to notify them on SKIP about the missing stuff and put and thumb down there and now I can't erase it. Trust me this food is delicious and worth the money. They even offered a gift for me cuz of the soup mistake. I would highly recommend this place if you want to eat authentic and tasty Vietnamese food.

Great food! The Sate Peanut soup is delicious! Haven't eaten at the restaurant in some time, but the staff are very friendly and service us usually quite quick.

This place is also normal, WC is clean, nothing special. The food is ok a bit salty of broth.the price is overal higher than the normal vietnamese restaurant i come. The sevice is not good, really slow order and noisy and dont ask what we need others.

I've eaten here three times, and at the Edmonton Millwoods location dozens of times. The green onion cake and the peanut saté soup are not as good at this location as in Edmonton. It's definitely a different recipe.

Food is hot and fresh and fast. I hate the little ketchup style packets of hoisin and siracha, but that's a COVID thing. What can you do?

The staff here are much friendlier here in Royal Oak Calgary than at my home location in Millwoods Edmonton.

Great local Pho place! Their Large servings are truly large and very filling! Really solid clear broth flavour in their soups. Tasty cuts of meat also.
Service was helpful and quick at lunchtime.

Just okay. Bland and middle range for vietnamese. Whenever beef is ordered they will give either pork or chicken.that or their beef is very questionable. A bit expensive for what you get considering flavour and quality are lacking. There are other vietnamese close bu that is far better.

Satay Beef Pho! WOW! Absolutely amazing! Great flavour and wonderful broth. The servers are very stingy with the napkins make sure to get extra.

Staff are very friendly here, and food was pretty decent just took a long time for the food to come out.maybe they had one of those days but we ordered 3 noodle soups and one mango bubble tea, the noodles took about 25minutes and the bubble tea came out half way through our meal.idk but we are willing to give it another go

Bad service for doordash drivers. You must stay outside till the order is ready for pickup; but they don't inform you once is ready; just keep you waiting outside.

I went the restaurant at 10: 05am on Sunday. Their opening is at 10: 00am.
The server was extremely rude and impolite to us. She did not serve us for 25min. So I went to the entrance of the kitchen and called her to ask tea or water. But her attitude was so rude and she almost yelled at us. “You guys came too early! That’s why the tea is not ready! ”
I think if a restaurant opens at 10, it means everything should be ready at 10. What’s the point you wrote opens at 10 and you blame and be rude to customers showing up at 10? At least isn’t she supposed to be sorry?
I don’t understand why we deserve those bad service and bad attitude.
Weather the food tastes good or bad, it is so sure that I and my friends could not be happy or enjoyed the food we purchased.
Shame on you.

This is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. Everything I tried here has been excellent, but my favourites have always been the onion cake and the beef satay pho. You really can't go wrong with anything from here. The restaurant is pretty big so it is good for both small and big groups, though it does get pretty busy. The service is pretty quick and the servers are attentive enough. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you are near Royal Oak.

Good service, good food, hugh portions, can get extra noodles or meat for a few bucks. A couple of dishes fed the whole gang and had leftovers. Didn't taste like they use MSG. So flavorful I didn't have to use hoisin sauce or hot sauce. Clean facilities. Nice modern decorations. Packed for lunch and had to wait a bit but worth it.

Have been wanting to try this place, and definitely glad we did, as this will be one of our regular restaurants. Also notable, is that the restaurant and bathrooms are very clean.

Please note that I reserve 5 star ratings for restaurants that have chefs in charge of menu. I never rate fast food chains.

Food has never been disappointing and portions are generous. The staff, however, need training on better customer service. I have always asked for suggestions based on my preference and have always been met with either a stone face or impatient look. Well cant blame a person for trying.

Workers are extremely rude. They would laugh and ask what we were saying as if they didnt understand us. I hope they learn that you should treat people kind and not look down on people. I am utterly disappointed in the service here and do not recommend coming here.

Free parking at the front. You can dine in or take out. It is not the most luxurious place but food is always great. My go to is peanut broth beef satay pho with taro cocobut bubbletea.

Food is pretty good here. Only thing i'd say is it's annoying when they go on vacation, they close the entire store.there is no way to tell when they are open until you get to the door to see a sign saying they aren't open.they don't post online or anything that they are closed which is pretty inconvenient if you drive all the way there for nothing

Get the Pho Sate and you will not be disappointed. It turned my spanish girlfriend into a pho eating machine.

Prices steadily rose since it first opened so value has declined in my mind. Flavour has stayed the same thankfully, so it's still one of the best in the NW.

Eat here. The food is always great. Always. The green onion cakes are crispy, flavourful and perfect. I usually get the vermicelli noodles bowl (its proper name escapes me right now) with pork and spring rolls, but the beef and chicken versions are also delicious.

I've never had to wait to be seated, even during peak service times, but sometimes it takes a little while for food to exit the kitchen. Expect to have time to chat and drink tea for a while before eating your meal. My 8 year old son tends to get bored and fidgety while waiting, so bring something to keep kids occupied.

Soup is really good. Service is "meh". It took longer to get our food by a lot compared to other Vietnamese restaurants.

Good Vietnamese soup really made me feel so much full they were serve of really big bowls for the extra large a bit expensive but I guess it was a good serve

My family and I have been going here for years. Consistently best satay pho! Like most other Viet restaurants, the service is pretty basic but it is quick and delicious.

Woah. A great big restaurant with great foods, nice behaviour and interesting. Daily and weekend also same, all staff service work really well and fast and full of energy. We like the customer service 100%. The food bring out alway hot and delicous. We also love all their food and comfortable enjoy our meal. We are for sure with friends come to this restaurant more and more time. Happy!
